What do you do when your mate is a cruel and merciless Alpha? Easy. You run… Dawn has been rogue for over a year, hiding from her mate; Alpha Rylan. Being the leader of the Purity Pack has not stopped him from leading needless executions, making countless threats and chasing after Dawn relentlessly. Using simple tricks, he lures his mate closer, until her criminal past attracts an Alpha who wants her dead. Can Rylan protect his mate from vengeance, while at the same time keeping her under his control? And can Dawn keep her packs morals of purity, and resist Rylan, staying his personal fugitive forever?
I keep reading this series hoping it will get better and it doesn't. The author can't seem to keep the story straight. Says one thing and then says something to contradict it later. Dawn was only supposed to have been running from rylan for a year when the story started and later in the book she said her sister had been living in the wild for years. Maybe the author needs to outline the books better to keep everything straight. It's truly disappointing because the base of the stories are good but the way they are portrayed is hard for me to enjoy. I also did not like that a conflict was recycled from a previous book in the series. I thought it was extremely uncreative. It was slightly saved by what happened after that but I still found it annoying.
Alpha Series: Alpha Rylan by Midika Crane ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I enjoyed all of these books in The Alpha Series. Midika Crane can rocked anybody's world for the 6th installment in a row, with a fantastic new story in an already extraordinary series. She made me laugh. She made me cry. And she made me enjoy these characters. Dawn has been a rogue for over a year, hiding from her mate; Alpha Rylan. She feels that her mate is a cruel and merciless Alpha. Even though staying away from him is driving her crazy, giving her terrible headaches and forcing her to stay away from other people. You see, they come from everyone, like she’s a receptor for inner monologues. Except the voice belongs to Alpha Rylan as always he is telling her to come to him. Dawn has no idea how she is able to stay away from her true mate because she wants to see him. Well it's not a complete Midika Crane’s book without a strong Alpha Male Werewolf. Rylan is just that but he is also the Alpha of the Purity Pack. The chemistry between Dawn and Rylan is scorching hot and it's absolutely off the charts with everything you expect between a Alpha werewolf with his true mate and then some. Of course they are constantly butting heads, but Rylan is stubborn enough to stick around and lures his mate closer. I enjoyed how the author builds the sexual tension up slowly, but when the two of them are together, it's feels as if they will combust. There are lots of surprises in Alpha Rylan book. Although Alpha Rylan’s story is fascinating, I never expected the story to have two strong minded women, or that they are sisters. This book is sexy, surprising, and poignant, delivering 100% on the promise of its premise. When I finished reading it I wanted to go back and read parts of it again. I can’t believe that I hadn't read this series from Midika Crane before I did. Yet I'm glad I got to picked up this series now and read it. There is only one thing I didn't enjoy but I don't want to spoil it for other readers, but I can say it doesn't end like the other Alphas. But it's a excellent read, it's the first time in this series that the alpha mate escape the alpha. These two characters are fated for each other. All of the characters will make you turn page after page as quick as you can to see where the author will end this story for the ending will be importance to you the readers. I highly recommend this book and the five in the series. But I hope this isn't the end story of this series.
I have read all the Alpha series so far and this was one of my least favorites. There wasn't much progress in their relationship and what is up with the author's obsession with Phantom Wolves now. We met Rylan in other books and he was so much different. The story line here doesn't fit what we know of him from other books. I was not impressed with Dawn, she wavered back and forth too much. And for a 10 year old, Lucy was too mature and worldly. It was almost like she was in charge. The whole back story to them is weird also. A little more explanation would have been nice. Plus how did Rylan figure out Dawn was his mate? I have read the progress on Fate on Wattpad and I think that it actually needs to be read before this book. We haven't met an immortals besides him in any of the other books. I thought the book ended too soon. There needs to be more story line around what and who Lucy is or there better be another book about Dawn. Also they told Dawn she wouldn't be able to get pregnant 'again" so was she before? And don't Jasper and Thea have kids? There is too much off in this book, and Rylan is too wishy washy for my to like this one. I got this from InkittExclusive
This was an okay read I fell in love with this series from the beginning As I said before Crane's use of human emotions and reactions for the pack names is ingenious - Love, Harmony, Vengeance - her descriptive world building and character descriptions are top notch But- with this one she just did not do justice to her writing abilities I felt this story was a bit -hollow- there was so much more going on under the surface that was completely ignored - it felt like an outline for me It seemed Crane placed the breadcrumbs but failed to lead us on the journey Alpha Rylan was a complimentary copy I received
I am going to be completely honest with this review. I didn't read the whole book. I just couldn't get into it and I tried various times to. The world didn't capture my attention and Rylan and Dawn just annoyed me that I decided to not carry on. This isn't to say that others might not enjoy the book, definitely give it a go because what one person doesn't like doesn't mean you won't enjoy it. I did skip to the epilogue to see how it ends and that maybe that would push me to read the full story but after reading the ending I am glad that I didn't spend time on finishing the book.
