Welcome to the world of A Renaissance Flair. This world masquerades as a fantastic escape from the ordinary, for the ordinary, as a Renaissance and fantasy-themed village and resort, but beneath the façade lies a hidden truth: fairies and monsters are real, and they love to come and play with Mortals.
All titles in this paranormal romance series feature gratuitous nudity, naughty bits, sex, lots of cursing—both figurative and literal—sex, some violence, lots of leather, shapeshifters—both foreign and domesticated—witches, Sidhe and fairies, some vampires, a dragon or two, sex, booze, dashing heroines, sassy heroes, and loves that come in all the different varieties found in real life. Oh, and don't forget about the sex. And the cursing—there are witches and fairies involved, after all! If you're looking to have some good, naughty fun, enter the Faire with Flair and lose yourself in the magic!
Currently residing in Honolulu, HI with his partner of many years, C.A. Storm is the obvious pen-name for a not-so-young-anymore graphic designer and former tabletop roleplaying game designer who finally got off his Irish derriere to make a serious go at writing novels.
A former Yeoman in the U.S. Navy who has worked more jobs than he cares to remember, he grew up an Air Force BRAT, and being a bit of a Traveler at heart, has been lucky enough to live all over the world. He tries to bring that expansive world view and love for all things strange and unusual to his writing.
An avid reader from an early age, he got hooked on romance novels early on, and those mixed with horror, science fiction, and fantasy novels, as well as his Irish/European heritage, found solace in a love of the mythology, languages, the supernatural and paranormal.
A firm believer that love can wear different guises and come in many different forms, he writes stories that mingle his fascination with history and legends along with a belief that everyone deserves a happily ever after.
This book had high ratings on both Amazon and Goodreads. While it was better than a lot of first novels, there were issues that kept it from being a 3 stsr or above read for me.
What I Liked: The idea of the novel was interesting and new. I really liked the idea of sanctuaries for all supernaturals one of which appeared as a renaissance fair. This setting was developed well and it was fun. The markings for bonds appearing as tattoos that are hidden under glamour and can only be seen by supernaturals is something I enjoyed as well. I especially liked that the one between the MCs grew and changed as their bond developed.
What I Didn't Like: There was very little tension. The H angered the h at the beginning of the story. This could have been a great set up for some push/pull but the readers are only told that the h avoided the H for a week but since it happened mostly off page, we didn't get to benefit from the build up of the tension. This was a common problem since there was more telling than showing. There was another point in the book whrere there was conflict created by another woman. The discovery of the OW to the resolution was so fast that it wasnt satisfying. Another example is that a character who betrayed the h was introduced into the story. The reader knows who this character is and what he did to the h. After waiting through a significant portion of the book, the confrontation between these two characters is anticlimatic. The second biggest issue is the lack of distinctive voice between the various characters. The h who was 27 sounded like an emotional, hormonal, often giggling 15 year old as did the 63 year old sister of the H. There was a little diference with the males but not enough. Another issue was that some of the thoughts and dialogue did not seem authentic. In the beginning it was especially odd because there was a healthy mix of dated and current language. It was strange and made it hard to get a clear vision of the characters. At times it was cringeworthy.
Overall, I loved the premise of this book. I just wish the execution had been done differently.
I enjoyed this story. It was different and fun. I loved fated mates. I normally try to stay away from the BBW stories but this one was good. I’m looking forward to the next book.
I enoyed this story so much! It gave me a rest from seriousness and grief! It includes one of my favorite monsters! Maybe it has yours too. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes hot paranormal romance and lots of laughs!
This was a fantastic story of finding love in unlikely and unexpected places. I love when authors can keep you engaged in the story make you laugh throughout and have you fall in love with the characters. I love the paranormal aspect, because I absolutely love anything paranormal, but I also love that it's romantic, funny and sweet! The sexy spicy scenes are seriously great, I hope this doesn't make me sound sexist or whatever but if I didn't know C.A. Storm was a man I NEVER would've guessed it. Mainly because all of the romance books I've read written by men have been slightly lacking when it comes to actual romance in books and don't get me started on the sex scenes, but this was perfect, sexy and utterly, ridiculously amazingly well done. Can t wait to start in on book two!
