Something is rotten in the state of California…

The dawning civil war has ended in a truce. Scavengers and traders all over the country are settling down for the long, hard winter to come. With their new camp outside the maze of New Angeles at the coast growing every day, Bree, Nate, and the gang have their hands full—yet something is not quite right. Maybe one last run before the winter is all that’s needed to cure that itch. What could possibly go wrong?

PLOT TWIST...

Bree Lewis is not invincible. I say that again, NOT INVINCIBLE. Lecter has spent several novels now beefing up the bad a**ery of Dr. Bree Lewis. From fat, chubby, non descript virologist lab rat to full on mercenary ripped power house, if you've been reading thus far you know the character arc that Lecter implemented. Until now.

Despite her knowledge and background, Bree's ego keeps her from acknowledging the hardships of her life post zombie bite. Refusing to accept that things are wrong, her partner Nate decides one more trip across the US is needed to get assistance. Under the guise of a scavenger caravan, Bree and Nate set off on one last trek that is filled with endless adversities. Book 7 quite reminded me of Book 2. On the road, navigating the aftermath, Bree struggling to be strong... Lecter made for an interesting and really unexpected turn of events with this series.

A good book, cliffhangers, Nate is a nobody now

Book 7 in the series.... I love the series!!! As the books progress you seem to lose touch with Nate and Bree, the equally strong and independent leads are meer shadows. Bree is always in need of her knight in shining armour, and Nates role is a little more than a background figure. What i always loved about the characters was the family feel, that Nate and Bree were equals and relied on each other. Now it's all about Bree and her struggles, here inner monologue, her leadership, her better than everyone and her lack of feelings and love for Nate. He has been reduced to a background character :(

Thank you one again Mrs. Lecter

Never one to disappoint, Adrienne Lecter is a GOD writing zombie apocalypse stories. Affliction definitely has a twist and turn that simply I didn't see coming. I have never been so in love with someone's style of writing in my life. I can't wait to see want Europe has in store. I must say I did miss andrej and the ice queen but I'm glad we didn't loose Bree which is where I thought we were heading. Anyway thank you for another amazing book. Still waiting on news about my TV series!!

I feel like every time I review one of the books from this series I am just repeating myself because all I can say is how good the books are. This series has taken me and made me a total addict. I cannot wait for the next book to come out! This one was surprisingly gory specially for Bree. I wasn’t expecting it but that is what makes them great - expect the unexpected!
The author has a way of communicating what Bree is feeling that puts you on high alert. I swear it’s like watching a movie. Seriously great!

Affliction

I’m so glad that I decided to continue with this series. It’s definitely still as good as it started out to be and I’m ready for the next one!! I didn’t like Bucky before and I certainly don’t like him now after his mind control experiment!! I was feeling the pain right along with Bree during her surgery and I feel for her. Now she’s walking again...minus some fingers and toes....and ready for the next challenge. What trouble will they find in Europe?? Guess I’m gonna have to read on to find out.

Once again Lecter provides readers with a wonderfully engrossing page turner. Following the exploits and failures of Bree Lewis gives those reading plenty of ups and downs and the occasional, "What?" Lecter seems to have picked up a seriously interesting habit of including Bree's expository thought processes and that may seem a bit off-putting to some readers. If you can push past those passages, you are gifted with great snark and sarcasm.

Hold your breath You will love this series

You walk with Bree and Nate, you feel her hurt, love, concern. You know what its like to be her. To try to be tough, cry and mourn for lost friends. You want to be her or be Nate.
You stumble along side them as they fight for their very existence, and root for them when they win.
This series has not been a disappointment its been awesome to live along side them as you feel so involved in every page of the books.

One of the best zombie series I've read!!

I enjoy this series very much, and I'm super happy Adrienne plans to keep writing more. The heroine is snarky and sarcastic ( just like me!), all the action scenes are well written, and the science makes everything feel very real. This is one of the better zombie series out there and I think more people need to know about it.

Affliction

I wish there was more than 5 stars. And also wish there were real Nates and Brees in this world. Your story writing is beyond entertaining. I have been up until 2am for 3 nights because I could not stop reading until my eyes felt like Bree's . You are an awesome talented writer and I cannot wait until the next book is written and released.

Book 7

I did not believe this series could get any better but it does. The ongoing saga of Bree and Nate. Bree is slowly dying and has to turn to the last people she wants to for help. Of course Nate will do what ever it takes to save her. This last book is even more thought provoking than the last. Must read!!

Awesome Zombie Apocalypse Series!

I can't tell you how happy I am that Adrienne Lecter decided not to stop the series after book 6. Seeing book 7 come out was almost as great as finding out that the Green Fields series will now contain 10 books. Now I just have to sit here and wait anxiously for the next installment! I hope it comes out soon.

Nearly perfect

Would have given 5 but I got lost in some of Bree's ramblings. Bree's long explanatory narratives did tie up a few loose ends but I was surprised at the ending. I didn't see that coming..

Civil war ended? Animosity still festering in the world between towns people, military and scavengers. But that's not the only thing festering.

This is one of the most brutal and amazing Zombie series I've ever read.

Bree is one badass nerdy chick. Green Fields never disappoints.

Extremely Addictive

I almost bailed on this series after the first book, because I was really pissed about how Bree , ( the main character) was treated. Now I find myself hoping this will be like the Jack Reacher series.....never ending. Please keep them coming, Ms Lecter!

Glad it didn't end with 6

It is utterly amazing and completely baffling that this story continues to be fresh and engaging. Very few authors can continue a series this long without repeating themselves. Kate L. Mary is one and Adrienne Lecter is the other.

Lewis is such a klutz, but that's why I love her. The things she goes through to save what's left of mankind are probably more than mankind is worth. Love the characters, plot and enjoy the storyline. Waiting to start the trip to Europe with her.

Book #7

Bree is in bad shape! A lot of pain and several fingers and toes amputated. This done while she was all too aware of the surgery. Well, payback is a bitch! LOL. On to book 8.
