What does a gentlemen’s club, mysterious men in black, a dead body, a broken down car with a lady in dire need, a heavily pregnant beauteous sheriff’s deputy, and Miz Demetrice trying to unionize exotic dancers have in common? Why, it’s Bubba Snoddy and the day things went south, yet again. Quite naturally, or unnaturally, there’s a humdinger of a mystery, and Bubba is right in the middle of it.

C.L. Bevill has been in the U.S. Army, cleaned floors, a graphic illustrator, a therapist, and a stay at home mother. She lives in the Alabama area with her husband and daughter and keeps plugging away at the next great American novel.
I have enjoyed reading all the "Bubba" stories and this one is no different. Also looking forward to the birth of "Little Bubba" (no matter if I is a boy or a girl). I'm glad Bubba and Willowdean decided not to know in advance of the sex. Thanks for another great story, Mrs. Beville!!
Bubba finds himself being manipulated by his friend and strip club owner, Bam Bam. He gets suspicious but then gets confirmation that he was expected to find another dead body. What he doesn't expect is all that goes on in trying to discover who murdered the man. There was a lot going on in this book and it was all worth it! Bubba was still trying to be a southern gentleman while also being true to his wife, Willowdean. He knows that he has to tread carefully with her since she is 6 months pregnant and prone to Mace anyone who crosses her. He finds himself questioning what is going on throughout this book. He realizes that there are more governmental agencies watching his town than he thought. He finds himself in the middle of their investigation and is left to wonder how that happened. It was very entertaining and I really liked how it all played out.
The previous book in the series was too over the top for me to love, but this one is back to "just right." What's a Southern gentleman to do when a lady who just happens to be an exotic dancer (though some call her a stripper) needs a lift? And how can he not return her purse when she leaves it on the truck seat? And yet, how will he explain it to his mother, or worse yet, his very pregnant wife? (Bubba has this thought: And ifin Willodean is mad at me, I might very well get a bologna, banana, and pickle sammich in my next lunch, or even worse. Might be kitty litter in it, and we ain’t got a cat.) Add in a body and the scene is set for shenanigans and fun.
If you like your mysteries with a heavy dose of humor, you should start at the beginning of the series and read on.
Another dead body....you bet or else it just wouldn't be Bubba.
Bubba was lured by his friend Bam Bam to his club by having one of his exotic dancers pretend that her car wouldn't start knowing Bubba would never not stop to help a lady stranded on the side of the road. Once at the club Bubba discovers the dead body. The dead man is the exact image of Bam Bam and the mystery takes off from there. And surprise...the body disappears.
I have to say that I really love this series. It is thoroughly entertaining and filled with laugh out loud humor which I enjoy.
Bubba gets tricked into finding another "you know what", this, time in a strip club - I mean exotic dance venue. (Girls! Girls! Girls! Free buffet on Tuesday!) Assisted(?) by his mother, his VERY pregnant sheriff deputy wife, and a familiar looking exotic dancer (pyschiatrist/superhero/pirate/streamline super villain), Bubba solves the mystery and saves the day! Brilliant!
U absolutely love the Bubba series by C.L. Bevill. I can hardly wait from book to book. All the words she makes up remind me of my Dad and brings back good memories. I would recommend this book to all my friends and encourage my grandchildren to read it. Can't be to young or too old to enjoy a Bubba book!
People if you have not read any of this series y'all are missing out. Intrigue, suspense, and laugh out loud freaking funny is the simplest way to describe Bubba Mysteries. Start at the beginning and enjoy, believe me ya won't regret it. Definitely recommend this book, this series and this author.
I loved this book I have a busy and stressful life, but this book was a lifesaver at the end of the day! I loved the stripper names my favorite being Alotta Fagina lol cracked me up every time I read it!
Keep writing I love reading your books, especially the way you it together your words.sometimes I can't keep my self from laughing out loud.i was reading at my doctors office, broke out laughing.my doc thought I had lost my mind Thanks caren
Really good series of books but I'd rather not know you are a democrat! Leave the political views out of the books. I would rather not buy books with political statements. Not the platform and you could lose readers. Just sayin.
The book was pretty good just wish she would stop calling people by their full name when the whole chapter is about them. And most of names she made up to describe Willowdean needs to stop.
I really like the characters in this series. They are fun, funny and altogether larger than life. They make me laugh out loud. I recommend reading this series in order.
