Got It Bad bring us to the last Maguire brother, Kellan, the "good guy" out of the three. Throughout the series we've seen him flirt hard with the U.S Marshall protecting him and his brothers and now we get to see what happens when Delaney finally gives in to his charms. Their attraction could mean not only the end of Delaney's career but the end of the Maguire brother's protection. Yet it's too strong for either of them to ignore.

I was so excited to get this book and see Kellan and Delaney together and giving in to all that sexual tension that's been between them these past two books. And it was so worth the wait because I loved getting to see them as more than protector/protectee and getting all my questions answered about whether or not Delaney would actually give in to the charming almost-lawyer.

I thought that they were pretty damn cute together too and I was surprised when getting to know both of them more. Kellan intrigued me with how he was the brother that wasn't in the mob and knew nothing of his brothers dealings with it yet he also wasn't as straight-laced as I originally thought and I ended up liking that a lot. Not only did we get to see him get his chance with the woman he wanted but in the story we also got to see him become more confident in himself and find something to make him happy career wise. He really shined through in this book and it was very enjoyable to read.

I do have to say that I was expecting the whole mob storyline to be a little more settled at the end but it also didn't leave me with questions about it so it wasn't much of a bother that it wasn't. And I did really like the epilogue that gave us more of the brothers as they were all settled in to their new lives together. Now I'll just be hoping that we will get a story for Lucien sometime in the future because I feel like he definitely has one to tell. Hint hint wink wink Ms. Barth?

I wasn’t familiar with this author or series, but I liked the synopsis and was curious.

I liked Delaney and Kellan well enough. They’re both good people in interesting situations and I was intrigued. Sadly, that didn’t last too long. I didn’t see the chemistry between them or the jump from lust to love. Their conversations and attempts to get to know each other were very shallow. And I’m not sure what to say about Kellan’s brothers.

Plot wise, it was boring. I was expecting mob trial drama and it didn’t exist. There wasn’t any sort of build up or confrontation and the small conflict towards the end was very anti-climatic. Even the epilogue was meh.

Overall, it was a quick read. Perhaps I’m missing something from not reading the other books in the series, but I think this is mostly a matter of me not connecting to the characters.

Barth sure saved the best for last. On the run and in Witness Protection for his brothers' own misdeeds, Kellan has had a hard time coming to terms with being the only MacGuire brother kept in the dark. They've never kept secrets from each other and his brothers' lies still weigh on his mind. To make matters worse, the girl he was entranced with turns out to be their handler from the US Marshals. Now stuck between a rock and a hard place, Kelly has decide what's worth fighting for: family or HEA.

Delaney's kept her head on straight her whole career. She loves helping witnesses find a new life when defending against wrong doings; she's passionate in her field and wants to be the best. But the MacGuire brothers are testing her every patience. Moving them 5 times is bad enough, but having feelings for the one innocent brother under her protection is slightly worse, not to mention against the rules. But Kellan is charming and knows his incessant flirting gets a rise out of her every time. But when he asks for something to better protect himself and his brothers, Delaney sees the man beneath the flirty persona. He loves his family and doesn't want to risk losing them. As they spend more time together, tensions rise and come to a head. Can they keep their passion a secret or will it tear this whole operation apart?

If you've read the first to MacGuire boys, you've more than likely been waiting to see just how Delaney and Kellan handle their fiery attraction. Any two characters that have that much fire between them are bound to explode: and whoooo do they ever. Filled with passion and stolen moments, Delaney and Kellan break all the rules to fall for one another. But there's a twist readers won't see coming. And some secrets will risk it all to come out. A great finale to our bad boy MacGuire Brothers!

The Pros:

1) *Sings "Anticipation!"*

I've been waiting for this book since the first book of the trilogy. Kellan and Delaney have been flirting and sniping since day one and I couldn't wait to see how their relationship played out and how Barth handled the inherent conflicts in their relationship. Barth didn't disappoint, mostly. More on that down in the cons.

2) Kellan and Delaney's flirting and sniping was fun and I loved that they understood each other so well and respected each other. Yeah, they sniped but it was good natured and if someone went too far, they apologized. Sniping was also how they flirted, and they could be funny. Kellan and Delaney got each other, and were able to talk about what mattered, able to share, vent, and yell. There were several misunderstandings but they fit the story and they characters. They weren't just manufactured to provide conflict but arose organically from who and what they were.

3) I had serious misgivings about Kellan and Delaney getting together since it was a conflict of interest and against the US Marshall rules. I wasn't sure what HEA would be believable. Happily, it mostly works.

4) Kellan finally talked to, and stood up to, his brothers. Going into Witness Protection was a huge life change and Kellan was pissed at his brothers for forcing it on him. He finally let it all out. I enjoyed seeing him come into his own. Although he was confident to begin with, he developed even more confidence as he took charge of his life, even when it might mean disappointing or angering his brothers.

5) Seeing Delaney come out of her self-imposed shell and make friends. She wasn't perfect and that was okay. I smiled and laughed at the scenes with Mollie and Sierra. Besides making me laugh, they fleshed Delaney out and made her more interesting.

