Solid revenge story. That's a compliment. I like solid revenge stories.

The hero wants revenge against the heroine's father since he stole his father's invention and made millions while they lived in relative poverty. He first hears of the heroine's (illegitimate) existence after she dings his Maserati (driven by his friend) coming out of her father's driveway. She had been on a mission to obtain funds for her handicapped brother's care home fees.

The hero decides she might be a fount of information about her father and he's strangely attracted to her "plump" figure and beautiful face. So he blackmails her into catering a house party at his estate as way to pay down the car repair debt.

The inexperienced (but not a virgin) heroine stays out of his bed for a whole chapter after he makes a pass at her. (That counts as a partial spine for 2017 heroines- baby steps.)

Once the hero explains his revenge plans, the heroine is afraid hero will drag her secret brother into the limelight, so she doesn't tell him why she needs her father to not be bankrupt. The hero thinks she was trying to sweeten him up for her father. The heroine is tight-lipped. It's all over except for the crying - and the pregnancy.

The hero does eventually realize the error of his ways and he is sorry. I would call it a grovel-lite. There is no slut shaming, thank goodness. But the golddigger label is thrown around a lot. Like all revenge stories, the hero has to leap to conclusions in order to keep the fires of revenge burning.

Also, the heroine was an idiot for sleeping with him since he treated her so badly about the car. I prefer my sleeping with the enemy stories where the hero is charming and the heroine has no idea she's being played - it increases the angst and keeps the heroine innocent of wrong doing. Here the heroine knew the hero looked down on her, but she succumbed. On the other hand, it was a whole chapter of resistance . . . Baby steps.

Fuelled by Revenge,Matias was determined to gather all the dirt from his enemy's daughter,Sophia. She had a bad experience by revealing a secret she carried and hence her mistrust for men. Matias and Sophie carried secrets in the beginning; however lust anf chemistry won. As the seed of love germinated it was too late, the misunderstanding occurred and the relationship was over .Matias revealed his intentions and revelations which made her build an emotional barrier and fierce protectiveness so strong nothing could penetrate it except through courtship, patience and love. I'm no great lover of the 'hot scenes' but the emotions were enough to truly adore. The heroine was not a virgin but she was as innocent and pure. Her love was pure and she was all strength and courageous. Cathy Williams, this was an enjoyable read. My reviews on an author is quite scarce and brief. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It reminded me of themes in the late 80's and early 90s

Revenge has consequences and Matias Rivero is about to realize that.

Broke Sophie Watts was in a tight situation after crashing into Matias Rivero's expensive sports car. Not only that but she was driving without insurance. Now she must pay the debts by being his chef a weekend party in his mansion.

Sophie is exactly what Matias needs to extract his revenge. She is the daughter of the man who ruined his family. Now that he has her in his sight he'd be a fool not to cash in. Seduction is his plan only he can't control the passion the runs between the two of them.

Well I rather enjoyed this. I thought the couple were perfect together and although the angst/motivation was lacking in credibility, I really enjoyed it.

I liked the book up until after the weekend at his house. His distrust felt unreal, as did her unwillingness to tell him about the brother. The break up seemed manipulated to serve the author’s plot line.

Once the pregnancy occurred, I enjoyed how their relationship developed.and they came together. Great characterisation and fabulous love scenes!

Matias Rivero has built up his empire through ruthless determination and an eye for revenge. He will destroy the man he holds responsible for the death of his father. A man that had ruthlessly taken advantage of his parents and left his family in tatters. Finding out the man had a daughter, he is determined to glean from her everything he can to help him destroy her father.

Sophie Watts only wants to build her catering business and make sure her brother gets the care he needs. Running in to a car trying to escape her father's house is not helping things move on. Finding herself working off her debt to Matias Rivero is unbearable. But the attraction between them is difficult to ignore. And she is more than willing to let lose for a brief sense of freedom.

Overall ok. Really wished if the big issue was her brother, more details about him were revealed. No idea of age, what disability, why he's fragile. But everything on Sophie's part is to keep him safe and protected, but no real idea from what.

I usually like Cathy Williams’ HP’s, but this one not so much. Cathy Williams is one of the writers from whom I like the old books better than the new books. This HP wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either.

I like a besotted H and I don’t feel he is that. He is in lust, but not in love. They hardly know each other, they have a few days of sex, they argue, they split up. Then after 5-6 weeks she tells him she is pregnant. He would have thrown her out if she wasn’t pregnant with his baby. That’s why I doubt he’s really smitten.

In almost every HP nowadays the h gets pregnant while not being in a relationship with the H. I don’t like it. A romance should be about a man and a woman.

I always like a good revenge story, and this one I just loved. Loved the explosive chemistry between Matias and Sophie.

There was just one small issue. I read the Kindle edition, and there seemed to be some italicized text deliberately put there even when it wasn't making any sense to stress upon those words.

Eh, this one didn't do anything for me. The hero is hell bend on taking someone, who we do not even meet, down. He does....and he is still a dick about it. And in the end he is SHOCKED the heroine didn't confide in him. Yeah no crap! Youre a jerk face! I'd say skip.

crashing into Matias Rivero’s expensive sports car was an accident, but Sophie Watts never imagined it would lead to having him propositioning her. Working as a chef for a weekend party at his house is his way of making her pay off her debt. However, Matias has an ulterior motive for wanting to be around her, and once she learns what that motive is, will she give him a chance to make things right between them or will she walk away from her chance at happy ever after?
