Quintus is an ancient Vampire who has been attacked, poisoned and left for dead. Gabriella is the hybrid who has been running from danger most of her life and saves Quintus’ life, hoping that in return he is able save hers.

This is action packed and undoubtedly erotic tale is a paranormal romance lovers dream come true! I read a lot of this Genre. (In fact, without making the connections immediately, I realised that I am, by coincidence, listening to book one in the Immortals of New Orleans series )

As one of my favourite genres, I have read a lot of Paranormal romance. I feel that this story has all of the components that make a paranormal romance great! This steps into the more erotic side of the genre.

Well written with a good structure and pace this is a great addition to the series. I liked the paranormal thriller and tension aspects and the romance aspects and feel that Kym Grosso does a great job of merging the two.

Thanks to Kym Grosso and Social Butterfly PR for granting me an ARC copy of Quintus. This is my honest review.

Quintus by Kym Grosso is book 9 in the Immortals of New Orleans. This is the story of Quintus Tullius and Gabriella Savoie. I have not yet had the pleasure to read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Gabriella has been on the run since she was a young girl trying to stay a step ahead of the danger that is after her. Gabriella ends up helping Quintus when he is left injured even though this may open up more danger to her. Quintus is very suspicious of Gabriella but his body and feelings are so drawn to her that he can't seem to help himself. Quintus goes forward to try and keep Gabriella safe and their feelings take over.
Very exciting read....loved it!

I am giving 3 stars to the book because Hunter was not just the alpha of the pack. He was also a participant in a threesome with Quintus and Gabriella, which ruined the whole, she is my mate thing I thought that was going on in this book. Did we really need a threesome not one, but two times? I don't think so, because it didn't offer anything to the story, the scenes were not hot and it came out of nowhere both times. I don't know how Gabriella got from healing him to sucking him and I don't want to go back and find out. That ruined the book for me and it's a shame because I actually liked it until that part(s). I might continue reading the series (this was the first book for me), but if it has again a threesome like this one, I will stop and probably never touch another book from this author because these threesomes are so not my thing. Triads are the best and I would have preferred the case where Hunter joined Quintus and Gabriella in the mating thingy that went on.

Fans of this series have been waiting a long time for this book and it is SOOO worth the wait!!!

This is my absolute favorite PNR series, so I was really glad to finally get to read Quintus' book. He is an ancient Vampire, one of the oldest and most reclusive. After a run-in with a particularly nasty vampire he barely makes it back to New Orleans alive. When Gabriella saves his life, neither one of them expect what comes next.

I really liked Gabby. She is scared out her mind at times, but still strong enough to stand up to one the oldest vampire alive, as well as an Alpha. Even though she's been on the run most of her life she is still compassionate and caring. And she is just what Quintus needs in his life. Someone to stir things up a little.

Get ready to visit some interesting places in this book, and meet some very interesting characters.

If you’ve only read one book in this series, you’ve read them all.
Change the names of the main characters & a few (very) small details & EVERY single book is the exact same storyline/plot.
It’s like the author copied & pasted most of the story from one book to the next.
Though the mates are suppose to belong to each other, yet every couple ends up having a threesome & it’s always for the well being of the female 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️
I kept reading thinking each book would get better & the author would mature in her writing.
That didn’t happen & I regret wasting my time on this series.

I am so enthralled, captivated and addicted to this series!! I think you get my meaning :)

This is Book 9 in this action packed, erotic supernatural series. I purchased it on Audible, and my favorite narrator couple narrated this one, Kai Kenicott and Wen Ross!
Quintus, I'm a sucker for Kym Grossos's alpha male's names!! Quintus is an ancient and very powerful vampire. He finds himself in a situation where a beautiful and mysterious lady is helping him. After promising her he will let go her, if she frees him, he decides to take her and find out more about her.
Gabriella, is filled with secrets, her mother died when she was young and she never knew her father. She is a strong and independent lady, but always on the run, from an evil coven of witches who want her.
Gabriella realizes she needs and accepts the gorgeous vampires help. He and his brother, Viktor, will be helping her, as Hunter, and Apha Werewolf. I loved Viktor, his character is so sweet and funny. Hunter is an unmated werewolf, and he is the one who detects something in Gabriella. In their quest to help her, they many places for what they will need to put an end to the threat hunting her.
Meanwhile as Quintus and Gabriella spend time together, they eventually become even more attracted to each other. And, their love scenes are smoking hott!!
This story line was such a non-stop listen/page turner, action, mystery, secrets revealed, with a wide variety of supernaturals. Sexy, powerful alphas and beautiful heroines!! A well written, flowing and sensual romance, with an amazing epilogue, I personally Love Epilogues.
Now, I just purchased Book 10, Hunter <3 Most of the series are free on Audible Escape and KU.

