Review:
Well, first of all, I would like to congratulate Shilpi Ma’am for such a wonderful book penned down. The book cover is eye-catching and matches with the theme of the script. From the cover itself, you all know that it's a story of distance relationship. The language of the book is uncomplicated and beautiful. Though there are so many love stories we are reading today, but at the end, all are different in their story narration and ending part.
Coming to the mainfloory, this is the story of Nilanjana a girl from Kolkata. She is the sole daughter of Debasish And Sudipa. From the Childhood itself, she has a dream of functioning in a big MNC and study in abroad. She loves her native place and enjoyed a great deal different kind of festival perform in their place. As time passes, she completed her school life and instantly got an offer to join JNU, Delhi. The initial stage of college life its a challenge to her how to mixed up with people and remain away from parents. But as we all know if you desire something, then hold to lose something, in Nilanjana Case same thing occurs and that is quite normal. That she has to stay aside from her parents and continue her college life reside in college provide hostel. As she has never belonged to any hostel earlier, all scene is looking new to her. She feels alone in that whole region, but it was her roommate Priyanka who helps her to get the best from this void.
The timetable is really hectic for her, college to the hostel and vice versa is her general routine. In meanwhile Priyanka takes her to their college canteen. On that point she meets with Vikram, a senior from her college pursuing Ph.D. Initially, she is not interested to talk with Vikram but his politeness, helping nature and other good qualities bring both closers. Thither was a special bonding arose them, you may call it love or affection but still, today both are unaware of that. One thing is sure that they always have the urge to meet each other and spent some time with. In all these periods of time love is blossoming in two hearts, in the fright of losing each other they never confess their passion. In between college life is coming to the endpoint and now she has to left for higher studies. It was her award ceremony day when Vikram has no alternatives than to confess his love towards her. Both meets after the function and confess their love. Now the matter is how to keep their love life. Nilanjana was depressed and could not decide what to serve. But even so, at that place is a question how she makes up her aspirations for love. In this confusion phase, Vikram suggests her to carry on her studies and she serves the same as her parents also insist her to follow her aspirations. Thanks to new engineering science that two love birds connect with each other via social media, Skype and all. Her study going on smoothly at Pennsylvania University. She missed her love, parents and all the happy moment spent with Vikram.
After a spell, some other person comes into her life, Arunabh who is following a Ph.D. In the same university. He is the one who cares for her and helps her all the time, whenever she calls for. Aside from all this Arunabh is also a Bengali and she was a pleasure to find a person from their shoes. He delivers the same character and decent nature of that their bonding became stronger, but Nilanjana loves Vikram only. And at that place is no place for other in her affection. Again history repeats, but in an another face, this time Anurabh propose her and she was instantly bound to disclose that she loves Vikram and there is no space for some other. Later a long waiting, the second arrives when she finally gets the chance to see him. Only at that place is a horrible moment, waiting for her, now she has to take in between love and vocation. Long distance relationship is a usual matter in today's life, but at that place is some contradiction comes in all life. Did she choose her career or love? What happens to Anurabh?
True love never goes bad, if it is truthful, then who will win In this game of lovemaking. To know more about it go through the book.
My finding of facts:
The story is good, but the first few pages are a little bit slow which may not accommodate the reader's attention, but after that, all are going in a fluent manner. Story narration and plotting is good, but even so, at that place is some charm missing that disappointed me. The thing is that there is nothing new in this story except the climax part. It’s a one time read book.

Book Title:
The title of the book is ‘That's How It's Meant To Be’ is heartwarming and nice.

Book Cover:
The book cover is a digital image of a couple with a huge bridge in the backdrop.

Plot:
Love is unadorned and undemanding. But the circumstances and the situations change the feel of it and make it complicated which seems almost impossible to untangle.

The main characters of the story are Nilanjana, the Bengali girl and Vikram the Punjabi guy. The couple falls in love with each other in spite of being in out of the ordinary circumstances. They experience all sorts of emotions and feelings during their love journey.

How did they meet with each other? What are the weird situations they face? Will they end up getting together? Well, read this love story written by Shili Chaklanobis.

What I like:
1. The interlacing of each and every scene is done well and the narration was good.

The cover is beautiful, with Howrah Bridge in the background giving the reader a feel that there is some Kolkata in it. The author has beautifully described Nilanjana’s childhood and her feelings. I could feel I was walking in Kolkata with little Nilanjana and enjoying the puchkas. I even saw Delhi with Nilanjana.