6) Steamy, steamy sex scenes that were emotionally charged! Hot, hot, hot. 👍

The Cons:

1) At times, it felt like problems were resolved a little too easily. It was fairly low angst, which I liked, but it could have used more conflict.

2) There's an event late in the book, a development in Delaney and Kellan's life, that I wasn't thrilled with. It was hinted at in the blurb so I kind of expected it but I was hoping I was wrong. Barth didn't drag it out or milk it overly much but it did provide a way for Delaney and Kellan to achieve their HEA. To me though, it felt like a cop-out. Oh, Barth laid some groundwork for it throughout the story, but it just seemed too simplistic. But just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean you won't like it.

3) I'm still puzzled as to what purpose Delaney's temporary partner, Kono, served. He adds little to the story and just seems to exist a) to serve as a plot device and b) to add a drop of racial diversity. Granted, this is a very white book but his character really didn't lessen that. Perhaps if he'd played a significant role in the story, served an actual purpose.

4) After all the build up about the mob trial and the return to their hometown, Barth skips ahead and keeps all of that off the page. We get a brief reminiscence about the trial and that's it. I felt cheated. Surely it rated at least a few pages since it was the whole reason for the series and the springboard for the romances. :(

The Verdict:

A funny, sexy, sweet, low angst story that has a delightful romance between two equals who respect each other. Not a perfect story, it nevertheless kept me swiping pages on my Kindle and provided me with several hours of enjoyment.

I’m a big fan of Christi Barth’s Bad Boys Gone Good series. The series is about three brothers who turn state’s evidence against the Chicago mob and go into hiding with WITSEC. Well actually, only two of the three brothers have mob ties. The youngest, Kellan is ambushed with this information merely months before he is set to become an attorney and life as he knows it will never be the same. Kellan Maguire aka Kieran Mullaney is the good, law abiding brother. In his 25 years, he never knew his father and brothers worked for Irish mob boss Danny McGinty. He only knew his brothers, Rafe and Flynn, took extremely good care of him, made sure he didn’t want for anything, and loved him unconditionally, after the deaths of both of his parents.

For the past seven months, Kellan has towed the line and done exactly what has been asked of him. Yes, he’s still a little hurt and upset his brothers lied to him for years, but he loves them and knows he’ll forgive them. When you join WITSEC you have to leave your old life behind. You aren’t allowed to talk to old friends, visit places you’ve come to love, or even work in the same career field. The old you ceases to exist. But Kellan, unbeknownst to anyone, did take something of his old life into his new one. That something was his attraction to Federal Marshal Delaney Evans.

From the moment Kellan laid eyes on Delaney, he couldn’t help but be intrigued by her. One quick kiss opened up many possibilities before his world changed. For Delaney, Kellan immediately had her going out of her comfort zone. Kellan’s flirtatious ways finally wore her down and one powerful kiss demanded the two explore their attraction for one another. And so the straight laced Kellan Maguire and the hard working, dedicated US Marshal Delaney Evans embark on a clandestine love affair that becomes so much more than either bargained for.

There are so many reasons for me to love Got it Bad. First off is Kellan himself. He had my heart from the very beginning of the series. There are so many layers to him. He’s funny, caring, passionate, and thoughtful. He’s a thinker and has deep emotions, but he doesn’t say what he thinks or feels often. Delaney has her own baggage. I gather it’s not something she talks about, but this baggage was the driving force for her becoming a marshal. Delaney definitely doesn’t believe in love or in a woman losing herself to a man. There is no question that these two are good together. I loved watching them fall in love and lean on each other.

Got it Bad can be read as a standalone however, Rafe, Flynn, and their significant others are woven throughout the story. Flynn’s girlfriend Sierra had her own little mini-plot in Never Been Good, and it’s mentioned in Got it Bad. The reckoning between the Mullaneys and McGinty is coming. This was something I was really looking forward to. I forgot this wasn’t a romantic suspense, so I was a little let down when there wasn’t any edge of your seat action involved. However, the threat to the Maguires and those they love is very real. I must say that part of the story did surprise me. In fact, there were other parts of the story that surprised me as well. Got it Bad is a really good ending to a wonderful series.

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

Kellan was always the brother that I was most curious and excited to read about in this series. Since I started that first book, I couldn’t wait to read all about the cocky, flirty youngest Maguire brother.

Ladies and gents, he did not disappoint! I loved getting to know Kellan and Delaney in this one, and theirs was the story I was hoping would come about. Whilst Kellan is the “good” one out of the three boys, he and Delaney and their relationship could cause so many problems and so he’s essentially going a “bad” thing.

I love love loved Kellan, he would have to be my favourite Maguire brother, and I really loved seeing him step up in this one and start coming out of shell, and taking charge of his life in their new town on Bandon.

Delaney was pretty awesome too, and I could totally understand her reasoning and insecurities. Seeing them grow together was awesome and I really wondered how Christi would be able to pull of the happy ending for them.

The ending though? Hot damn. So. Perfect. There were a few things left a little bit too open and skimmed over for me, without too much detail about how they got closed out, but otherwise it was all fantastic.

