In twenty first century Mercy, Massachusetts, bodies of missing residents begin to turn up in the woods that are not only missing body parts but also marked with a supernatural brand. For the descendants of the Salem witch trials, the past appears hard to escape…
Betrayed by her family and still trying to piece together the broken strands of her life, Olivia and Theo must also figure out how to stop Nathaniel, the demon from seventeenth century Salem, who has been let loose on the unsuspecting town of Mercy.
The doorway to the Otherworld has been closed but at a terrible cost. Theo has been trapped on the other side while the Demon Nathaniel searches for one of the lost crossroads of the Underworld.
All of a sudden Olivia and Theo find themselves thrown back in time to 17th century Salem. Isabel and Nathaniel are hell bent on finding Olivia’s ancestor, Hester West, who was the last of the West women known to have had possession of Infernum, the most powerful book ever to have existed.
When Olivia finally returns to her hometown of Mercy with her husband Theo, the relief is short lived. Her mother and the demon Nathaniel have also returned and they are under the disturbing impression she knows where the Hell book is and they’re not the only ones.

I loved the series. There’s a lot of “buts” I could throw in but I still have to give it a 5 because I’m hoping that all of the things left unfinished will closed by the final book. I’m terrible with waiting for the next book, I try to wait until a series is complete before I read it especially when there are so many books. I feel like it will be a long time before this series is completely finished but I have no doubts that it will be worth it. I’m at war with myself to start the next series but I know that I will only be frustrated that part 2 isn’t complete. I probably won’t be able to resist because Sam was one of my favorite characters. I do have to ask, did I miss the answer somewhere to what Isabel gave up at the crossroads? I know that it was referenced several times but it’s bugging me that I don’t know the answer.
The characters are so well thought out and quirky. In love with the quirks, crazy characters, continually changing story and most of all..... I have been pleasantly surprised by this series. It is like "The Never Ending Story" on turbo shots.
I never knew where this author would take her characters and the plot. Kept me fascinated.
I would love to see this as a series, would be scary but riveting.
In am off to find out if this series continues on....
If you love all things paranormal , put this on your T B R list, you will not be disappointed.
I can't really review this as a romance novel. I haven't read one since I was 13 years old and had to borrow a book from my aunt on a flight to Malaysia.
So as a novel this is just bad. Lips curl over and over again. Eyes flash. Desire overwhelms. The protagonist is a strong female lead, until she is not and has to be saved. The hero guy is from 1700 Salem and yet watches TV for a week and is totally fine with EVERYTHING. Oy Vey.
A terrific five book story with magic, history, and some very interesting characters. Saunders has a way of pulling you in and keeping you wanting more. The story has a fast pace and is easy to read. By the time you have it all figured out, Saunders throws a twist in that makes you want to read the books again to ensure you didn't miss the signs. Would recommend to anyone into fantasy, magic, or alternative history.
I started out really liking this book. Too soon it got body and that is not my thing, it was not a huge carnage but was short and to descriptive for me. Probably will be well liked by others. I also am not into going into events of the past it they are long. I loved all of the characters in this book, we're so descriptive i had them pictured in my mind almost immediately.
I truly enjoyed this series...overall the books kept me turning pages...there were only a few points that I thought were unnecessary. There are a plethora or characters and at times it gets to be a bit much, the final book wraps everything up. I would like to see a follow up series to check in on the main characters.
I loved the Guardian Series. Each book flowed well into the next. I feel in love with Olivia, Theo, and all the members of the small town of Mercy. These books were well-written paranormal stories, full of suspense. The author drew you in from start to finish. I highly recommend this series!
Started off strong and kept you on the edge of your chair through the entire series. Had a hard time putting it down. Hopefully this is not the end. Thanks for sharing.
An incredible read from beginning to end. Things move so quickly it definitely keeps you interested from page 1 through the end of the compete series. Great job! Can't wait to start the next one!
I've read all six books and i have to say Wendy Saunders is a very talented author. the books were very engrossing, i couldn't put them down! looking forward to Scarlett and the next series!
Once I started reading I found I couldn’t put it down. Now on to the second series. I see there are only three books so far I hope there’s more coming. Love the way the books are written. Wonderful story teller.
This book has everything and ties it together in unique and interesting ways. I read the packaged first series and my on disappointment was that not did each book leave the reader hanging the entire series did. It is too annoying, losing a star
I enjoyed the way this series went seamlessly from one book to the next. The characters are so realistic you feel like you really know them and are part of the story.
I have loved the series so far. I love this type of hoodie, and the characters are so interesting. I would recommend it to my daughter and granddaughter.