The characters have been developed well. The author has given each character a strong personality, though I felt, we could have been given more details about Arunabh. Each character has his/ her own space and also an independent mind.

The language, story and narration are simple. The author has also taken up a social problem through her story.

Can LOVE alone sustain a relationship? Is it always possible for mutual feelings? What does take it take to be with someone through thick and thin, maybe for a happily ever after or a forever?

That's How it's Meant to discover love and life. It is just not another romantic tale, it is not about just falling in love, it is about being in love and carrying that feeling and living. Through Nilanjana and Vikram, the author lets you experience LOVE and more importantly - LIFE.

The story gradually grows on you with each passing page. It is something that everyone can relate, a feeling of what we experience or see around; strong enough to touch your heart. There is ... a beauty and elegance in the story and the writing style that gives a reader, warm feelings.

It was a bit slow paced for my taste but gave a pleasant feeling to the reader in me. I will rate this 4.25/5 🙂 and recommends it to all my all readers.

“That’s how it’s meant to be” is a book by Shilpi Chaklanobis. At first I want to thank Shilpi Ma’am & Sandeep Sir for giving me the chance to go through the book by providing me a copy for review. It is a good book to read & personally I found a major connection with the mentality of one of the characters in the book.
The cover is design is something I really admire about this book. The front cover depicts the picture of a couple from their back sides and it’s really romantic to see them as well as the entire cover. I want to say that the cover has justified the story aptly, and anyone will easily sense that why I am saying this if the person will read the book and realize the depth fully. This is the 9th book I’ve in my collection that is published by Author Paradise Publishers.
The title “That’s how it’s meant to be” is indeed tempting. I would like to say that it was the title that triggered in my mind about what can be the story inside and just by seeing and cover and the title together, I decided to opt for this book. It is quite appropriate as per the substance of the book.
Language is simple though, but I’d like to say that this book is enriched with quite classic words indeed in some places. I am not saying that it contains some words that is hard to understand or reader will have to grab a dictionary to find meanings of the words in the book..no, I am definitely not saying that, but..who actually loves to aggrandize their collection of new words with every book, can surely find some read worthy words here. But, apart from this, I want to point out one thing about the narration. The narrating style of the story seems very plain and simple to me, and personally I felt that, the story lost its grip in the middle at one point because of this. I mean, the writing style needs to be improved a little at some place, because, reader’s won’t be able hook themselves up with the story without finding proper twists or turns at least in some places. Till a certain point, the story was going in a one way simple flow, and that is what can make the readers a bit tiring to read about the same thing or phase pages after pages.
The theme of the book is love and friendship. It’s about realizing the worth of oneself and the depth of love.
The characterization is good. The protagonist (Nilanjana) and the other major & minor characters are well portrayed in the story. Let’s have a look on some names that is mentioned in the book as characters- Nilanjana, Vikram, Sudipa (Nilanjana’s Mother), Debashish (Nilanjana’s Father), Priyanka, Anusha, Aditya, Arunabh, Ghosh Aunty, Riddhi, Amrita, Sheela, Gudiya.
Here goes the story- Nilanjana was a Bengali girl from Kolkata. Being the single child of her parents, she had grown up with utmost pampering, love, and care. They nurtured her like a flower and it’s like…she used to get everything in front of her in a silver platter. She always had high ambitions & big dreams to follow (flying to US for higher studies is also one of them) in her life. Though her parents were over protective about her (it’s quite natural), still they gathered courage and sent her to Delhi to pursue her B. Tech from JNU. She coped up with the new circumstances there and was managing well about her study and education, but somewhere she had not that much of friends there actually, except Priyanka. Life was going well actually, and then she crossed paths with Vikram aka ‘Vicky’. Vikram was a rich brat from a Panjabi family. But he was not like the other spoilt rich boys who usually spend their money like water and do misuse of their wealth to show off. Nope, Vikram was not that kind of boy at all. He was a boy with mature perspective, simple, humble and caring by nature and sensitive as well. He was doing his PhD. from the same university. Though Nilanjana had some misconception about Vikram from their very first interaction, but circumstances brought the closer to each other. The more Nilanjana got to know Vikram deeply the more she started admiring her and respecting her personality and simplicity. The spent most of their time together while managing their studies and every other thing well. They got habituated with each other and became dependent on each other a lot in those 4 years, but never confessed their