Junkyard Boys #3

Salvaging Max

Rate this book
Maxwell O’Neill Born into a life of wealth and privilege, I ran from it and found the life I wanted at a junkyard. I betrayed my brothers too many times, forcing them to turn me away from the only home I’ve ever known. After months of wandering around searching for answers, I’m going back to where it all started, to face my past once and for all and make it my bitch. I’ll find my way back to becoming the man Buck always wanted me to be and the loyal friend my junkyard brothers all deserved. Haven Sloan The rich are all the same; they take more than they give, stepping over the ruined souls in their carnage without as much as a ‘Fuck off’ in return. Their goal is self-serving, to use me for my nursing skills while banking on my discretion to hide their secrets and lies from the public. My goal? Use their own selfishness against them, take their money, and move on to the next assignment. It’s a win-win all around, until the day the prodigal son returns and flips my structured life upside down. Memories from the past will bring these two broken souls together. Evil from the present will try and destroy any chance they have for a future. Bad shit happens to good people. Will the junkyard boys save them in time to stop it from happening to them? Or will the truth shatter their chances to salvage a normal life.

If you're a fan of this series you will have been waiting for Max's story from the beginning, it doesn't disappoint! I knew his story would be heartbreaking, but I still didn't expect it to be as bad as it was. I'm pleased he had Haven to help put himself back together and also that he helped her to heal too. I can't wait for Mem's story, another fab read.

Another fabulous read in the series. Max broke my heart by trying to come to grips with his past. When he meets Haven, who is just as damaged as he is, their relationship works because they understand each other. But will his psychotic mother ruin what they have? Will he ever get the answers he deserves? Or will losing the only father he had ever known, Buck, be the final blow to coming out of the darkness? An excellent continuation of this fabulous series. I cannot wait until the next book. The only problem I have is deciding which boy is my favorite.

Fantastic!

I have been waiting for Max's story for a while and boy, am I glad it's finally here! I was very satisfied with the way the story developed. Max had been running from his past until it finally caught up to him and Haven, having suffering loss, pain and despair understands Max better than anyone else could. I was desperate to discovered where Max's demons came from and eager to see how he would overcome them. I wasn't disappointed! This series keeps getting better and better. This book was everything I hoped for and more. The Junkyard Boys are back in town and you won't want to miss it. Great read, highly recommended! PS: #TeamFox ;)

I absolutely love The Junkyard Boys and I think Max might just be my favorite!! This is a beautiful story of love and hope - hope that the past won't determine the future. Max is an empty and scarred soul. His childhood is one made up of nightmares and abuse. The only good he knows is Buck, his brothers and the junkyard. Haven was a happy child until fate stepped in and all she knew was ripped away. Taken in by a cousin, she and her brother try to survive the horrors of their new life. But one fateful night changes her life forever. Can two scarred souls heal each other? Can they both open their hearts to love and find a happily, ever after? Loved Max's story!!❤️❤️

Wow! An emotional and heartbreaking story. Max and Haven suffered so much in the past and they instantly have a connection. Max and Haven are great together. I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read the next book in the series. I received an advance readers copy of this book.

Love of brotgers

I did not think Sebastian's book could be topped but she sure did with Max and Havens story.
To learn about his past and the things his mother is capable of was heartbreaking but the love of his brothers and his Haven pull him through

I didn't like Max from the previous books so I knew I wouldn't like his story. I felt horrible for what he went threw as a child. That's why I'm so confused as to why he was able to overcome the shadow just from sleeping with Haven. Why didn't they try to rescue that little boy? Max was with an ow after joining Haven at a diner. Haven witnessed this. I don't think I've ever wanted a character to be killed off as much as Marci.

Okay let's start at that cover. If you stalk I mean follow SH Richardson or you have the other books then you know they are all sexy but unique to them. Now you don't have to read The Junkyard Boys or The Scrapyard Man to get what is going on in Salvaging Max. But but and this is a huge BUT, read them. They are amazing books with strong men and even stronger women.

With Buck dieing it leaves Max going off the deep end. He needs answers to his past. When he meets Haven she becomes his light in a world of darkness and his own demon past. When these two tortures souls meet can they come out of the dark place into the light together?
Max my love you grew on me. You redeemed yourself. I have forgiven you for turning your back on you family. My emotions were all over the place with this book. I wanted to continue to dislike Max because i read the first two be for this book so it was all fresh emotions in my mind. I was routing for him. I wanted him to find his way, no i needed him to find himself. I loved how they all had such a connection because of Buck. He took these wayward boys in and gave them the family they all needed. Haven what a woman. She is a tortured soul and does what she does purely out of selfishness. I went through a lot of eanting to throw my kindle to wanting to give them both a hug to wanting to drag his butt back to the Junkyard. I cried, i laughed, i loved, and I got my heart ripped out by this amazing author.
I can not wait for the next book.

