This cute, well-designed Australian Children's Book for young kids featuring hand drawn artwork of cute, Theodore the bear teaches young readers all about Australia, Australian slang and what life is like down under.
Theodore travels to the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney Opera House, Bondi Beach and all over Australia on his journey coming across all types of different Australian animals.
Your child will love learning about Australia as they join in the adventure of cute Theodore the Bear.
Theodore Down Under is written with attractive, easy-to-read text, reading like an excited postcard from Australia. Theodore the bear enjoys his first trip on an airplane, goes snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, visits Ayers Rock, plays the didgeridoo, and learns various tidbits of information about famous buildings, Australian slang, football, sheep and more. The facts are intriguing enough to keep an older child interested while a not-yet-reading sibling enjoys spotting creatures in the pictures. Theodore Down Under is the sort of book that teaches and entertains, all in the fun style of a happy teddy bear.
Disclosure: I’ve read earlier Theodore books and enjoyed them, so I knew I’d like this one.
I have had the privilege of reading and reviewing for this author before and I couldn't pass up a chance to read more about Theodore and his adventures.
This story is so much fun to read and the illustrations are absolutely fantastic!! I loved how not only we got to go on this epic adventure with Theodore but we also got the chance to learn with him too.
The illustrations are so eye popping cute and they were so much fun to look at. I highly recommend this fun read for children and parents alike.
Traveling to Australia is on the top of my list so I like having a kids book about traveling there. My 3yr old fell in love with Theodore in a previous book so I have come to really enjoy the artistic style they use in the illustrations. It is difficult to hold my daughter's attention with the actual text though. In ebook form, it's a white page with text, then it is the matching illustration. She keeps swiping the screen to the picture before I even get halfway through the first sentence. I wish I had it in print so she could see the illustration while I read the words - or be able to put my device into landscape mode and have both pages come up (but I haven't seen an ebook pull that off well). The more I read Theodore books, the more my daughter enjoys it. It will be fun to see what stands out most in this book after several more readings. Will it be the different animals mentioned, the activities Theodore is doing, the phrases that the text teaches, or will she surprise me with something I didn't even notice until she points it out? Because she loves Theodore so much, I love these books. I can't stop recommending it to everyone with young kids.
G'day Mate! You are in for a delight as Trent and Ashlee Harding take you on a trip down under. This book is well written, informative and complete with some fantastic illustrations. What a great way for kids to read about Australia or to have this book read aloud to them so all can join in the fun adventure. The authors know what kids will enjoy and have put together yet another winning read.