I really hope Kym Grosso is not done with this series, because there is still so many interesting characters to write about!

I have to confess, I am behind on The Immortals Of New Orleans series but I was able to read Quintus easily even with being behind. So if you are new to the series or behind like I am no worries you can read it as a standalone. I love a good paranormal romance and series and I had another great read with Quintus.

There is danger, there is suspense, there is hilarity, there is a whole lot of sexiness and there is so much more than I can describe. Gabby and Quintus’ relationship was far from smooth sailing at first but once they came together and bonded I felt like I could feel the bond myself while I was reading. Once I got into the book I was hooked, I didn’t want to put it down, I took my kindle with me to pick up my kids after school so I could read in the car while I was waiting. I loved that Gabby was different, that she was special, because it added to her character. Quintus my heart broke for him when something happens and I hope that things will be okay and no I can’t tell you what because it would be a spoiler. The secondary characters just added to all of the things I enjoyed while reading this one.

I am carving out some time to get caught up on this series, and if you are a paranormal romance fan like I am and are looking for a new series to try out, make sure you add the entire series to your TBR lists.

Once again, Kym Grosso takes her readers into the wonderful world of her Immortals of New Orleans series. After waiting for awhile, we get Quintus's story. He's an ancient vampire and when he is almost killed, his life is saved by Gabriella who has been on the run for her life for years now. As you continue to read, you are taken all over the world as Quintus and Gabriella work together to save her life. And even though he wants to stay away, Quintus can't help but be drawn to her, she is his mate. I loved Gabriella's character. She's a kick butt woman but yearns to find a mate. The danger, the intrigue, the mystery kept me in my room reading this once it hit my kindle! If you love shifters and vampires, you NEED to get this story. It can be read as a standalone but you will see characters from previous books in this series. Kym Grosso is one of those one click authors for me and her "Immortal" series is one of my favorite paranormal series. And now the wait begins for the next book in this series! LOL

I had the immense pleasure of Beta Reading this amazing book for Kym Grosso and I loved every second of it. This series just goes from strength to strength.
If you're looking for some epic paranormal romance then this is the series for you. This book was so freaking steamy, laugh out loud funny and the storyline was extremely well developed. It was full of twists, turns and revelations that had me hooked right from the start.

Gabriella is on the run from a particularly ruthless Coven of witches. The same witches that burned her mother at the stake and will stop at nothing to eliminate her for being impure. She's been alone for so long, fighting to survive and believes that the only way she will ever be safe is to find a Master Vampire and get them to destroy the coven, once and for all.
Selling her blood to stay alive, she stumbles across Quintus in a club. She saves his life and in turn asks for his help.
Here ensues an amazing adventure, full of magic, myth, death and destruction. There's love, lust, discovery, friendship, devotion and trust.

Some thoughts:
I loved that even though Quintus and Gabriella's relationship did move fast, we saw both of their feelings developing over that time and knew it wasn't just insta-love. It made it so much more honest and believable.
I love how fierce Quintus is. How he rules his people. I also loved his humanity and how he takes such pleasure in things like food and the simpler things in life. I love how loyal he is. How he accepts his own faults, even after all these years.
Gabriella had some moments that frustrated the hell out of me, like continuously running away when she was the one who asked for his help and he was trying his best to keep her safe. But her past, being alone for all these years, has made it impossible for her to trust anyone. So I got it.

Kym is THE QUEEN of epilogues and I cannot wait for the next instalment.

The whole cast of characters are SO likable, seriously. Every book feels like coming home and the world just keeps expanding. I love it!

