Charles Baxter has had enough of his meddlesome mother pushing another would-be wife before him. Frances is not what he wants in a bride or as a mother for his seven-year old daughter. Mary has been left at the alter by her ex Robert. To escape the shame and humiliation she becomes a mail order bride to Charles. He is a widower with a young daughter and his mother who is also widowed lives with them.

Mary’s journey is worth the read. It think the characters could have been done better to show more in depth feeling and romance but over all a great read.

A very entertaining historical romance western. It is a fun read with suspense, adventure, and lots of heart. The characters are well defined and have great personalities. Good read and obviously well researched as to the location (Montana) and late 1800's time period. Have fun reading!

This is a sweet, gentle read with well rounded characters, and a strong sense of time and place.

Set in Montana in the late 1800's it is the story of Mary who, having been jilted at the altar, signs up to become a mail order bride.

After a stressful journey Mary meets Charles, her intended husband. She also meets Lizzie, his seven year old daughter, and Helen, her future Mother-in-law........not the most welcoming of women!

All is not plain sailing, Mary falls in love with Charles, and vice versa, but can she cope with Helen living in the same house?

There are misunderstandings, secrets, and rattlesnakes....

This was an enjoyable read.

Received this book as an ARC for my honest review.

This book was sweet and not at all what I expected. It was a mail bride story with a very happy ending and everything was wrapped up nicely. Mary was jilted at the alter on her wedding day and her best friend convinced her to become a mail order bride. Mary signs up and almost immediately she is found a match by the matchmaker. He owns a ranch and has a daughter that is 7. There were a few spots where I thought the story was going to be a little more suspenseful but it didn't really develop that way. Very cute, very fast fluffy read.

Not too sweet but just right

There are many elements to an easy to read western bride romance. One is a believable back story. Another is a writing style that is smooth and not gushy. it needs a bit of tension, a dash of misunderstanding, a problem that can be resolved, voila!I
Here you have it well done.

Nice story but needs editing

Mary, TBD is a nice story but could be greatly improved with some judicious editing. The characters are good but need fleshing out and the rhythm of the story is awkward and redundant at times...Still it was a pleasant read.

Excellent book

I usually read Regency Romances, I got tired of them and switched to the Western romances from the late 1800's. Looking forward to the next one in the series. 😊
