I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I have to say, that I was surprised by all the great reviews, I just do not understand and do not get it. I wont give it a 2 star because I don't agree with the love story, but it in my opinion and since I was asked for it, I will give it. I don't understand how you could condone someone repeatedly demeaning woman by calling them sluts. It's not cute..Aaand he had a daughter, how would he feel if someone called her that? He had no respect, no respect for woman. Then there is Gemma, she had no self respect constantly throwing herself at this man, luckily she finally got a little back bone when she realized that he was going to sleep with Ashley to prove his point, I would have stopped reading at that point, I honestly had to make myself continue to read it, and it was hard for me, because as I mentioned I honestly detest, detest when they treat woman that way, and I am a shamed that we as woman, not only accept this, but think that this is a love story.

Gemma wants her best friend's dad. We're introduced to Mr. Porter while he's boinking the newly hired chef. And Gemma watches them. She even wants to be next while this other woman's fluids are still all over him.
Ewww.
The book skips ahead some years and he's now boinking one of his employees.
Mr. Porter seems to have a thing for those he has authority over.
As for Gemma, we get a disappointing oral sex scene between her and a fellow college alum.
I mean, this book is so fucking gross with the H and h doing everyone but each other the whole first third.
And the idiotic, childish games Gemma plays with him. Ugh. Gag. She giggles over it, but...no. It's. Not. Cute. It's not entertaining.
I wish I hadn't read this.

I thought this was a good book. I liked the story line and the characters. I really appreciated the fact that his daughter didn't completely overreact. The only criticism I have is that there were several typos and misplaced words. Several places where quotation marks where left out at the end. Just needs a little reviewing! Other that that it was a book I would definitely recommend.

First off I don't usually like to give reviews that are so low but, there was just several things wrong. First, storyline no orginality at all, it has been written before there could have been somewhat of a different spin on it somehow. Then I noticed how many typos and misplaced words there were, for an author that has put out so many previous works I would expect better.

Oh my goodness! I downloaded this arc from Hidden Gems earlier today. I always read the first couple of pages to determine how the book feels...I could not put this book down. I read the entire book as soon as I downloaded it--and LOVED it!!❤️ This book is a keeper...the storyline is awesome; the characters are fully developed; and the emotional roller coaster is a thing of beauty! This is a well written romance novel; with a touch taboo, a certain amount of angst, and just a little twist of jealous--and some mega hot 🔥 sex that will steal your breath away! You need to 1-Click this bad boy today! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and loved it!)

This is a fast paced, sexy, steamy quick read by Amy Brent. Gemma falls for her best friend Lila's dad, Whitt. She fell in love with him when she was 18. He has some pretty loose morals of an alley cat but when she was 18 he turned her down when she offered herself to him. He did do the right thing then.
Fast forward a few years later, Gemma ends up working temporarily for Whitt and she makes sure she shows her best assets off. Soon they are having a secret affair so that Whitt’s daughter and other do not find out. Gemma is deeply in love with him while Whitt was using her for sex until a huge twist comes into play… Will they continue on or will this secret affair blow up in their face??
I enjoyed this story immensely but found Whitt to be a pig at times while Gemma should have given up and moved on to a man that respected her more. Other than that, very steamy and sexy scenes .

I like Amy’s books but this book was terrible.
The H was an immature pig who doesn’t like to use condoms and hires people at his home and his office for the sole purpose of banging them.
When I say he doesn’t like to use condoms, it’s with more than the h.
I was disappointed in this book in every way.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This was another awesome book by Amy Brent. I love the way this story was written and couldn't put it down after I started it. Definitely a must read.

