I am a huge fan of JB Salsbury's Fighting series and I really enjoyed Harper Sloan's Corps Security series. So it was a no-brainer for me to pick this book up. Normally, I find novellas to be on the short side and find it difficult to fully connect to the characters. However, that was not the case with Fighting for Honor. I was surprised with how much of a complete story the author was able to tell with this book. There was no rushing and nothing seemed forced. JB did an incredible job with the plot and characters. Caleb was protective but not overbearing, Honor was a very strong woman that had been hurt in the past. Honor definitely didn't make it all too easy for Caleb to come into her life, but I was also glad that she didn't play hard to get.

These two were made for each other. This was a great contemporary romance, with very steamy sex scenes. Even though, I was satisfied with this novella, I would've still loved for them to get a full-length novel. After finishing this book, I am even more excited for the last book in the Fighting Series: The Final Fight.

Fans of Harper Sloan's Corps Security & Hope Town series and JB Salsbury's Fighting series are in for a treat in this delectable three-way merger!! I swear, I would have never expected some of my most favorite book series to be combined into one but JB Salsbry did it.

We see Axel Reid, we see Blake and Jonah, Cohen, Izzy and more!! Awww, how I loved this!!

Fighting for Honor was a very cute read. It centers around new characters, Caleb and Honor. Caleb, is an up and coming UFL fighter returning from England to his childhood summer rental in Home Town, Georgia to prepare for a fight that he is headlining. Training for what could make or break his entire career, he comes across Honor--- a blast from the past that caught his attention when they were both young teenagers, now working as a cook and cleaner at Caleb's rental.

Never the type to back down from what he wants, Caleb decides there and then that he will not let another opportunity go to finally claim the girl who has always resonated in his heart.

But with the fight of his life on the verge, paparazzi running amuck, and Honor's childhood tormentors looking to weigh their hand in her and Caleb's budding relationship ~~ Caleb finds himself in a battle for his career and for Honor.

Can he stake a name for himself in the UFL world? Can he protect the girl he loves and keep her safe?

Ladies, be ready to add another book boyfriend to your list and more as you will fall in love with Caleb and the rest of the Fighting and Corps Security men!

Fighting for Honor was written by JB Salsbury, who is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.

Fighting for Honor was a cross over for Salisbury’s Fighting series and Harper Sloan’s Corps Security series.

Caleb “The Destroyer” Dean was a popular MMA fighter. As a child, his favorite vacations were spent in Hope Town, Ga and he decided that would be a great place to hide out and train for his next big fight.

Honor Cartwright was born and raised in Hope Town but she was an outsider since she was poor and the granddaughter of a war vet that some called crazy. She was currently scraping by through cleaning rental houses and cooking for vacationers.

Fighting for Honor was aptly named. Honor was bullied her entire life by the locals. She remembered Caleb from childhood. He was two years older, usually nice to her but he always hung with the bullying crowd so she wanted nothing to do with him. The moment Caleb laid eyes on her again he was bound and determined to earn her friendship and win her over.

Salsbury took us through a journey of overcoming bullying, healing, learning confidence, standing ground and learning to live a life of self worth. Simultaneously she took us through the rigorous schedule of training for a fight. And lastly, she gifted us with our long time favorites from both series.

All in all, it was entertaining, well written, fun, humorous and a quick read. I’m not sure Salisbury’s direction next, but wherever she chooses to lead, I’ll follow.

Fighting for Honor combined two of my favorite worlds. JB Salsbury's Fighting crew, and Harper Sloans Corps Security.

Caleb Dean show's up in quiet little Hope Town to stay at the summer house he visited as a child. Needing a place to focus on his training while preparing for his next big fight. The temperature is hot and the training is even hotter.

Honor Cartwright, the awkward sweetheart from his past nearly knocks him on his ass when she shows up at his place. No longer the teenager who caught his eye, this grown up version of the blonde beauty has Caleb's undivided attention.

While trying to find a common ground that allows Honor to give Caleb a chance... The miscommunications of their past and the goals of their future make this journey to fall for each other the absolute sweetest ride. Along with the healthy dose of laughter we've come to expect from JB Salsbury.

This book doesn't waste time. It knocks down walls and builds up relationships. The help of the Corps Security team adds the most amazing secondary story of family that's not tied by blood, but by bond.
So for me, this book was two fold. It was a beautiful... and ... CRAZY HOT love story.