This is a series I have been following since the beginning. The characters are some of the best I have come across because they seem to evolve organically rather than just being the product of someone's imagination. While New Orleans is the main location of the action, we go around the world locally, internationally, and in other realms of reality. The story is always well crafted and tight for the most part with the type of interplay between the characters that make for great banter as well as some very tense moments at times.

Quintus Tullius is a powerful vampire. When he returns to New Orleans after a demon attack he goes into hiding. He has concealed his true powers from everyone, only wielding his strength over the centuries as he sees fit. When an attractive stranger heals him he quickly realizes her altruistic actions are driven by more than kindness, and she is not who or what she appears to be.

Gabriella Savoie has been on the run since she was thirteen years old after witnessing the murder of her mother. She practices a unique blend of magick to hide from the coven that seeks her death. Because she is desperate she has been hiding out in underground clubs, selling her mystical blood to vampires. She is drawn to the one person who can save her and spirals into an erotic journey.

Both Gabriella and Quintus are stuck in their ways, which is interesting because of the fact that one is ancient and the other is quite young. While Gabriella wants help she does not know how to accept it and Quintus fights the fact that he has feelings because he convinced himself of the fact. Though Gabriella annoyed me a great deal of the time she still manages to be a favorite.

The narrators of the audiobook are really good. I am glad they decided to use a man and woman which really gives it a nice touch. Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott bring their subjects to fantastic life with voices that seem to perfectly fit them. Reading and listening are great ways to go because you never have to really stop.

This is an adult erotic paranormal romance. That means you will get love scenes and mature language.

Quintus was everything that I imagined him to be since reading a little about him in earlier books. He’s passionate, charming, dominant and very much an old school gentleman.
He’s never imagined his one true mate is out there after a cruel twist by his maker killing the woman many years before that he loved, he honestly thought he would always be alone. Almost half dead he stumbled into the arms of a woman that will change his life forever his one true mate.
Together they battle demons and witches to try and free her from a life on the run
I absolutely love this series and this book is amazing.

Bite Me!!!

Quintus Tullius, an ancient and powerful Vampire returned to New Orleans after a demon attacked him while he was helping the Alpha of Anzober Wolves.....Jake Louvière ( JAKE ). He had been concealing his true powers from others for a very long time.

When he was nursed back to health by a beautiful and gorgeous woman. He found out that there was more to her than beneath the eyes. He didn't know if he could trust her or not but his desired her like no other. He'd swore never to fall for her kind and here he was captivated by her.

Gabrielle "Gabby" Savoie, a Wolf-Witch hybrid who had been on the run since she was thirteen years old. She practiced an unique kind of magick that helped her hide from the coven who wanted her dead.

She found herself living in underground clubs where she was selling her mystical blood to vampires to survive. She was drawn to the sexy and mysterious Ancient Vampire named Quintus Tullius.

As Gaby and Quint ventured on a new and exciting journey, they made some discoveries that could help her set her beast free. Along the road they meant some obstacles that threatened to tear them apart. But the stubborn Vampire wouldn't let his little wolf push him away.

They made new allies and with the help of some friends, they were able to take care of those after Gabby. It was a delightful treat to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Also to see Quint fall in love after so long was beautiful.

QUINTUS is the 9th installment in Kym Grosso's IMMORTAL OF NEW ORLEANS series. It was mind-blowing, steamy, intriguing and fast-paced. This series keeps getting better and better with each book. Another amazing job by Kym Grosso.

P. S. Looking forward to Hunter's story! ;)

Holy crap!!! What a great story! Ok, I have loved this series since the very beginning but this is now my favorite in the series. There are twist and I was left on the edge of my seat for the ENTIRE book. I loved it. Quintus is an ancient vampire and it was great seeing him thrown for a loop when he meets his mate who is a hybrid witch/wolf. Gabby is a kick-tail woman who has been on the run for most of her life and never thought she would have a mate. Together, these two are explosive and I loved every minute of it! Just remember all decisions have a consequence and be careful who you trust. The epilogue left me speechless, oh holy *****!

i voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

If I could give this book a few extra stars I most certainly would! You would have to think that after this many books in a series then things would be starting to wind down a bit but this is so not the case for the latest in Kym Grosso's Immortals of New Orleans series. This has to be the best yet, I absolutely devoured Quintus, not coming up for air until I reached the end when I groaned aloud at the teaser left for the next book (which I really need now!). Congratulations Kym Grosso, you have another winner on your hands!

