Carson Craig, the West Side Psychic, has just had a vision. This shouldn’t be a strange occurrence since he makes his living offering people glimpses of “the other side.” The problem is that Carson is a fraud. He’s never even seen a glimmer of what the future holds, but now this vision of a green-eyed man, his chest bleeding from a gunshot wound, brings the charlatan-seer to his knees.
Human Resources Manager, Truman Wesley, has just fired an employee. Although unpleasant, it’s a normal part of his job. What makes this incident unusual is that the firing occurs three weeks before Christmas and the enraged employee vows to get his revenge. Truman is badly shaken after the incident but tries to put it out of his mind so he can enjoy his favorite time of year with his family and friends.
All Carson wants to do when he sets out to find the handsome man in his vision is save the man’s life. It seems that fate and the hearts of these two men have other plans. As Christmas draws near, Carson finds himself falling in love and struggling to find a way to tell Truman the truth about what brought them together.
When Truman discovers the truth about his lover all on his own and walks away from their relationship, will Carson be able to save him before these frightening visions become a reality?
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
Don't miss Pandora’s seductive new novel coming soon to an e-reader near you.
Traditionally I haven't viewed myself as someone who is bothered by instalove, but this book put me to the test with that view, and I found myself bothered. Maybe if the two MCs hasn't gushed so massively and been so intensely sappy I would have been okay (in fact, maybe that was the problem rather than the instalove, I don't know), but these to fell over each other and immediately broke out songs and dances about each other. It felt incredibly uncomfortable. My hope upon entering the next book is that the short length of this one caused the author to do things that she won't continue in the next one. If this book is representative, I won't be continuing the series.
I liked this book and the story had a lot of potential but sometimes the plot had my head spinning, bcs it was moving too fast for my liking, I know that the story was thought to fit in a few pages(well anyway less than a normal book), but the author made the 2 MCs fall in love too fast, in like 1 hour, then they confessed their undying love like 3-4 days later, and when a week has passed they were almost ready to get married (litterally, one of them bought a ring...), and while I love this mates/soulmates trope in shifters/vampires(supernatural of any kind, creatures), here really made me laugh and left me a bit puzzled..... Too fast, too soon, too much....
But one thing I can say for sure, the book still left me with the curiosity to read the next one, and I started it as soon as this one ended, and I must say I'm liking it a lot....
I had really high hopes for VISION OF LOVE and things started out well but then devolved into the most cheesy courtship ever. And I say this as someone who loves sweet romances, insta-love, and gentle characters. But Carson and Truman's relationship just felt so over done in the sweetness and I just couldn't keep going.
This book started off great. There's just one thing I'm confused about. in the beginning Carson talks about not having the gift, then later in the book he talks about it being a burden knowing who was going to win or what the lottery numbers were, then again during his confession he admits he was a fraud. The inconsistency was a little odd to me.
Again, it started out great. Then after the two meet, and start dating and falling for each other instantly, it became unbearably "mushy". All the romance and "I love you's" and crying...so.much.crying.
When Carson finally has to spill his beans, Tru completely flips and becomes this overly hateful, spiteful man. It seemed so out of character for someone who claims to be so in love.
Then before the prediction starts to happen, seems Cassie has finally been able to talk some sense into her beat friend. But it's too late and Carson jumps in, without a thought about himself, to save the man he loves. Regardless of how he was treated.
The ending and the beginning are really this stories saving grace. I may have sounded like a cynic up there talking about all the mush, but it was pretty mushy. . The beginning was intriguing and captivated you enough to keep going and it was a pretty picturesque ending.
Rating - 2.5 stars I genuinely wish I could rate this more but it all felt so rushed? And not the good kind of rushed as well. I'm hoping the rest of the books will be better cause I so badly want to love this universe. The romance didn't feel authentic enough. Maybe someday I'll come back to this after reading the other books. For now, it wasn't great for me

...It all started with a vision of love. When Pandora Pine asked me to read her latest book, I was all for it. After all, I am well aware of her On the Radio Series, her Sand Dollar Shoal Series, and her Reading, Writing, and Romance Series and who does not like the Student Bodies Series? This author may play in the MM genre, but she does not limit herself to one type. Romance may be the end game, but Pandora will write about mystery, family, and sheer comedy. And that is what the readers are going to get with this book, a prequel of sorts for the author's newest series, Cold Case Psychic.
"The future is fluid."
