The Boy, Broken by M.C. Webb
Four Stars

The Boy, Broken is full of mystery, suspense and romance by M.C. Webb. This book is a stand alone, but has characters from Breaking the Girl are mentioned. I enjoy Ms. Webb’s writing style and enjoy the way she makes you feel the struggles of the characters in her books. This book hooked me from the very first page. I read it in one sitting. Reece and Adaline are from completely different backgrounds, but both have had less than ideal childhoods. The story is full of twists and turns and I love the fast paced keep you on the edge of your seat momentum of this book. This book left me with a book hangover, as I can’t stop thinking about it. I would suggest that you read Breaking the Girl first because there are spoilers in this book that will give away something’s in the first book. I highly recommend this book and author.

The girl was more broken than the boy

In The Boy, Broken we have two characters worried about shaming the family that raised them. Reece and Adeline were forced to deal with the past. While one man held all the secrets for both their futures.
Reece was tattooed and scarred. While Adeline was pristine wearing her expensive designer clothes and shoes. Her father was a televangelist who instilled the importance of image. Adeline was spoiled who only dated upper class guys with a pedigree.

Axel and Peyton, characters from Breaking the Girl, were in this story. They don’t necessarily add much growth to the story, but it was nice to get caught up in their current status.

The story was written in alternating points of view between Reece and Adeline. They have a lust/hate interest in each other. Adeline with her spoiled upper class attitude and Reece with his broody angry attitude. They clashed. Complete opposites.

The execution for Reece confronting his past was slow and anticlimactic. I expected more explanations and reasons for the tortured past. I was also hoping for more excitement considering a character was stalking Adeline. But once again that revelation was anticlimactic as well.

Normally I can ignore a few grammatical errors, except this time it interfered with the understanding of some of the material. I already was struggling with this execution. This story was not flowing or transitioning well. I’m disappointed by this story considering I love Marlene’s other books but this doesn’t read like any of her other books. The writing was dull.

This opposites attract storyline was not working for me at all. Adeline’s attitude about her clothes and her drunkenness bored me. Reece’s attitude about wanting Adeline despite her whining grated on my nerves. Trying to make these characters work was useless. I’d rather read about the pieces of the past that were haunting Reece’s future.
I felt like I missed a vital part of the story. The pieces of Reece’s and Adeline’s lives didn’t connect.

The Boy, Broken
By: M.C. Webb
5 out of 5 stars

The story The Boy, Broken by M.C. Webb is a book that I enjoyed reading. It is a book that has mystery and is also the story of two people who find they are attracted to each other. This is the story of Reece LeDoux and Adeline Stokes. Their attraction to each other is sometimes hard to tell as they both have conflicted feelings about one another and seem to push each other away as much as they are drawn to each other. Emotions change from one minute to the next and you read of how they mostly argue with each other. The emotions of anger, desire, and lust are what these two are feeling. He believes her to be spoiled and that she feels entitled to things, however, he can’t seem to stay away from her or she from him. The past can have an effect on the life that you live and no one knows this better than Reece. Is there any chance of Reece and Adeline finding themselves in a relationship? There are also strange things happening in Adeline’s life. Some of them have her paranoid. Why are they happening to her and is she in danger? This story does have a mystery that will have you asking questions and wondering how it all will end. It is also a story that had my emotions changing as fast as the emotions of the main characters. There are times where I got frustrated however I still had hope that these two would end up together. There are also heartbreaking scenes as well. There are a couple of other characters in this book that really loved reading about. They are friends with Adeline and Reece. This is a story that you will not be able to put down until you have finished the final page. This is an author who writes amazing stories with amazing characters. I can’t wait to read what she writes next. This is a book that includes mature subject matter and also some scenes that may be hard for some to read about. It would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.