Having the other Maguire brothers of course, and their significant others and some of the townsfolk was a great addition to the book and I must say that I have really loved this series. Definitely recommend. A great way to finish it off.

At last Kellan’s story!! Good lord, I’ve truly enjoyed these Bad Boys Gone Good series tales, but I’ve been dying to read Kellan’s story—the younger brother who knew nothing about his older brother’s real work—and who they worked for! And holy moly, add in the attraction to a Federal Marshall and the sparks fly!

No, really, there are fireworks booming—especially with Delany and Kellan’s meet-cute. Poor Kellan, though it sure as heck was laughable after the fact!

Anyway, these Maguire brothers will do absolutely anything for each other, but Kellan’s been feeling a bit left out of the loop. Of course, he wants his brothers to stick it to the Irish Mob. Of course, he wants them to live and love and all that comes along with really living life to the fullest. But he wants that for himself too. And he really wants the forbiddenest of all forbidden fruit: Delany Evans.

And Delaney, the work-a-holic who has no personal life, well, she wants Kellan just as badly. Enough that she’s willing to risk her whole career. Man, if that’s not true love, I don’t know what is!

I honestly couldn’t read Got It Bad fast enough to see how things ended up with Kellan and Delaney. And I loved catching up with Rafe and Mollie and Flynn and Sierra. Great Sunday read! ~ Missy, 4 stars

Christi Barth wraps up her Bad Boys Gone Good series with Got it Bad, the third story about three brothers who’ve ended up in a witness protection program. You’d benefit from reading the first two books in order to obtain a more thorough background of how they got from big city Chicago to small town Oregon, although the author does a good job of filling things in if you start here. So far I’ve found lots to enjoy in the previous books, and have been looking forward to finishing off the series and concluding some of the overarching plotlines. It all falls into place here with some action, suspense, and a sexy ‘workplace’ romance.

Kellan Maguire had no idea his two older brothers Rafe and Flynn were involved with the mob and no inkling of how fast things could change as they were swept up into a witness protection program. He just knows that the woman he met on the street who flirted with him turned out to be more than what she seemed. He’s had a crush on Delaney, their handler, from the start and she’s always gone out of her way to do her best for the three of them. Delaney has had their backs from day one, moving them from one place to the next when things got too hot or they screwed up the plan to stay under the radar. Now Kellan hopes to convince Delaney that it’s time to address the chemistry that sparked between them before things went sideways.

Delaney prides herself on a job well done, and in the case of the Maguire brothers, it’s been a long stressful assignment keeping them safe. The trial of the mob boss they turned on is coming up in a few short months and she wants to see them safely through that experience and out alive on the other side. She’s struggled with how to maintain her professional distance from Kellan, but when they have to pretend to be in a relationship to explain their meetings in a neutral location, it’s not long before they start up a real affair. Kellan is everything she’d want in a partner – funny, smart, sexy and supportive. As a federal agent who works with informants going undercover, she’s at the whim of wherever her next assignment will take her. Does she have to choose between her career and love or is there a way she can have both?

This is a great finale to the series! I’ve enjoyed getting to know the Maguire brothers, who each have very distinct characters. The relationship between the three of them is fraught with tension because of how Kellan was kept in the dark about their family’s mob ties. He was in law school before the sudden end to his career that has him now working full-time at a manual labor job in a cranberry processing plant. He’s bitter about how things have gone down but also realizes it’s up to him to prove that he’s not a little kid brother anymore. Rafe and Flynn will do anything to protect Kellan, but Kellan is through with the secrets and lies. He wants to be treated as an equal and the balancing of their brotherly connection makes up a large part of the story. Though Kellan can’t finish the law degree he started, he does figure out a way to use the skills he’s got and find a more satisfying way to serve their new community.

The sexual attraction between Delaney and Kellan leads to some steamy love scenes as they find ways to spend time together in secret. Delaney approaches their affair as a limited time engagement but Kellan wants it to be permanent. I love how Kellan is a man in pursuit but also cognizant of the risks for Delaney if anyone finds out about how things between them have changed. Delaney had always considered her career to be her top priority but her growing feelings for Kellan make her question what kind of future she sees for herself and whether there is a way to have both. One thing that helps to connect them emotionally is that they can be totally honest with each other. Delaney has to knows everything about Kellan in order to protect him, and she doesn’t have to keep her real job secret from him.

The brothers’ integration into small town life has been a slow but rewarding process. Though they miss some things about life in Chicago, the friendships they are making and the new love interests they’ve found have made them want to set down new roots and watch them grow. Of course, things can never go too smoothly and when aspects of their old life come to Bandon, the brothers are willing to do anything to protect their new community. This leads to some tense and suspenseful scenes until all is finally resolved. Got it Bad is a great wind-up to the series and it’s been a pleasure getting to know these brothers and their new community.

Best one so far!

I couldn't wait for this book to be out, I was really curious about his story. And it didn't disappoint (not really). It's definitely the best book of this series (although it might have to do with a kick-ass female characher rather than the male one, this time).

These two were really cute together, they had amazing chemistry (and for a romance, that's the best thing you could hope for).

