I had a big ol' write up of a review for this but I accidentally deleted it. I guess I'm just going to summerize how I felt real quick (I'm so annoyed)
This comic was really bad and really racist in spots, there was one hero that was somewhat interesting, but generally this wasn't very good.

Zephy Jones and His Rocket Ship
An almost alright story about Zephyr and his buddy Corky flying to a small planet between Mars and Earth. There they encounter both the Birdmen and the Parrotmen, both races looking like winged men. After teaching the Birdmen "the secret of the machine gun" they leave and that planet totally doesn't have horrific dictators now.

The Phantom Bullet
This story was pretty interesting and the mystery was really stringing me along, I was ready for a cool weird twist. Instead the investigator of the story discovers that the murders in this town were being caused by an African Explorer who has a gang of "shaggy African half man-half ape" with "feather headresses and seven fingers". Big yikes from me on this one boys.

Trojak: The Tiger Man
Marvels second Tarzan type. 8 don't know why they didn't make this a Kazar story, but whatever. Trojak, not Kazar or Tarzan, is a white man raised by an African tribe, I thought it might be cool and respectful, but the writers still make the tribes men tell Trojak that "through your superior intelligence you have become a white God here". Weird thing to say, I think. The story is really about a bunch of other whites that started taking advantage of some local villagers, Trojak stops them, and protects his tribe. That's the story!

K-4 and his Flying Devils
A general war story I didn't really care much about. What I did like though, was the hero. He's just this schlub actor who goes undercover into Germany and whacks people with his gun butt to solve problems.

Mr. E
Shockingly the most interesting and modern feeling of the bunch, Mr. E is really the only story I DO want to come back to. While Mr. E didn't do much for me personally I loved his villain, The Vampire and his costume and everything. I think he's great, he'd fit right in with the more cheesy Marvel villains, but I'm into that.

The Laughing Mask
Another masked hero story, this one was kinda meh. He run fast and has a glowing mask. I think I had more to say originally but I don't care anymore.

If you're still reading this my next review shall be more betterer as I won't delete it right before I post!

Birdmen. Why are there so many bird people in these early Marvel comics. Another question, why are parrot men not also bird men? Are parrots not birds? Otherwise, fun comic of very silly sci-fi. This is also why the prime directive exists in Star Trek - giving them fucking machine guns.

Phantom Bullet was okay. I like that the hero is a lazy bum, it gives him some character that literally all these other heroes lack. However, his gimmick is that he can now become a killer and get away with it after he nicks this gun that shoots ice bullets. Yikes. The gun gimmick was also used in an issue of Marvel Mystery Comics with the boy detective. Guess someone really likes the idea of ice bullets.

Trojak is like a knock off of a knock off and offers nothing. Like the Phantom Bullet; enter racism. At least here, the black people aren’t all evil, I guess. But why he exists when there’s aka-Zar, I dunno. The story isn’t even as good as an issue of Ka-Zar.

K-4 is a tricky one for me. I would argue it is the best story in the whole issue, along with the best artwork. However, I don’t really like war stories, so I kept getting bored without the big superhero action. It’s well written with a cast of characters, our hero goes undercover as a Nazi and punches his way across the land. With the right audience, this would probably appeal.

Mr E. I didn’t like it. I don’t know why, it just felt like another of the same we’ve read across these Golden Age comics. Lastly is Laughing Mask, who I actually love. The story is more of the same, but the mask is a cool gimmick and his powers are clearly defined (unlike, say, the Angel). If not for the mask itself, there wouldn’t be much here.