This is the first book that I've read by Amy Brent. I really had a hard time reading this. I thought the main female lead Gemma was immature and never really grew up. She pursued the male lead Whitt who was her best friend's dad. There wasn't any real romance in this book, just sex. This story just didn't do it for me. I received an advance copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

My Best Friend's Dad by Amy Brent tells the story of Gemma and Whitt. Gemma has always thought that Whitt was a handsome man, but an incident after her high school graduation causes Gemma to decide that she wants Whitt to take her virginity. On the same night, Whitt sees Gemma as more than his daughter's friend and instead sees her as someone he'd like to be intimate with. However, Whitt refuses to do anything with Gemma as he feels that it is wrong, given the age difference between them. Gemma goes off to college and returns four years later and ends up working for Whitt. Gemma and Whitt are still very attracted to each other, but Whitt continues to believe that the age difference between them and the fact that she is the same age as his daughter and is her best friend are sufficient reasons to deny their attraction to each other and keep their relationship as a professional one. Whitt tries very hard to resist Gemma, however, she is persistent and pursues him until he gives into his desire for her.
This is the first time I've ever read anything by Amy Brent and I definitely enjoyed reading My Best Friend's Dad. The story flows nicely and nothing seems too rushed. I really enjoyed Gemma right from the beginning of the book. She is funny, says what she means and goes after what she wants. What a great h. I also enjoyed Whitt, but not as much as Gemma. At times Whitt came across to me as overly cautious and too concerned with what other people may think. Quite wimpy H to tell the truth. Not as alpha as I would have liked him to be. There is a lot of chemistry between Gemma and Whitt which made for some really hot sex scenes. In fact, there are so many sex scenes in this book that it can sometimes be difficult to see the romance and not just the sex between these characters. As well, there are some scenes that may turn some readers off because of some of the names and language that Whitt uses in relation to Gemma, as well as his immediate response to finding out about the pregnancy (which in reality, is not that different from a lot of people's reaction to an unplanned pregnancy). I found that these things were not a huge issue for me and so did not make it difficult to enjoy the story.
My Best Friend's Dad is a book that I would recommend to others as a great read. I know that as a result of this book, I will be reading more books by Amy Brent and I hope that other readers will too.

Gemma and Whitt and Lila; a trio of two best friends and the father who becomes the focus of a young girl's life plan. Gemma's friendship with Lila is genuine, but her focus is to become a bigger part of Lila's father's life. She no longer wants to be just Lila's friend but instead wishes to be attached, by some intimate descriptive, to Whitt. A plan born as a child, keeps her focused on a goal through her education and lands her as a young adult in Whitt's world.
With everything Gemma does seeming so calculating, and Whitt having a reputation for being a savvy business man there is an element of romance missing. The narrative is sexy and has that whiff of the forbidden, but the intimacy between characters is physical minus romance. Even in the depths of an erotic or sexual scene, one longs for some sense of romance.
The forbidden is not just saved for Whitt and Gemma. Lila has her own forbidden story to tell and the little peek we are offered is a nibble to keep readers hoping that Ms. Brent comes up with a continuing story. Whether erotica or sweet romantic novel, every woman deserves some romance. Whitt has money and power but is so powerless with Gemma that he forgets the romance and the focus stays on the physical. Another area that was skimmed over was Gemma getting her college degree specifically in his field so that she can some day become integrated into that part of his life. Going backwards and learning about what Gemma does to achieve her dream of connecting to Whitt without Lila as their glue is as important as her saving herself, in all ways, for her best friend's dad.
Other than the evasive nature of Lila and her own older man, which seems to be ready for prime time according to those last pieces in the bonus chapter, and the secretive actions of both Whitt and Gemma, readers will be kept engaged and entertained. Read it for the sizzle.
This book is still a 4 star read. It has interesting characters that pull in the reader. It is some missing details that make the difference between 4 and 5 stars.

Super-hyper-mega recommendable.

After waiting a few years Gemma will begin her movements, and Whitt Porter will sees her as a temptation, refusing to fall before her, not only for the age, but because all the excuses and reasons he gives her daughter about relationships would make him look like a hypocrite.

