About the author

I started and have the privilege of leading THE CONNECTION CHURCH in Hays County, Texas. Before that, I served in churches around the state as Student Pastor and as Lead Pastor before moving to Kyle in the Spring of 2004. I love presenting timeless truths in compelling and fresh ways. I believe church can be fun and it’s a sin to bore people with the most exciting message on the planet. I also love to clearly talk about how to apply God’s truth to our everyday lives. My deepest desire is to help people connect with God and connect with others in a community of faith.

I earned a doctorate in missions and evangelism with an emphasis on church growth from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. When I have the opportunity, I enjoy developing church leaders to start healthy, thriving churches.

On the side, I love music, both listening and creating. Recently, I’ve been lifting weights and running to stay physically healthy.

I married my beautiful high school sweetheart Pam in 1991 and we have two daughters, Makenzie and Bethanie. We have planted our lives in the Hays County area so that God can use us to build a great church.