When I requested this book, I didn't realize it was a part of series. This can be read as a standalone. It was an entertaining story, but none of the characters were likable. I found myself going from being interested to not really caring towards the middle of the book. I didn't have a problem with how it was written, it just wasn't what I was expecting. I was slightly expecting a little more. At one point there were so many characters in one scene, it was a little hard to keep track of who is where. With that being said, I will read the rest of the series.
It was good, but I found it was lagging in some places and the story wasn't moving along. The characters could have a little more "something" that distinguishes them from the others; Rylan had "typical" werewolf behavior by being possessive about his mate, but it was repetitive since almost all were books are like that (possessive mate). It would have been nice to have something other than that to describe the Alpha (like, come on... you can't lead a pack by being only possessive...)
Alpha Rylan by Midika Crane Review When do you stop RUNNING?
What do you do when your mate is a cruel and merciless Alpha? Easy. You run… Dawn has been rogue for over a year, hiding from her mate; Alpha Rylan. Being the leader of the Purity Pack has not stopped him from leading needless executions, making countless threats and chasing after Dawn relentlessly. What did I like? This is about the sixth book in this series that I have read and it did not fail me in interest, excitement, and mystery. Each has been different due to the pack that is featured in the storyline but I really like how they cross over to the group. The strong female lead in this one is awesome and her taking care of her sister is heart rendering.
What will you like? Talk about the mystery with a capital M, this one has it. The twists and turns will capture you from the beginning but don’t get in a rut because there are so many you may get whiplash! Very strong and developed characters that will cause your emotions to soar, a storyline that is amazing and full of amazing twists with more plots that will take a genius to figure out! As the pages turn so does the storyline….. Another interesting and addictive read. Can’t wait for the next one! I received this from the Publisher for an honest review.
I thought this book had a lot more potential than what was actually produced. From reading the description, I was excited to give this a read but as I got further into the book, it became more unrefined and harder to understand the quick plot changes. The whole idea of dawn running from Rylan could have been utilised so much better! such as when the books first starts, its coming from a a year after they met. I personally think it would have been better having them meet, why she ran away from him the process of trying to find her. To be honest that would have been enough for the whole book if done right. It would have allowed for more of the other packs to be involved as she hides in them instead of them randomly popping up when she got ill (which was also random and added nothing to the plot). Also, i under stand the whole part of Rylan and his character change but i think it was poorly done and was rushed. Fate, and sinful evolvement wasn’t necessary and didn’t add to anything. And why can she so easily summon them? Again another plot hole. Im more just frustrated because there was so much room for potential in this book that could have added to the other books in the series too. Another thing to add is her sister?! Why did she run off in the end from a few silly words of fate? She could have easily gotten help. I debated of rating this 2 or 3 stars but decided on 3 because it isn’t a bad read. Confusing at times? Yes. But i still read it all. If you haven’t read the other books I guess it’s fine as a stand alone.

***I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
I was excited about this book as soon as I was contacted by someone from Inkitt for a review. It sounded so interesting and I couldn’t wait to read it. I am glad I did because wow! Pure complicated genius!! The characters are just as complex as the plot, if not more. I mean there are Gods or Entities that the shifters worship. Things are very interwoven and there are twists around every corner. It’s really like you never know what’s going to happen next. This is the type of book that you don’t want to put down. I didn’t know that this book was in a series so I was a little confused as to what was happening sometimes. I also didn’t like some of the characters. This is why I only gave the book 4 stars. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who would enjoy this type of book. So what are you waiting for? Try reading a book with different types of God- like beings with attitudes with their own agendas. What’s not interesting about that?