When Gemma was 18 she stumbled upon her friend's father getting it on. This turned her on, so to not get caught she hid in his closet, she was later found and asked to keep a secret which she bargained for a kiss.
The kiss only confirmed her thoughts - she wanted Whitt, however Whitt knows it's wrong for so many reasons, even though he wants it just as much.
Fast forward a couple of years and she ends up as his employee, things gets hot and steamy too fast with Gemma for Whitt's liking. Whitt is afraid what his daughter would think off him and Gemma if they get caught, therefore he is not to thrilled with the situation - but continues anyways, because who can stop something they have already started? No one.
Before long morning sickness and a babybump kicks in, right in the middle of all the chaos. Not only is Gemma having secrets but so has Lila and even Lila's dad (Whitt).
I absolutely loved this book. I have read a couple of books by Amy Brent before, and every time she ends up writing some of the best book, with hot, steamy and funny scenes. When I received this ARC, I couldn't wait to read it, but at the same time I wanted to read it when I had a clear mind and Oh. Em. Gee best thing ever.

This book was hot. When Gemma was 18 she stumbled upon her best friend's dad in an intimate moment with their cook. Unable to stop watching she hid in his closet when they made their way to his bedroom. She knew after watching him with her that he was the man she wanted to lose her virginity with. Catching Gemma Whitt is embarrassed by what she mostly likely witnessed and asks her not to mention what she saw to his daughter. She agrees to keep his secret in exchange for a kiss. One amazing kiss confirms what Gemma already knew she wants Whitt. However Whitt is having nothing to do with it and sends her on her way telling her that she's way too young for him. She tells him that it isn't over and it wasn't. A few years go by and Gemma gets her chance at Whitt again and she wasn't about to let it get snapped away. After flirting with him constantly at work Whitt gives in and their passion takes over until he starts having regrets. Whitt is concerned over what his daughter will think of them and what others might say and pushes Gemma away. Just one problem with that he wasn't always good when it came to protecting Gemma and now their secret is about to come out.
I loved this book. Once I started I couldn't put it down until I was at the end and still was left wanting more. The characters had so much heat its a wonder my kindle didn't melt. The story was well written. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. This is a must read for any book lover.

I loved this book. Once I started I couldn't put it down until I was at the end and still was left wanting more. The characters had so much heat its a wonder my kindle didn't melt. The story was well written. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. This is a must read for any book lover.

Gemma and Lila have been best friends for years. Gemma has had a crush on Lila's father but after graduation, it got worse. One night after seeing a drunk Lila safely home, Gemma accidentally spied on Lila's dad having sex with his cook. After it was over, he caught her escaping her viewing place and demanded that she not tell her friend. Gemma agrees but only if he kisses her. Seeing him in action made her determined to have him punch her v-card. She has also decided to change herself into a more confident and sophisticated looking woman. That kiss haunted both Gemma and whitt for four years.
Four years have passed from their first kiss and Gemma has graduated from college. Whitt's secretary has quit and Gemma is determined to get the job. She wants to use the job to give her a chance of finally seducing Whitt. Whitt wants her but he is afraid that he is too old for her and it will hurt his daughter's feelings. This book has most of the romance tropes you would expect after reading the title. A womanizing rich guy (Whitt) continually attempts and fails to keep himself from having steamy sex with his daughter Lila's best friend, Gemma, a virgin who aggressively pursues him after witnessing him in a sexual encounter. I expect if you like this kind of book, of which there are a lot of right now, you will also enjoy this one. I do like these kind of books when I am in the right kind of mood - they are quick, light and fun, with some heat and a guaranteed happy ending. This met my expectations in all of those areas - I read it in one sitting and will remember this author when I am in the mood for another book like this. I will also check to see if there is a book that features Lila and her Daniel.
I didn't have any sort of emotional connection to the book or characters - there isn't really enough information about them for that - though I do think the fact that the hero sleeps with every single female employee of his makes come off as sleazy. Besides Gemma's interest in art/design, the only thing we really know about her is that she is "All Things Whitt" (and even her art/design track was for him). I liked that Lila didn't have the typical "I hate you both!" response when she found out about their relationship. All in all it's a fun way to spend an hour or two (if you like this kind of story, mind you)