It was also a story about connections that go beyond duty, and the love and support that you always get when you travel to Hope Town. Curl up on the couch and get comfy. Because once you open this book, you won't want to close it.

fighting for honor
J.B. Salsbury- Fighting for honor
Release date:  September 26, 2017

ARC
I had previously read both the 'fighting series' by J.B. Salsbury and the 'Corps security series' by Harper Sloan. So, I was super excited when I found out that Fighting for Honor was a book based from both of these 'world'.
What surprised me most was how complete the story felt even though this book was just a novella. You don't feel skimped out on or rushed, though the book is short, you grow along with the characters and the plot.

As a fan of UFC myself and all things MMA related books, I knew I would like Caleb from the get go. He is protective without begin overbearingly and all things an Alpha male character would be. Honor on the other hand, sweet Honor, is an awkward sweetheart who knows all the facts about any war... from important facts to silly but quite surprisingly interesting facts like what brought down a German Sub during WWII... answer? Clogged toilet! hahaha!!!!!!
J.B. Salsbury has never disappointed her readers and this was no exception. I hope you guys give it try!
Happy Reading!

PS: I'm not even joking when I say that I Googled and made some of the dishes that Honor made in the book!

4-stars

PPS: I received an advanced readers copy from the author in return for an honest review.

4.5 Stars... This is a crossover read between JB Salsbury's "Fighting" series and Harper Sloan's "Corps Security" and "Hope Town" series... Caleb and Honor's connection and chemistry was intense and electric throughout this read; Honor with her sexy nerdiness, shy awkwardness, and amazing cooking skills and Caleb with his confident alpha male bravado that sweetened by his sexy boyishness... Add into that mix Jonah, Blake, Axel, Izzy, Cohen, and Nate along with a bevy of other memorable characters and you have a great mix of personalities, humor, sexiness, family, and friendship… I absolutely loved the interactions amongst all of these characters and the new relationships that were formed... Completely entertaining from the first page to the last:)

A wonderful short and sweet story of a beauty held under the thumb of the town bully until her white knight comes to town to train for his fight.

I absolutely loved the incorporation of Harper Sloan's Corps Security men into this.

Fighting for Honor was sheer perfection. Seriously. Sit down for a minute and I'll tell you why.

1. Kickass characters: Caleb and Honor are fabulous. Caleb in working and fighting his way to the top of the UFL chain. Reliving a bit of his youth by training in Hope Town. He's smart, sweet, sexy, protective and loving. Honor has struggled her whole life to fit in. But somehow she fits just perfectly with Caleb. She strong, smart, beautiful and honorable.

2. Kickass storyline. Caleb returning to the States to fight his big fight. Just happens to "run into" Honor at his rental house. Honor pushes all Caleb's protective buttons. And can't help but try to be Honor's white knight. Honor's been dealing with the reality of being the "crazy" colonel's granddaughter since she was a child. She's fought her own battles for years, but it sure is nice to have someone in her corner.

3. Sexy AF sexy times. Scorching hot. Seriously. Ovary exploding. Panty melting. Need I say more?

4. Amazing secondary characters. What's not to love about some of our most favorite characters from the Fighting and Corps Security series. Awesome to catch up with so many of them!

5. Perfect ending. Yes. It was perfect. A perfect conclusion to the love between Caleb and Honor. So much fun and love and romance. And I didn't want it to end.

JB Salsbury did a great job in Fighting for Honor of incorporating some of the characters from her Fighting series, introducing us to new ones (Caleb and Honor) and integrating many of Hope Towns beloved ones. This turns into a sweet romance when Caleb returns to his families summer vacation home to find Honor, the girl he never forgot about. Both Caleb's friends and the friendly people from the Corps Security family show Honor what it is like to have people who love and care about you.

Caleb enjoys the little things, “no, don’t feel bad. I think watching you eat will bring me more pleasure than eating it myself.” I loved the warm fuzzies Caleb got from Honor, “what if . . . I like cookin’ for you?” D***it to death, this woman and her sweet effing heart." I loved this book, Caleb was such a protective, alpha man.