Vampires, wolves and witches oh my😉....yeah, you know I couldn’t resist that one. This was my first book by this author, that I won, but apparently I have a boxed set of the first four, which I will be reading...nowish. This was a great world she has created, I really don’t feel like I missed much from the other books, but I want to read them anyway, because I really liked this one.

Quintus is a an old af vampire, with a lot of power. He meets Gabriella when she saves him from a poisoning he couldn’t fight on his own. She saves him and he pretty much wants to keep her. He takes her home and wants to help her in return. She is a witch-shifter hybrid and she is on the run from her evil coven that is trying to kill her. These two have a little rough start, fighting their attraction and her being young and not listening aka submitting. She lets her jealousy get the best of her in a few instances when it’s not really warranted per say. Not that I don’t understand it, I did, I just think that our eyes don’t always see everything. These two start to figure it out and then boom, enter the long dead ex.

This was a great paranormal story, of them trying to find and get rid of the evil coven and the ex. Who to trust and what the correct answers are. Not everyone is who or what they seem. I’m sure you can imagine some of the things they went through. Losing loved ones a long the way. They were helped by some of what I assume are characters from other books in this world. Everyone trying to band together to help each other in their world.

This book was safeish, a couple of misinterpretations and a 3-way scene with her wolf alpha included, no need to get your panties in a bunch, it was all consensual with her mate...he actually initiated it to save her alpha. We got an epilogue that previews the next book....*sigh*, which I will be “patiently” waiting for. Who the hell am I kidding, I want to read that book nowish...*grabby habds*, cannot wait.

I don't really know what to say about this one. I feel like she has a great concept and even the overall storyline with the witches has been entertaining to follow along with... however, I feel like she's following some kind of formula that I'm kind of over after 9 books. Of course, not the romance... I mean, I know a lot of those books are formulaic, but I mean the main characters will get together in some kind of way and realize they are mates, and then they'll spend the middle parts of the book having sex and figuring out some puzzle, and there is always an extra single male who is part of the solving of the mystery, and then that male is needed somewhere near the end to either save the life of one of the members of the couple, or they will need to save his life, and a threesome will happen. But, everyone stresses that it's just one time and it's no big deal. Then, usually that man will be the main character in the next book. The whole thing feels weird to me. I actually love this series and everything else about the books, but then it feels like she's throwing in this gratuitous scene in each book and I'm not sure why. Anyway, I will be back for book 10 and probably book 20 or however many she wants to keep writing. :)

Manda's 4 Star Review

I have only somewhat recently stumbled upon this series by Kym Grosso. Once I started the series I read them all back to back. I couldn’t put them down and wanted to to know what happens next. I patiently awaited the release of Quintus. I knew from the previous book he was going to go on one wild ride. I enjoyed the storyline and pace of the story. I love the authors writing style and the details she puts into her writing. It keeps you engaged and interested in turning the pages. Quintus is a complex character. He comes off as a recluse and very set in his ways but as we get to know him we see so much more. I also loved Gabriella. She has had a hard life from a very early age but watching her come into her power in the story is awesome. I love that we get to know a new character in each book that will be the focus of the next book. It definitely keeps me wanting more and by the way this one ended I am super excited for what comes next.

••••••••••

REVIEW: 4.25 stars--QUINTUS is the ninth instalment in Kym Grosso’s contemporary, adult IMMORTALS OF NEW ORLEANS erotic, paranormal, romance series. This is ancient vampire Quintus Tulllius, and witch/ hybrid Gabriella Savoie’s story line. QUINTUS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: QUINTUS contains scenes of M/F/M sexual situations, and may not be suitable for all readers.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Quintus and Gabriella) QUINTUS follows the building relationship between ancient vampire Quintus Tullius, and witch/ hybrid Gabriella Savoie. Quintus Tullius found himself the victim of a demon attack. Imprisoned and weakened by poison, Quintus would be rescued by a stranger; a witch of unknown powers but a woman that calls to the vampire’s heart. Enter Gabriella Savoie, witch and hybrid supernatural on the run, and the woman with whom Quintus would fall in love. What ensues is the building romance between Quintus and Gabriella, and the potential fall-out as Gabriella is targeted for who and what she is.

