Saving her was his addiction.

When Warning Sign drummer Malachi Shawcross first saved Elle Crandall, he put her in a box in his head—do not touch. Not that she remembered him anyway. Then he joined her band, and he got to spend every night behind the kit watching her shred on her guitar.

Hating himself for wanting her.

But that was before the night the band he’d never wanted to join became his family. The night he had to make a choice to save someone, and someone else was lost.

Of course he saved Elle. He’d do it every damn time.

Though she’s filled with guilt, Elle survived—with scars. With her reason to stay clean gone, even temporarily, she’s tempted to be bad.

Oh so bad.

Until Mal’s unexpected help as she recovers turns into something else entirely. She never expected him to offer her another kind of addiction, one just as dark and dangerous as the chemicals she craves.

Him.

But with the band under siege from a threat from the past, Mal is no longer fighting to keep from falling for the one woman he shouldn’t.

He’s fighting to keep her alive.

Touching, sexy, and sweet. Raw Rhythm is perfect for incurable rock romantics, especially ones like me who love their rock stars broody, surly and swoony!

The latest and almost last in the Found in Oblivion series from Quinn and Elliott, sensualists, masters of rock romance, had me glued to my eReader. From the very beginning there were twists I did not expect accompanied by a touching love story I desperately longed for.

On the surface Warning Sing’s drummer, Malachi Shawcross, cares for no one but himself. The truth is he cares. Deeply. Especially for his brother, his niece, and the woman he saved but doesn’t remember him doing so. The irresistible woman who hates him. The sexy guitarist who plays in front of him every night while he pounds away his frustrations on his drums. Until one event changes everything. Until the night he makes a split second decision and saves her once more and nothing will ever be the same.

Richelle (Elle, Ricki) Crandall has had one too many second chances, but this time she’s going to take advantage of the offer made by the man who saved her. To be her addition. It’s as dangerous as it is tempting, especially when her road to recovery is long and their band is still being threatened. Can she keep herself on the straight and narrow and convince Mal she’s he’s as worthy of love as she is?

Getting my hands on a book by this writing duo is always a treat because I know I’ll be getting a wonderful balance between a great plot, complex main characters, visits from characters from past books and other series and a love story that will evoke a wide range of emotions.

I had waited so long for Mal to get his happy ever after. It seemed like it would never happen given his utterly grouchy disposition 24/7. But tough exteriors usually hide soft hearts and his had been unknowingly taken hostage by the lovely Ricki. It was no surprise he had a great capacity to love, but what did surprise me is how many people he actually cared for even if he’d never admit it. He’s protective, thoughtful and sexy as sin. It was delightful to see how much he loved Ricki and absolutely endearing to realize just how much he wanted her to love him back.

Neither Ricki nor her also famous brother Nick has an easy start in life, but she made some colossal mistakes and for the past couple of years she’s been trying to keep her life in check until the night that left emotional as well as physical wounds. For a recovering addict, trying to drown out and numb the pain, fear and trauma without some chemical help seems impossible until the man who seemed to never care about anyone helps her realize everything she stands to lose and gives her a different way to cope.

Besides this being a rock romance and a sort of office romance since the hero and heroine work together, I loved that these two were civil at best, completely antagonistic towards each other the rest of the time. So watching these two build a relationship from enemies to lovers was certainly interesting. Their start was rocky (pun intended), but once Ricki saw beyond Mal’s façade their emotional bonds grew exponentially. They were so deserving of love and a happy ending, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next.

Raw Rhythm is book #6 of the Found in Oblivion series by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. It is a standalone contemporary rocker romance. Told from both points of view and has a happy ending.

I never know exactly what to expect from a book by the writing team of Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott, I know I’m going to get lots of emotion, colorful characters, a hard fought love story, and time with characters from previous books. I also know that they have surprised me on a few occasions and they really did so in Raw Rhythm, to say I didn’t expect the way things played out to happen is an understatement and it is not a bad thing, in fact I have to give them kudos for the twist in this story, one I didn’t expect and one that made for very entertaining reading. On top of that we got a fantastic love story between two people who have antagonized each other since they were placed in the same band, but we also find they have a bit of shared history and more than that when they fall, they fall deep and hard.

Malachi (Mal) Shawcross has always put on an a$$hole front, but the thing is with characters like Mal is that I always feel there is way more to them than meets the eye and in this book we get to see a whole lot of what makes Mal tick. I wasn’t at all surprised that he fell hard, the broody ones always seem to do so, but I was surprised by how deeply he feels for not only Richelle (Elle, Ricki) Crandall, but for people he calls his grandparents and honestly everyone who he works with even though he’d never admit it. I loved the complexity of Mal and that underneath his hard outer shell lurks a sentimental, sweet man who wants nothing more than to be loved and to be seen for the man he is, not for the way the press has portrayed him in the past. He is loyal, thoughtful, protective, and most of all dedicated all qualities very few people see in him.