How the hell did this author drum up all the emotion of a full length novel in half the pages?? I have no fucking clue but I love it.
For all you Harper Sloan/Corps Security readers out there, on behalf of the fun cage ladies and head of the JB Salsbury welcoming committee, I would formally like to thank you for letting “our boys” invade Hope Town. You have a lovely town and a top-of-the-line security detail! Sloan readers who have never visited our little Las Vegas fighting community and after reading this loved our boys as much as we do, I invite you to take a trip….come check us out. Jonah and Blake would LOOOOVE TO HAVE YOU. You would fit right in! “That’s what she said” I can hear Blake now…..gotta love that man.
If you loved the banter between our boys you need to start at the beginning with Jonah and work your way through every single fighter JB Salsbury so graciously provided us with. Trust me ladies, this was just the tip of the iceberg. You have no idea how much more there is in store.
For all you JB fans, YOU WILL BE SO EXCITED TO READ THIS! I want to formally welcome the newest member CALEB! Holy shit ladies, our boys better watch out because Caleb is going to steal your freaking heart. I know, we love all our fighters but come on, we all have our favorites. (*cough* Cameron)
Let me tell you, your favorite fighter better be whispering sweet nothings in to your ear while you’re reading this story because Caleb is going to be competing for that top spot.
JB Salsbury promised me she would not let us down. Promised me we haven’t heard the last from our boys and my girl came through. I am going to be totally honest, I am not nor have I ever been a fan of novellas. They are too short. How are you suppose to have those earth shattering emotions in such a short time. Especially when you are basically introducing a new character! Fall in love with a new character in anything less than a full length novel. Not happening. Until now.
I promise you this will feel like you have just read a 400 page fighter romance book. I promise you that you will feel ALL the emotions, the highs and the lows, the laughter and the tears. I always knew this author was amazing, I mean she writes the best fighter romance I have EVER read but I had no idea that she could perform miracles. Give this woman a few weeks and she can belt something like this out! JB Salsbury you absolutely have no excuse now. I want a Fighting Christmas novella, I want a fighting Valentine’s Day novella and while you’re at it, I want a “Just because it’s Wednesday” novella. Anytime I can get one, two, three or for the love of god more of these boys in the same room the better.
Congratulations JB on an AMAZING BOOK! FIGHTER SERIES BOOK #9! I say we go for double digits!
Speaking of double digits….how does 10 freaking stars sound!

5 Stars!

I'm slightly obsessed with Harper Sloan's world's, from Corps Security to Hope Town. I've been a fan of hers since her beginning and boy does she write with so much heart so when Harper announced her kindle world... I was ecstatic and then that author list was dropped and boom! My heart burst with so much happiness... I knew I had to devour all the words.

Now we are back in her world with our favorites and brand new characters. I knew it would be good...I knew it would be special..I just didn't expect...THIS.

In JB Salsbury's Fighting for Honor, we dive back into her Fighting world for an intense and captivating romance that will touch your soul and rock your entire world from start to finish. This book, which was epic on all levels, tugged at my heartstrings and pulled out all of my emotions but left me so full by the time the words stopped coming.

She wants to stay out of the spotlight. He's going to pull her in. Demons are lurking and the past is creeping in... they are in for the fight off their life...forever.

Caleb and Honor exploded onto my kindle in all the best ways. Salsbury delivered two characters and one journey that was undeniable, beautiful, addicting, and completely unforgettable. Every moment and every feeling in this book was amazingly done.

If you are a fan of Harper Sloan and/or JB Salsbury, geek even a newbie, then you must read this!

I highly recommend this book.

I’ve been a fan of the Fighting Series by J.B. Salsbury and the Hope Town Series by Harper Sloan since their beginning, so I was absolutely delighted when this project of Corps Security in Hope Town was announced. It promised a story packed with alpha men and a high dose of testosterone and that’s what I got!

Caleb Dean was introduced in the previous books of the Fighting Series and I enjoyed what I saw of him then. In Fighting for Honor I could finally see him at his full potential and I liked him so much.

Caleb is training in Hope Town, the town he used to visit in the summer in his teenage years, a few weeks before a fight in Atlanta. Honor is his neighbor but also the one hired to help with cooking and cleaning his house. He remembers the sweet and shy girl from his past, that’s grown into a sexy woman he’s very attracted to. From the beginning of the story, he treats Honor with a respect she’s rarely been showed. He sees that she has difficulty trusting people and he’s very courteous with her. He still has a very alpha personality and he’s not afraid to claim her as his and make her believe that what they share is something special.

Honor is strong while at the same time hiding a vulnerability that Caleb craves. Her life hasn’t been easy in this small town where she always felt excluded, because of her upbringing. Being bullied and make fun of has made her apprehensive of Caleb’s courtship, but they just connect so well and he’s just irresistible. Their relationship is really beautiful, but also gets intensely hot by moments too. The sparks between them ignite a fire that’s burning really hot.

What I enjoyed immensely about this book is that we get to meet old favorite characters from both series. I laughed so much over Jonah and Blake’s teasing of Caleb while training him. Absolutely hilarious moments! The men from the Corps Security protecting Caleb were also great to see again.

