Merlin's Beard! - is I think the only thing I have to say I think.
I have so many thoughts I don't know where to start. I write reviews mostly to remember how I felt and what I thought as I read a book and so here we are. I'm someone who has always dipped into fanfiction but not really found any I liked but this absolutely blew me away.
The author is so talented with an incredible talent for writing. The characters, plot, world building, social narrative all so well done. Simply her range of knowledge in subject spanning from politics, law, science was impressive. And her prose was so delicious as you read and a delight throughout.
I think as she said from the onset she was out to tackle two things and these were precisely the two elements that I wish the book had done better. With such impressive world building there was so much that could be said via the wizarding world about the politics and society of our muggle world. She wrote a beautiful, heart-breaking, inspiring and compelling societal narrative. It was a pleasure to take it all in.
And then Harry and Hermione not ending up together. She wrote so beautifully about why they work best with each other and why they fell in love. It is rare that you find an author who write beautiful literary fiction type prose but also great romance, she truly has an arsenal packed in her pen. And then the relationship of Harry and Hermione was done so beautiful with real world consequences and again being used to speak about an aspect of society. And there was great balance on writing romance and political narration. Their love was so beautiful, I thought I had read great fictional men but Harry was done so well, so well rounded and so loving. And when he retired to be with the children at the end, it warmed my heart because as someone who is pursuing a career with long hours and asking much from me, as much as I would respect the wishes on the man who I fall in love with, it would seem a dream to find a man like him. And then there’s Hermione, who inspired me to become a better woman as I read her story. Every character was done so well, especially Ron and Ginny. There are things I don't like about book Ron but Ron here really is a redemption for it.
And to think this is all written, all the time put into it - for a book that will not be published and profited off of, purely for the love of the wizarding world and writing. Thank you to the author, it was a beautiful journey as I read your work.

This is the first HP fanfic I've ever read, and it was amazing! Loved following Harry & Hermione's journey to one another and seeing how their relationships resolved. I was also pleasantly invested in their careers within the Ministry of Magic and the politics of the wizarding world. Looking forward to the epilogue!!!
I can’t believe this story got finished. I started started reading it over a decade ago and despite the fact that it stopped at 20 chapters, I kept going back to reread it, only to discover recently that it was complete. The ending was everything I hoped it would be.
One of the best fics ever, angst and funny, it is everything you could ever want from a book. I have so many highlights on my kindle. I laughed and I cried so much. This was amazing!!!!
