Heh, they let the author write a review of their own book? Well, of course I liked it. But I'll give you some background on its origin that might be more interesting.

I was pretty excited about the Aug 21 eclipse that was going to sweep across the US. It was the first total eclipse in our section of the world since like forever. But I knew I wouldn't see it. Then a few days before the event, I learned about Slooh, a pretty cool website that shows live broadcasts of astronomical events. Suddenly, I would be able to see totality online!

Totally excited, I began writing the story the night before, and continued writing it throughout the event, incorporating elements from both my 92% freaky light version of the eclipse and the online creepy twilight totality. It also incorporates other elements from an article I read a few days before, which gave the story its more serious and sad elements.

Overall, I'm very happy with the quality of my first short story. I like them to have punch, and this one delivers that in spades. So far, three people have admitted to crying, one of them a guy! It's a heady feeling to know I've touched people in some way with my words. I hope you read this and enjoy it. And perhaps you'll leave a proper review!