J.B. Salsbury wrote another amazing story where she merged very well these two series. Fighting for Honor has humour, sweetness, passion, heart and a certain dose of suspense. The endearing characters made this read a fabulous one I highly recommend.

I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.

This is a single serve book! Meaning you read it in one sitting.  I thoroughly enjoy the Corps Security/Hope Town/Fighting Series trinity love triangle!   JB’s amazing work incorporating characters from the other books were seamlessly intertwined.   JB’s ability to draw you into her story and keep you mesmerized so you forget the world around you is mind-blowing.  The perfect blend.

After all these years, Caleb returns to place where he spent his summer vacations and a feisty blond that he wanted to know better but didn’t get an opportunity.  Now, he’s back training for the biggest fight of his MMA career and the feisty blond is a distraction he wants but knows he should avoid.  Caleb gets some help with his distraction issue from his buddies Jonah and Blake.

Honor is doing everything she can just to keep a roof over her and her cat’s head by working for a rental properties management.  She’s shocked that Caleb is in one of the properties and she has to cook for him as well.  She’s always thought of him as one of the boys that tormented her growing up but what she finds is a different man and realize the boy wasn’t like the others.  He’s definitely filled out, tatted and sexy but she’s cautious about getting caught up in him since he’s only there training for the fight.  What happens to her afterwards?

Pick up this book and get lost with Caleb and Honor!

Fans of the Corps Security and Hope Town series by Harper Sloan will just love this spin off twist. Hope Town, Georgia holds meaning for a lot of different people. What happens when those folks cross paths with all our favorite alpha males and the even stronger women supporting them? Readers get a real treat! These could be read as stand alone novellas in their own right. But what a lovely tribute to the Hope Town gang to have these authors not only introduce us to new characters, but to have them interact with characters we are already so familiar with. Really well done by all the authors. Great little surprise reads!

Fighting for Honor

This one was my favorite of the group. I'm a huge fan of JB's fighter series as well so this just made for a perfect match up in my head. Loved the back story with Honor and Caleb. Really enjoyed seeing familiar fighters from JB's world. Corps Security jumped right in to help while Caleb and Honor took some time to get to know each other again. Sports romance AND second chance romance together! Throw in some great fight scenes and a bit of tension and suspense. Wonderful story!

Well holy crap Caleb where have you been hiding? He's a strong alpha mma fighter that will make you sigh and swoon. He remembers Bug from his teenage years and he definitely wants more now that he's all grown up.

Honor hasn't had a great life but she always had the love of her grandpa. She really isn't close to anyone but that's how it's always been. She remembers one boy that stuck up for her way back when but that's about it. No one has really had her back since then.

Caleb comes back to train for his fight and oh how the sparks fly between these two! I absolutely loved this book and LOVED seeing the Corps Security in this book. What a freaking awesome idea to merge book characters! Best of both worlds!!!

I absolutely loved JB Salsbury. This I have to say was probably a favorite of mine. This one is about a fighter who use to spend summers in Hope Town. He meant and had feelings for a girl that lived there but once he started going to college he never went back. He finally decides to go back to train for his big fight that he has coming up in three weeks. Come to find out the girl that he had feelings for lives across the street and is being paid to make his meals. Neither one of them are the same but is it enough to bring them together? This was a very interesting story . I absolutely loved Caleb and Honor together. The chemistry was off the charts. I absolutely hated Roy he is a shameful no good person.
Loved this book from beginning to end. Very well written.

I haven't read anything from J.B Salsbury before so this was a brilliant chance to be introduced to her work and I can honestly say that if this is her style of writing she has a new fan and I am going to be checking out her other books, especially the Fighting series.

I was completely gripped from start to finish with this book, having loved the Corps Security and Hope Town series it was lovely seeing familiar friendly faces again along with some hot sexy new ones!

Even though this was a Novella this book wasn't rushed it was perfect and you will be unable to resist falling in love with Caleb and Honor, there two were made for each other.

Only criticism is that I could have read a full length novel of Caleb goodness!

Fighting foe Honor by JB Salsbury is part of Harper Sloans Corps Security Kindle Worlds.
Caleb Dean is back in Hope Town. As teen he spend here his vacations. Now he´s a UFL MMA fighter with an upcoming biggest fight in his career.
Honor Cartwright is now all grown up too, but she´s still the towns weird woman. She works hard to make ends meet, but cruel people and circumstances make her life difficult.
She works for Caleb and he´s smitten with her. He´s so sweet and caring.
I really, really loved this novella, I read it in one sitting. I loved meeting old friends from Corps Security- Sway- yay !!
I give 5 stars and say thank you, JB Salsbury!