As a Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys fan, who will jump on the paranormal/fantasy bandwagon whenever offered, this was the perfect feast. All Carson wanted was to be like his mother. He didn't have her gifts, but he could pretend. When HR Manager Truman finds himself in a predictament, he never thought the gorgeous man who flirted with him would cause changes in his life not even he could understand. Take one not-so psychic who wanted to believe and give him a vision. Then drop a gorgeous man into that vision who needed saving and you know it will be good.
With Carson hiding secrets, and Truman scared for his life, what would it take to keep these men from running? From Visions of love and each other.
As a side note, Dead Speak will be out in January and though Vision is a prequel, it sets the world up and introduces the psychic aspect to this newest series that will focus on two other main characters. Personally, I cannot wait!!
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
The Cold Case Detective Series is a new one for Pandora Pine and after reading Visions of Love, I predict it to be scooped up by readers everywhere! I absolutely loved this uniquely written story of Carson, scam psychic supreme, who suddenly discovers he isn't such a scam when he experiences a vivid vision of a man getting murdered. Little clues in the vision lead him to the man, Truman, who he now becomes obsessed with trying to save him. Instant attraction, intense sexual chemistry, and a few dates later find love sneaking up to surround them. As they spend more time together, though, Carson still has to find a way to save his love from being killed! Sound intriguing? Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of intrigue, mystery, psychic visions, lust, love and a touch of angst all lead up to an explosion of visions coming true, sort of 💫 1-click this exciting first story in Pandora Pines's new series today!
This is the story of Carson and how he meets his soulmate, Truman. A nice story of a fairytale romance with them deciding in less than 2 weeks that they are for each other , then of course something is thrown into the mix to upset the balance. Worth reading, another good book in the series.
I wanted to read this one when I discovered The Cold Case Psychic series. This is a great lead in. Carson saw a vision of a man's death and knew he had to save him. He found Truman but could not bring himself to tell him why he found him. To find out if true love win, you will need to read this one.
Basically not bad writing, but it bothered me that we knew from the beginning what was going to happen at the Christmas party, but had to wait almost the whole book to get there. I also didn't like that we got an overly sappy insta love but then with the first drama, Truman throws it all out right away.
After starting the main books with Ronan and ten and already being privy to the history of Carson and Truman this bookseller for .e probably because of the reason stated. A okay read.
This is really poorly written but it’s the first book in a series so I’m hoping things get better. I’m skeptical though because I started reading the first book of a later series (stopping when I realized it was a spin-off from this one) and it was better but not by a lot. Book beginnings aren’t always as good as the rest of a book though.
The author uses so many trite expressions. “Truman’s smile was brighter than the sun.” “He couldn’t believe how his life had just turned on a dime.” “Which was another can of worms.” All within the same few pages.
Aside from fated mates books, this was the most instant of instaloves that I’ve ever read. Absolutely ridiculous. Totally unbelievable. The author didn’t suspend my disbelief at all. Another couple’s relationship was even faster.
There were also other dumb things like Truman was in line at a cafe and Carson said it looked like the man was staying for lunch rather than taking it to go. How would he know that before Truman was at the counter? Then Carson had a vision where there were twins and one had his eyes and the other had Truman’s. How? Not via the surrogate he assumed had them.
The story was very predictable and unoriginal. That said, I did finish it and think I’ll read the next one.
YES, it was that fluffy! I got nauseous from all of the fluff! This was so sweet that my teeth hurt! I didn't think I would EVER say this, but... UGH, too much! The writing was great and I loved the characters, but REALLY? NO two people are that perfect for each other... *headdesk* ;p
I was actually glad to have the "confrontation" finally happen just so that we could get a break from the "mushy" stuff... *I can't believe I just wrote that*
This was NOT at all what I was expecting and now I am even more curious to see where the author is going to go with Dead Speak... if it is just more fluff?
Nah, I have faith that things will be quite different next time! *grin*
The book was a nice read. Nothing complicated, a little bit sweet. It gave insight about the characters that will be mentioned in next coming book. Unfortunately I read this one after 2 books about Tennyson the psychic but I enjoyed delving into Truman and Carson love story and their personalities.
Vision Of Love (Cold Case Psychic Book 0) by Pandora Pine
🌟🌟🌟🌟 4 Stars (because I already loved the characters from reading Cold Case Psychic) 🔥🔥🔥Heat level: 3
Now I read Cold Case Psychic book first and while that book has all the details about Carson and Truman and how they got together I still wanted to know more about their story so I asked Pandora about Carson and Truman and she told me about this book. From what I can tell online this book was published in November 2017 before the Cold Case Psychic series started in January 2018. From other reviews I've read it seems many people have done the same as me and read this book after having read Cold Case Psychic. Before I go any further I'd love to hear peoples thoughts from those who read this book first then the Cold Case Psychic. I want to know how you found it.