This was a lot darker than I was expecting, which didn't make it bad - it was just, unexpected. I have read the other books in the Junkyard series and loved them and Richardson did a great job in those books making you wonder about Max. His story is explained beautifully, tragically, and gut wrenchingly in Salvaging Max. The novel does a nice job telling the story about two lost souls finding each other. There were parts that definitely made me uncomfortable, but that's the sign of a good book.
Read the trigger warnings beforehand.

I am a huge fan of this series, but Max was too dark for me. If you have a hard time with specific triggers please take heed of the trigger warnings. You might wonder why I still gave this book a 4 Star rating? That is because S.H. Richardson's story was still written very well and pulled me into the lives of Max & Haven. While certain parts were very disturbing I couldn't wait to move past those and get back to the love of these two characters. I was left wanting more. I can't wait to read Memory's story and hopefully get my hands on those biker boys.

Max

Wow! I am not sure what I was expecting with Max's story but it was not this! This was so much better! My heart broke learning his and Havens stories. Ms. Richardson has outdone herself in this series with Max. I loved learning more about Buck. These boys have claimed a spot in my heart and will be there forever. Max has had one helluva life and deserves happiness. A must read!

An amazing addition to the Junkyard Boys series.
Loved Max and Havens story.
I knew it was going to be a little dark but not too dark. It had just the right amounts of mystery, angst, drama and sexy love scenes to make it a 5 star ⭐️ read!
Sharon you really outdid yourself this time, can't wait to read Memories story!

This series just keeps getting better!
SH surprised me with how dark this one is compared to the previous and I do have to say, it’s my top favorite so far.

Haven is a complete sweetheart who has committed her life to being a nurse. But don’t let her sweetness fool you, because she does have a helluva fire and isn’t afraid to use it.

I have been curious about Max since I met him in Junkyard Boys and now that I met him? This man is brave, stronger than he realizes and protective.

My heart broke multiple times for these two - both of them surviving pasts that would make nightmares seem like a sweet reprieve. But as the story progressed, Max and Haven’s growth and growing love for each other mended my broken heart back together.

This addition is a raw, gritty, fast paced, and emotional rollercoaster with just the right amount of steam and action - and I loved every single word. Once I started it, I was glued to my reading spot until the well deserved HEA. I love how this talented author continues to build this world, full of characters I love, so flawlessly. I can’t get over how good this series truly is and it just keeps better. I am really excited to dive into Mem’s book.

Just Wow!

Max and Haven were wow! Max had a story and past that blew my mind and made me all kinds of angry, sad and want to love him even more. I wanted to kick his entire past into hells gates myself. His family made me so emotionally unsettled. I’d had a hard time reading about their unbelievable deeds. Max had every reason for being the way he was.
Haven was the same. That poor girl had gone through a horrible life. These two were the cure for each other’s demons, but were the hope and healing for each other’s futures. Their love was going to be strong and unbreakable.
The bond of all the brothers was palatable.
You just cannot miss this read about the brother Max in the Junkyard series.

Max and Haven

What a novel! WOW, just WOW!!!!!! This story is apart of The Junkyard Boys series but can be read as a standalone and what a standalone it is! Readers have met Max in previous books 📚 about The Junkyard Boys but this is strictly Maxwell and Haven (Heaven) 's story to be told. So much intrigue and mystery that this novel will definitely keep and hold the reader's attention and interest. Great novel and great addition to the series!

Wow

This story explained so much about rich people who were so entitled that they used abuse on even their own children or nieces and nephews totally breaking them . But as adults those they abused finally got some retribution and started on working to but their demons at rest! You will understand as you turn each page the damage done and towards the end you are left with another mystery to solve in the next story!

Great book

This was one roller coaster ride of emotions. Sex trafficking, pedophiles, bikers, abused children grown into adults and all the problems they come with, plenty of twists and turns, action, intrigue and romance. This book has it all, interesting characters and a fantastic storyline, well worth your time to read.

Broken

What was broken and shattered couldn't be mended until he knew. He never believed that he was worth love. He didn't have the strength to move on after the death of his rock, the solid man who accepted and lived him even after knowing the truth of his trauma. He fixed himself for Heaven.