The Boy, Broken by MC Webb is a story that about mystery, suspense with some romance mixed in. This is a story about two people who find attraction for each other but bad decisions and bad past can make things difficult for them. I think this is my favorite book of this authors yet. I enjoy her creative writing style and details that pull me into the story without even trying. Her characters are creative, connectable and lovable. These characters go on a roller coaster ride of emotions themselves but they will also take you to the same place. This is the story of Reece and Adeline. Reece has a past that he is trying to move forward from. So he moves to a new town but trouble seemed to have followed him there. He was looking for a better life for himself but this move has been anything but that. What will happen when his decisions get him mixed up in lies and secrets? Adeline lies right in the middle of his troubles. She is driving him crazy, just when he thinks that he has a break from her, she pops up. What will happen when his past comes crashing into her present? Is what is lurking in the shadows a key to their survival? Or will it be the end of them both? I enjoyed both of these characters. They have such attraction for each other but yet they can't seem to stand each other. They push each other way as much as the attraction pulls them together. She is spoiled and entitled and he is the complete opposite. Their emotions are all over the place with each other but honestly, I kept hoping they find their happily ever after. I enjoyed the secondary characters as much as the two main characters. It was great seeing them all one group of friends and supportive. I highly recommend this book as I know you will want to see what happens when two people are pulled by attraction but yet have nothing in common.

The Boy, Broken by M.C. Webb 5 stars

This book is a rollercoaster of emotions! The characters had me laughing and crying. It was easy to get lost in the lives of Reece LeDoux and Adeline Stokes. These characters were so real and true to life, I found myself not able to put this book down. Adeline was raised to be prim and proper. She has a shoe fetish and most of her shoes cost more than the average person makes in a month! She puts on a front of being better than everyone else, but her best friend Peyton knows her better than that. She has seen things in her life no one should be witness to. through it all, she holds her head high, shoulders back, and walks on in her designer stilettos. Reece is a man who is faithful to a fault. His best friend is Peyton's husband and they have been through thick and thin together. Reece would do anything for anyone, but has also lived a life no one should have to endure. He has a huge heart, but hates privileged people. Both Reece and Adeline find themselves doing things out of the norm. Adeline's biggest wish is to be a normal girl. My heart went out to her. She thinks of her family over herself most of the time. Her biggest fear is having her secrets revealed and shaming her dad. Reece also wants to keep his secrets buried, but finds himself opening up to her. They come from two different worlds and judged each other by their appearance. Through some fortunate and unfortunate events, they keep running into each other.

This is one of those books that the characters will leave a lasting impression on you. They are both brave and weak at the same time. I found myself loving them one moment and hating them the next. This is a dual POV book. It is a standalone, but follows the events of the book Breaking the Girl. Both of these books are worth reading!

The Boy, Broken
By M. C. Webb

Wow! It’s not very often I struggle to find the words to write about a book but this one has really left me a little speechless. This is the second book that I have read by this author and I’m pretty sure that one left me feeling the same way too!
The Boy, Broken was an outstandingly written story about two completely amazing characters who had both suffered during their childhood. Through flashbacks we were taken back in time to see what happened to both Reece and Adaline when they were young and both stories had me in tears – especially Reece’s! Oh my gosh that poor, poor man! I just wanted to leap into this book and give him a hug (amongst other things!)
I absolutely loved both Reece and Adaline; their story was just so captivating. I had no idea what was going to happen, there was twists and turns everywhere and I was on the edge of my seat more than once. But for me the overriding thing of this story was the two amazing characters – I was just completely in love with them both. The way the author brought these two characters to life was wonderful, I truly felt like I was seeing their story in front of my eyes. I loved their love/hate relationship and was rooting for them the whole time!
Although this book could be read as a standalone I would highly recommend reading Breaking the Girl first where we meet Axel and Payton, especially as they appear in this book too!
I really cannot recommend this story enough; it was emotional, full of suspense and had amazing characters that I instantly fell in love with. I can’t wait to read more from this talented author in the future.

The Boy, Broken by M.C. Webb

So this is my first book by this author and at first I was a bit worried because it took me a few chapters to get hooked, but then...There was no putting it down until I read the last word. After checking and getting the feeling I was missing something about a couple of people in this book I see that there was one before this one and I will be reading that as soon as possible. It's not that I was missing something important as far as THIS story, it was just that I could tell there was history between some of them and I want this history!

This story was amazing, and the interaction between Reece and Adeline was awesome. Two people with such drastic differences and some of the most haunted pasts I've ever read about should never even consider being together, and that's pretty much how they see it. There were a few instances in this story that literally made me LOL and I'm not sure they were meant to be humorous as this is a very serious story, but most of the time I was scared, I was worried, I was sad, and a whole lot angry! The subtle twists and turns this story took and the dual POV’s made this a fantastic read.