Rik is not human, but lives as a human, along with his siblings, grandparents and his dad. The Leon family run a very lucrative business and it has a job opening. Sam Kelly is unemployed, thanks to a raw deal. She is sent by her dad to apply for this job at the Leon Village, to bad The Big, Bad, Boss is such a jerk. This story was really quite funny in many spots, that's what I liked most. The story itself was a HEA romance, but has more than shifters. I'm not going to say what all is in this one, because I think that's giving to much away.
I love the way C.A. Stormwove this story seamlessly together. Sam has a brilliant Irish temper to go with her name of fire. Rik...LOL Rik is a great guy, but also one that has foot in mouth disease. I LOVE Bertie, that big guy has a piece of my heart, he cooks, protects innocents and is a bit of a wounded soul. This is a must read book for anyone who loves paranormal romance with Fae and shifters.
This was my first book by this author and I'm really blown away. I wasn't sure what to expect but it came highly recommended by a preferred author of mine so I took the chance and I'm not sorry I did. There were some spots I the story I felt could've been expanded and others where the dialogue was a bit strained but overall it was an exceptional read and I'm more than willing to continue forward with this series. Very well written, great storyline, worth the read.
Great debut novel with an intriguing world you can immerse yourself in.
I loved the blending of the history on how they got to where they are now and how each race is managing to live in today's world. Engaging characters, good flow, humor and steamy love scenes. If you like PNR you need to read this fantastic debut novel.
I went into this book thinking it was going to be your typical paranormal read. True mates meeting falling in love with a few bumps in the road. What I got was so much more. The book opened up a whole new world, one I fell in love with. Besides laughing my butt off through it all. I am so looking forward to reading more in this series.
This was an excellent read! I had a hard time putting it down. Very charismatic characters, engaging plot, and a fantastical setting. I haven't read much in this genre, but I'm looking forward to future stories from this author! Great flow!
Sassy fierce FMC and headstrong alpha male collide like no other! There’s humor, sass, emotion and down right naughty nitty gritty! Fantastic book, I would recommend this to anyone!
I love when a soulmate story isn't all Insta love. When rik insults Sam he has to work to get back on her good side. I do feel that he should have worked harder to get her forgiveness. I loved Bertie he was definitely my favorite character. I love gargoyles.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I kept seeing it floating around the recommendations and for some reason never clicked on it. So glad I finally did. I love Sam and Rik. Looking forward to reading more about this world
I adored reading my first book of CA Storm's work. The idea of a permanent renaissance faire that has mythological creatures really got my attention. I was not disappointed. CA Storm's work is full of little things that made me laugh and shocked me. You will not be disappointed in this book.
Wow! Love how the FMC stands up for herself and doesn't hide behind the MMC! And there are plenty of plot twists to keep you reading anxiously! Love it! Can't wait for the next in this series!
Holy shiznet!!! I have never laughed so hard as when I did reading this story. I felt like I was right there watching this story unfold. I love the characters, all of them. They're so real. I can't wait to read the next story. I recommend this read 5 Thumbs up
A very good 1at book Excellent relationship between H&H 2nd characters were good look forward to next book. A few typos but didn't distract from reading
What a great story. It has everything, a mixture of magical creatures, lots of humor, a bit of a mystery and not to forget a lovely romance. So if you want to read a nice feel good story with some zing, you couldn't do better than read this book.
Great story, characters, and world building. Only some minor editing quirks. Love the mfc! A really great cast of secondary characters that you just want to hang out with. The love interest was funny and the mfc leads him on a merry path.
Really enjoyed the book. Plot moved along at a great pace. No what the hell are the doing or not this again moments. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