I read the other Alpha books and I liked them they all ended well but this story had so many questions sorry for the spoilers but first off why didn't Dawn bring her sister back since she was a phantom wolf and why didn't Dawn make a bargain with fate to take Lucy's gift since it would be such a burden and maybe give it to a potential child of her and Rylan's and give her a child like Thea and Jasper so that Dawn wouldn't have had to leave her mate. Also will there be a book about Kace since he was had been in Landons story and Graysons story and Kadens strand a big part in this story. I think he's earned a back story. Then there is the fact that Lucy's death caused the split of Kaden and Mara I'm hoping they can get things worked out since Lucy is now back from the dead. All in all it was a good story my hope is there will be a next one and hopefully some of these questions will be answered.
sorry to say this, but like some other readers, this one is one of my least favourite and I did not finish the book. That's rare for me because I like to finish what I started, but I could not read about alpha Rylan without being bored about his convictions and his morals. I would have liked to discover an alpha who's prepared te send his morals straight to hell for the love of his mate. Mate that is ruuning from him for this exact reason! instead, he's turning into a murderer and a torturer in order to find her, and when she's near him, he's not willing to fall to his knees and let her know how much he missed her during her absence.....I am sorry but I am dispointed by his behviour
I must begin by saying that this was an emotional rollercoaster for me. I could sympathize with Dawn and her motivations. The plot was well thought out. The ending was just a little abrupt for my tastes. I have not read any of the rest of the series, so there were some things I did not understand, but if one is of reasonable intuition and intelligence, there's not any issue following along and understanding. There were some typos and glitches in my download, but they did not distract too much from the story. It was a good, quick read.
* I read this book through a download from Inkitt *
Dawn has been in hiding from her mate Alpha Rylan for over a year, she thinks he is a cruel and merciless Alpha. Staying away from him is making her crazy and ill, her sister is getting worried about her and thinks maybe going to her mate may not be a bad thing if it means her health improves....... Rylan is the Alpha of the Purity Pack and the chemistry between them is scorching hot even if they are constantly battling each other but Rylan needs his mate closer. There are lots of surprises with twists you don't expect which makes for a really great read.
This series is just getting better and better. I love how we see the characters from all the other stories in each new story. You can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next. And each story is so different from the next. I am not emotionally attached to each and every one. I do plan on buying the entire series once they are all released so I can enjoy them all together.
The author has done a wonderful job of tying the stories together and moving forward.
I am not happy with her leaveing Rylan ugh, they could have figured it out together! I love this story but Dawn teed me off a few times lol, running from him but I guess being from two different packs and not understanding both their ways is a little problem. But I really want them back together, and what the check sinful?? Lol must be the Devil ugh. Moon goddess is his mate yikes
Well, I don't remember much of the book now, it seems I've managed to reach book 6? Hmmm, I vaguely remember the plot, but I liked Midika Crane's books and they were good as far as I can remember. Dawn running from Alpha Ryan because he's cruel, cunning, and ruthless, an asshole, for short, only to come back to him and realize that he's the complete opposite, cliche... But really no hate, I just happened to like this book then.
I have really enjoyed all the stories in this series! i stumbled upon the series on my kindle And read the whole lot in a week! I would just really love to know when the next one will be out, as I have heard midika talk about doing further books in this series. That's the only disappointment for me, that I can't get my hands on the next book, or know which characters story it will be next! If anyone has any idea would love to know!
It was another heartbreaking story that's for sure. It wasn't as good as the first 3 but better than the 4th. Man these mates are getting evil. Bad alphas. I'm scared to be honest. I just feel like books that had happy ending no longer do and that I was lied to the whole time. Awesome job again Midika!
It was a decent read up until the end. The ending felt very rushed. I felt like all character development was thrown out the window. The plot is good, it had a lot of potential, but I feel it wasn't executed probably as best as the author would've wanted. I will be reading the other books in the series because I think this author has good concepts but this book just didn't do it for me.
The Alpha series has great resemblance with A Court of Thorns and Roses series. I wouldn’t consider this as a “fresh” idea. Rylan was boring. The only book that’s worth the hype is Alpha Kaden and Alpha Malik. Although the storyline wasn’t enticing, the author has a great talent for writing.
Wow. Another great book in this wonderful series. But it ended on a cliffhanger!!! Now I will have to wait and see what happens. I really enjoyed this story of Alpha Rylan and his runaway mate Dawn. They certainly went through some difficult times. Can't wait for the next one.
It’s a good book. It keeps you guessing from the start with a bit of comic relief. Some spelling and grammar mistakes but I can overlook those if the story is good enough.
This book just drags and drags and then at the end it ruins all the other books. Worst book leaves you depressed and feeling stupid for having finished it.