Ricki Crandall has made some big time mistakes in her life and she has spent the last few years trying to not only make up for them, but to keep her life together so she never goes back to that dark place again. Following an accident at a show, she is in the hospital with a lot of damage to her body including her arm she uses to make a living as a guitarist in Warning Sign. She is scared, traumatized by the fact that one of her best friends lost a man she loved in the accident when she lived, and she longs to bury her head in the sand and forget it all which is behavior she can’t afford to repeat. When she spirals out of control the man who saved her life at the concert, saves her again and leaves her off balance and seeing him in a totally different light. Little does she know that for years he’s wanted nothing more than to be the one she needs, but he’s not sure he can go down that road again with a recovering addict.

The complicated relationship between Mal and Ricki from being band mates certainly put an interesting spin on them moving on to friends and then more. There was no doubt after Mal moved heaven and earth to save Ricki at the event incident that he felt way more for her than just a member of his band, but he backed off to let her heal until she reaches out and then all bets were off. I enjoyed watching them build a relationship even when it was volatile at the beginning with both of their emotions running all over the place from contempt, to hate, to scared, to grateful, and more, but when Ricki began to see the man beneath the mask he always wears I was as entranced as she was. I’ll put it out there because I know people want to know there were several sex scenes and they were fantastically written and hot and that is all well and good, but it was the emotional journey that these two took that made this book so special. I was thrilled that the majority of their conflict came from outside sources and instead of letting it break them, it made them even closer which is always a win.

Raw Rhythm had me run the gambit of emotions and it was a beautifully told love story for two people who so fiercely needed someone to be their champion and in each other they found it in each other. I loved this book!

We finally get the much awaited for story of Mal, the guy who always had an edge to him and would distance himself as much as possible from the rest of his family/bandmates. At the end of the last book of this series we were left with a tragedy that left Mal and Elle behind in New York and both were trying to come to terms with what had happened. Elle, not knowing if she would ever be able to play guitar again and as always struggling with her addictions because it would have just been easier that way to deal with everything now felt like she owed Mal her life. These two seemed to be at each other’s throats all the time and knew how to use words that would cause the most damage to the other and always there to see the continuous rotations of men and women they each went through. So what a strange situation to now be in with only the two of them to help each other through this nightmare.

Would these two actually find some solace in each other or would the past be too much for them to overcome? There are surprises that leave you wondering if this tragedy was an accident or was there something else going on? These authors did a fantastic job yet again giving plenty of steamy sex with a heartbreaking and yet heartwarming story that won’t let you put the book down. For those of you who haven’t read this series and love rock romance, do yourself a favor and get them now. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

I received this book as an ARC for a freely given and honest review.

As we headed into this highly anticipated series finale, there were many loose threads that needed to be tied up. Most critical was the welfare and future of the band and its members after the shocking end to the previous book. Possibly related to that was the resolution to the mysterious mishaps plaguing the band and Ripper Records. Last, but certainly not least, finally learning what makes sexy drummer Malachi Shawcross so dayum grumpy and a reluctant part of the group, and how in the world he and fellow bandmate Ricki “Elle” Crandall were going to stop sniping at each other long enough to find their HEA together. It promised lots of fireworks and drama. And it delivered both in spades, along with much laughter, steam, and tears. A whole bucket’o tears for this reader.

Except for lobbing insults back at Mal, Elle was quiet and kept to herself in the previous books. I didn’t have a real sense of who she was, but thought she might take a submissive roll to Mal’s alpha. Oooooh, I have never been happier to be wrong. She gave as good as—if not better—than she got, and it made for some really fun times.

Grumpy, growly alphas and I rarely get along. I was so curious about Mal’s secrets that I was able to overlook most of his gruffness. Plus Elle did such a marvelous job of keeping him in check his surliness was more entertaining than frustrating. By the epilogue he had mellowed enough that I may have felt a little thaw in the area around my heart.

Much of the book focused on Elle and Mal, so we got to know them well. With their familial and professional connections in addition to the series wrap up, the storyline dictated there be appearances by many characters from this and other Quinn & Elliott’s popular series. Seeing the other cast members was exciting and also poignant. Particular moments with some of the family were absolutely hilarious.

This series wrap up was as emotional as expected and funnier than I imagined. It hits you in all the feels, which is why I loved it.

Raw Rhythm is the 6th book in the Found in Oblivion series. I think this story would be best enjoyed if read in order to give deeper insight to the secondary characters, but if anything - Perfect Pitch should be read first as Raw Rhythm begins where Perfect Pitch left off.

I know I've said this before, but this time I mean it more than the last.... Mal and Elle are my favorite couple of the series. They are one of those couples who seemed very comfortable in the background of life. He the drummer, she a guitarist who stays in the middle of the stage. They ignore each other - perhaps because they see each other as equal vs the air they both put on. Together, they burn so bright that there is no way they could just blend into the background.

Elle has some issues in her past and the way that Mal deals with it is just fantastic. This whole series involves families of the heart and families of origin. It's awesome to see how they all meld together into one amazing team.

This story actually had me feeling all the feelings. It seriously has a bit of everything: romance, hot sex, angst, mystery and most of all the sweetest grandparents a person could ask for.

I absolutely recommend this book, this series and these authors.

