“I always thought I was straight. But now I’m not so sure….”
Chandler Price is a superstar. He’s had it all: the boy band, the solo music career, the leading roles in movies. But his love life just crashed and burned. Now all everyone can talk about is his messy divorce, and he’s lonely and adrift for the first time. And what’s worse? To keep his career afloat, he has to work with producer Ash Vance, who has a reputation for being… difficult.
Chandler was ready to hate Ash. He knew they’d clash like fire and ice. But when they start spending time together in close quarters, he’s more intrigued by the hotshot young producer than he’d ever admit.
Ash wants nothing more than to produce a huge hit song. After giving up on love, the last thing he’s looking for is a new flame. He’s happy to put his career first instead. Of course, he has a crush on Chandler—who doesn’t? But he knows he has to push the feelings down.
Because Chandler Price is straight.…Right?
But Chandler secretly can’t stop thinking about Ash’s soft skin. His lips. And how he’d look in bed. When they confront their feelings and come together, it’s scorching hot. But with a boy band reunion coming up, Chandler and Ash would have to risk their careers to ever go public about their budding relationship.
Can these two bright stars be together amid a constant swarm of paparazzi? And will they accept their changing identities to feel a love like they’ve never known?
Your Superstar is a 70,000-word gay romance novel about what happens when you realize you aren’t as straight as you thought… and you’re one of the most famous people in the world. Emotional, steamy, and complete with a happily-ever-after ending, this is the fourth book in the Under the Stars series, featuring the former members of the boy band 5*Star. Each book can be read alone or as part of the series.
This is such a fun series. Book 1 remains my favorite, but I liked all the MCs and recommend reading at least the first book before reading Your Superstar.
I enjoyed the slow burn and UST, but I needed more togetherness before the separation.
Ash was so quick to push Chandler away in the name of professionalism; it seemed out of character for such a carefree, follow-your-dreams kind of guy.
Also, more steam, please! This series got less and less steamy with each book, which is a bummer. We get two brief scenes in this story, and that's all she wrote. I just wasn't feeling that spark between Ash and Chandler!
Extra half star for the great ending, which includes all three couples living their HEA.
This rounds off the 5*Star boy band in love series with a truly sweet romance with the most famous band member of all - Chandler.
Newly divorced, Chandler's incredibly naive when it comes to relationships and feelings as he's only ever been with his ex wife since he was a teenager.
I loved watching him be totally clueless about why his friendship with Ash was so important to him and reading him falling in love without realising was super cute.
Ash was also a lovely guy, no misunderstandings or miscommunication here, just a guy determined to do the best he could in his producer's role while fighting his attraction to the boss. It's low steam but lots of emotions and it felt organically grown, there's no insta love here.
My least favorite in the series. While I've been intrigued by Chandler in the previous books, he wasn't as great in his own book. Sadly. It was a little too slow for my taste.
Really enjoyed this one. Ash was way more insecure than I was expecting. I thought he would be a confident, hot shot producer - so the story was a bit different than I thought it would be but I liked it a lot.

Your Superstar is the concluding novel to the Under the Stars quartet. The lead member of the boyband 5*Star, Chandler made a name for himself as a singer and actor after the band disbanded years ago. Now he is looking to write a new album, and is being forced to work with an up and coming producer, Ash. While their business relationship starts out rocky, feelings soon begin to deepen as Chandler learns he may not be 100% straight. While Ash reciprocates those feelings, they cannot be open about the relationship or they risk both their careers.
As a final book, Your Superstar was cute. The story was similar to the others in the series, and I got all warm and fuzzy hearing about all the guys and how their lives had turned out for the better. The fact that I could feel levels of nostalgia for the other members was slightly surreal. Raleigh Ruebins definitely hit her stride with developing these characters in a way that I felt invested in their happiness. However, it wasn’t the AMAZING finale I was hoping for and I thought that Chandler and Ash’s relationship plateaued at the end. Chances are it partially ad to do with the minimal angst at the end after the climax in the plot.