inner feeling directly in front of each other. After completing the graduation, the time came when Nilanjana had to leave for US (Pennsylvania) to pursue Masters from Pennsylvania State University. One day before leaving India, Nilanjana got shocked and amazed as well when Vikram proposed her for marriage. Both of them promised each other to stay loyal in their relationship & will get married after returning from US (but no pressure or commitments from either side) and thus it will make their bond stronger. She left for US and did face a lot of struggle to manage there at first while settling up. But she adjusted herself well according with the new place very soon and this time Arunabh was the one who helped Nilanjana to manage there. Arunabh was doing PhD. from the same university and a Bengali also. He gave every kind of support and was always there for her in any kind of situation whenever she was in need of. Nilanjana found the best friend in Arunabh and she realized that Arunabh was a man of his words with genuine personality, caring nature. His humbleness owned her completely, but she knew the limit of their friendship and maintained herself to keep inside the line. As soon as she figured out that Arunabh loved her and had feelings for her, she decided to tell him all the truth about Vikram and her relationship and she did so. Arunabh was a gem of a person and he understood the whole matter and continued to become her best friends and to support her in anyway. But things were not so simple and easy going from the other side (Vikram). The day Nilanjana returned from US after completing her studies, she realized that something has changed Vikram completely. He was not the same person she knew long back. This is what made Nilanjana to think about their relationship once again…
What happened after that? What was the reason that Vikram made him change his soul and mind completely? What will be the decision of Nilanjana after knowing everything from Vikram’s mouth? Will they be able to live happily ever after….or….destiny has some other plans in store for them? To know the rest of the story, all you need to do is to pick this book up and go through their story.
Authoress Shilpi Chaklanobis has beautifully depicted the maturity in love and this book helps us to realize the depth of the relationship, be it friendship or love of family, whatever you are in. This book has messages for all- one should value and breathe for one’s own self also. Love is beyond any kind of conditions and dominations. It is not that only spending days after days under the same roof is where love lies. It’s certainly not. Love demands understating each other, giving time and importance to each other and ultimately…it demands sacrifice as well. Being in love doesn’t mean to lose the own identity in the phase of loving each other. Any person who is in love with someone has the full right to love but along with keeping their value intact with other. Attention & time, mutual care and having proper open conversation are something that is must to keep any relationship going. You really can never take anyone for granted in a relationship and you shouldn’t either. All of these are presented in the book very well. Author has mentioned about Kolkata and has given brief but fine descriptions about ‘The City Of Joy’. As I personally have deep attachment with Kolkata and also connected in various way to the places mentioned here, I felt connected with the book instantly. Being a Bengali myself, I was amazed and was having pleasure in reading the names of the Bengali dishes, street foods of Kolkata, the festival of Durga Puja, roaming around the heart of Kolkata during those days whole night and having fun…everything was making me nostalgic while reading. Bengali dishes…jodio ami machh ba mangso konotai khai na!!!! (“Though I eat neither fish nor meat actually”), uses of Bengali words (with meaning) and culture are mentioned here while in conversations. Not only Bengali, or Kolkata… Actually Shilpi Ma’am has given description of Delhi, popular places there, Delhi foods and other things,Punjabi culture and Dhaba and dishes, Guruduara, and some brief description of Pennsylvania also and about the situation there. I learnt about a new tradition though and that is called “Gauna Tradition”; got to know some shocking truth from that. A old classic song from Razia Sultana is mentioned there in the book also. Every emotions and different shades of Nilanjana & Vikram are portrayed perfectly here. I admire the personality and nature of Vikram & Arunabh both. I liked reading the book and one of the reason is the character of Arunabh of course… And the ultimate point is what destiny wants….because….that’s how it’s meant to be….
I would like request the people in love or was in love once and the other people too..to read the book once. I really liked reading the book and hopefully you will also. Thanks to Shilpi Ma’am & all the best for her future endeavors.
My Rating (overall)- 4/5.

“Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.”
― Allen Saunders

‘That’s how it’s Meant to Be’ is a poignant tale of love. Despite the clichéd plot where a love triangle affects three lives in one go and leaves one wanting for more, this story offers moments of genuine pathos and elaborates on the paraphernalia of a happy life. Love is believed to surpass all emotions and be bellyful to combat any ordeal. Welcome to the real world and the thinking changes, for love is insufficient. The real world demands more.