If I could give this 10 stars or more I would. This story is one of the best I have read in my flove of rockers.
This continues where the cliffhanger ended in Perfect Pitch.
Elle/Rickie and Malachi are staying in New York and the rest of the band returns to California. The angst continues and we finally see Elle/Rickie and Malachi come together and what a revealing moment that becomes. Malachi is in true alpha mode protective throughout the story and Elle/Rickie is true to form also. Elle continues to recover, but has growing concerns. Elle/Rickie is staying with her friend Teagan at her apartment but, after a break-in, living arrangements change.
Malachi and Elle/Rickie return, to California, for the Celebration of Randy's Life service and... Elle/Rickie and Malachi leave separately going different ways. When Elle/Rickie returns, to Malachi's, reveals her suspicions of events. The suspense grows...
My belief is that this is one of the best rocker stories and I want more from these two ladies. Thanks for a awesome story.

great stuff for binge -reading. it's like your favourite soap just had a new episode out.
Larger than life characters, a story that undulates between tension -filled, funny, sad and hopeful, lots of cameos of characters from other books makes this book an absolute must -have for every Oblivionite and fan of Warning Sign and Hammered.
And thankfully this book ends on a hopeful note. Tonight I can sleep peacefully knowing all is going to be well. When can I order my next fix....

••••••••••••

REVIEW: 4.75 stars--RAW RHYTHM is the sixth instalment in Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott’s contemporary, adult FOUND IN OBLIVION erotic, rock star romance series focusing on the rock band WARNING SIGN. This is Warning Sign’s drummer Malachi ‘Mal’ Shawcross, and guitarist Richelle ‘Elle’ aka Ricki Crandall’s story line. The FOUND IN OBLIVION series is a spin off from Quinn and Elliott’s LOST IN OBLIVION series. Several characters from LIO cross over including Nick Crandall, band manager Lila Shawcross and Ripper Records owner Donovan Lewis. You do not have to have read the original series to follow or understand the events of RAW RHYTHM although some of the events in the current time line are as of a direct result of earlier events in the original series. RAW RHYTHM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion. Mal is the brother of Michael Shawcross (Bedded Bliss / Found In Oblivion #1), and step-son to band manager Lila Shawcross; Elle is the twin sister of Nick Crandall (Owned / Lost in Oblivion #5).

NOTE: If you have not read book five –PERFECT PITCH-there may be some spoilers in my review.

Told from several third person perspectives including Mal and Elle, RAW RHYTHM picks up immediately after the events of book five PERFECT PITCH in which an accident tore apart the rock band Warning Sign leaving our heroine struggling for her life, and grieving the loss of a close-member of their music family and crew. For three years, Malachi Shawcross has been both protector and foil to Warning Sign guitarist Richelle ‘Elle’ Crandall, a former drug addict whose rock and roll lifestyle was spiralling out of control. A deadly on-stage accident finds our heroine struggling to move forward as grief and survivor’s guilt weigh heavily on her fragile shoulders. Enter Mal Shawcross, adversary and enemy, and the man with whom Elle would fall in love. What ensues is the building romance between Mal and Elle as Mal helps our heroine through acceptance and recovery, and the potential fall out as the past comes seeking revenge against the people he believes have done him harm.

Throughout the series Mal and Elle have battled their apparent attraction and hatred towards one another as Mal continues to watch from the sidelines as the woman with whom he had fallen in love slowly destroyed what was left of her life. Elle struggled to remain clean but the rock and roll lifestyle fed the addiction that was to become the devil inside. But the accident brought everything into perspective including our couple’s sexual attraction and desire for one another. The $ex scenes are erotic, passionate, seductive and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including all of the members and their spouses of the rock bands Oblivion and Warning Sign; employees of Ripper Records; and Lila’s parents aka Grandma and Grandpa Ronson; and Elle’s friend Teagan.

RAW RHYTHM is the second to last instalment in the authors’ FOUND IN OBLIVION series. The romances are provocative and emotional; the characters are heartbreaking and real; the story lines are powerful and inspiring. RAW RHYTHM is a story of two people fated by circumstance pulled together by mutual grief and loss; battling the demons that all but destroyed their lives. The premise is riveting; the characters are animated; the romance is edgy and hot.

Oh my word......Raw Rhythm was worth the wait! Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott knocked it out of the park with this gritty, emotional, raw and unforgettable story about the mysterious and gruff Malachi Shawcross (he, the former stepson of Lila Shawcross Crandall) and the beautiful but flawed Elle (aka Ricki/Richelle) Crandall (she, the twin sister of Nick Crandall). Raw Rhythm is not a standalone as it picks up exactly where Pitch Perfect left off and Quinn and Elliott immediately go for the jugular as readers grapple with the aftermath of the accident that changed the lives forever for the members of Warning Sign and their significant others. The story will hit every emotion for readers: heartbreak, salvation, hope, happiness, surprise, fear and ultimately faith and contentment.

The characters are some of the most powerful that the authors have written. Malachi (known as Mal) has been a complete enigma from the first instance that we met him. Mal is a complete paradox---big, dark, brooding and mysterious, keeping mostly to himself rather than getting close to any of his bandmates, including his brother. Yet in Raw Rhythm we see a side of Mal that will make readers melt. He's caring and tender, capable of love in a way that nobody would ever expect. His reasons for putting up these solid walls around himself will break your heart. There's a reason he is how he is and as Elle gets to know the "real" Malachi, she peels back his layers and finds immense beauty within. Yes, he'll always be gruff and brooding, but when Elle breaks through those walls, readers will fall head over heels for this uniquely beautiful man.