It's a book worth reading, especially if you read the previous ones.

That twist ending! It was so good! And everything was so nicely wrapped up neat and tight in that epilogue.

Ok so I always have to start out with the bad because I'm a Negative Nancy. My main complaint is that some of the plot points felt a little predictable. But that was easily outweighed by the numerous surprises and the fact that those few predictable plot points still felt natural to theme and flow of the story. So while I nodded along and thought "Of course that happens!" I was still totally engrossed and delighted with the twists and turns the author threw in there.

I think my favorite part of the story was watching our two main characters develop, both personally and in their relationship together. They each had truths to accept and trust to rebuild, big life decisions to make. And could their banter be any hotter? I found their back-and-forths to be clever and it built tension between Delaney and Kellen beautifully.

I was disappointed that Delaney's father's plot thread was never tied up, but it was also introduced when I was starting to think there were too many plot threads. At that point you had the mob, the poker game, golf, deputy, relationship, and now another? It was getting to be too much. But then suddenly, it wasn't... so I can't really complain. I just wanna know what she ended up deciding!

So I read a couple chapters yesterday and then I had to stop because I knew I'd stay up the whole night if I didn't. I finished it today in one sitting, so its "couldn't put it down"-ness is pretty great! Both main characters went through personal development and growth - they both had some hard truths to wrap their brains around and I loved that Delany was Kellan's emotional pressure-release valve and he, in turn, was her sounding board. Their pre-romantic relationship was full of sparks and romantically? Fiiiire.

Sure, I have some minor complaints - some dangly plot threads and a couple of "I knew it!" moments - but I'm giving this full marks and will absolutely recommend it.

*ARC provided by publisher when I asked really nicely and I guess that actually works sometimes, so thank you.*

3 brothers, all in Witness Protection and their ways of coping with new lives foisted on them when they run into trouble with the mob: that’s what Christi Barth’s Bad Boys Gone Good series is built on. Not having read the entire series, ‘Got it Bad’ does take time getting used to, though it’s clear that Kellan Maguire has the hots for the US Marshal in charge of his and his brothers’ case, an attraction which starts just as he is forced into Witsec.

But the story went off the rails for me about a third through. I lost sight of the grander scheme of things in what felt like page-fillers about Kellan’s other activities in a clubhouse, the sudden number of secondary character insertions and pages of dialogue that seemed to go nowhere. Consequently, the slow-going story also felt as though it was pulled in several directions, apart from the secret affair Kellan and Delaney decided to have because they really couldn’t stand the constant pining/burning anymore (there’s a lot of repetitive talk about how their first kiss is making her panties wet), when I really wanted to read how the Maguire brothers finally got free of the mob’s hold on them.

As the youngest brother forced out of law school, Kellan’s first encounter with Delany Evans made me rethink whether the former could even be considered some kind of romantic hero—smarmy, cocky and oozing collegiate testosterone at the very start with a strong NA bent in his character which felt out of place here. Understandably, Kellan’s dissatisfaction and boredom with life prompted some kind of soul-searching but his level of maturity or lack thereof was somehow reinforced when he realised he could make a difference every day apart from law school—which sounded like a slogan for the education industry—or in the way he thought about women guaranteed to put out after a nice date or his constant thoughts of getting Delaney into bed. But these were also peppered with moments where he did feel ‘older’ in a way, more like an equal to Delaney when he had to be.

In short, the contradictory bits of Kellan threw me off and as one who doesn’t normally bother about the age gap between romantic protagonists, the one between Delaney and Kellan still felt marked anyhow, given the different stages they were at their lives, but especially in the way they both approached their careers (with the latter’s one not even started when he’d not even finished school). For the first half, this was what I’d gotten, which made it hard to buy into the pairing given this gap between them.

That said, ‘Got It Bad’ isn’t badly written at all; this is clearly a case of just me not being able to connect with the story and characters and a rating that reflects this admission.

Got It Bad ties the Bad Boys Gone Good series beautifully. Kellan and Delaney have been on a collision course from the very beginning, although Delaney’s position as the US Marshall assigned to the brothers puts her in an off-limits position.

Kellan has had to adjust to a lot over the last few months, having his whole life ripped away from him and learning that his brothers have spent his whole life lying to him in order to protect him is a lot for anyone to come to terms with. On the surface, Kellan appears as if he has adjusted exceedingly well, taking everything in his stride, while internalizing all his pent-up frustrations. It is only when the inevitable happens with Delaney does Kellan find not only a passion to rival the sun in its heat but also a connection he wasn’t expecting, an understanding he never knew he needed.

Delaney has spent her life pouring her heart and soul into her career, so you know that when she takes the risk with Kellan there is a lot more than a quick fling going on, even if she tries to maintain that status quo. Delaney has invested so much of herself into her career and avoiding relationships due to her childhood and the choices of her parents that she didn’t realize the emotional support she had been missing.

There is a lot going on within the pages of Got It Bad, however, I will say the narrative focuses on the details of the Maguire brothers coming to terms with their past, accepting their situation and embracing their new lives enough to begin to plan their futures. Although the looming trail they have to testify in acts as a shadow over their happiness.