I am not sure what a third book in this story would be about, but there is one character that I'd love to know more about, I was left feeling that there is a whole lot more to his story that we can even imagine and checking back in on these characters to see what their futures hold would be awesome.

I have a new author to follow, and I can't wait to look up her other books and will be watching for anything new as well.

Oh, and the cover of this book is simply beautiful, and just fits in every way!

LOVED IT!!!

The Boy, Broken by M.C Webb is a superb story that hooked me right from the very beginning and wouldn’t let me go till I had read every word. It has a lot going on in it; with suspense, some mystery, action, drama, danger and of course there’s the very spicy romance.
I loved the tension, on several different levels, that the author has infused into the story. The characters were so well developed, with complete back stories that were interesting, complex and heartbreaking. All the characters added something important to this wonderful story and they all had fully realised personalities. I loved catching up with characters from a previous book, who play a part in this story as well, and finding out what was happening in their lives, also.
Adeline and Reece had quite a push-pull relationship to begin with. There was quite a bit of tension, friction and misjudgment on both their parts- but with an underlying current of undeniable chemistry and attraction. This leads to some interesting, funny and charged interactions between them.
When the past comes back to haunt Adeline, bringing danger, terror and death into their lives- will these two get a chance for their feelings to develop into something more, or will their future be snatched away from them, permanently.
Another brilliant book from this incredibly gifted author. I am always blown away by her stories and she never ceases to amaze me with her work. I can’t wait to read her next book!

Thank you, Ms. Webb!

Title:The Boy, Broken
Author:M.C. Webb

The Boy, Broken was a great 5 star read.

You get pulled in right from the beginning. This is Reece and Adeline’s story.
Adeline meets Reece when he is arresting her after another drunken evening. There is something about her that pulls Reece in and he can’t stop thinking about her.

Why I keep thinking about her is beyond my understanding.

Fate keeps bringing these two together in different situations, I have to say I really liked the bathroom/shower incident, I was LOL. This high-minded brat of a girl is going to kill me.

I actually go from LOL to crying, the memories that Reece has of his grandmother broke my heart and had me in tears. Adeline was a hard one for me to really like at first, she always seemed so whiny and acted like a Princess, eventually once I learned more about her I really came to like her. Reece was an alpha male that had a heck of a life growing up and than another big loss in his life, he had my heart from the start. I kept my fingers crossed hoping for a HEA, it wasn’t an easy journey thats for sure, I loved the ending. The secondary characters were great, Adeline had Caleb, he was always watching out for her. There are some scenes that may be triggers for some. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down, M.C. Webb does a great job with her writing and you are done before you know it. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Webb has written a “surreal” adventure with murder, abuse, friends and most importantly, love. Adeline and Reece are the most unlikely two people to be friends much less to be lovers. Mostly due to Adeline’s upbringing. She was raised spoiled, where everything that really matters is what others think about you and how you look. I felt like she knew she was raised “wrong” but she didn’t know how to change herself. Webb was able to bring out a character that I did not like. I could agree with Reece about Adeline’s snooty attitude. Then there’s Reece. He was very abused as a child. He was ashamed of his parents’ choices, like he had anything to do with the choices or the parents. It seems like Reece didn’t let the abuse affect him but his scars were what bothered him most.
When these two opposites meet there is an instant flame between them. A very lustful, taboo kind of flame. They try to deny each other and their feelings. Until they can’t. With the help from someone in Adeline’s past, the two grow into better adults.

There is even a book one, Breaking the girl. The main characters from that story are the best friends of Adeline and Reece, so they make a few appearances through-out this book. But I didn’t find that I had to read that one first to understand this one. I definitely want to read it now though! I recommend this story.