Then there's Elle (to those who know her from the past, she goes by Richelle or Ricki with Elle being her stage name). She's a former addict who has made something of her life as one of the guitarists in Warning Sign. She and Mal have had a contentious relationship at best from the start but when Mal saved her life at the end of Pitch Perfect, something changed and Elle is determined to figure out the surly Mal. Elle's backstory is also an emotional one. Readers of Quinn and Elliott's Lost in Oblivion series have learned part of her history being that she is the twin of LIO's founder and lead guitarist. But readers are in for surprises aplenty as her full past is revealed. As Elle and Mal spend more time together, their bond grows and these two finally give into the intense sparks that have always sizzled on the periphery. Get ready to fan yourselves readers because they are two of the HOTTEST couples I've read. Forget sparks, these two ignite into an inferno!!!

Since this is an emotional and gritty story, of course there are secrets that come to light that will shock each character as well as readers. There is also danger, intrigue and an exciting culmination to a menacing threat that has loomed over Warning Sign, ultimately causing the devastating accident in Pitch Perfect. Just when I thought I had it figured out and knew who was wreaking havoc on our favorite characters, the authors go and pull one over on readers, veering in a completely different direction. The mystery/suspense is superbly written and will leave readers reeling when all is revealed.

At its very heart and soul, Raw Rhythm is a love story for the ages reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast. Both characters save each other in different ways and the beauty revealed within each is unforgettable. It's an emotional journey that will make you laugh and make you cry. You'll fall in love and bank a new book boyfriend and when all is said and done, you'll pray to the altar of Quinn and Elliott and thank your lucky stars that these two came together to create a story and characters that will resonate deeply. This story gets all the stars and then some!

This book was sent to me for an honest review. Heartbreaking, swoon-worthy, sexual chemistry, suspensful, satisfying. These are some of the words I would use to describe this book. Feels like I've been waiting forever for Ricky and Mal's book to arrive. This book picks up right where the previous book left off, with Nick picking up strong vibes that Ricky was in danger. After something going horribly wrong, Mal only had enough time to save one person that was Ricky, the person he was secretly pining for. Tears came to my eyes when it was confirmed that Randy did die from the accident. After finally being released from the hospital, Ricky decides to stay in New York because she feels to guilty to see Jules, Tristan, and everyone else. Mal has also stayed in New York but it was to escape the press and to look after Ricky whether he realized it or not. Ricky is staying with her best friend and when she finds out that Mal is still in New York, she looks him up. She feels very guilty that Mal saved her instead of Randy. She feels that he had more to live for than what she did. She can't understand why he did it because she always felt that Mal hated her. He invites her to watch a gig where he is playing drums. She blows him off but decides later on to go with her best friend to check out the show. Survivor's guilt is hitting her hard and she ends up falling off of the wagon at the show. Mal sees her and when he realizes what happened, he takes it upon himself that he will become Ricky's warden to make sure she cleans up her act. He gives her several valid reasons why she needs to get her act together. When strange things start to happen, Mal decides to also become her bodyguard. His feelings for her start to grow stronger while Ricky's for Mal start to change. The more she gets to know Mal, the more drawn towards him she feels. After he takes someplace to protect her, they finally give into their feelings. Ricky finally rembembers Mal from before, when he had saved her once before and can't believe she didn't remember until now. Their new paradise is cut short when Lila shows up to take them back to California. Ricky starts to feel guilty again about having to face Jules and Tristan at Randy's memorial service. More strange things happen to Ricky and Mal becomes even more protective. It finally comes to a showdown with the person behind the accidents and Ricky and Nick. I have to admit that the person behind the strange happenings wasn't one I would have guessed. All throughout the book I kept trying to figure out who it was. The sexual chemistry was off the charts between Ricky and Mal and it was delightful to read how their feelings and connection grew. Out of all of the books in this series, I am satisfied with the ending of this book. All of the others left me feeling incomplete but this one delivered. I am so looking forward to reading the last book in this series.

This is book 6 in this series and I would definitely read the books before it. Especially the one right before it (Pitch Perfect) as this book starts off almost as a continuation of that book. This one is about Malachi (Mal) Shawcross and Richelle (Elle or Ricki depending who is talking to her) Crandall. Mal is Michael's (Bedded Bliss) brother and Elle is Nick's (Shattered from Lost In Oblivion series) twin sister. Mal saved Elle's life towards the end of Pitch Perfect. After all the angst and arguing between the two of them, he still saved her life. Since Randy's death he has felt like this band is actually family to him after saying it wasn't since the beginning. Elle may have survived but she feels major guilt because she lived and Randy didn't. That maybe she shouldn't have been the one saved. Her and Mal end up meeting up just to talk about what happened. And they start spending time together, at first because Mal thinks Elle needs someone to keep watch on her to make sure she stays sober but then because they both start to realize how much they truly like each other. But little do they know, what happened to them and the band was no accident. And it's not over yet.

