Ammachi can't find her glasses one morning and everything goes topsy-turvy!
Page after page spills with drama, humour, detail and local flavour as Priya Kurian spins a hilarious tale about a crazy day with unforgettable Ammachi - "the archetypal grandmother from memories of my own childhood in Kerala" as Priya says. The celebrated illustrator is at her best in this her first wordless picture book.
Ammachi glasses is a wordless picture book ... By Priya . It's my first ever book which took me less than 2 minutes to complete 🤭. This book literally good for kids to make them understand about little- little emotions. Must say ....Priya illustration is so beautiful like adding that minute detailings in the book....make it more attractive and eye catchy. Overall it's a good picture book. I am amazed like i am 25 year old still love to read more such books than adult reads 🤭. My inner soul is still a little kid .
This is one of the two books recommended by my best friend’s 1.5 years old kid. :)
Nice example of a picture speaks a thousand words – beautifully illustrated without any dialogues. I like the detailing with respect to Kerala. I think the Ammachi is reading a book by “Franz Kaka”?! – the title of the book wasn’t clear in the pdf version I read.
A thoroughly entertaining wordless book from the pen of Priya Kuriyan. I am surely not the intended target audience but that didn't stop me from enjoying the book. It's perfect for kids and adults of all ages.
Allowing readers an experience of the proverbial fly on the wall, this book is riotous in its silence and thoroughly enjoyable in its intricate details... Right down to the coconut scraper and the Last Supper!
A nice and light visual experience. It's funny and quirky but my kid prefers books with words on it coz he really insists on me reading out loud to him and I couldn't do that for this wordless book. It's really good for kids whose imagination can write the whole story for themselves.
An absolute favourite with T. A wordless picture book which children can pore over for long and come back to day after day after day. New questions come up for T everytime she reads it.
(6 year old's review) I read it often, always makes me laugh out loud. I love the crow in it. Been reading since I was 2 - the book has no words, just drawings.
