My first by this author, who I met at a blogger/author meet up.
A really great book, a bit James Bond to be honest and I loved it. Very well-paced it kept me hooked.
I've bought a couple more, so thoroughly recommended by me.

A Guy Walks Into A Bar. - I enjoy reading books by this talented author. I tried to finish this book in one sitting but, alas, 0300 hours knocked me out. Funny. Interesting. Intriguing. Well written with well thought out story lines and a group of characters that are characters. All the good guys were likeable and easy to root for and the baddies were easy to hate, and admire their professionalism. I enjoyed finding out about the different types of drones and sure could use one of the loaded for bear ones in my backyard. Entertaining and realistic. 5*

Callie's Eyes - My first read by this author. The second time, I had the pleasure to read this book in paperback, which is still the only way to read, in print. This story is an awesome read. Full of various elements that add depth and give the reader material to think about while reading intense story lines about well developed characters. Callie is a mature, giving 13-year-old instead of the typical whiny, self-centered youth so common today. She is blind and has visions of horrors to come. There are bad guys, the government, Christians and non-Christians among other elements that affect her family's problems in doing the right thing. I have read this book twice, a rarity these recent years, and found the first read just as immersing as the first. 5*

Exodus: The Old Farts Club, #1 - I had the pleasure of reading this in paperback, which I know enhanced this fun and exciting story. Try gripping a Kindle, twisting its pages and flipping back and forth as the story grabs you. Similar to the difference of seeing Die Hard in a theater for the first time compared to watching it at home alone. The characters range in personalities, skills and opinions, but they are one unit, one team, brothers; even the British dude. Realistic, no Rambos here, just men doing the right thing. The story lines are interesting and immersing making the book hard to put down. I read this in one day, it is that entertaining. The support characters are good and even their own bits added more depth. Of course, a bit of British cuisine made its appearance, which I found funny since the names of these dishes, and some ingredients, can repel the American palate. There are a couple of unexpected happenings that surprised me, usually I know what to expect; read as much as I do, and have, and there are rare surprises. 5*

Final Clearance - My second book by this author and I enjoyed it, too. Funny how things work out for some people. Told in first person, the story hits highs and lows as well as love and humor. A killer with a conscience and morals, go figure. Good characters, great story lines, clean dialog and humor made this one sitting read. 4*

This book is just brilliant! I thoroughly enjoyed every page.
I liked Paul Howard immediately. I found him very endearing and quite hilarious at times. He is a travelling salesman and the story begins where he is in a hotel bar. He soon finds his attention drawn to a beautiful lady in a red dress and he can’t quite believe his luck when she reciprocates his interest resulting in a night of passion which leaves him feeling pretty proud of himself.
When he wakes, she is gone but this he expected. He still feels like the cat that got the cream.
What he doesn’t expect is everything that happens from this moment on. Starting with a FBI agent in the hotel room! It seems his lady friend is not who she said she was, but who is she and why would the FBI be looking for her? What has he got himself involved in!? You’ll just have to read it for yourself to find out. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
This book is a thoroughly entertaining read. Full of action, adventure, and danger. It’s like a roller-coaster ride, exciting but terrifying at the same time. My heart was certainly beating faster on more than one occasion. I’m so glad I lead a quiet life! I think I’ll stick to reading about such adventures.
There are also many laugh out loud moments (promoting the Captain to General and a reference to the Decepticons spring to mind. Lol!). I loved the banter between the characters. They gel so well together.
There is also romance and who doesn’t love a bit of romance!?
I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying this book. I loved it!

Reading the blurb, I thought this book sounded like it could be fun. I also wasn’t sure, particularly with the title, if it would lean towards being a comedy thriller. Although there were some lighter moments, it didn’t, but I only mention that in case anyone else falls into the same trap as me. When you have an expectation, it can sometimes take a while to adjust. Not that it took long in this case, and that is largely down to the writing. The words flow and, with them, the scenes, as the guy who walked into a bar is dragged into something he wasn’t really expecting. The stakes are high – not quite end of the world as we know it, but heading in that direction – and the story is fast-paced. If you’re looking for deep and meaningful, you might want to avoid this. But, if you want to some light entertainment and fast action to distract you from the real woes of the world, you can do a lot worse than this.

Wonderful ride thru a story of how the guy gets the girl. No, wait, hear me out. This starts where , yes, he gets the girl, then like a good action film, things just start happening around him and he's like "WTF?!?!" We've got thieves, FBI guys, secret agencies plotting to take over the world, guns, knives, action, suspense. OMG, it just is one wild ride you really need to take. Mick hit another one out of the park. Grab a copy, sit with a spot of tea or a cuppa joe and hold on tight.

A Guy Walks Into a Bar

I love your books. My sister in law has me hooked reading them. The way you choose your characters and work with them to build the stories is exceptional, I hope you have continued success and have many more books to come.

A great book with an unusual plot. Interesting characters hold the interest as a terrifying future for the world looms ever closer. Great humour adds to the super readability.

This was a really fun apocalyptic action thriller, and the second book I've read by Mick Williams. I love that it all starts with such a simple encounter, a guy walking into a bar. Like the cover suggests, the guy meets a beautiful stranger in a red dress. They hit it off, and like many such encounters, end up in his hotel room. After an amazing night, Paul wakes up to find her gone, and the only evidence of her being there is a business card with a strange code written on the back.

What follows is a series of events that brings them together again, but not really in a good way. She's in serious trouble, and Paul ends up on the run with her. Turns out she has a lot more talents than what she can do in bed, and those talents have some very dangerous guys chasing her. Along the way, they team up with another woman, Monica, who's seriously connected to the whole thing, and a former henchman turned ally, who's tired of all the lies. Th

What I love most is that Paul is just an ordinary guy. He's not a weapons expert or a martial arts master or anything like that. He's just a divorced dad who travels out of town for his job with a pharmaceutical company. I'm glad that Mr. Williams went this route instead of giving Paul some secret superpowers that he whips out at the most convenient times. Now, that's not to say that Paul is some hapless idiot. He almost dies along the way but he's clever and determined to stay alive. He could have been you or me, so it made him really relatable.

Apart from some slow scenes that dragged down the pace, it was a fun, suspenseful and refreshing story to read. I think Mr. Williams hit his stride with this genre, and I look forward to reading more from him in the future.