The Boy, Broken
By M.C. Webb
4 Stars

The Boy, Broken is the first book by this author that I have read, and I enjoyed it! It had suspense, mystery and some romance all thrown into one book and it pulled me in from page one. The author’s writing style was good and she was able to make you feel what the characters were feeling and there are MANY different feels throughout this book.
Reese and Adaline are the main characters in this book and they were nothing short of hot hot hot. Adaline was a spoiled princess who expected everything to be fixed for her and for that it took me a while to decide if I liked her. I did end up liking her and I was eager to see where her story was headed. Reece is the alpha male type that I just couldn’t help but have a soft spot for. He has a rough past, but he had a ginormous heart! They were both good characters and I loved watching them grow and overcome their own obstacles throughout the book.
After reading other reviews I found out that I should have read Breaking The Girl BEFORE this one and I agree with that but not having read it yet, I still think the author did a good job of making sure I wasn’t lost and she did a good job making it feel almost like a standalone. But there are a few spoilers for that book in this one!
I look forward to reading more by this author and I would recommend this one to a friend!

MC Webb has done it again with another amazing book; The Boy, Broken is a story that would be enjoyed most after reading breaking the girl. With that being said it is great on its own but really so much better after Breaking The Girl. The story is told from both Reece and Adeline’s point of view during the past and present. Reece has a past but no matter how much he avoids Adeline she keeps popping up, and it drives them both crazy. What do you get when you mix a man with a messed up past with a wealthy popular girl… a whole lot of sexual tension, denial, and the moment everything blends and the past and present become one. But once everything comes to light will Reece and Adeline still be able to move forward.
The story is full of push and pull between the characters, it adds in a lot of sexual tension, and love/hate since you get both when it comes to Reece and Adeline. There are parts in the story that keep you hooked and you start questioning things and wonders what just happened but once you get to the end certain things are brought to light. The story is great and so amazing after reading Breaking The Girl. I would suggest this story be for 18+ for some of the scenes.

The Boy, Broken is a great book by M.C. Webb. Though not part of a series and can be read as a standalone, I think it should be read after Breaking the Girl. There is so much depth to all of the characters, not just the main ones. There was just so much going on for both Reece and Adeline that stemmed from their pasts and you don't really understand the tragic events in their lives even after you learn the history for them both.

This is not the normal love at first sight story that is for sure. There is the love/hate aspect to a degree but not at all what you would expect. I had several moments when I really wanted to punch Adeline for either being rude or stupid. Reece broke my heart and I just wanted to take care of him even though he is a big boy and didn't need it.

Axel and Payton are also involved but they are in no way a distraction but more of a compliment to the story and I was happy to see that. I have been thinking about Josh a lot and really hope I won't have to wait long for his story. There was just something about him, knowing he has a pretty deep and I'm guessing dark past has me thinking about what it could be. I have really enjoyed the two books I have read by Ms. Webb and will be reading the others released as well as keeping an eye out for new ones.

The Boy, Broken by M.C. Webb is a dark and gritty story. It can be read as a stand-alone book or as the follow on to Breaking The Girl.

This book follows the story of Reese and Adeline. Their tale is so entwined with emotion that it is impossible to separate one from the other.
This book was nothing at all to what I was expecting from reading the blurb, something that was evident from the moment I started to read the prologue. It had me hooked immediately, and I was on edge about what was going to happen.

The connection between these two characters aaa utterly enthralling and I couldn’t stop reading about them. With every page I wanted to know more, I became more invested in them and wanted to fall even deeper into the emotions this book evoked.
I had to point out that this is one book I am purposely staying away from describing as, how I did, I think every reader should go on blind or with a different expectation. The surprise I got as to how tho book developed is something I think everyone should experience. A brilliant read and an author I already know I will be one clicking in future!

What does a man with a past have in common with a wealthy socialite? Absolutely nothing. And yet Reece keeps finding himself in the path of Adeline. She’s making life miserable for him, and for herself. Why is being good so difficult? Caught between her desires and her need to be good for the sake of her family’s reputation, Adeline feels the pressure on a regular basis. But is that haughty attitude Adeline puts on for real?

Reece is hiding secrets of his own. He moves out to Texas to start over, but it seems that trouble continues to follow him no matter where he goes. He’s really trying to make a life for himself, but bad decisions are really mucking up his progress.

As Reece finds out more about Adeline, things become dangerous. A mysterious man shows up and the past quickly bleeds into the present.

I found this story entertaining. It made for a great distraction while I was recovering from an illness in bed. I think we’ve all experienced a piece of the type of interaction Reece and Adeline have in this story at one point or another.

Wow. This book. It pulled at my heart strings so much. Seriously, there was so much sadness and emotion! I know that Breaking The Girl made me feel exactly the same.

