This is not a full length novel. It is a short story that sets the stage for the popular Zeta Grey War Series, and introduces some of the main characters.

A young navy lieutenant proposes to the love of his life, only to have things go horribly wrong. A decades-long struggle ensues to find justice and the means to overcome hopelessly advanced alien technology.

The Zeta Grey War series is a look at the covert world of secret space programs, extraterrestrial intervention in our world, the arrival of help from other human races in the galaxy, and stunningly advanced technology already present today.

The methods and agenda of a predatory alien race and its colonization is also explored through the research of some of our planet's more advanced scholars and scientists.

For the military, technology has progressed far beyond what we have imagined. Through the characters in the series, we also discover that we are not alone through first contact with two other human races, whose visionary mission is to help us transform our world beyond the control of greedy corporations, their secret conspiracy to control the government, and our progress into a higher level of technology and civilization. It's an adventure you won't want to miss.

This science fiction thriller is not your ordinary alien invasion fantasy. The aliens are not monsters, but intelligent beings with an undisclosed agenda. This conflict is going to be long and hard. It is a time for true heroism and sacrifice to rise up against the overwhelming odds.

The Zeta Grey War: How it Began by D F Capps is a short story but a good and fresh look on aliens. Since it is so short, I can't tell much just that it is a great prequel and it makes me want to start the Zeta Grey War Series. I like to read prequels to decide on if I am going to start a series or not and this was a good prequel. If it can hook me in 40 pages, well it must me good.

The Zeta Grey War: How It Began - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Perception is not the same as reality, could be the tagline for this excellent and tantalising prequel novelette (40 pages), for D F Capps' The Zeta Grey War series of 5 books so far.
Guaranteed to make you believe all you doubted from X-Files, or Star Trek, (including rogue government/big business agents who are colluding with/being controlled by alien entities bent on subduing/experimenting on/interbreeding with etc ordinary humans like you and me).
This is sci-fi fantasy at its best and it could easily act as a message to warn against covert space missions and advancing the arms race,or human galactic explorers returning to Earth to teach us how to return to the 'right' path, before we destroy our planet or are overcome by enemy alien invaders, the like of which we have never seen before.
A thrilling introduction to an undoubtedly great new series by D.F Capps, The Zeta Gery War:How It Began, will make you bite your nails down to the wrists with excitement and acts as a fabulous introduction to the next 4 books in the series that you won't want to miss. Buy them all today and buckle up for lift-off!

A brilliant book depicting UFO's and the high probability that we could be caught in the cross-ire between two warring extraterrestrial forces. In order to protect ourselves we bed to find the correct side.

An excellent introduction

Introducing a few of the major role players as well as setting the ground work for the series, this book does a fairly adequate job however it feels rushed and incomplete, especially when compared to the other books in the series.
This publication is not at all necessary for the enjoyment of the series but is worth picking up for the sake of owning the complete collection.
