Years ago, a man and a woman walked out of a Philadelphia bar around closing time.
They were never seen or heard from again.
Their bodies have never been found.
And every lead given to the police has led nowhere.
Out of leads and facing the coldest of trails, an ex-FBI agent decides to make a last ditch effort at finding the missing man and woman. Special Agent Frank Cornish turns to paranormal investigator, Eddie McCloskey.
Eddie has seen his share of tough cases. Many of them were considered unsolvable. But this one seems to be the most perplexing—and impossible—of them all because the missing have left absolutely no trace.
They just disappeared.
Facing impossible odds, Eddie hatches a scheme that’s so crazy, it might just work.
Soon he and his ghost-hunting partners, Stan and Moira, will find out the hard way there are people who want the missing to stay gone. If Eddie and his team want to get at the truth, they will have to go through shady family members, friends with ulterior motives, and the South Philly mob.
But Eddie’s just the guy for this job.

I write thrillers. I've studied the masters and hopefully I've learned a few things from them.

Ideas are never in short-supply. Time and talent (or lack thereof) are my only constraints.

My stories don't always fit neatly into categories, but that's what readers seem to like about them.

I've read all prior books in the series before reading this 8th book. Each book is unique, as in story premises are never repeated, and each book can be read on its own if one wanted to. That said, this book was far from the normal ghost hunt story we usually get with Eddie McCloskey and a little less intense than the books that preceded this one. Think more Gas Light rather than ghotsly hijinx.

Although this book is not my favorite in the series it did keep me interested at every page turn. I needed to see how Stan and Eddie pulled off this next ghost hunting caper; I wasn't disappointed. Evan Ronan knows how to spin a yarn that keeps you coming back for me.

This one was rather fun. A little Ocean's Eleven. And my enjoyment of it was only marred by one editing snafu. Ch. 19 Ben Sr. says he "never figured the mob for this" but 3 paragraphs later he states, "He'd long suspected that the mob was involved." Well which is it? Pick one. Now that I've made it through the whole series I can safely say I'm good. Don't need to read any future books in this series. I do have other books by this author and I'm not sure I'm ready to jump right into them after seeing the horrible editing involved in this series. I'll get to them, eventually.

Love this series!

I was hooked from the first book and am always checking to see when the next will be available. The depth of each character and the situations in each book are unique. I am anxiously awaiting the next book!

Excellent

These books are really good, once you start reading you can't put them down until you've finished reading them. I do hope there will be more books, I really like Eddie and his way of doing things.

When Eddie and the team are asked by a retired FBI agent to help on a 15 year old cold case, Eddie jumps at the chance and hatches an intricate con to catch the killer. Again another twist on the paranormal, that keeps these stories fresh.

complex story line

I loved the complexity of the story. Eddie and Stan had not only the people involved but me also believing their charades were real. It was a wonderful reveal. Nice plot twist.

I have read the other 7 books and they were really amazing. Each book is in a class of its own. I have given 5 stars to the other 7 books but 4 stars to this book as it fell short of my expectations.
