When Rachel moved to Scotland she knew there would be changes. She hadn't expected them to be quite so dramatic. Not only was there a new house, new school and new friends, there was also a secret to discover.
Brios Parde was a Patriarch in waiting. When the powerful leopard shifter senses a new Shalean he is amazed to discover it's the new girl. All his senses tell him Rach will be important to him.
However the Rogues try to destroy the budding relationship. Will Rach decide to side with Brios or help stage an uprising?

I'm lucky, I have inspiration on my doorstep, and visitors galore. Not all are welcome--someone tell the cats, I really don't need field mice as guests!
This was a fun YA fantasy novel that introduces us to the Shalea, a group of Scottish shifters with other gifts. While this was a fun little read, there were a few things that irked me and pulled me out of the story. My primary pet peeve was that the reader was constantly reminded by the author that this is a YA book and thusly no adult interactions will be happening between out hero and heroine. There are these constant reminders that they are “too young”and these were clunky and heavy-handed and really detracted from an otherwise charming and well crafted story.
I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