There are a few surprises in store, I loved the way in which Christi blended the serious and the quirky all together creating an amusing tale rather than a suspenseful one 💞 The mixture really, really worked. Getting to witness the beginning of each Maguire brothers HEA was inspiring, my only hope is that Christi writes a short story for Lucien 🙏

Following a memorable meet-cute, where Kieran Mullaney and Delaney Evans, debate grammar in some stunning banter and we quickly discover that Kieran is now Kellan Maguire, and Delaney is not just some hot co-ed looking for a lawyer to be. Nope, Delaney is the now the Maguire mens' handler as they enter protective custody and the Witness protection program, which is a huge surprise to the youngest Maguire. Now in Bandon Oregon, the Maguire's continue to draw the ire of their handler - they just can't seem to stay away from trouble, and Kellan is about to use that to his advantage - much to Delaney's delight.

This the first book by Christi Bart that I've read and it's clear to me why she's a bestselling author. The storytelling is so smooth, the writing flows so well, and the connection between Delaney and Kellan is simply magic. When Kellan and Delaney decide their attraction can't be denied, she makes the risk they take so very rewarding.

Delaney is a strong and sensible woman and her assessment of Kellan make him all the more irresistible He's the right balance of sensitive and alpha and fights for what he wants. Barth gives these characters so much life and there's plenty of action making for a suspenseful read. I have a ton of highlights which is how I know I loved a story. I am so intrigued by all three brothers and I'll be reading books 1 and 2 soon. 5 stars and recommendation!

3.5 to 4 star review of Got It Bad (Bad Boys Gone Good #3) by Christi Barth

I struggled to connect with this book, probably because I had no idea that this was book 3 in a series which in my opinion should be read in order based on my experience with this book. (Just my opinion though).

Kellan Maquire is the youngest of 3 Irish brothers who are all in Witness Protection thanks to the other 2 being part of the Mob. I can only imagine how frustrated and annoyed Kellan would be being forced into the Witness Protection program since he had nothing to do with the mob other than being related to his brothers.

Kellan falls for the US Marshal Delany Evans who is in charge of their case although he appears to be somewhat immature he did eventually evolve; which was just as well as Delany was out of his league. I struggled with the two of these characters getting together particularly since Delany was risking everything for her time with Kellan.

The writing was strong and the chemistry between Kellan and Delany was impossible to deny. What will happen when their relationship is discovered?

The "good guy" has it bad for Delaney, the woman who is tasked to keep him and his brothers safe. And of course, Delaney has it bad for Kellan, so sparks fly. I am a fan of all kinds of forbidden romance and this one falls into the category since Delaney is not supposed to have any kind of relationship with the people she is protecting and they have to keep it a secret. Keeping secrets is the theme of this book. Everyone is keeping secrets from someone else and no one is happy when they find out the truth.

What I really wanted to see in this book was some bonding between the three brothers. Kellan spends a large part of the book resenting his brothers from keeping secrets from him and I don't remember getting that vibe from him in the two previous books. He talks about his brothers been in the mafia with bitterness and I had no idea that things were so bad between the three of them and that bothered me. And it's not like they enjoyed been the bad guys. I liked the epilogue though. The three brothers were living normal lives with the women they loved and everything was good and that's the reason I don't mind that the series has ended. I am happy for all the couples and the epilogue ended on a lovely note.

If you have never read a book from this author, then, you are in for a real treat. Instant love for the characters; especially Kellan and Delaney. They were good for each other. I don't blame Delaney for breaking the rules where Kellan is concerned. He was hard to resist and I don't mean just on the eyes. He had a sweet side to him as well. Example is when he carved a heart with their initials (Ooh/Ahh). Yet, this book is not just all about Delaney and Kellan. Not that I am complaining. There is a nice storyline that goes with this book.

I have not read the prior novels that really focused on Kellan's brothers, Rafe and Flynn. Yet, after reading this book, I want to go back and read the other two books. From what I got to know of the other two brothers, they were good guys that just found themselves mixed up in a bad situation. Bad as in "mobster" level.

I’m ridiculously sad about the Bad Boys Gone Good series coming to a close. This trilogy by Christi Barth about three brothers from Chicago who move to small-town Oregon as a requirement of their witness protection program has been one of my favorite series of the year. I’ll miss these boys immensely.

In Got It Bad we get to see former law student turned WITSEC enrollee, Kellan, and his U.S. Marshal handler, Delaney, explore their uncontrollable chemistry. Really quickly in this book Delaney and Kellan give into their feelings for each other and make a pass at a relationship. After that most of this book is focused on them sustaining their relationship through the secrecy that must endure since their relationship is strictly forbidden by almost everyone’s standards. It’s also insinuated that their relationship must end after his brother’s trial in a few months. So, in Delaney’s mind, there is a time stamp on their relationship (though Kellan was a little bit more laissez-faire about the whole thing). The tension here regarding their secrecy, the trial, and their future was palpable.