I absolutely loved this book!! Mal was so much more than what I was expecting! I thought he would end up being this plain old mean man with no depth based on the previous books, but he is so much more than that! The things he hides to keep himself safe and unhurt along with his own secrets that the others don't know about, he is a great character. He may have overtaken my other favorite in this series and that is really hard! I also adored Elle! For everything that she has gone through in her short life. And to know that she was strong enough to make such huge changes and become a person with such great goals? I loved her! Yes, she has issues, but everyone has issues. It's when you stop trying that things go downhill. Putting them together? They are perfect for each other. They may be opposites in many ways but it compliments each other so well! I highly recommend this book and loved every minute of it! I can't wait for the next. And I am really hoping for some books with Roth security and Noah!!

OMG this one tugs at the heart strings, soooo many times. Throughout this book there are many ties to other stories and characters in the Oblivion Universe, and I don't think it can be read easily without understanding the complex web of relationships from the other books.

An underlying theme of this book is the fallout, healing and the aftermath of the devastating death of a key character that left us gutted at the end of the previous book. The romantic core of Raw Rhythm is an interesting romance between the remaining single members of the band Warning Sign, who were feeling isolated watching their bandmates pair off and find their HEAs. It was lovely to see Hero Malachi’s softer side at times - his gentleness, quiet caring, and his loving relationship with Lila’s parents was adorable. The sex was athletic and raw, but worked for this couple. Ricky/Richelle/Elle was struggling in this book with her addictions, but Malachi provided the strength and backbone to help her to find her own strength.

One of my favourite parts in the book was the touching insight into the strong bond between Elle and her twin Nicky that came up in several places. This story also had a couple of scenes where Lila revealed her loving heart, and there are lots of lovely moments with the extended family/friends in the Lost in Oblivion and Found in Oblivion universe.

OMG so many wonderful moments and sad moments and loving sentimental moments all through the book, so YOU BETTER KEEP A FULL BOX OF KLEENEX HANDY… This series and the writing just keeps getting better. Rating: 5 Unreserved Stars – Amazing! Book Seven to wrap up this Series can’t come soon enough! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Final Note: one of my favourite scenes occurred at the Celebration of Life event when…
“Music floated out from the side of the patio. Nick, Deacon, Gray, and Simon sat in a half circle of chairs, playing an instrumental song on acoustic guitars. One Mal had never heard before...”
Would love to know what they were playing….

In this much anticipated sixth book in the Found in Oblivion series, the band members of Warning Sign and their significant others are dealing with the aftermath of the concert disaster that took the life of one of their own.

The story begins with Mal saving Elle from serious injury. There's obviously a connection there and his feelings for her spill out into the open, but unfortunately, Elle is semi-conscious. After all, Mal has usually been a bit nasty to everyone in the band and projects the image that he doesn't want to be part of Warning Sign. That couldn't be farther from the truth -- which is that he's seriously in love with Elle.

Elle is dealing with a bucket-load of survivor guilt and she's in a bad way. It's easy for her to self-medicate with street drugs and when she travels down that path, it's Mal who saves her again. They end up spending time together that shows Elle a totally different side of the man behind the drums.

I've been waiting for Mal's story since the beginning of the series, and Raw Rhythm did not disappoint! Yes, Mal is a bit of a "junkyard dog" (one of my favorite quotes from the title), but we finally get to see his heart and the depth of his feelings for Elle. It's really quite beautiful in a rough-around-the-edges sort of way, which complements Elle very nicely. Not only do they connect physically (wow!) but also are great together outside the bedroom (or shower).
I loved these two together.

There are some tough moments for them to get through, like a memorial service and their bandmates and relatives finding out they are together. And it turns out there's a killer on the loose who's targeted their own. The concert disaster was no accident and when all is revealed, everything comes full-circle.

I adore the escape I find in this series by these authors. The characters are always interesting, and the romance is always scorching hot with just the right amount of drama.

So another winner for me in this series! Can't wait for more!

Ok, new favorite!

Well, I really loved Ryan's story but I've been soooo curious about the bad, bad, stone cold Malaki Shawcross for quite a while now and wow..the wait for all the details was worth every minute! He's been mentioned so many times between Lost in and Found in Oblivion, I knew his story was saved for last for a reason. He's big, he's bad, leaves all emotions at the door, he's sarcastic and often mean, especially to Elle/Ricki Crandall. He's also very sexy in a caveman sort of way and stands back from the crowd, observing and commenting but not wanting to become a part of anything much less the band he's been coerced into joining. Or so he'd like you to think!

Oh, how I love this type of alpha man in my rocker romances! It's so much fun to watch them in action and see what's behind the mask! What he did for Elle, the woman he appears to hate and berate at every turn in the last book, was so gallant and brave, who couldn't be affected by it?

This book has a theme of healing and change running through it that will toy with your heart, might make you cry and will certainly having you laughing despite the sometimes heavy subject matter that lingers on from book 5's brutal ending. The sexy factor is burning hot and will leave you in a puddle one way or another. Mal and Elle/Ricki are are hilarious as they try to navigate their enemies to friends to ???? relationship and it's a process you won't want to miss out on. Nick, one of my most fav Oblivionites, played a big part in this book which showed off his crazy, protective twin brother side, along with his icy Dragon Lady wife Lila who may not be so cold after all. The epilogue was swoony and perfect...REALLY loved this one the most of all but I can't wait to read the last (waaaaa😫) book of the series and see how it all wraps up for now. I'm hoping that we'll still continue to see and hear about all our beloved rockers in future series and books which I'm sure these authors will make happen!