Quintus Tullius is an ancient vampire; well respected in the world of the supernatural but someone is hoping to take down the powerful vampire. Believing he had lost the only woman that called to his heart, Quintus is surprised when his would-be rescuer stirs something within. Gabriella Savoie doesn’t have time for relationships especially a relationship involving a man who could destroy her life. On the run since the death of her mother, Gabriella knows revealing her true identity could very well get her killed.

The relationship between Gabriella and Quintus is one of immediate attraction but there is something about Gabby’s blood that calls to the world of the supernatural including a family heritage that threatens the people in charge. Quintus is desperate to protect the woman that calls to his heart but our heroine is determined to go on-alone. The sex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense with some M/F/M sexual situations.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and animated secondary and supporting character including Quintus’ brother Viktor; and alpha wolf shifter Hunter Livingston, as well as the return of a number of previous story line characters. The requisite evil has many faces targeting both Quintus and Gabriella –together.

QUINTUS is a story of family, betrayal, vengeance, power and love. The action-packed, premise is entertaining and enthralling; the characters are colorful, charismatic and energetic; the romance is spell-binding and passionate. QUINTUS is a spirited, animated and provocative story of fated mates and enchanting powers.

Quintus (Immortals of New Orleans) is Book 9 by Kym Grosso. I have read the previous 8 books in the series, but have not written a review of any of them.

Before I get to the my actual review, I must warn you --- Start with Book 1 - Kade's Dark Embrace and binge in order BUT only if you like:
a
1. Hot Alpha Vampires and Wolf shifters
2. Strong females - humans, witches, shifters
3. Evil wolves, vampires, shifters, demons, Fae
4. Drama
5. Adventure
6. Sex - and a lot of it (And you should have an open mind, after all this is PNR and therefore fantasy/fiction but if you don't like a third party joining in on the fun --- then this series isn't for you.)
7. Family
8. Pack
9. Secrets
10. Lies
11. Being lost in an author's world for a bit.

Okay, so you're still reading --- that's good.

As I was saying earlier, this is the 9th book in the series and I binge read all 9 because it's my thing lately. The author was recommended to me and I'm happy to say, I loved this entire series. I'm not going to review the first 8, but I hope if you choose to read this book and haven't read the first 8, you'll go back and start with Kade and Sydney's story.

Book 9 is Quintus' and Gabrielle's story. Quintus appears a time or two earlier in the series and as you read the series, you'll become familiar with how the characters and stories come together in the world that Kym Grosso has created.

Quintus is a centuries old Vampire who sired Kade's sire. The book starts off with Quintus literally at death's door and being saved by Gabriella who's in danger. Quintus vows to protect her, help her, but at first denies she is his mate.

Gabrielle has been running from an evil Coven since her mother was murdered when she was 13. She is a witch, but also a wolf shifter who belongs to no pack. She needs Quintus' help to destroy the evil Coven that wants her dead.

Along for the ride are Quintus' Vampire brother, Viktor, and Wolf pack Alpha - Hunter.

What stood out for me about this story was the humanity side of Quintus that he works so hard to keep, especially when death is brought to his doorstep by way of New York and the drama that brings into the trust he is trying to build with Gabrielle.

Gabrielle is no slouch though. Determined to keep everyone else safe, she tries to go it alone to "hide" while finding out how to get rid of the HWIC (Head Witch in Charge) of her Coven so that she can get rid of her fear of them always coming after her once and for all.

There were times I laughed, times I fumed, and a time or two when I cried and one time where I nearly threw my kindle because I thought a 2nd character was gonna die. Then I probably would have come on here and ranted in my review how upset I was over that death (but I still would have given the book a five star rating because Kym Grosso got me to react that way - HA!).

And when I got to the end of the book, I was left on a cliffy (Clever Kym... real clever... grumble hiss grumble kicks rocks) even though Quintus and Gabrielle's story was done.