The lack of angst once Ash messes up at the pivotal moment in their relationship was a real let down.
Overall, I really did enjoy the ending to this series. Your Superstar was my second favorite of the four after the first book; and that standing really it is down to the fact that there were very few romantic scenes between the two. Yes, there were plenty of angsty scenes, but I didn’t get many romantic tones that were built throughout the novel. That was my reason for knocking my rating a point. Otherwise, I loved it, especially the focus on Chandler being bi and struggling through his emotions and feelings about Ash, when all he had ever previously thought was that he was straight. Kudos to that portion.
Final notes: - Told in alternating first person POV - Bi character - Nighttime pool scene :) - Mentions of emotionally distant/ borderline abusive parents
This is another hit score by Raleigh Ruebins. I said it before and I say it again Raleigh Ruebins has a way of writing that calls to me. It is flowing and smooth and so engaging I am not just reading the story I am living it. She has a knack of bringing the characters to live. They are so natural and realistic, sweet and flawed. This is the case in this book as well. Chandler, the fourth member of former boy band 5*Star, who just got divorced from his wife, Sandra. Amidst all the gossip he is trying to get his solo career going again. He finds a new producer in Ash. From the first moment, these two men meet they hit it off. Not only professionally but personally as well. I loved how Chandler doesn’t really question his attraction to Ash. Ash is in seventh heaven as he has developed quite a crush on Chandler. It is the fear of possible damage to their careers that has them holding off and hesitating to take it further. It was written convincingly and I kept rooting for them to come together. They are just too cute not to have their happily ever after. I definitely felt the connection. It’s the little moments that made up their relationship. Not only the MC’s are well developed, also the supporting characters are great and enhance the story. This story has a fitting end that ties all books together perfectly. It is funny with serious moments, sexy with tenderness. It is the total package that makes this book, as all the other books by Raleigh Ruebins, a delight to read. This is the fourth book in the Under the Stars series. I can be read as a standalone but as there are recurring characters I recommend reading the other books in order.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved Your Superstar! This is book 4 in the Under The Stars series. You don't have to read the other books but I highly recommend that you do! Raleigh Ruebin's books make me so happy and this one was no exception. The characters were so engaging and loveable and the book was beautifully written. Ash and Chandler come from very different backgrounds but both of them love music. Chandler is a former member of the boy band 5*Star and Ash is an up and coming music producer. Even though Chandler thinks he is straight he is drawn to Ash from the minute that they meet. Their path to a HEA has a few bumps along the way but I love their journey. The background characters add a great dimension as well and it is great to catch up with the other three former band members as well. I can't wait to read the next book from this author!
I only read Book Three and Four from the series “Under the Stars”. I didn’t feel I needed to read the ones before them. But might help to meet the characters earlier on to get to a little more insight on the stories. I loved the world the author made for their characters. The world they built makes me wonder if they know a little about that type of world. Why? Because they make it so believable. I thought the story was well written and the characters very likable. It has you eye rolling right along with the character Chandler with a smirk or a smile. It has a steady pace and never a dull moment. Have you ever read a book and truly got lost in it? I mean like time slips by, and forget the real world was there, since you were pulled into the story. I hope to stalk the authors shelves for a long time. Another great book to add to my favorites.
Thank you for sharing your book with me. Got ARC for an honest review.
This is the final book in the series following 4 ex boy band members, and another fantastic read. I can't recommend this series enough. Chandler is trying to get his life back on track after his divorce from Sandra the only person he has been with for 20 years. Pushed by his management to work with Ash Vance an up and coming music producer to complete some of his solo work, he discovers feelings are growing towards the other man. Totally thrown and unsure how to handle this new development he pulls away. Ash having the opportunity to work with one of the biggest names in music can't believe how his career is progressing. Being gay and having a crush on the one person who is so out of bounds can only be a major problem, and something that can not be pursued. Can anything happen or will careers have to be given priority? An absolutely brilliant read that will take you on an emotional journey that will have you laughing and crying.