Big time recommend for this book and the entire amazing series!💖

Another Hot Couple to Love

Okay Warning Sign Fans and new comers alike - you are going to love this story of Mal and Elle!! Mal is the estranged brother of Michael Shawcross and Elle is the recovering addict twin Sister of Nick Crandall from Oblivion - both members of the Warning Sign band. Now if you didn't read Pitch Perfect, you may want to stop right here and go read that one first.....because this book picks up right where that one left us hanging and heartbroken, so this book will have spoilers....and hence my review going forward will also have Pitch Perfect Spoilers so:

***************STOP READING HERE**************

If you have not read Pitch Perfect - go! Get outta here!!

So our sweet recovering addict Elle who kills on the guitar is alive today because of the big, mean-ass Mal who in the past has acted like he hates her. The first part of this story is Elle recovering and developing feeling for the big gruff guy as she recovers from injuries sustained both physically and mentally while the second half is us seeing them together, discovering Mal's past and him finally admitting to Elle how he has had feelings for her from the first time they met that she initially does not remember! ALSO, we get answers to what happen that fateful night when we lost one of our beloved Warning Sign Family and what all the mysterious crap going on at Ripper Records has been all about. This mystery is solved with a heart pounding fight to the death!! So this one here gives us a great romance, hot sex, mystery and suspense! All-around great ride! Pick this one up, it will be hard to say goodbye to this couple, but luckily we get teased with the next installment featuring these guys!! So no need to say good bye just yet!

I'm going to base this review on the merits of the book rather than on my enjoyment or lack of enjoyment of it. It wasn't exactly my favorite of the series, but the book definitely has some very good things about it.

Mal and Ricki (AKA Elle) are sympathetic characters, and I can see how they resonate with many readers. I found myself wondering a LOT about Mal's outlook on life though, so it took me almost to the end to sort of bond with him. I eventually did. So kudos to the authors.

The other thing that I found a bit strange was the inclusion of their original meeting as an addendum to the book instead of just putting it at the beginning. I kept feeling as if I missed something and spent a lot of time wracking my brain to try to remember having read about it in an earlier book. I'm still not sure. But when we finally get to read it at the end when the book is actually over, it was anticlimactic. It had been alluded to so many times already.

The really great parts of the book, in my opinion, are that we get to see a lot of things about Nick and Lila and their loyalty to Ricki. Also Lila's loyalty to Mal, whether he wants it or not. The grandparents are as wonderful as always, and visiting their orchard is always fun. It's also enjoyable to watch Mal transform from a grumpy Gus to a romantic hero, even if he's still a grumpy one.

I had a really, really hard time understanding Jules' attitude toward Ricki. So I can't give this one 5 stars just for that alone. If they were such good friends, wouldn't Jules be HAPPY Ricki made it through the accident in one piece??

The resolution of the suspense issue (no spoilers here) is a welcome relief!

After the ending in Perfect Pitch, I knew Raw Rhythm would be an emotional read. There were times when I had to stop and take a deep breath as I felt great empathy for these characters. I will admit to shedding a few tears on a couple of occasions.

This is Mal and Elle's (Ricki) love story and is different from the previous books in this series as it concentrates on their relationship and healing, rather than the band and their music. It follows them as they both, but Ricki in particular, try to come to terms with previous events and put their lives back together.

There is so much to love about this story. Mal and Ricki's developing relationship is a joy. I like the fact that although Mal realises what he's been missing all these years and regrets his life on the outskirts of family life, he doesn't have a complete personality transplant. He is still grumpy and growly but his witty, dry sense of humour and the way love softens him a little, make him a much more relatable character. Ricki is so lovely. Despite everything she's gone through in her life and the demons she still fights, I found her to be sweet and funny, loving and surprisingly strong. She deals with Mal's surly behaviour perfectly. Will Mal finally be the one to give her the marriage and children she longs for?

Raw Rhythm has everything, including a twist I didn't see coming. There's tears, laughter, drama, drugs, danger and of course super sexy times. I have to give grandma Laverne in particular a mention. She is hysterical. It's always the quiet ones you have to watch out for!

So Much in This Book...

I have been waiting to read Malachi and Ricki/Elle's book! (I have a thing about reading books in order, so it took me a while to get here!)

This book is bittersweet. If you read the last book, Perfect Pitch, then you know tragedy befell the Oblivion and Warning Sign family. Not only was Ricki/Elle seriously injured, but a member of the family was lost. Raw Rhythm deals with a lot of the aftermath of the "accident"....or was it an accident?

There is a lot of emotional pain and turmoil to go along with the physical injuries. Who would've guessed that Malachi Shawcross would turn out to be Richelle (Ricki/Elle) Crandall's hero not once, but twice?

I'm a sucker for the bad boy... especially for the ones with pain their pasts...so it's no surprise that I'm totally in love with Malachi. I knew he and Ricki would end up together, but I could never have guessed how they'd get together.