Now I gotta wait for the next book and see how it pans out (gotta love being sucked into an author's world!)

Yes, I recommend this book to my fellow paranormal romance lovers.

When Quintus, one of the most powerful and ancient vampires in the supernatural world, finds himself dying after a demon attack, he fears the end is near until he’s healed by the blood of a beautiful stranger. Completely captivated for the first time in centuries, Quintus knows he can’t let her go. Even without knowing her true motives, he vows to protect her.

Gabriella has been on the run from her coven since she was a young teenager. After she witnessed them burn her mother at the stake, she’s known her only course of action is to stay one step ahead of the purist cover who want to destroy her simply because she is different. Doing whatever she needs to in order to stay alive, she heals Quintus with her magical blood in the hopes he will help her. She never expected to fall into the arms of the sinfully seductive vampire

It’s a race against time, as Quintus and Gabriella search for the one artifact that will set her free. Will Gabriella be able to accept all that she is in order to save herself and accept her true mate and will Quintus acknowledge the unexpected bond to Gabriella that should not be? As mayhem descends once again on the Big Easy, it will be up to Gabby and Quintus to not only save one another, but the city they hold dear as well.

Once again, Kym Grosso takes her readers on a magical and sensual journey that is a feast for the mind and the heart! Quintus has enough twists and turns to keep readers in complete suspense as the supernatural creatures that inhabit New Orleans come out to play.

Gabby is on tough cookie. She’s not only survived on her own and on the run since she was thirteen, she’s also concealing great power in more ways than simple magic. She’s the perfect mate for the ancient vampire, Quintus, who’s been alone for centuries after losing the one he thought was his. Her passion and fight brings him back to the land of the living.

As one of the most powerful vampires in existence, Quintus is used to playing by his own rules. I enjoyed that he found he needed to depend on others to help him keep Gabriella safe from the evil out to destroy her. I also adored his human qualities, such as his love for food that he’s never forgotten in the centuries since he has turned.

The wolf alpha Hunter Livingston is a major player and ally in this book, adding much to the storyline. We also get to catch up with a few other characters living in New Orleans from prior books in the series.

Quintus is smoking hot, full of suspense and a thrill ride of a read. Fans of paranormal romance will be captivated. 5 stars.

I'm not certain if I've mentioned this but Kym Grosso is one of my favorite paranormal authors. Every time I finish a book by her I think it can't get any better than she makes me eat my words and I fall in love all over again. Quintus is the ninth book in the immortal series. His story is long overdue! Quintus is an ancient, powerful (sexy), vampire that has been attacked and poisoned. While waiting for his death, a stranger saves his life with her blood. Now how does our gorgeous vamp repay his kindness? He kidnaps her, of course. Gaby isn't you're average human, she's a witch and a wolf. She has spent her life running from the horrible coven/cult she was from. They're purist and don't like that her blood is tainted by her being a werewolf. In hopes of finally breaking free, she seeks out Quintus but he was dying. She did the only thing she could do and saved him with her blood. Although Quintus kidnapped her, he's drawn to her. He wants to repay his debt to Gaby by saving her but there's something about her that he simply can't resist. I love the connection between these two. No matter how many times Gaby runs away to protect Quintus, he always comes to find. He's not letting his stubborn little wolf get away from him. I mean, he is ancient. He can hold his own. This book does end in an HEA.

Normally I'm not a fan of instalove because authors don't do it well. Kym does it in such a way that you just feel connected. She portrayed their feelings so well that you didn't feel you were missing out. I loved how Quintus also clung to his humanity. He always made time to have human food (not blood), he cared for the simple things. I loved how he loved fiercely, whether that's with his brother or Gaby. Whoever it was he truly cared for, he gave them all of him. I wish the author would create a book on Quintus and his sired children. One where he can fix his relationship with them. Ugh, the feels I'd get from that book.

Quintus is standalone but other characters from prior books make an appearance. Read them if you love steamy romances of the paranormal kind. You're missing if you don't. I gave this rating 4 1/2 stars because I would've loved just a bit more out of it, as I've gotten with some of her other books. This book is a must read if you love pararomance.

