The Color of a Christmas Miracle by Julianne MacLean is an amazing story!
The pages practically turned themselves! I was so 'caught up' in the joy and celebrations, pain and sorrow, heartbreak and hope in Claire's life, that I could not put this book down until I finished reading it.
I highly recommend this exceptionally well written romantic story!
Thanks to Julianne MacLean for an ARC of her latest book in exchange for an honest review.
The Color Of A Christmas Miracle by Julianne MacLean is a heart wrenching story surrounding the topic of infertility. When having a baby becomes the sole focus, it drains everyone and cracks in relationships start to appear. The novel is about friendship and families, support and kind hearts. Both love and sadness radiate from the story. There are the themes of hurt and forgiveness. Forgiveness frees us from the bondage of bitterness, consuming us from the inside out. The effects of forgiveness can be far reaching. Second chances, new beginnings and hope all feature within this beautiful novel. Written in the first person, the reader 'feels' and 'understands' the highly charged emotions of the lead character. We 'experience' the bumpy ride of life alongside the character. A heartfelt and gut wrenching read. This book is book twelve in the Color Of Heaven series but can be read as a stand-alone. It is also part of a box set called Christmas Miracles. I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
I was looking for a book to put me in the mood for Christmas. I like a good Hallmark type of book. Unfortunately, this book was predictable and trite. It was okay but not to my liking.
Claire had lost her father in a freak accident . The color of a Christmas miracle She had her sister and mom for love and support but always had issues with being afraid of loosing people she loved. Wes came into her life and they had so much in common. After they bought a home and were settled they started trying to have a baby. Claire had made friends with the couple across the street who were going through the same issues. She quickly became best friends with Angie. One day her life as she knew it was done Wes and Angie took off together. The twists and turns keep you in suspense I love it what a wonderful Christmas story
This was just what the doctor ordered for me today. This was a bit shorter I believe than the other books in the series and probably a bit more predictable but still a great spiritually purging story. I found this series as an Amazon deal and have since read every book. They all share common themes--the unpredictability and harshness of life but also the magical way in which that same life constructs itself to set you on the right path. These are stories with sadness but also of hope and faith; that everything happens for a reason and that no matter how sharp the pain, in the end, it was just what had to happen.
😳 I love Julianne Maclean's writing, BUT this one was just a little bit too much. I understand the author believes in forgiveness and I totally agree. However, bending over backwards to basically " reward" someone that has destroyed your entire life is just too over the top. The main character not only forgives, but she does something so over the top that it left a very bad taste in my mouth. 🤯

An inspiring must read Christmas book that will open your heart to family love. Powerful reminder of the goodness of forgiveness and embracing new life. I absolutely love this series of books. They move my heart.
Apparently, Christmas themed books all fall into the same category as Hallmark Christmas movies - cheesy, predictable, with a heavy dose of drama, and the mandatory happy ending. If that's your thing, this is probably a book for you. Otherwise, I'd suggest moving on.
The storyline was sad, but it was also predictable. Claire Radcliffe had a perfect life, perfect husband, perfect everything but was unable to have children. The pressure of her infertility was too much for her husband who fell head over heels into the neighbor's arms. He ran away with her, and naturally, Claire and her neighbor's ex husband also fell in love. The bigger issue I had though was Claire's absolute perfection. Her only "flaw", was her inability to have children. Her self- sacrificial and almost martyral attitude was, dare I say, obnoxious? I mean, she gave $2million to the child of her former husband and former best friend because he deserved it. Of course, all her kindness paid off, she ended up marrying her neighbor and going on to have a perfect child. In retrospect, it was less of a Christmas movie, and more cheesy than anything else. While it acknowledge the pain of infertility, I felt it glossed it over in favor of the drama between Claire and the other characters. In the end, she wasn't infertile at all and she got her miracle baby, a fact which felt just too perfect and made her whole life a complete fairy tale.
Excellent and very emotional story. The world would be a much better place to live, if there were more of Claire in it. She is so selflessly compassionate even though she has her own abandonment issues. Scott is a dream come true, he is such a good man and is just there, a strong support for her as they go through such betrayal--which I knew would happen but was still shocked when it did. Claire had so much trust that she was in the clouds and in denial, so focused on having a child that she ignored the signs but she is strong and deserves the love of a man who will be completely devoted to her. Scott seemed a bit reserved and I would have loved to read a little more about his point of view or feelings but I guess that's not very manly. :) I needed tissue for this one, lol. Great couple, absolutely love reading their journey to love & blessings.
The Color of a Christmas Miracle is the story of love and betrayal. What happens when your friend and your husband betray you? This story will share with you what will happen. As always the author gets your attention and guides you through the story so well that when you get to the end of the story you will wonder how this happened. I never saw it coming. Each book she writes takes you on different paths in life. No matter how bad things are right now, she shows you there is a way to not only survive but to find happiness. Everyone needs a really good book to get you through the stressful parts of the Christmas season and this is the one you really need to read.