I must say because I already had a soft spot for Carson and Truman I think that made me love this book more. These characters were very well introduced in the Cold Case Psychic series and I felt like I already knew about them and their lives so reading this book was like going back to the beginning and seeing how they met and fell in love.
Having previous knowledge of how solid they are as a couple 'now' (in Cold Case Psychic) I was about to find this love story more believable but looking at it objectively they met and say 'I love you' after two dates and even talked about babies and marriage on date two. I might be jaded but I think in the 'real' world that might seem a bit crazy but thankfully this isn't the real world and I was able to get swept up in their worldwide/speed of lightning love story.
Pandora has a knack for drawing you in and creating tense 'scenes' that keep you on the edge of your seat or at least make you think "OMG what's going to happen". Even though I knew the eventual outcome of this book I still had these moments while reading. I loved the truthful banter between Carson and Truman and how life (and thoughts) can change in the blink of a eye. I think this was a good story in that the characters took their close call with death and accelerated their life plan really quickly. From meeting to dating to life saving to married with kids on the way in about 6 months!
I really enjoyed 'seeing' Truman and Carson's relationship progress and solidify and can't help but enjoy how sweet together! I also liked reading how Carson and Cole received their gifts and how their mother guided them to their gifts and subsequent soulmates. I still would have liked to know more about how both Carson and Cole approached their gifts are this near death experience and still feel like I'm missing a little bit of that knowledge between this book and when they meet Tennyson in Cold Case Psychic who became their guide.
Anyway I love a good mystery and while this filled in the blanks so to speak, I prefer and I look forward to reading more in the Cold Case Psychic series with Carson and Truman as a family.
Extra Random Thought: A few things I seem to have missed though is the age of Carson and his brother Cole (and Cassie too). From the story it seems Carson in almost 10 years older than Cole and finishing collage so Cole should be around 22 therefore Carson would be 31-32 (and Truman being 30). With Cassie I have no clue just that she's been divorced and works in HR so in theory should have gone to collage so if she got married and divorced young that could put her around Cole's age or if she was older closer to Truman's age. It really doesn't matter I just have tendency to remember details and descriptions more than names (which is why I started this blog to help me remember character names) and these random things stick with me.
This is sort of a side beginning to the Cold Case Psychic series, telling the story of Carson and Truman that is mentioned in book one. It sets up the shop they work at and the reason that Tennyson comes along. But this book is really all about the relationship that Carson and Truman have.
Carson's mom was a true psychic but Carson himself is not, though he is passing himself off as one to keep his deceased mother's shop alive. Carson is shocked when he actually has a vision, one of a man dying. He sets out to save the man in full awareness that he cannot save him simply by telling him of the vision and must instead get involved in the man's life. When Carson meets Truman everything gets complicated by the pair's immediate attraction.
Truman lives a slightly unhappy life. He has great best friend that he gets to work with, a lovely home, and sweet dog. But he doesn't love his job, doesn't really see it as anything more than a way to pay the bills, and he wishes he had someone to share his life with. A meet cute over macaroni seems to show that Carson is that person, but when the lies come out Truman has to decide what he believes.
I found this intriguing in that it reminded me of the myths of Cassandra. Cursed to tell the future true but have no one believe her. Seeing a vision of another's death in no way guarantees it can be stopped. Carson struggled with the deep intense knowledge that what he had seen was true, while at the same time knowing there was no way to make Truman believe that. Seeing how it all played out from that point made for a good story. It was nice to read about what happened before Tennyson came along and can be a good test for enjoyment of the series.

Heather's Notes I had a little bit of trouble with this book in the beginning. I don't know if it was me or the book, but in the end I liked it. Truman was a little TSTL there at the end, however they managed to get to the HEA. I liked it. It looks like the next book is a different couple, so I will probably try it.
Update 9/3/23, I had to read the next book because I'd already bought it.
It was so much better; that I'm almost more pissed I paid nearly $6 for the below. Now I know the author is capable of more. It makes me feel almost duped.
My advice save your money and start with book #1 in the series.
Okay. Rarely do I have to make an effort to be constructive. I'm not sure I'll manage it below. I will admit this read may have suffered from following a well written, well developed, and multi-layered read.