Rating: 4 1/2 stars
Ending: HEA
Epilogue: FREAKING AMAZING

Gabriella Savoie is a unique shifter. Not only is she a wolf, but, she’s also a witch and unbeknownst to her, she is very powerful. She’s been on the run for most of her life and she’s tired of running. She needs help and she knows just the vampire who can help her. She needs an ancient ...one who is fearless and powerful …she needs Quintus!
Quintus Tullius is deadly, powerful, and unrelenting with his enemies. After being attacked by demons he makes his way back to New Orleans, weak and in need of healing. He awakens to a beautiful sight and she is giving him her blood. Her essence is different and it’s healing him fast. He’s intrigued and he is demanding every secret that she holds. He is certainly drawn to her and everything about her is a mystery. As much as the right thing to do is to let her go, Quintus loves a challenge and what he finds out makes him realize that he needs to hold on to her …to keep her alive.
The Good: As always Kym has spun a tale of adventure, danger, lust, and fantasy. New Orleans is the perfect setting and I’m never left unfulfilled.
The Bad: For me, Gabriella not trusting Quintus was a little aggravating…not in a sense that this was bad, but more like “damn Girl, he’s an ancient! Who else can protect you”?
The Ugly: Gabriella’s past. It was ugly and to lose her parents so young only to have to run for your life is not right!
This was a journey of unknowns. Not knowing who you can trust, watching your back around every corner, and not knowing when you’ll have to run again. The unrequited mating of these two was pure magic. I believe that because of her power, Quintus was the only Alpha that could handle Gabriella and make her feel some sense of normal. What I loved about her is that she refused to be a victim and even while on the run, she never gave up in her quest to find a way to kill her enemies. I didn’t think I could love another book in this series because the last one was epic and yet again Kym proved me wrong. With the help of characters from the other books, she has written a brilliant tale of heart palpitating moments intertwined with love, devotion, and possession. A Solid 5 Stars!

So when I first started this series, what drew me to it (other than the first book was free) was that it is a paranormal romance book. It had vampires (and I didn't know it at the time but werewolves and witches and other magical creatures) and the blurb about it sounded interesting enough.
HOWEVER. This author seems to be using one model for the men, with minor adjustments. Some are vampires, some are werewolves, but they all have similar enough behaviors and mannerisms that they could be interchangeable. They also seem to have momentary breaks of character, where they say something that they have never said before (tru dat; and I'm not joking) that seems so out of character for these 100+ year old characters. The women have a bit more variety, but it is much the same. And I mentioned this previously that the characters are all interconnected in some way but you don't really see much of the others and so they have character development that happens behind the scenes and now they don't match the character you first met. And that bothers me a whole lot, especially since at the beginning of the series the author made multiple mentions to the interconnected-ness of certain characters.
Another thing that bothers me is that all of the characters have VERY similar sexual habits. I get that there is (in real life) a large percentage of people who enjoy certain sexual acts, but to have every single character enjoy the same ones? Seems like the author is the one that is a fan of it. So this feels unrealistic (don't say anything, it's a freaking paranormal book, I know) and makes is so annoying to read because it really seems like the same bit over and over and over and over and... you get the picture. I really don't want to read Hunter's story now because of this, but since I paid for the damned book I'm going to read it.

One of my all-time favorite series. I was so excited to see a new book. I not only have the ebooks, I have all the audios as well. Warning: This series falls under the "Some Like It Hot" category.

Quintus, ancient powerful vampire, wakes up in a New Orleans crypt. Not so bad for a vamp--unless you've been poisoned and subdued with silver. When a gorgeous woman helps him by giving him her supercharged blood he is renewed and wonders the cost. Of course, there is one. Gabriella has been running from the witch coven that murdered her mother since she was barely a teen. She is tired of running and fears they are about to catch up with her.

Quintus shimmers her to New York where he needs to bring the community of vamps back in control, promising to protect her. He knows there is something different about her. The job of protecting her brings them both into a web of secrets, nasty PNR creatures, new surprising allies, and an all-consuming desire.

As with each book in the series, it is primarily about one couple, drawing on characters from previous books. If you haven't read the other books you will still enjoy this one completely, however, I warn you that you will want to read more of this series.