Oh lordy this is a great new author I have found through another author and I am pleasantly suprized by her.
Erotic, Taboo, Sexy, Fun, Dramatic all things you neeed in a book.
Whitt oh Whitt first of all when u find out his real name u wont be able to stop laughing but he is a strikingly sexy gorgous character that fights his nature and everything that tells him dating/ sleeping with his daughters best friend is the worst idea ever.
But who can help but love him. You so want to hate him because of the things he does but you just cant hes sexy smart intelligent right dominating as hell. Im fanning myself just typing this up.
Gemma has been friends with Lila since they were 15. Lila's home has always felt like a home to her but shes had her eyes on Lila's dad for years. Just waiting for her moment to be with him and return the love she has for him.
This is definitely not a normal romance. The beginning for them is rough and full of secrets and not what you think a romance should be but honestly its more real to what alot of girls and guys go through before being in a honest to god relationship. I love it.
I saw all these reviews for it as I was writing this and im like no it had romance just not in the normal hopeless romantic conventional way that fairy tales make you think it should be. Real life is much different.
This is amazing and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Gemma is friends with Lila but she'd like to be more than friends with Whitt, Lila's playboy dad. She manages to blackmail him into kissing her but he is determined not to take things further because of her age and because she's his daughter's friend. Time passes when Gemma goes off to college but now she's back and ready to claim the one man she's been saving her "v card" for.. She decides to get a job at Whitt's firm and goes on an all out, no holds barred, attack to seduce the one man she's always wanted. When these two do finally come together, wait for the fireworks because the tension has been explosive!
This is a story of passion, longing, crushes and unrequited love. It is well written and a real page turner, as you wonder what Gemma will do next to get Whitt's attention. Will Gemma finally succeed in getting her man and can Whitt overcome his reluctance to become involved with a much younger woman?
The book was enjoyable but I was a little uncomfortable with Gemma's behaviour in places although I put that mostly down to her age. Gemma has been best friends with Lila since High School and started to spend alot of time at the Porter house because of her family life as she didnt have parents but only had her grandmother so she never really had a family until she became best friends with Lila. One thing Gemma never told her best friend was how she was always in love with Lila's father Whitt and wanted to be with him. When Gemma was 18 she made her move but Whitt turned her away saying it would never happen, even tho that happened Gemma still saved herself for him.
What I enjoyed most about My Best Friends Dad is watching how loyal Gemma was for Whitt and how she never gave up on what she really wanted which was to be with Whitt because she loved him, watching Whitt go back and forth on what he wanted and what he shouldnt have with Gemma but giving in, watching the both of them fall for the other but Whitt still wanting what was best for her, while Gemma still never gave up hope.

The general premise of the story is good. The sexy scenes are hot and steamy. The characters however, leave a lot to be desired. I did not like Whitt, Gemma or Lila. They are selfish and reckless people who just did not endear themselves to me. Whitt is even cruel in his treatment of Gemma. He pulls her in and tells her things that sound like a commitment but, then he pushes her away and tells her their affair is over. Gemma is relentless in her pursuit for Whitt. She dresses too provocatively in the office to entice him. When it isn't going her way Gemma uses Whitt's best friend, Dax to make him jealous. Their behavior is appalling. Don't get me started on all the secrets they have - it's bothersome.
The characters become more to my liking when Gemma finds out she's pregnant. The story uses it as the turning point for all of them. Whitt becomes the man he should have been. Gemma finals takes her actions seriously and immediately becomes mature. Lila stops pouting and fighting with her father and accepts his relationship with her best friend.
Once again, the taboo storyline is good, the sex makes good with its promise and the HEA is exactly what it should be, I just wanted better people to live out the story.