What a heart breaking, heart warming story. Imagine, how can that be possible to feel those opposite emotions in one book? Julianne MacLean an amazing storyteller has done just that in The Color of a Christmas Miracle. The story revolves around four main characters and initially there is joy and happiness in every sense, but then comes a shocking twist. You will proceed on a rollercoaster ride through pain and humiliation and finally love and forgiveness. The Color of Heaven series are well written, storylines are absolutely amazing and I love the twists and turns throughout. I could not put this book down.
3.5 stars. While this book is part of series, you can easily read it as a standalone. Though I highly recommend you read the series because Julianne MacLean does such a good job of creating rich characters with thought provoking storylines. You will recognize Claire and Bev if you read The Color of a Silver Lining.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. I needed tissues with this one. This book is an enjoyable holiday story of the power of forgiveness.
The Color of a Christmas Miracle (The Color of Heaven Series Book 12)
The story of Scott, Angie, Claire and Wes. Claire and Wes were marry and all they wanted was to have a baby. They try for years and nothing happen. Scott and Angie move next door to Claire and Wes. Angie and Claire become best friends, she told Angie all about their problems. A day after Christmas,Wes told Claire he no longer wanted to be with her. Wes run off with Angie, can Claire and Scott get over it? Great story.
The story was somewhat predictable but with a couple of unexpected twists. This is the second book I read in this series. It appears they are all stand alone stories. This one and the other one I read were both complete in themselves without cliff hangers to make you feel you HAD to read the entire series. I appreciated that. I may choose to try another one just because I liked the two I read. This one was definitely more to my liking than the first one I read.
Although there’s lots of heartache and sadness in this book, it’s still a feel-good book because the main character is such a beautiful person and, of course, is very happy at the end. This book is really different from the others in the series and is more stand-alone that the others but I still recommend the whole series. Now I’m on to the last one. I have other books I want to read but finishing this series is first!
Story 3.75 Narration 4 stars. Still loving this series but if I’m being honest there were some things I didn’t care for this time. The angst is revved up majorly and some of the heroine’s choices(really one big one)left a lot to be desired. The main problem in the story was one I could see coming a mile away. But all in all, I enjoyed the listen as usual. There’s also magic involved of sorts that never gets explained as to how it happened, etc. Got the next one ready to listen to though.
Claire is a happy teacher, who has found her perfect husband in her colleague. Buying a new house of their own is a signal to take the next step in their family life. However, trying for a baby starts to put a strain on their well suited lifestyle. Once diagnosed with partial infertility, Claire has to confront the fact that her partner may not be all that she thought him to be. A story of how forgiving can be liberating.
Claire Radcliff is a married woman obsessed with having a baby. As often happens, her marriage starts to crack under the pressure. She's surprised when this happens, but over time starts to adjust to her new reality with her neighbor, Scott, as support. This really wasn't much of a Christmas story. I found Claire very annoying and I missed the supernatural element many of the other books have.
Going against popular opinion here, but this was pure malarkey. Marlarkey sweetened with honey, syrup, molasses, sugar, with a big serving of hot fudge, caramel sauce, whipped cream, maraschino cherries (plural) and topped with SWEETENED NUTS (our heroine😜). Call me a cynic, but don't ever call me stupid.
I received a free e-book from the author in an email promotion. The book delivered exactly what I desired which was a delightful and largely predictably predictable read!
I didn't foresee everything but overall I got the happy ending I hoped for. This was an easy basically one sitting read. Recommend.
Twists, turns and surprises throughout this book will keep you captivated to the very end. Characters you will love and a couple of characters you will love to hate will keep you wrapped up in their stories. True love, hate, forgiveness and redemption come full circle back to true love in this memorable story.
I felt so sad for Claire and her betrayal. Life is not fair, but it can still be beautiful. I have read all 13 of the books in this series now, and feel that it was a great use of my time. They have helped me remember how blessed I am, and how grateful I am for my family.
I have loved this series and after each novel you think it can’t get any better but it just keeps you wanting more and more. The story lines in each book is such an uplifting story line with some of them a bit of a twist and others continues on in the next novel. Highly recommend this series, such easy and enjoyable reading.
Julianne MacLean does it again with the Color of a Christmas Miracle. Claire has suffered loss at an early age, fear grips her at every turn, fear of abandonment. She finally feels her life has changed and with the love of her life. Things start to turn in her life, she must find the strength to persevere and follow her heart
This was not my favorite of the series but my original 3 stars increased to 4 after the ending. The first half was not very eventful but it did get better during the last half. I really liked the message the author expressed towards the end so that made a lasting impression and improved my rating.
I can't believe I'm almost finished with this series! MacLean is such a wonderful writer and develops all of her characters into interesting and deep individuals. I have one book left to read...here I go!
I skipped book 11 of this series because of the idea of reincarnation in fiction. But this book got back to what I like about MacLean writing. Simple and miraculous, making positive out of tragic situations. I read this book in like two days after giving up on the color of a promise book