UFL fighters in Hope Town with the Corps Security crew...what?! What did we do to deserve this amazing mash up?! I have no clue but I loved every word.
We finally get to the chance to get inside Caleb's head. He's always intrigued me and I was super excited to learn we'd be getting his story. He was so much more than I ever thought he would be. Incredibly sweet, protective, charismatic; I completely fell for him, hard. The way he was with Honor had me swooning.
I absolutely loved Honor. People in Hope Town haven't always been so nice to her, resulting in trust issues and insecurities. When Caleb shows up in one of the homes she takes care of, she's weary but intrigued. The closer they get, the lower her wall gets, and the more she opens up. I enjoyed seeing her grow throughout the story. It was gradual and natural.
I couldn't get enough of these two together. I was just as swept up in them as they were. The excitement, the uncertainty, their connection, all of it gave me butterflies.
In addition to the romance, we get a bit of action and little suspense. It added a new dimension to the story that had me tearing through the pages. Seeing all of the Corps Security men (and a few of the ladies) in action again was amazing! Combine them with the guys from the UFL and wow! It was almost too much...almost.
Thank you JB and Harper for making this happen!

Wow! I loved this one! I almost passed it up not knowing it was part of the Fighting series. The Kindle World thing kinda throws me off sometimes.

The only thing I would change it’s length! With that said, it’s still a pretty lengthy novella. I couldn’t get enough of Caleb, what a good guy! I was equally taken with Honor, her character made me want to hug her, and be her friend! I really enjoyed Jonah, and Blake being in this one so much. Blake’s humor is always a plus for me. Super sweet HEA, as well:)

The first book in the new Corps Security in Hope Town Series features some of our favorite characters from Harper Sloan’s books, and some new characters that manage to take your heart and make it soar.
Caleb and Honor first met when they were kids. A few years later, their paths crossed again when Honor was being tormented by some neighborhood kids, and Caleb became her rescuer.

Fast forward, and Caleb returns to Hope Town in order to train for his big UFL fight in Atlanta.
But what he didn’t expect to find was the girl from his childhood, now a grown woman, cooking in his kitchen one day.

What then begins, is a romance that leaves you breathless and wanting more. We see some favorite characters from Hope Town return to these books, making us as the reader, fall in love again with every character we come across.
Caleb and Honor prove that there is nothing that can stand in their way when true love is at the end.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, suspense, and heartbreak.

This is Honor and Caleb’s story. Caleb has not been home in a long time but when he wants to train for his next fight in peace he goes home. But what he finds will change him forever. A woman is in his house. Yes, he knows her and he has never in all his years forgotten her. He is a fighter out in the spotlight. Honor has been picked on all her life and prefers the quiet and to be alone. He’s determined to have her with their chemistry almost explosive but she is determined to stay out of the light. What happens when she is thrust into the spotlight? What happens when her bullies come for her? Will he be able to protect her or will she run from him also?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Classic JB Salsbury with all my FAVORITE UFL men coupled with my FAVORITE Corps Security men, It just can't get any better than this!

When I found out there was going to be a Fighting book meets Hope Town/Corps security I think I screamed a little! Axel, Izzy, Greg, Beck, Nate, Cohen and even Dani meet Jonah, Blake, and Cameron.

Caleb is FINALLY getting his story told, in true fighting fashion. Reconnecting with someone from his past while training in Hope Town is the last thing he expected. I love Honor! She's so pure and strong. I love her for Caleb!

I am not ready for it to be over! I need more! Oh hell, looks like I'm going to be rereading ALL the books soon! 5 Fighting Stars for Caleb and Honor!

I like this concept of other series taking place in Hope Town. Fighting for Honor is Caleb's story as a fighter for the UFL has a match taking place in Atlanta he goes to his old vacation spot Hope Town to train. He met his childhood friend Honor, she used to look different and wasn't in the same crowd. I felt for her she was considered odd and bullied, Caleb stood by before as a kid but not anymore I like that he showed her kindness and respect even if she had her insecurities and was skittish.

I enjoyed their story very much. It was fast paced but it worked since their relationship was established. This was a rekindling of sorts set in two worlds, we also get cameos from friends from both series which was a plus. Well balanced with steam and humor, an easy read that will make fan of both worlds happy.