The best part of this book was Kellan’s personal development. In Got It Bad Kellan found purpose both in his work and in his community. As well, he developed friendships and worked on telling his brothers/Delaney exactly what is on his mind. It was hard to not fall in love with Kellan as he pursued Delaney with such determination. I thought that Delaney, on the other hand, wasn’t super well-developed as a character even at the conclusion of this book. Beyond her profession and a very small piece of her life story, I didn’t feel like I “knew” her at the end of the book. I couldn’t tell you her style, her hobbies, or her quirks. I wanted to know more about her and the resulting lack of familiarity with the heroine made the book fall a bit flat.

Although I liked the previous two books of this series a whole lot more than Got It Bad, the story here did bring the overarching conflict to a close. As such, this book cannot be read as a standalone.

So long Maguire siblings! I’ll miss you, your ladies, and Bandon. Perhaps I’ll have a cranberry cocktail tonight and toast your new life 😊

This probably sounds crazy, but I love an author that leads me to love a character that I really didn’t like when I first meet them. Christi Barth does it with Kellan in Got it Bad and I admit I was surprised and really pleased when it happened.

Got it Bad is the final book in the Bad Boys Gone Good trilogy from Barth. I somehow missed book 2 in the series, which takes place concurrently with this one. I’m pretty sure that overall I would’ve had a richer experience having read Never Been Good, but I never felt like I was missing anything super important. Unlike books one and two, Got it Bad isn’t really about a bad boy going good. Instead Kellan, the youngest of the Maguire brothers in WITSEC, finally steps out of his brothers’ shadows and becomes the man he was meant to be.

Got it Bad is a sweet romance with a lot of fire between the main characters, but there’s a definite “should we or shouldn’t we” element to this love story. As Kellan’s official protector through the Federal Marshal’s office, Delaney definitely shouldn’t be getting involved with him. There’s no denying their chemistry or love at first sight and despite all her professional and personal misgivings Delaney can’t resist Kellan. I loved that even as Kellan is finding his way (more about that in minute) he’s absolutely sure about Delaney. It’s really up to her to decide if love is worth it and that part of the story ends well but Delaney’s journey getting there was frustrating for this reader for a variety of reasons, the biggest one being that I was a bit disappointed at Delaney’s unprofessionalism. It didn’t ring true for me.

The real star of this book is Kellan. When we meet him he is just about to graduate law school and put his smooth talking ways to work professionally. Personally he’s a playboy, his head filled with how he’ll get the next girl into bed. For me, this frat boy attitude was really off putting. I couldn’t imagine liking him or caring about his future with Delaney. But, wow, he emerges from the spoiled “prince” of the family into a guy I really liked. He wasn’t a criminal like his brothers, he was struggling with all their lies and their need to protect him from life. He wants nothing more that to stand on equal ground with them and watching him finally grow up and make that happen was great reading. The dynamics between the three brothers played out nicely and Kellan, in my opinion, really stood out among the three Maguires.

As a romantic suspense (the brothers are running from the mob and preparing to testify) Got it Bad falls a little flat. There’s potential for some excitement, but it never fulfils it and that was a little disappointing. The town of Bandon, where the brothers go to hide, is just as delightful as I remember from Bad for Her, and once again Barth created a town I’d move to in an instant!

3.5 Stars for Got it Bad. Heat level: 3

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for honest feedback.

From the first time they met, there was a spark between them, even though Delaney Evans was just doing her job to get Kieran Mullaney out of Chicago and into Witness Protection as quickly and quietly as possible. With every meeting they have, their chemistry grows as their verbal sparring acts as foreplay for their forbidden romance.

What happens, though, when the two people who don’t break the rules suddenly do? Kieran, now known as Kellan Maguire was completely innocent and had no idea of the real life his older brother’s were leading. He’s continued to play by the rules of Witness Protection, but he’s willing to break them all for a chance to be with Delaney. Delaney has played by the rules her entire life. Her career is everything to her and she is darn good at what she does, but for the first time in her life, she is putting everything on the line to be with one of her protectees. With so much to lose for both Kellan and Delaney, their love blossoms, even though it can’t possibly last. When the impossible happens, however, will Delaney be able to put her feelings aside to do her job or will Maguire brother’s fall victim to more than just heartache?

I’ve enjoyed this series and couldn’t wait to get to Kellan’s story. He and the lovely marshall have been verbally sparring through two books and I wanted to see how this doomed relationship could have a chance at a happy ever after. I was also dying to get Kellan’s take on his brothers and Witness Protection.

Kellan really is an all around good guy and romantic. Almost finished with law school, he gives it all up to stay with and support his brothers when they turned on the Chicago mob that Kellan didn’t even realize they were a part of. I love that he finally voices his real thoughts to Delaney as he’s kept it together so well. It was nice to see him break a bit and want more for himself.

We also find why Delaney is so career driven and why she never lets anyone close. She finally realizes she isn’t really living at all, which allows her to risk her heart and her career for a chance at happiness, even if it’s only for a short while.

Throughout the series, I have loved how close the Maguire brothers are, and Got it Bad highlights this as well. They all seem to support one another through thick and thin, and when Kellan feels like both his choice in love and a new career will pull him apart from his brothers, they instead ban together to support him in any way they can.