I would say that if you are planning to read Breaking the Girl, I would read that first. Just because there are spoilers in this book.

Reece, I have no words for Reece. His story is amazing and so sad. It seriously got me right at the beginning. A child should not have to go through that. But then Adeline also had a horrific childhood but that did not hit me in the feels as much as Reece’s.
When they are together I found myself smiling and laughing at their behaviour. Their story was so amazing, I honestly could not guess anything that was going to happen. I love books like that because it keeps me guessing and I like surprise.

M.C Webb you are an amazing writer. I love your work so far. Your stories are so well written.

Overall, this story was amazing. It made me feel so much.

The Boy, Broken by M C Webb

5 Stars!!!!

I do like my romances and I do love trying out new genres of romance. This book was yet again a new experience for me and I really quite enjoyed it. The author has a very unique way of having the story unfold. I was really drawn into all the intrigue in this book. The story unfolds so nicely it had me glued to the page I couldn't wait to see what was gonna happen next.

The way that Reece and Adeline story line develops is so refreshing. There are a few twists and turns in this book that I didn't see coming and I really was intrigued and couldn't put the book down. You just fall in love instantly with Reece and as for Adeline it took me a bit to warm up to her but in the end it was good. The way that she sort of brings him into her life and forces him to confront his own demons whilst battling hers had me not wanting to put the book down. I cannot wait to read other books by this author. I have found a new romance genre to get hooked on!

The Boy, Broken by M.C. Webb tells the story of Reece LeDoux and Adeline Stokes. Reese is looking to start a new drama free life in a small Texas town but those plans go up in smoke when he meets Adeline. Adeline is sexy, spoiled and oh so very tempting. Unfortunately these two would rather argue than see where the mutual attraction they both have for each other could lead. They might not have much choice but to deal with their feelings when they are thrown together by mysterious events.

I honestly loved this book. The plot was well thought out and the mystery aspect kept me guessing until the end. The romance part of the story was also really well done and just goes to show that when two people really love each other they will give their all. The story is paced nicely and never felt to be missing anything. A bit of a keep you guessing kind of book for me. Definitely a five star review worthy book and I can’t wait to read more by Ms. Webb.

The Boy, Broken by M.C. Webb is a follow up story to Breaking the Girl and it was a pretty great second book. Adeline and Reece both come into this book as broken people who have to face the past before they can be together in the now. The juxtaposition between these two characters couldn’t have been made more obvious, from their upbrings to even the way that they talked or dressed. The way that they ended up together was a bit unbelievable since they didn’t even seem to run in the same circles. This book was definitely about the love/hate relationship between these two characters and at times it made the book almost too difficult to read. I did like how Webb did this book from both perspectives, but it seemed to drag on at points. Because I liked Breaking the Girl so much, I really wanted to like this book more. I have read several of M.C. Webb’s books in the past, and loved them all, I just wanted more from this book.

I love Reece

Reece was a favorite part of the first book. His loyalty to Axel and Payten is amazing and reminds me of the true value of friendship- bc he will literally help you bury the body...
He is the saving grace of this book, and the whole reason I read it, start to finish. If this had been Adeline’s story, I would have stopped reading 1/4th of the way through. Adeline is a vapid, self-centered brat with very few redeeming qualities. I swear, I didn’t even like her a little until 75% through the book. However, the author continues creating well-developed characters... despite the fact that I still have no idea why Reece loves her.
Oh and the editing was atrocious throughout, which played a huge part of my 3* review. When you have that many grammatical and spelling errors in a book, it becomes distracting. If it’s updated to correct those, I would consider it a 4* work.

The Boy Broken by MC Webb is a story that incorporates alot mystery, suspense with a romantic basis in it . This story is about two people who have an intense attraction for each other but one persons bad decisions and a rough past can cause issues and make things fairly difficult for the characters.Ive not had a chance to read anything by MC Webb before and I’m glad I’ve now take. The time to do so. This story is woven in such a good way that there is something for every type of romance reader. You’ve got suspense, romance, lust, chemistry, mystery, fun, and even finally love. I really enjoyed how her writing style and details she includes makes it feel as if you know these characters for real. Her characters are creative, connectable, dramatic, and honest which allows you to fall in love with them and their story over and over again! I couldn’t stop reading!