In short, the story revolves around a Bengali girl, who has spent her childhood with a lot of friends and with family. Life changes course for her when she leaves the city for higher studies. She meets her opposite (in terms of personality) and falls in love because opposites attract, don’t they? Bound by the chains of apprehension and anxiety, both- Nilanjana and Vikram, abstain from spilling the beans that they love each other. And when they do, it is too late, for Nilanjana has already found a soft corner for Arunabh.

Love triangles are common for us; we have heard and seen many stories based on the same theme. So what makes this book different? The unequivocal expression of love is well set. The narration sets the tone and makes it all sound more real. We can all empathize with the characters and that is what makes this story impactful.

That's How It's Meant To Be by Shilpi Chaklanobis is a sensitive love triangle. It is a clean and pure story that can be enjoyed by all age groups. Although the story is set in contemporary India, it crosses the barriers of time and place. It is an universal story which can happen anywhere between people in love. The writing style is simplistic and honest. The writer has a careful eye on details, which is praiseworthy. While reading the story, I remembered yesteryear movies by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee. Yes. it's that kind of a novel, based on simplistic relationships, expectations, heartbreaks, and gradual ascent of an individual over social norms to fulfill her dreams in life.

The first half of the narrative takes time to pick up pace, but right from the point Gudiya's sub plot is introduced, the book is edgy and un-putdownable. The ending is too good and the writer has created an air of suspense which will make the reader wonder what will happen with the protagonist in the end. All the three central characters are well sketched out and identifiable. The novel centers around a strong and independent woman called Nilanjana, whom you cannot help but like immensely; simply because, she is no superhuman, but one of us. She makes mistakes, learns from it, but then boldly takes the correct steps.

The story is very serious and does not contain the frivolous elements of commercial fiction, like slapstick comedy or acts of physical intimacy. However, if you are in the mood of reading the tale of a woman's life, her aspirations, expectations, love, heartbreak, and her journey through life, pick this book up. You won't be disappointed.

Intrigue:
Unlike the traditional love stories, protagonist Nilanjana and Vikram experience caring, friendship, dreams, affection, feelings for one another being in love. Arunabh’s presence made the story quite interesting. The Plot is very touchy that readers can closely related to their experiences. Author defines a perfect definition for the saying “True love is selfless. It is prepared to sacrifice.” in this plot. Nice cover page with a beautiful background hints the story to the readers somewhat.

Overall I rate this a 3.25/5 with a decent narration and notable story line, I personally feel this story would have been narrated in about 40 to 45 pages instead of unnecessarily dragging it and hence reducing the reader’s interest. Also I feel the story could have had a better ending.

An adorable tale of Love !

Lemme commence my review with the with the cover page...The cover is designed by Divyam Kaushik Sir, it is something I really admire about this book. The front cover depicts the picture of a couple from their back sides which is really romantic. The boy holding the girl describes the deep eternal bond, namely love. I wanna say that the cover aptly justifies the tale and everyone could easily sense the romanticism in the scenario.
Next comes the title, “That’s how it’s meant to be” tempting enough to trigger romanticism in the readers mind.
The characterisation is pretty well and good. The protagonist (Nilanjana) and the other major, minor characters as well are beautifully portrayed in the tale. The characters mentioned in the book are as follows - Nilanjana, Sudipa (Nilanjana’s Mother), Debashish (Nilanjana’s Father), Vikram, Priyanka, Anusha, Aditya, Arunabh, Ghosh Aunty, Riddhi, Amrita, Sheela, Gudiya.
Born in a silver spoon, the protagonist Nilanjana was a girl with high aspirations. She being the only kid of her parents was like a pampered kid. After gathering much courage she could finally take admission in JNU, Delhi wherein she meets Vikram (Vicky) who was a Ph.D aspirant. Finding myriads of similarities Nilanjana started admiring him and gradually both falls in love with each other but none expressed. It was the day before when Nilanjana would fly US for higher studies Vicky comes to express his concealed feelings for her. After a matured commitment towards their relationship Nilanjana finally flown to pursue her dreams. The day Nilanjana returned from US after completion of her studies, she realised that something has changed Vikram completely which made her ponder about relationship, again.
What happened after that ? What was the reason that Vikram made himself change his soul and mind completely? Moreover what plans does destiny have for them ?

To know, grab the book folks. You will be amazed, for sure.

You need not hold a dictionary in order to read this book. Being an aspiring writer this book has a wonderful collection of words. It will strengthen your vocabulary skills with the essence of classic words used by the authoress.
Kudos to your skills ma'am.

