Surrounded by fragments of charred human flesh, Nikolay finds himself contemplating his escape from an existence he deems worse than death. New Moscow is a wasteland where nothing grows, and even though there’s no way in and no way out, Nikolay believe he can be the exception; but he’ll find it difficult to escape a city where military tanks line the streets and where the punishment for an attempted escape is death, not to mention the frightening, ghostly beings that weave their way through the city, ripping the human inhabitants to pieces.