The boy, Broken by M.C. Webb simply was a read that grabbed me and still has not let me go. M.C. Webb truly hit this one head on. We have two strong characters that both are so worried about bringing shame to their families. Both so different, yet going through some of the same things. Reece is broken and Adeline so put together. While both struggle and the rollercoaster they both had to travel is sad, I couldn’t imagine this book being what it was without it.
The surprises in this book, the complex characters and everything that they had to go through simply made this book. I am able to feel the emotions of the characters, I was able to close my eyes and see what each of them had to go through. As a reader, that is very important factor to me. This book is a spin off of the book, Breaking the Girl by M.C. Webb, I have not read this yet buts its waiting on my kindle!!!

This is definitely one of those books that will have you wanting to beat someone!! Reece has had a tortured childhood. Literally...the things he suffered as a child are truly horrific and soul destroying. Adeline on the other hand is a spoiled little rich girl, really really spoiled. She wants for nothing, well maybe that's not entirely true.....
I really really struggled to like Adeline. By the end of the book, i didn't love love her, but i understood why she was the way she was.
When secrets and the past come knocking on the door, Reece and Adeline will have decisions to make. Ones that may change their lives forever.

The Boy Broken
M. C. Webb
5 stars

The Boy Broken by M. C. Webb is a great five-star story. Have you ever been attracted to someone you don’t like? Ever attracted to someone you felt was all wrong for you? That is the story of Reece and Adeline.
Reece is the tattooed bad boy and Adeline is the spoiled girl who doesn’t date bad boys. But as opposite as these two are, they have more in common then they think. Both of them have tragic past, that is told very well in flashbacks.
This author does an amazing job of making the reader feel for these characters. This story will keep you guessing with all the twist and turns but I highly recommend it.

The Boy, Broken by M.C. Webb is a contemporary romance that I enjoyed overall. It is written in alternating first person POV by the two main characters: Reece & Adeline. This is a story of opposites attract, after clashing/hating each other lol. It was push & pull throughout which I really enjoy (hate it when there isn’t angst). It did engage me from the beginning, but it was hard to follow at times. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars was the poor flow & errors at times. Otherwise, the story & characters were amazing!

Would have been ...

Four stars, but I don't think I've seen so many typos in my life. They made it difficult for me to understand sentences at times. The story was fine.

Amazing!!!!

The Boy, Broken by M.C. Webb is technically book 2 in this series but can be read as a standalone…..but I really really really recommend reading book one!!!!!! I love this book, I loved Reece, I loved reading more about Axel and Payton…. I did not love Princess Adeline. This book hooked me from the very beginning and kept me hooked until the very end. While this book dealt with some very deep and dark issues Reece brought the perfect sweetness to the story and Princess Adeline brought the perfect amount of frustration to make this a great read. This book does contain material that could be triggers for some so caution should be used. I give this book 5 stars!!!

The boy, Broken by M C Webb

Wow!.....Just Wow! Seriously! I wasn’t sure the author could top her last book BReaking the Girl but I think it has been done! After reading the last book I was very interested in Reece’s story. I was completely sucked into this book and quickly read it in almost one sitting. The characters are both complex as I expected they would be. But yet the author gets the human factor and plugs that into each of her characters also. While reading this I was filled with many feelings. I was surprised and shocked a few times.... which usually doesn’t happen to me too much. Then there was the joy of seeing Payton and Axle again. Along with the emotional rollercoaster that are Reese and Adelaide took me on. I really “felt” everything that Reese thought and went through in this story. I was saddened for Reese as well as for Adelaide for what they have survived. I guess the saying is true that everyone has a story.
Now on the up side: I love...love....loved the epilogue!!! Perfect ending! And I sat with a grin on my face while reading it.

I really did not care for Adelaide much through most of the story. I think because I really favored Reese and I felt like I kinda knew him from the previous book. She was everything he called her and more.....then I got to know a bit of her......my opinion started to change. She became so much more.

The writing in the story is phenomenal! As I said I really was unable to put this down. Neglecting family and such just to see what the outcome would be. I was not disappointed! I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for more than a beach read. Heck if you are reading reviews then just click on the buy tab and let your world be changed.