Finally Verdict : I can't be much stern to give this book 4 stars, for its an wonderful book.
We often think romance, feel romance but the moment we hold our pen we often fail fail to pen down the beauty and depth love is enticed with. Many aspiring writer must have came across this situation.

'That's How It's Meant To Be' is the story of Nilanjana who made her way to her dreams like a boss. The story begins at Kolkata and like any typical Indian family, her parents Debasish and Sudipa had also high hopes for their daughter. Nilanjana's childhood, enjoying chicken roll with her friends and getting all set for Puja with loads of shopping and then leaving for JNU to take a step towards to fulfill her dreams were the highlights of first few chapters. Once in JNU her life took a totally different way, not with a lot of friends but with few friends on whom she could rely at any time. Vikram's perception towards life made her fall for him. Even though they both were in love with each other, in the fear of losing friendship no one couldn't come up to express their feelings until the day she was leaving for Pennysalvia to pursue higher studies. Vikram proposed her and they got into a relationship just the day before she was leaving. After reaching there, life had few more surprises for her in form Arunabh. Even though she looked up to him as a friend always, the way he was concerned for her and took her care, made it obvious that he was in love with Nilanjana. But Nilanjana maintained the line in between love and friendship. Once done with her studies, when she came back to India and her life changed drastically will leave you amazed.

The author has managed to cast a magic spell to keep a reader a hooked even though it's just another college romance and struggles in life. There are few places where the emotions were described in beautifully even with simpler words. As an instant, 'In a place where everyone is constantly surrounded by a million people, screaming, shouting, wanting to be heard, how do they pick out their feeble voice from the rest? And when they feel lost in the chaos of the big bad world, a place like this feels like an oasis.' The author has kept the story to and fro motion in between past and present which is creating a bit of confusion at places. The flow and pace of the story are not same everywhere. At places, the pace is way too fast while somewhere the pace is way too slow which is making the plotholes look appropriate. The cover is somehow complimenting the storyline and the editing is making the book a perfect read for those who love reading romance genre and chick-flicks.

It is a simple story yet with a complicated tale. Nilanjana is a strong woman and is ambitious about her life and the livelihood she desired all her life what she wants in her life. She is determined and desired to be an independent human. Each and everything is explained nicely by the author and the love triangle generated in the story grew well.

It is a simple and emotional book which holds several strata and circumstances faced in real life. Language is easy to understand and a gripping story ends well.

The book starts with Nilanjana, who is thinking about Vikram and his changed behavior. She has to take an important decision but she is confused.

After this, the chapter takes us to the flashback. Nilanjana is an only child of Sudipa and Debashish. They want to give her all the happiness of the world. Her childhood spends in the protective environment of her parents and the beautiful place of Kolkata. Her parents want her to be a successful person in life. Knowing her parents wish, she left no stone unturned.

After schooling, for further studies she moves to Delhi and living alone was the hardest task for her. But time makes her adjust everything. During this time, she meets Vikram. He is a son of rich parents but Vikram’s aura makes him distinct and slowly they become a close friend.

Next, Nilanjana decides to go to the US for higher studies as this is a dream of her parents. As soon as days come nearer, Vikram and Nilanjana realize their love to each other. They made a promise and she flies away to the US.

Being in a long distance relationship was not easy but she protected the seed of Vikram’s love throughout the time.

When she came back to India, she got to know that Vikram is a changed man now. And now she has to take the hardest decision in her life.

This book doesn’t end here, and at the end, Nilanjana takes a strong decision which is practical but hard to digest.

Writing style:

The author has kept language very simple which is suitable for all type of readers. The narration is impeccable. The author has avoided over explanation. You can easily finish this book in one or two sittings.

My perception:

After reading this book, I kept pondering over the decision of Nilanajna. Some may find it rude and some may find it good. However, the author has left it to the readers. This is not a bubbly kind of love story but a mature and practical story where love redefines. I can totally feel the helplessness of Nilanjana. Other than this, the author has used some beautiful metaphors which are totally enchanting. Description of Kolkata can never fail to amuse readers. Overall, this book is beautiful and totally worth to read. Do not miss it!