(And I totally love Lila's parents! They're always sticking folks in the "baby making" room!)

There is a HUGE twist to this story! If you've been reading/have read the Lost in Oblivion series... this one will blow you away! (At least it did me.)

You don't really have to read all of these series, but a lot of the characters cross. I'll be reading the first Rock Revenge book before I read the last Found in Oblivion book. (This reading order can be found on the authors' website.)

I have been patiently (sort-of) waiting throughout the entire Found in Oblivion series for the book that would finally redeem Mal, the growly, crabby, anti-social hulk of a man that has lurked in the backdrop of all the previous books. At the same time, I was rooting for Elle/Ricki to finally find the right man.

Raw Rhythm did not disappoint!

Elle and Mal have a complicated past, much more so that she even realizes, and as the book plays out, things remain complicated for a while. This book is loaded with all the feels: anger, frustration, secrecy, compassion, redemption, love and a whole lot of lust! I laughed and cried, and re-read some sections even before I finished the whole story. This one will stick with you for a while, both the story and the sexy scenes are highly memorable (I found myself examining my shower very carefully trying to imagine possibilities…..). I LOVED it so much!

Cari Quinn / Taryn Elliott books are automatic one-clicks for me anyway, but I feel like each book they release just keeps getting better than the one before it.

Pick this one up, and if you haven’t read all the books in the Lost in Oblivion and Found in Oblivion series, do that too! These characters become so relatable you’ll swear you know them personally.

I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am a big fan of Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott and especially the Found in Oblivion series. Raw Rhythm is the much-anticipated book 6 in the series, after they gave us a crazy cliffhanger in book 5 (Pitch Perfect).

Raw Rhythm centers around Malachi Shawcross and Elle (a.k.a. Ricki) Crandall and begins immediately when the last book left off. Both Mal and Elle are trying to deal with the fallout from the events of their last concert. Separately they both decide to stay in NYC for a bit to try to cope with their own mental and physical recovery and ultimately end up spending the time together. While both have strong personalities and a history of butting heads (or just ignoring each other), they're drawn to one another in a way that neither saw coming or wanted.

I have always had negative feelings towards Mal's character in previous books and I assumed eventually we'd get his backstory but man did he redeem himself in this one! I absolutely love him and Elle together. I highly recommend the entire series (and all of the authors' related rock star romance series!) but would definitely suggest starting from book 1 to fully understand the characters and especially the events that lead up to Raw Rhythm. This book has it all- romance, suspense, tragedy, redemption, and definitely heat between the main characters!

If I could give it more stars I would!

After we were left with a completely shocking and stunning ending in Pitch Perfect (Found in Oblivion book 5), this book resumed right there. This book relives the gut wretching scene with Nick suffering from twin telepathy for Elle/Ricki to the sweet tender moment between Mal and Ricki in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. l couldn't wait to see how this love story would unfold with the ever grumpy Mal. He's always so standoffish and doesn't want to be a part of the band. But then there's Ricki, a recovering drug addict but a key part of the band. This book had so much to it. These characters were so developed you couldn't help but hope that they could overcome their pasts and work together. Their bickering/banter was a joy to see. The depth of love that Mal had for Ricki but was so afraid to share just grabs at you. He felt he was so damaged and unloveable. Then there's Ricki, who so desperately wants to find her happily ever after but realizes she's one choice away from slipping back into her drug fueled ways. I really can't tell you how great this book is. There was so much to this book, that I want to read it again already! A must read!

*** I received an advanced copy and chose to review it ***

Raw Rhythm is the 6th book in the Found in Oblivion series. It starts off where the previous book left off. You do not have to read the entire series to know what's happening in this story, but it's SO much better if you do. And all the books are wonderful, suck-you-in reads, so you'll be glad to have read them all.

Malachi Shawcross is the gruff and gorgeous, if not reluctant, drummer in Warning Sign. His has saved the life of bandmate, and recovering drug addict, Elle Crandall, who feels guilty that she was saved and another was not. He's getting unwanted attention for his act of heroism, and she needs someplace quiet to recuperate and come to terms with her survivor's guilt. Their separate self-imposed exilies become intermingled when Mal insists that Elle stay with him during her recovery.

The romance between Mal and Elle builds slowly, as they each finally admit their attraction to one another. Slow does not mean "without steam" as holy mama the sex scenes between them are scorching. As Mal and Elle grow closer, dangers of varying kinds (trying not to do the spoiler thing here) encroach on their cocoon. Overall a very enjoyable read, and another winner from Cari and Taryn!

A really good read. Darker than the previous books in this series but I think Mal & Elle/Ricki needed it to be. He isn't a light & fluffy person & her life has been hard generally!!

Getting to know these two on a deeper level was great, especially Malachi. He's been such an enigma throughout all of the books, to finally gain some understanding was a relief 💙 We had come to know a fair bit about Ricki but it was from others points of view of her, throughout the two series as well. Looking at things through her eyes was quite different!! Thankfully, as a couple they worked really well & they steamed up the sheets & shower fabulously 😂 Ricki & Mrs Turnbull were hilarious making Mal squirm 😆

This book, like the few before it, has a certain thread of menace running through it. We don't know if these things are coincidence or not. That ratchets up a lot in this book
There is also all of the aftermath of the loss of a loved one from the previous book to deal with, I bawled so hard my nose got bunged up 🙄😭

This was a hard hitting book, in a similar way that Grey & Jazz's was. Gritty with some deep & dirty emotions. It didn't back away from the grief within the band, that impressed me!! I think this was an impressive 4.5 star read!!!