This was brain candy at every level; formulaic, extreme Insta-love (which I'm not necessarily opposed to like some readers), predictable, contrived over blown relationship crisis after claiming undying love within days, glossed over resolution with everything suddenly worked out and perfect for all. If I'd realized there were 23 books in 5 years or so, for just this series; not counting any other books written-I might have expected this, but I didn't. It wasn't bad per se, but I almost got an headache from rolling my eyes at the flowery declarations and constant "misty eyes". I'm not sure even considering it just a beach read would have helped.
I will say I don't remember being thrown out due to poor proofing.
I will read the next one only because I already bought it. Who knows maybe I will find it much better especially since I won't have high expectations.
This is my second book by this author. The first one I read was completely different, so this one was unexpected. Carson is a psychic, although so far he’s been mostly a fraud. One day he has a vision of a man’s murder, and he realizes he inherited his psychic gift from his mother. So Carson and his brother Cole talk about the vision, and Carson sets out to find the man in his vision. Truman and Carson meet and it’s love at first sight. Carson mentions he thinks Truman is his soulmate. As they go on dates and fall in love, Carson has to do everything in his power to make sure his gruesome vision doesn’t come true. He doesn’t tell Truman what is going on at first, so there’s some conflict with that. Im not sure why Carson didn’t tell Truman the truth from the start. The rest of the series sounds fun, although it seems other characters take over, and the other books seem longer. I think there’s more than 30. I’ll try the next book in the series, hopefully it’ll be less insta-love and more mystery. The psychic aspect looks promising and could be developed more
Somehow I managed to miss this novel as I dove into the series of Cold Case Psychic with book 1. Having read all of the series so far upto 10 this was a great book to fill out the background to Cole, Carson, Cassie and Truman's storylines. It felt like a flashback to me having known most of the story as it had been retold through the series but it was also a great deal of the plot and the emotional elements that a simple retelling fill in lacked. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and the lovely details and plot lines hinted at through it. I'm not a spoilers type of reviewer so I'm not going to give out spoilers here except to say Pandora charms us with a beautifully crafted, touching and exciting introduction to the Cold Case Psychic series. Highly recommended with a fully deserved 5 Stars.
I may have to have my blood sugar checked because the author made this so sugary and sticky sweet, I'm sure I'm going to have full-on diabetes. Honestly, it was so OTT insta love, swooning, kissy-faced that I nearly DNFed it. But my friends loved it and said it gets better so I plowed on. And it turned out okay, but the "feel" of the story is the same as the preteen novels I used to read in my preteen days. Just too "teen girl swoons over the guy who seems to like her" sort of a story. In other words, I highly doubt any adult male would think and act the way the characters do here.
I guess I'm getting jaded in my old age. The latter half was entertaining because we finally got to the heart of the issue of Carson's "visions" of Truman being attacked. And there was action and forgiveness and all went back to being sweet again.
My thoughts: I give it 3 stars. I have already read the rest of the series and I never knew what the story was when Truman and Carson were mentioned. The glimpses I would get let me now that Carson had saved Truman's life but there was no other information about their love story. Only what was occurring at the time of the story I was reading at the time. Truman and Carson along with Cassie and Cole are a large part of the expanding series about the West Side Psychics. I enjoyed this story. It was light with a strong love connection instantly. It was not like most 'insta-love' stories. This one seemed real. I enjoyed it and if Ms. Pine comes out with another book in this series, I will definitely be reading it.
This is more of a 3.5 for me, it was good, just what I want from a book, a bit of paranormal, a m/m romance, a bit of excitement.
It is well written and executed. So I may be being a little unfair but there was nothing that made it stand out from the other authors in this genre.
If you are looking for a good m/m paranormal story for a couple of hours this is the book for you, if you haven't read any books into this genre before, it is a good example, but if you are looking for something to knock your socks off in inventiveness in worldbuilding or in characterisation, compared to other offerings in this genre, then this isn't it.
1.5 stars -1/2 star: Cheesy dialogue. Everywhere. Between the MCs and the supporting characters. Also with random NPCS. Who would say any of this stuff? No one. - 1/2 star: Slow progression. Imo it was really predictable what was going to happen, plus I've read other books in the series that keep reiterating how Carson took a bullet for Truman. -1/2 star: Fast moving relationships. Seriously, getting an engagement ring after meeting someone for a few weeks? And to make matters even worse, Cole & Cassie making out/getting into a relationship/getting married after barely even interacting what.