This is a story about love and friendship. Love is not just about feelings. The twist and turns of love, the heartbreaks, pain, joy are beautifully portrayed through the story. The story revolves around Nilanjana, a Bengali girl and Vikram, a Punjabi guy. But their relationship doesn't move on the usual track. The story takes a completely different turn midway. Characterisation has played an important role in the story. I especially loved the character of Arunabh, who emerges as a loyal friend. The character of Nilanjana, a strong, independent woman is no doubt lovable and admirable. The author has wonderfully put forth a complex love triangle in such a dramatic way, which is indeed praiseworthy. I must say the author has an uncanny ability to make her readers immerse completely in the world of her story. The story depicts the different dimensions and depth of Love. I loved the fact that part of the story is based on Kolkata. Being a Bengali myself, I really enjoyed the glimpses of Bengali culture.

The cover is wonderful, with a contemporary touch! The language is simple yet at some places shows a lot of depth. The story seemed a bit dragged at some places. The beginning was slow-paced but the story soon picked up pace. The theme is nice, the plot is well chosen. The blurb is crisp and nice. The title is catchy, it arouses a natural curiosity among the readers.

Overall it's a nice story. A must read! Something that'll leave a deep impact upon your mind and indeed leave you pondering. 💟💟

THAT'S HOW IT'S MEANT TO BE ( REVIEW )

My Verdict
That's How It's Meant To Be written by Shilpi Chaklanobis is a story of a girl who dared to dream lived that dream to the fullest. The storyline is set in the backgrounds of Kolkata. Parents hope and wish the best for us and that is what her parents did. After completing her studies in JNU, when Nilanjhana leaves for Masters in Pensylvania, her friend failed to express his feelings to her in the fear of losing a gem of friendship. After reaching Pen, Arunabh came in like a Christmas carol and blessed her with a new perception towards life. What happens next when she comes back to India? How does these three come over this love triangle? Who gets whom? and Who is left barehanded?

The story is weaved beautifully with elements of love, friendship, and dreams. A 'to and fro' motion is the grounds on which the infrastructure of this story is built. That created a bit of confusion between tenses and hover around between past and present. At places, the pace is way too fast while somewhere the pace is way too slow which is making the plotholes look appropriate. The language is simple yet at some places shows a lot of depth. Also, the plot was dragged at places but the way in which emotions are put makes the reader stick to the book. The cover adds us as a complimentary close to this amazing novel.

The plot beautifully describes the idea of love and friendship keeping the contemporary India at the backdrop. The author had beautifully crafted the characters playing with all the emotions throughout the book. Anurabh, Nilanjana and Vikram together prove that Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won't either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted as many as you could.
The cover is very beautiful along with the narration. Sometimes, all we need is just one person who believes in us and who will never give up on us. Someone who sees beyond our weaknesses, beyond our faults. Who knows that though we walk in darkness, we can still find our way into the light?
And that’s how it’s meant to be.

That's how it's meant to be is the journey if a girl nilanjana, an ambitious, introvert kinda girl, living in kolkata, who loves her family and wants to accomplish all her dreams. Life is like abbed of roses for her till she is in school as till then she is dependent on the love and care of her parents but after her schooling she decides to complete her graduation from delhi, the decision of leaving her family and living all alone in a hostel life was like a nightmare to her but gradually she gets accustomed to changes and meets vikram for whom she fell in love with. But life is not that simple, so is the case with nilanjana's life too, in her journey of life she falls in love, is loved back, lives her dreams, has to leave her dreams for her love and finally again finds her dreams back. This is a beautiful story which leaves traces of true love, one - sided love , sacrifice and fulfillment of your dreams and living your life as you wish to. Overall a good read. The book cover and title both go well with the story and the narration and language was also in flow with the story. Loved to read such a lovely piece.

That's How It's Meant To Be is a story about growing up, falling in love, falling out of it, and making your own identity.

I felt that Nilanjana was the only character that was well developed and complete. But I guess since it's her story, it's alright. Not good, but okay.

The storyline is well thought out, and the writing style is pretty impressive, though the beginning wasn't all that interesting. It was way too passive, with no action. And that's definitely not how I like my beginnings.

Another thing that irked me was the fact that some characters were only introduced when they were absolutely needed. Like Nilanjana's roommates weren't named or introduced until months later at her birthday party. Similarly, Vikram never talked about his nanny until the accident with his sister. This sudden appearances of new characters were a definite put off, but if you can ignore that fault, the book is actually a pretty good read.

Overall, it was good enough to finish reading, but I won't be reading it again.

A beautiful story that has captured the true emotions and the helplessness of Nilanjana who was chirpy in the beginning and when she got to feel the meaning of LOVE, it went up a notch higher. However there was something that life had to offer her.

