Isaiah Moss has been running from his family for a long time. They keep dragging him back home to beat the gay out of him. He finds himself living on Bartholomew Burns’ farmstead in return for bed and board and is also looking after the old man who is lying on his deathbed. Isaiah writes to Joshua Burns to let him know his father is dying to get him to return from college. What follows is a wonderful story of two men who find happiness with each other against all the odds. This is a really beautiful and well written story. It is sensitively written and very emotive dealing with betrayal and loss as well as love and happiness. This is definitely a book to be one-clicked.
I think the most interesting thing about Joshua and Isaiah's story is that it feels like it was set in a previous time. Even though it's not. You can imagine it being the 50's or 60's. And Phillip, lets just say that I hope Sam Elswit doesn't write a book for him. I don't think he will ever be redeemed enough regardless of what Isaiah and Joshua did to him, what he did was beyond tenfold. i was given the privilege and opportunity to receive an advanced reader copy and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. While this wasn't one of my favorites by this other I still enjoyed it and look forward to his next book.
Always Mine is one of those books that you just have a hard time putting down. Isaiah and Joshua run thru so much in such a short time but threw it all they just get stronger with each obstacle that seems to keep popping up. A romance that blossoms from the very first and leaves you satisfied when you hit the very last page. A total two thumbs up for a good romance!
A lovely, heart-warming story. I have always loved stories when one of the characters struggles to understand his/her sexuality, but there is so much more than that here. All the characters are interesting, and I loved Isaiah and Joshua since the beginning.
Sam Elswitt delivers a wonderful story that will satisfy you from the very beginning to the end.
It wasn't interesting enough for me to get past the beginning. What little I did read had numerous errors: plurals with apostrophes, punctuation outside quote marks, numeral instead of number spelled out, capitalization issues, verb tense, missing word, and spelling errors.
So many editing errors took away from a nice story. The story could have been developed more as well. Isaiah and Joshua could have entranced me. Unfortunately, lack of oomph and too much ho-him sex turned me away from reading the "bonus" books attached to this work. Author - please take this book and work it over. It really has potential.