Will Quintus be able to protect Gabby? At what cost? Will the realization of what their special connection is bring them together or separate them forever? You will share the joys and heartbreaks as well as the romance. I strongly recommend this book and series.

This is really my first book by Kym - I have just started reading her boxset containing books #1-4 of this series, so jumped at the chance to read this one!! I'm a big PNR fan and this was a brilliant read for me, read as a standalone I enjoyed the world this is set in and the characters were really good - I was invested in the story very quickly and its got just about everything in there that makes it so good - drama, angst, fast paced, danger, luscious vampires, hot shifters - and this book is very much on the erotic side with some of the scenes in here!!!

Quintus is an ancient vampire who has been attacked, captured and poisoned and left for dead. Gabriella is a hybrid witch/wolf and has been on the run from her 'purist' coven since she was 13 after they killed her parents. She knows her blood is special and decides to help Quintus and try and save him in the hope that in return he will help her with the problems with her coven.

There's a lot going on in this storyline, plots and characters that have been in previous books in this series, but I didn't feel I was missing out as I hadn't read them, but it has made me want to go back and go through the whole series, it really does seem to be a cracker of a PNR world, one I can't wait to get into!! This was an excellent taster for that, I really enjoyed this book and it comes highly recommended!!

This is the 9th book of the series and as far as I am concerned things he needed to be mated! And watching him fall was the best thing.

Okay so, he have fallen like a long time ago, but it was nothing compared to what he is feeling with Gabriella. The intensity is out of this world. There was too much and he needed that control, but man, oh man, the way they met was creepy as heck!

I love that Gabby has that air of innocence. It helped ground Q, or more or less it helped him try to curve his alphaness...which lasted like a while. It was also heart breaking that she had endured alot. Being on the run is not the best way to live, and yet I admire her doing the things that she have done.

Each page is full of humor and food! Yes, FOOD!!! Who would have thought that Q likes food. I mean, When Hunter was cooking, I find myself, wanting to eat too. From the table manners and how they conduct themselves, it was like they have know each other for a long time, and yet the three of them were just together for like 5 days or less.

The battle scene? It was like a wow and a eww factor, but I got to admit, I like that she had to drink that disgusting brew. I cried thought, when she felt that she is unable to bear Q's kids. It cuts me deep.

The last part? I will look forward to what will happen to Hunter, Viktor and the witch.

For several months now I patiently waited for this book, the newest one by Kym Grosso and she did not disappoint me with her magic. Weaving a story that takes us to New Orleans, New York and even Paris. Wow and more wow.
Quintus Tullius, makes his way back to New Orleans after helping and being injured helping Jake, He is the oldest Vampire, elusive, lethal and hides his powers.
As he tries to recover from the injuries inflicted on him he is healed be a stranger, but soon he finds out more about Gabriella Savoie then meets the eye.
Not sure if he can trust this beauty, nevertheless he swears to protect her and finds himself captivated by the one creature he never thought would flame his desires.
Gabriella Savoie has been on the run since she was a young girl. but above all she wants to survive, she hides from a coven that seeks her death.
Her journey now takes her from Louisiana to New York and even France, will she and Quintus survive all that awaits them, will the feelings that are awakened continue or will they deny them?
The characters are well writen and seeing some of the other characters from her other books made the story that much better.
Can't wait for the next book and the next adventure

Another great book to add to the series!

I love this series. It is never boring nor the same old so and so. The addition of new characters such as Kellan, and expanding of others such as Hunter just make you anticipate further new books. I loved Quintos, I knew I would when he was first introduced a few books ago. I love that Gabriella is not just the standard paranormal, but an interesting hybrid. I love the introduction of other types of paranormals. There are still so many unanswered questions which only makes me anticipate the next books to come. Although, I would not consider this book a cliff hanger. Even though Q and G are the stars of the book, I have freaking fell in love with Hunter! I laughed so hard at some of his witty comments! A wonderful job Kym...you have me hooked for good! One favor please? Don’t make us wait so long! Wonderful read for lovers of paranormal romance AND suspense! This should be a TV series! Without being a spoiler, the showdown between Good and Evil is so vividly written, I could see it in my minds eye as if I was in the room. I could feel the emotion, taste the air, it was superbly written!