The protagonist proved yet again that women should not treated just for the sake of being married and to get pregnant to deliver the baby and look after them because they too have emotions, aspirations and ambitions.

Nilanjana fell in love with a smart and affluent guy Vikram but she has to go away from him for couple of years. During this time, she meets up with Arunabh who made her notice him for his selfless attitude. Did that mean Vikram was selfish?

Vikram never was and never will be.

What made Vikram to change drastically?

Why did Nilanjana despite being married to Vikram could not find the solace she was seeking?

Read the novel to find answers for all of them which has been depicted in a brilliant and subtle way.

This is the story of Nilanjana, her struggles, her dreams, her aspirations, her love and all about her life. Nilanjana is a young and beautiful woman who has done all she wanted and aspires to become an independent woman.

She has the support of her parents who love her dearly. And life seems all so perfect after she meets Vikram. The stylish and magnificent Vikram has his own tale. Yet these opposites somehow hope to create a world of their own.

But after two years, will their long-distance relationship survive? What will happen when they get reunited? Does their love pass the test of time? Are they the same man and woman who fell madly in love with each other, when they meet again, after two years?

All these answers lie in the pages of the book by Shilpi Chiklanobis.

Blurb-
Love transcends distance, time and age. It's beyond the customs of the world around us that spin us into a frenzy. People meet, they fall in love, that's where your usual love story might end. But not this one. For this is not a love story, this is a story about love. When Nilanjana meets Vikram in the strangest circumstances, they fall in love with each other against all odds. The quintessential Bengali girl finds herself smitten by your not so spoilt Punjabi guy. But sometimes, life throws lemons at you and you ask yourself, is love enough to keep two people together? Come on the journey of a lifetime that makes you wonder, introspect, dive in your deepest thoughts, only to come out wiser. Experience, anger, joy, surprise and love. Experience, LIFE.

Review-
Shilpi Chaklanobis has really done a worthy writing. This book is worth reading for every lover who thinks living away for a long time means losing love. Which is totally wrong and this book proves it. The way the narration done is quite impressive. Proper plot with good phrases makes it a good read. This book is based on a common love triangle but yet unheard story. All we readers find in every book is something new. And this book has it. Nilanjana a simple girl who has dreams of studying abroad, doing something for her parents because she is the only daughter they have. Wanted to work in a MNC. She never wanted to fall in love with Vikram but it was destined for her to fall for Vikram. What's the triangle in it? Well this book has to be read and understand in order to find the suspense and the interesting climax. The starting is a bit slow but it starts getting interesting after 6 pages. The way the love is described seemed interesting.

Inside the book
The story is taken me through the journey of the bosom of a young woman, named Nilanjana. Who belonged to a middle-class Bengali Family? From the childhood itself, she already dreamed to turn a successful person in her life. The story started in high school, in teenage, she has a very less friend. She dreamed to study in JNU, Delhi and by good fortune, it was fulfilled. Now the crucial times come when she has to leave Kolkata, their festival and Bapi and Maa. If we want something, then we have to lose something, the law of life. New place, new people and she were not familiar with hostel life and self-manage all sorts of matters. Priyanka was her Roommate; at initial stages they don’t talk a lot, just a formal talk. Time passes and now she becomes a good acquaintance with her roommate and Priyanka took her to college canteen. Where she co-incidentally met Vikram, a rich guy with nice personality. He is currently pursuing Ph.D. studies. In the same college and due to his helping nature, both came close, but all things are not known to any other person.
Both loved each other, but scared to share the feelings with each other. But everything has a time and when it knocks at your threshold, you can’t avoid it. Same thing happens with Nilanjana and Vikram, they both confess their love at the college ceremony endpoint. That was the last time they will see each other. Love arises in between two hearts. Now the question is she has to fulfill her dreams to study in the USA. She continues her studies there and their long-distance relationship keeps on. But nowadays it’s too difficult to extend this type of relationship. What will be the circumstances comes into their lifespan. Did their love life will success or not. What if she had to choose in between love and aspiration. To know more go through the book.

Review
The record cover design is suited to the theme of the book. Story narration is good, but in between, it’s broken readers grip on some levels. Story flow is boring sometimes. The book is running only with three characters of the book and in this event, it's not up to the mark. Language is simple yet beautiful. I recommend to all novel lover, this volume. This is just a one-time read.