Powerful, sexy and strong!

Malachi Shawcross is the strong silent type who will not hesitate to tell you to f@$: off if you piss him off. The one woman who has always been able to go toe to toe with him is Elle Crandall, with her snarky comebacks and quick wit. Together they are a powerhouse couple that finally realize that their paths were meant to be together after tragedy strikes.

I so enjoyed reading the push and pull of their relationship. They were both hell bent on not being in a relationship, but the stars aligned and they were pulled together. And let me tell you that joining of Mal and Elle was electrifying!

The words from the pages popped out of the book and made me feel like I was right there with them and that is one of the things that draws me to Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott’s books; I know that I will be immersed in the worlds they create and invested in the characters.

This book had it all for me, happiness, sadness, quick with and some seriously Hot love scenes! Though the Warning Sign crew has suffered, in this book they have found their redemption! I loved it!

Oh wow!!! This book did not end like I thought it would at all. I definitely was surprised at the direction it took & who was actually responsible for Randy’s death. I bawled through the first three chapters, because I couldn’t believe that Randy was gone & Elle (Ricki) was so damaged. Guilt was a strong forerunner in this book, the guilty feeling for being alive, the guilty feeling for saving the one you loved & not another person & the guilty feeling at not being strong enough & relapsing into substance abuse. I didn’t really like Ricki in the Lost in Oblivion series, or Mal in this one, but after the ending of Perfect Pitch I was relieved to find my feelings had definitely changed towards them. I always wondered what was going on with Mal & why he picked at Elle so much. He was acting out because of his feelings for her & his fear she’d remember how they’d first met. I was & wasn’t surprised to find out Lila had something to do with that, but was surprised as to why Mal had agreed to do it. He’s saved Ricki/Elle more than once. Definitely fell in love with Ricki/Elle & Mal. Loved it & recommend to read.

Finally the story behind Mal!! I have been wanting to know more about him from the beginning as I was sure there was more to the grumpy brooding man than what met the eye. I was glad that both Elle/Rickie and Mal got their story and was not surprised to see that there was more to their story than one was first to believe and I enjoyed the twist there. The pair were damaged from the events from the previous book and had a road to healing that they took together and was an emotional read at times as they dealt with those issues. I liked that they finally admitted their feelings for one another as they did make one hot couple. There were a few other twists in their story that wrap up other threads in the Oblivion series as well as this series as well. I am sorry to see this series coming to an end but I can not wait to see what the last book in the series will hold for readers. I enjoyed this book from page one and had a hard time putting this book down once I started it.

I have waited for Mal’s story for so long and I always thought it would be Elle. Thank you! Mal stayed to himself and wasn’t the most friendly person throughout so you know his story was going to be a heck of a ride. Then one night changes everything - a deadly accident. Mal just kept surprising me in his story. I liked him as the grumpy drummer and just couldn’t wait for more cause I knew I would love him once I learned it all. He’s protective, caring and loving for his family and now the band he didn’t even want to be in or the girl who has captured his heart.
Richelle (Elle, Ricki) is dealing with survivor’s guilt - she's traumatized. As she tries to cope with everything and begins to lose control can she be saved again? Mal takes on the challenge.
This was one beautiful friends to lovers story. Two souls who are made for each other, even though the journey was one emotion ride. Their chemistry is hot! Have your kleenex ready. I can’t put into words how beautiful this story is.

This book was an emotional roller coaster for me. This book made me actually cry in places. This book is the 6th book in the Found in Oblivion series. To really get this book u must read the books before or you might be confused. But ladies you did an amazing job with this book I can only hope that the final book is just as great as the ones before. Ricki is a drug addict. She was trying to clean herself up but she was having pain in her shoulder. She was with a girlfriend to go to malachi concert. When they was waiting outside Ricki hird girls talking by them about a 'special medication'. These girls got Rickis attention. She salt out those girls. Later after Malachi set he meet up with Ricki and her friend. He knew something was not right from that point on He had to watch her like a hall. These too love birds was growing closer And closer as the times go on. Malachi knew he would protect ricki at all costs. I dont want to give a way to much but Ricki becomes such a brave person for doing one thing to save her brothers life. This book was good even though I cried.

After the surprise ending of the last book I couldn't wait to read this book to find out what happened and to read about Elle and Mal.
This book has as much heart as all the other books but in this one the reader is given the opportunity to see how family - by blood and by choice - come together to help each other and how everything just melts together.
I love Mal and Elle together. Mal has always intrigued me form the start and this book just shows that the ones who push everyone away are the ones who feel the most and need the most.
Elle is always trying to be strong and acting like she doesn't have a care but her past is filled of things she liked to forget.
Together Mal and Elle face her past and his and find the one thing they have both been looking for - love.
This is a wonderful ending to this series. Hopefully it won't all be over.
I was given this book for an honest and voluntary review.