Whitt and Gemma play the May/December game to perfection and to spicy it up even further they throw in some hints of daddy/daughter to get our motors running. Gemma has been hopelessly crushing on her besties dad since she met the man. He is handsome, charming, and oh so sexy - but he insists that she is too young, sweet, innocent, and close to his daughter to ever cross the line with. So she had been quietly pining away for him years and saving her v-card for the day when he would finally wake up and she her as the bombshell baby she is and make all her fantasies come true. Whitt is a player in the highest regard. Beautiful woman flock into his arms and he takes full advantage of their considerable charms. Gemma however is a no fly zone no matter how much wants he wants to enter that restricted air space. She means the world to his daughter and he cannot risk the fallout from the inevitable downfall. When she comes to work for him as his secretary he knows he's his rightly and truly screwed. She is gorgeous and determined to make their fantasies into full blown realities. Gemma is not like the others he could just forget about and he is finding himself helpless to want to let her walk away, especially when life decides to give them quite the little surprise.

His Pleasure
Ok I read this thru Kindle Unlimited and I can honestly say that this author is going on DO NOT READ list. Now thus is MY honest review and obviously I can not speak for everyone. I only read the first 2 books and was so frustrated that I had to write this review so I won't get any recommendations about this author or book again. I appreciated that the stories had length to them and I did finish the first 2 so that is why I gave it 2 stars. First off there is a lot of porn BUT I'm not complaining about that I love books like that but the sex is pretty much about him. It is like a porn director wrote this book, because as you know a lot of porns are geared to the male audience. But majority of women are the ones reading these books not men. I was so frustrated that all the sex seemed to be for HIS pleasure even the make-up barn sex was about him (in the second story)
Now the editing was really bad, I don't mind a couple of words, but this was rampant!! An example
"We were terrible startled, therefore, when there was a knock on our door at about four in the morning."
Seriously WTH this was rampant for most of the book.
Again this is my opinion and obviously there are people who like these kind of selfish man all about his pleasure books, just not me.

I love reading this book. It's so full of emotion and lasting friendships. The growth of Lila and Gemma are so unique in today's society. They truly are what best friends should be like caring, family and forgiven. Most of all well wishers to each other. Now when secrets starts to take hold sometime last it can be good and others bad. It all depends on how we take translate the secret . As for Gemma and Whitt I would say they have grown the most. Whitt had that old school thinking were it's taboo to have a relationship with someone that can be his daughter. Whereas, Gemma began to fall for him the night of her graduation. It took one viewing and kiss. It would her all she needed to know about her love for Whitt. In The time being she matured into a head strong woman who went after what she wanted and got the man of her dreams. As for Whitt it took a lot of convincing but he got their only to back off when taughts of his daughter pops into his head. Eventually, he realized that he was in love with Gemma and wanted a family with her. He later accepted his daughter's relationship a little more. In the end love is love you can't run from it, deny it or forbide it from happening. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.

It’s going to be difficult writing this review especially because I was expecting something much more engaging. There were some grammatical errors and certain things such as clothing would change within the same scene it was very frustrating. For instance Gemma would say he looked sexy in his sweats and T-shirt then when they were about to get busy he asked her to take off his belt REALLY! Weren’t you just wearing sweats it was confusing as this happened several times throughout the story. The story line was good I just felt like the characters lacked depth Whitt was a womanizer who pretty much denied his attraction to Gemma and treated her with no respect only until he realized he was losing her he wanted to have her all for himself. Gemma lacked self respect she practically threw herself at a man who kept rejecting her and I felt like she still groveled at his feet. She should have played hard to get and actually dated his best friend just to pay him back for him womanizing ways and he was a man slut at that too and she forgave it like nothing.
I love older sexy men and younger women relationships but I wish this particular one would have had more engaging characteristics and less errors.
