I Only Like Bad Boys: A Standalone Novel

Rate this book
Heavy is the head that wears the crown, and Mars wears it well as the King of New York. He’s got money, fast cars, and women by the flock. But wearing the crown doesn’t mean anything when you’re alone at the top. Mars is tired of the same old money hungry women, and he’s beginning to think that the only woman who will ever genuinely love him, is his mother. That is, until he runs into the right woman.

Ulani is a beautiful girl with a broken spirit. What started out as a fairytale love, quickly turned into a horror movie nightmare. After spending most of her life under the iron fist of her controlling, abusive boyfriend Bryheem, Ulani isn’t sure if exploring a new love is even worth the wrath of her scornful ex. Love proves to be more complicated than ever when enemies vie for the same heart. The old saying goes, “may the best man win,” but who decides who is the best? With her brain and her heart pulling her in opposite directions, Ulani isn’t sure if she’s capable of making the right choice.

With his right hand man, Jabez, by his side; can Mars maintain the top spot, care for his ailing mother, clean up after his knuckle headed brother, and ward off foes, all while trying to mend a heart he didn’t break? And will Ulani continue to allow her past to control her future, or will she finally allow herself the healing she and her son deserve? Will she allow the love of a bad boy to take her to new heights? Or will she allow it to be her downfall?

OMG...I don't know where to start about this book it was such a great read from beginning to the very end and what a CLIFFHANGER ending. Mouth still hanging open, The characters were so likable and entertaining and well developed. The book had alot of twist and turns with the right about of action, drama and suspense that held me captive; definitely a page-turner. Can't wait to see what unfolds in PT.2. Very well written and great job Sasha Davenport. Highly recommend and you won't be disappointed.

Fate

This was a good book. Mars and Ulani met while Mars was taking her mother to her doctor appointment, from the first time Mars laid eyes on Ulani he was bitten by the love bug, but their is one person standing in their way of happiness, Ulani's unborn child father Brayheem .

I like this story, my only complaint is i wish it would have ended differtly , I have no closure with this story. There were grammatical errors but the story was very interesting.

Wow!!

I was able to read this book in a couple of hours from start to finish it just flowed..I enjoyed the characters loved how the names were different and unique! The plot twist in the middle had me very upset with a certain character after finding out he wasn’t as loyal as he should’ve been.. and the ending just shocked me to no end but all and all it was a great book wish there was a part 2!!

can’t trust no one

Betrayal and greed gets you no where B and Jabez just don’t know karma will get you very soon like how you set your own best friend up to be the top dog in this game you can’t trust nobody I was rooting for U and Mars to be together but Mars took the threats that B was making as a joke now his life his mom U and her baby lives are all cut short due to selfish and greedy people

Wow!!!

This book was something else and I mean that in a good way. It's a shame how Ulani was treated and Mars and his mom was a Godsend. Jabez I really can't say too much on him except be careful of the company you keep. That ending though smh I never seen that coming, greed is something serious.

Why...

I usually don't leave reviews I only leave stars. This book had potential, but was a big disappointment. How was Mars the man in charge but always left loose ends!!!! Mars NEVER bossed up and was always 2 steps behind. Then the right hand let a female turn you into a snake.I feel like this was a waste of my time. My imagination is to vivid for a book like this.

OMG

I couldn't believe the epilogue! Jabez was a horrible friend, snakes would have been more protective! This cannot be a stand alone novel. There needs to be a continuation - whatever happened to Money? Was Jabez able to live with himself? Did Bryheem turn on him? What was Candace's secret about Bryheem? I NEED ANSWERS!!!

What the H*LL was that!

That was an absolute horrible ending. So all of the bad guys lived? What kind of b.s. was that. I wasted a whole day reading this book for it to end like this. I read for entertainment, I like happy endings not sad endings like that. I will never read another book by this author again!

That ending had me stuck on stupid because I never saw it coming. Jabez wanted to be Mars so bad, that he did the unthinkable. Bryheem is surely going to get his the next go round. Poor Mrs Delores didn't deserve that. Neither did Ulani and the baby.

Smh but I loved it!!!

I’m in my feelings because of the ending!!! This book was AMAZING! I can’t wait for the next part! I pray that somehow they all survive! I know Delores probably won’t survive but there’s nothing wrong with wishful thinking!

Terrible

First off ulanie was very STUPID. Her Baby daddy played her every time. Secondly, what was with THE BITCH word. And lastly, the ending like after all that they all end up dying. I'm sorry but this book was terrible.