With everything on the line, hard choices need t be made by both Kellan and Delaney, and I love that the road to their HEA isn’t easy. It makes it so much more satisfying when they find their way to the end game.

The one thing I felt a bit cheated on was missing out on the specifics of the actual trial. It was glossed over, and after following the entire series, I wanted a bit more detail. That being said, I loved the ending and felt completely satisfied with how this series wrapped up. 5 stars.

And now we come to Kellan’s story. I really felt bad for Kellan. He’s the baby brother and as such, his two older brother kept him in the dark about so many things. He had no idea they were in the mob. He had no idea the details of his parent’s death. He was in law school with one semester left when his entire world was ripped from under him. He finds out his brothers are in the mob, Rafe has turned informer, they have to get ‘out of Dodge’ pronto and oh, that law degree he’s been working so hard for, the one he’s going to get for sure as he’s one of the best in his class? Well, forget it. It’s not going to happen. Now instead of living the life in Chicago, a real hit with the ladies and a born flirt, he’s now working in a cranberry factory somewhere in Oregon. And his brothers are still keeping things from him. About the only real fun in his life is flirting outrageously with his ‘handler’ Marshall Delaney Evans. He just doesn’t stop whenever she meets with them and it’s so adorable to see his relentlessness. What he doesn’t know is that Delaney is just as attracted to him and really enjoys his teasing and flirting. But because of the situation she has to remain professional at all costs and not let Kellan know he’s getting to her. She watched her mother give up everything for love and Delaney isn’t about to let that happen to her no matter how much she might want Kellan.

But when they finally give into their feelings; this is a romance after all, they are wonderful for each other. I love them as a team. Delaney totally gets why Kellan is upset – he had no say whatsoever in the 180 degree his life went. But at the same time he doesn’t want to confront his brothers as he loves them and knows they did what they felt they had to do. But he’s so angry they haven’t been honest with him. He’s frustrated with his job working on the line at the cranberry factory when his life trajectory was to be a lawyer. Delaney helps him sort things out as to what he really wants to do, even though he doesn’t want to tell his brothers ‘cause he thinks they will object.

And he helps Delaney see that love just makes one complete if it’s the right person. I love both of these two. From the first book on there were sparks between these two and nice to see they (and I’m almost snorting as I type this) can build a fire of love
.
This book and the first book are almost neck and neck for my favourite with the second book not far behind. The three off them together made a great reading journey and I’m thinking it very well might be a journey I take again so I give all of them a well deserved “You gotta read these”.

For me, surprisingly this has turned out to be a great series. Let me explain, I wasn't sure how I felt about heroes that were with the mob. Bad guys turning good? Not sure if that would work.

The author did a wonderful job of making you see that there was more to the brothers then what meets the eye.

Got it Bad is the third book in the Bad Boys Gone Good series and the only one of the brothers who wasn't in the mob. In fact he was going to school to become a lawyer. Weird right, two brothers are mobsters, one a soon to be lawyer.

Who would have thought it!

You have to really feel bad for Kellan. He didn't do anything to be put in the position he's in. That was all his brothers. I think he really handled it very well. He could have been so mad at them that he walked away from them, never to see them again, but he didn't. Instead he stood with them but kept growing as a person.

He's a character that I really liked. Now don't think for a minute I didn't like his brothers too, because as characters they are great. They are really great guys but they knew what they were doing and what their life choices could get them. Kellan was the only one not in the what for.

What surprised me was the fact that Delaney was his heroine. I knew they had chemistry but they are on two sides of the law. At least in the beginning. You'll have to read the story to figure out that tidbit.

I loved Got it Bad and reading about how Kellan and Delaney came together and fell in love. I really enjoyed their story and was so happy for them. They are really perfect together and just plain work. This turned out to be a wonderful romance.

I would read this series in order it will work better that way.

My Review:
The final book in this series that I've loved.

Kellan is the final brother, the one who was the legal one. In fact he was on the cusp of earning his law degree when he was whisked away with his brothers and placed into WITSEC. He didn't have much choice or any warning of the matter, and yeah, he remains a little bitter about it all.

What he's not bitter about is their Marshal handler, Delaney. He's seriously crushed on her from the very beginning, but she's rebuffed his advances at every turn. But that's not from a lack of interest on her part. She's VERY interested, but a relationship between her and one of her protectees is completely forbidden.

But as the story evolves, the two are thrown together more and more. Eventually they decide to scratch the itch...no harm can come from that, right? Yeah, you can see where this story is going.

This is the final book, so this is also the book where the trial is inevitable. This gives a certain level of suspense to the entire book that wasn't quite there in the other two books in the series. I really liked that, though.

Kellan is a great character. He's really been short-changed in this entire situation and this book it seemed like he finally came into his own, instead of staying in the shadow of his two older (bad-boy) brothers.

I've truly enjoyed the entire series and this was a really good ending to it. I loved watching how the guys are finally embracing their small-town, cranberry-filled life now. It's such a change from where they were at the beginning. The whole cranberry, town festival aspect to the story line kept me smiling as I read the book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest and voluntary review.

