Devante “Vawn” Murphy is a twenty-four year old handsome son of a multi-million dollar owner of a technology firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina. When Vawn's father dies, his company falls in his lap. Vawn is used to the drug game and has no idea how he is going to run a company that he knows nothing about. The company is approaching bankruptcy and needed help from an accounting firm to get the company assets back in order. Just when Vawn thought he’d never see Lana Woods again, she appears back in his life to help get things back in order.
It had been years. Lana was the girl of his dreams. She was beautiful, smart and rich, part of a world where he didn't belong. The more their worlds intertwined, the worse each of their lives become. Lana finds herself in love with a boy her family would never approve of; Vawn finds himself in love with a girl his lifestyle wouldn't approve of. When a special person in Vawn’s life becomes deathly ill, he takes matters into his own hands. He is then forced to make a decision that not only affects his life but also affects the lives on the ones that he loves the most.
This book has a storyline with plenty of twists and turns. It started out in the present and then took you back to the beginning. It's interesting to see how Vawn became who he is, and got where he is in life. His backstory is very needed in order to understand who he is as a whole. I am not really feeling him with Eden. She went about getting him to commit in the wrong way. I hope that she gets hers in part 2. Maybe him and Lana can stop playing games and get together.
This is my first read by this author, but won't be my last. I enjoyed this book and I loved how the author got right into the storyline and then came back with the history of these characters, so we knew what and how things were that led to the plot of the story. This book has plenty of drama and secrets and shady characters. Can't wait to see what happen in PT.2 after that ending....Job well done Krystal Armstead.
Okay so I read this in one sitting. It was nice!!!! I really love how you start at the end (or middle) and then take your readers back to see what lead up to what we already know. Talk about 6 degrees of separation! I feel horrible for Vawn and Lana. Can't wait to see what happens next...
Omg....where is part 2. I'm so ready to see what happens. This author has another hit under her belt. One click and get pulled in to Vawn and Lana story. Vawn has his hands full and Eden is making sure Lana will not be a part of it. Who will win Vawn's heart? Waiting on part 2.
I'm never disappointed with Krystal Armstead books she brings real emotions up out ya real talk. She always leaves you wanting more when u finish. Excited for part 2 bring that heat cause shit about to get real.
I love this authors work and she writes the juiciest drama filled stories that have you flipping the pages wanting more then boom...cliffhangers. Every story leaves you wondering so I'm hoping that she'll come back in the future and give us the ending of the characters and their drama