* an ARC copy of this book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review *
It is 4th book in Under the stars series but it can be read as a standalone. I love Raleigh Ruebins writing style and I really enjoyed reading this story. It is a sweet, gay-for you love story between former boysband member and 10-years younger music producer.
It is predictable and sometimes a little bit too cheesy but it is interesting, believable and funny. Both MCs are likable (especially Ash) and their actions are fully understandable. The pace is fast, but it is not insta-love story so we get to KNOW all characters, see them being friends and then turning this friendship into something more. There is some hot sex, but it is not the main part of the story (and i am grateful for that).
Another beautifully written book by Raleigh Ruebins. The plot was great, I couldn't put the book down, but most of all I loved the characters, although one minute I wanted to hug them and then the next I wanted to shake them.
This story tells you to follow your heart in work, friendship and love. Chandler is a successful rock star who originally started in the music business many year ago in a Boy Band. Now he is working on a new album and Ash is his new music producer. Immediately they feel a connection, Chandler wants to spend more time with Ash but he is confused about what he is feeling, he has never had feelings for another man.
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I was honestly a bit wary of how Chandler's book would turn out. He had been so happily married in all of the previous books, that I just didn't see how he could be with anyone else. But I needn't have worried, because the relationship between Ash and Chandler was just perfect.
I loved that Chandler was so determined to have as little to do with Ash as possible, and yet, when confronted with the lies that his label had told Ash about their working partnership, he was still kind enough to not burst Ash's bubble.
This book was filled with two characters having fun, falling in love, and being sweetly romantic.
Chandler is a talented singer who went through a rough public divorce where everyone kept asking him how he was doing when all he wanted was peace and to leave him alone. Ash is someone who is proud of what he does and crossing the line between professional and relationship is tough on him bit with some space and understanding Ash and Chandler learn to !make it work so too see them work together and come together has a couple is amazing Chandler coming into his own is a major step for him but I'm happy he found his true love The series was amazing and I couldn't put any of the books down I loved all four
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. When you read a lot of romance novels you get to expect a certain rhythm, for tension to happen at certain times. Ever so often an author comes along and throws all that in the water. They grab you, spin you around so you don't know where you're going. This is what happened with Chandler and Ash's story and I loved it. The character development was excellent and it was so easy to fall for both main characters. I really enjoyed this book really recommend it.
I actually liked Chandler in this one, which I was surprised about because I find a lot mc's in m/m's who are just learning about their sexuality to be repetitive and too withdrawn. I actually had more of an issue with how hesitant Ash was. And how utterly ignorant he was.. like how many times does a guy have to say "I like you, Ash" for him to be like "Oh! I guess he actually does like me"!! It was painful at times. *facepalm*
I'm glad I finished the series and it was an ok read, but I wouldn't reread this.
I received a copy for an honest review. This is part of Under the Stars series. You can read this as a standalone but the other books in the series gives great background for each character. Chandler and Ash's story. Chandler has just gone through a divorce and when he starts having feelings for his producer Ash his is a little worried. Ash is worried that them seeing each other will hurt their careers and pulls away. This is a sweet gay for you story with a HEA.
I liked this one better than the first three. Although I liked this one, it really was very much like the first book in its tone and plotting. At least Chandler and Ash seemed more well matched in this book than in the first book.
It felt like a huge chunk of Chandler's life was overlooked and diminished when there was no communication between Chandler and his ex-wife when he came out bisexual.
i skipped the book two and three because i have no interest with them at all. i had intended to stop reading this series long ago tho, but suddenly i just wanted to read something cheesy at the moment, so here we all. the sweetness and cheesyness in this book was enjoyable tho, not really out of line. def the kind of book i read just for fun.
I'm a fan of gay-for-you stories, and this one was awesome. I loved Chandler and Ash, and all their friends. I've enjoyed this whole series actually. I've become a huge fan of this author. Can't wait to read more. *I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.*
You can only ignore the heart for so long before all the emotions buried deep inside you surface. This is such a cute series of 4 friends finding their paths as adults.