From the start of their stint in witness protection, Kelllan's had it bad for their handler, the dedicated Marshal Delaney Evans. And she's maybe got some feelings for Kellan too, except getting involved with the client you are trying to protect from the mob will land her out of a job.

But Kellan is persuasive and when Delaney gives in, she realizes a whole lot about what she's been missing in her life. I really loved their relationship -- Kellan is serious about Delaney and Delaney has to make some tough decisions about how far she can take things with Kellan. What starts out as a relationship with an expiration date turns into real feelings of love.

Got it Bad was one of the most romantic stories I've read this year. Kellen and Delaney are just so good together, and after what Kellen has given up for his brothers (also in witness protection) he really does deserve something good in his life.

Of course the mob is still looking for the brothers and there's a very exciting conclusion to this story as things wrapped up. Sorry, no spoilers, but the mob's reach goes far and the brothers are still at risk.

I do wish the first half of the book had been a little faster paced. Even though this is the "falling in love" part of the story, it did seem to drag a bit for me and that's why I'm rating this 4 stars instead of more. I was glad I stuck with the story though, because I really did love Kellan and Delaney together, and the conclusion was worth it.

Overall, a very steamy romance that had me rooting for this couple to find a way to be together. While you can read as a standalone, I do recommend reading the previous books in the series for more background on the brothers and their strong family ties.

What an ending to this series!

Many aspects were nicely tied up--all the "bad boys'" HEAs were solidified, Kellan and Delaney's relationship that we were teased about for Two. Whole. Books. finally came to fruition (I really can't re-read their meet cute too many times!), and Kellan managed to overcome his youngest-brother hangups/insecurities and both stand up to his brothers and figure out a life path for himself. All pure awesomeness.

But...

Conflict-wise, the story isn't terribly strong. Kellan and Delaney appear to have some real, solid reasons why they can't be together for a good chunk of the book that get "fixed" pretty quickly and painlessly. Not wholly unbelievably, but it just seems a bit anti-climactic. Also somewhat anti-climactic? That after three books of waiting for the big trial--the reason why they're all in the witness protection program--it happens off page. All of it. That was a bit of a letdown.

Still, relationship-wise, for all three brothers together as well as the three of them with their significant others, this was a highly satisfying story and a great ending to the series. I wouldn't suggest starting here--yeah, you probably get all the details you need for Kellan and Delaney's story within these pages, but I think you'd miss out on the relationships between the brothers if you did so. (Plus, chances are what you see of Sierra and Mollie will really make you want to see their stories too...don't say I didn't warn you!)

Rating: 4 stars / B+

The good guy has finally gone bad! With the final book in her Bad Boys Gone Good series, Christi Barth brings us the story of the straight and narrow brother Kellan. I had hoped for a little more drama surrounding how the series would end, but it was entertaining none-the-less. Kellan and Delaney didn't forge the connection that his brothers and their ladies did in the previous two books, maybe because she had been an on-going character throughout and wasn't just being introduced. Overall the series was fun.

Kellan Maquire was just a conceited almost lawyer with one semester yet to go when he was whisked away from the world he knew and into witness protection with his mobster brothers. Kellan still hasn't forgiven Rafe and Flynn for keeping it all a secret and for not giving him an option in how it all went down. He's basically just going through the motions of his boring job at the cranberry plant while his brothers embrace their new lives and new loves.

US Marshall Delaney Evans hasn't had it easy since she was assigned the Maquire brothers. They've been a thorn in her side for awhile now, but she can't deny that the youngest one really gets under her skin. When she makes the mistake of giving in to temptation and starting a secret fling with him, she knows her job is on the line if anyone finds out about them.

It is finally Kellen’s turn to have his story told. He is the one who has to have his life uprooted alongside his brothers due to their misdeeds even though he had no part in them. The only good thing about being in Witness Protection is their sexy handler Delaney.

Delaney’s career has been her main focus in her life. She has a need to help others but trying to keep the MacGuire brothers in line is not an easy task. The situation is further complicated by the feelings that Kellen raises in her and the fact that she needs to keep their relationship strictly professional.

The sexy banter escalates until the chemistry between them explodes but will their relationship destroy the career that Delaney has worked so hard to build?

I really enjoyed Kellen and Delaney together. They not only have great chemistry but it is the way that they see each other as they really are and not just what they show to others. It was great to catch up with his brothers as well. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Kellan and Delaney were the perfect end to this series! Kellan is smarter and generally “gooder” than his ex-mobster brothers. Until he loses his heart to their WITSEC handler. Then, he decides to break the rules and go for it with Delaney. Delaney is dedicated to righting the wrongs of her father by being the best Marshal out there. K breaks down all her barriers and makes it easy to break all the rules. An amazing story and I’m sad to see the end of this series.

I'm giving this somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars because overall, it did a good job at telling the love story and also wrapping up a series, however, I just wish that the action in this book would've been a bit more mob related. I was expecting a huge blow out, the court case, etc. BUT we didn't get that.

We did however, get cute date scenes, a secret relationship, Delaney opening up, and all the relationships wrapped up in a cute little bow.
