Sean Carter came with many secrets. He wasn’t as charismatic as Malachi Morgan, loud as Papa or sneaky as Nasir King. But something set him apart….Sean moved differently than the others. He was an asset to the Underworld, however his hard work often went unnoticed. Sean was responsible for a lot of major deals that happened over the years and someone else always took the credit. He was never one who sought attention. Sean rather lay low and stack his money. Love was the furthest thing from his mind until he woke up one day and realized that he was getting older and wanted someone at home when he made it in. Jackie wasn’t who anyone expected him to settle down with but he always had his eye on her. Years pass before Sean finally feels the brotherly love from the other members of The Underworld but the question is it too late? Before You Judge represents the story of a true hustler trying to find his way down a path that came with no warning signs. It’s full of everything you ever wanted to know about the mysterious underdog of The Underworld, Sean Carter. The Underworld is a street-crime collection series that starts with The Arraignment, Please Catch My Soul, Pointe Of No Return, From His Rib, The Christ Family, Stranger In My Eyes, Resentment, The Arraignment II, Redemption and Orange Moon followed by Before You Judge.

Didn’t like Sean; he was a bit boring. But, the other characters and their drama was heart stopping. Each book of the series makes me despise Nasir more.
So Sean is the plug!!! I knew he had it in him! I just can’t wait till Nas ole power struck self find out! Nako baby you did the dang thing yet again! Keep up the great work hun!
It was the final 20% of the book for me! I feel bad for Sean - it truly sucks to feel unappreciated and constantly being ignored. Jackie wore me out but I think she means well. Again , I can’t stand Nasir and my heart aches for MJ and Lo (though Lo should have been honest with Simon) i understand why she didn’t.. this book was good, but it wasn’t my favorite-it dragged a lot but then it picked up momentum and I’m running to the next book. 💨
I feel like I'm a member of this family, a member of The Underworld. That's how deep this series is to me, that's how much it means to me. Sean's story had me nervous with anticipation. So many of my questions, fears and concerns were answered but now after reading this Legendary literature, this work of art and masterpiece I have a bigger list of questions. This is book 10 I believe of the Underworld Series and we are almost at the end and I'm devastated. You would think I was a detective the way I go back over every book highlighting line after line trying to piece thus puzzle together but only Nako knows! Sean is my man, I love everything about him. His swag, his quiet confidence that suffocates you. He's a leader, a show stopper without making any noice. A boss and now the plug. For every page I turned I was checking the percentage I was at because I never wanted this story to end. Nako you can do no wrong my friend!
Sean's book was good, learned a lot more about him and what makes him tick. There were some really great moments like when we discovered who killed Jackie' s husband and why. The love, loyalty, and determination that Sean showed to Jackie and the boys was like no other. The fact that he can love and respect a woman after the poor example of his mother is great. Loved his relationship with Boo. Book was good, not great. In my opinion, this author's storytelling has not progressed. I just expect more from an author of this caliber and experience. I'm tired of hearing the same sayings, in too many books "Money made or didn't make someone's d*** hard" for examp!e. We keep rereading parts of other books from this series. While that might help tie things together in The Arraignment books, it's not necessary in each individual character's book unless it involves that character directly. It took FOREVER to get to the action. It feels like the author is just writing to be done instead of giving us a new thrilling ride. This series had such potential. Maybe a new group of test readers who are reading from a critical perspective and definitely a new editor because the errors continue. It sucks to be told you're waiting on the book because it's in editing, then get a product that doesn't reflect that. Grammerly is an awesome app that anyone can use. Last it was said both Sean's book and the series end "The Arraignment III " were both coming out this month. It was then said that there was no release date for TA3. Personally I'd rather wait months for a book that does this series justice than a rushed mediocre effort. I hope this author takes into account the negative reviews and ratings as much or more than the 5 stars.
Where do I begin, Papa was my favorite but I believe Sean has replaced that. These books are like soap opera's! Jade is trippin Chi deserves better. Papa and Demi are my favorite after Nia and East. Nas...smh I don't think he appreciates the underworld too caught up in Power. Is it wrong to say I don't want any if them to be convicted? I've grown to love them all. Lauren should have known Simon would find out, I hope he will forgive and see she truly did love him. Shocking that MJ wants to be a "mother" now. I can't stop telling folks about this series all of them, I don't want them to end! Sean is smart and I'm glad he is looking out for him, he tried to bring unity the underworld didn't want it! The revelation of what his mother did and the murder... (shocking)
I have read absolutely everything this authoress has put out to the public. So many of her characters from different stories and series felt like family to me. It was like she took various snapshots from the lives of my family and friends. But this particular novel touched me to my core. Its like I can relate to Jackie so much, on so many levels. She fought long and hard against wanting to love Sean. But fate prevailed. She wasn't some stereotypical, rich, snobby dopemans girl. The money didn't impress her. She desired him, his heart on the most basic level (while also sharing an extremely complicated bond) in the midst of trying to retain her own sense of self. You genuinely touched me with one Nako!!!!! Salute my sista on a dynamic series!!!!!
I can honestly say that every book I read by this Author is definitely a page turner. The Underworld had more drama than a group of messy women. Sean should of followed his first mind and left these group of men alone. Papa, Chi, and Nasir didn't consider him a equal. They were too arrogant to realize Sean kept them afloat. Sean also was holding on to two jaw-dropping secrets. Nasir was too full of himself to pay attention and realize that someone was getting ready to knock him off of his throne. Papa was a loose cannon and think he is untouchable. Lauren should have told Simon the truth from the beginning.
Most often the person who puts in the most work, is highly underappreciated. Sean Carter, the man who didn’t say much, but actions were louder than words. I love Sean and was glad to get some pieces of his story. I can’t believe how the other members of the underworld downplayed his role! He is just as important as everyone else, if not the most important, but I guess we all saw that in the end. What a way to Boss up!
Overall, I really enjoyed the story. We got to see some of the things that shaped how he is with people.
Definitely a 5-star read, but I will say I’m ready to not hear about Nas/Lo anymore lol…Can’t wait for the Arraignment III #WhosTheSnitch
I loved Sean story he was real as it get and he was getting help dealing with issues and you don't see or hear men especially black men seeking some type of help. Sean is a very smart man and wise for his years and I can't believe the underworld was sleeping on him like that and I feel like Nas is kind of threatened or bothered by Sean cause I think he knew what Sean was capable of and didn't want nobody to be seen bigger or more powerful them him but Sean was making moves and they should have listened to him oh I loved loved how he made things perfectly clear to Jack how he felt about her and the boys he was so upfront like that... I loves Sean Carter❤
WAIT AN ENTIRE 60 SECONDS! AS THE UNDERWORLD COMES TO AN END NAKO DOES NOT DISAPPOINTS. AFTER READING THIS BOOK I AM IN AWE😱😱😱 MY ADRENALINE IS PUMPING AND I HONESTLY CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT I JUST READ. I AM A DIE HARD UNDERWORLD FAN SO I WAS HERE FOR THIS BOOK BUT I FIND MYSELF EVEN MORE INTRIGUED. I LOVED SEAN's STORY FROM START TO FINISH. THIS WAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM ANYTHING NAKO HAS EVER DONE. IVE READ EVERY UNDERWORLD BOOK AT LEAST TWICE. MAN IM NOT READY FOR THIS TO BE OVER🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋
Listen if you haven't read the books before this or The Connect you will be lost and confused. But OMG the ending didn't see that coming I have a better idea of who the wife is in the precinct. More importantly I can NOT stand Nasir King he's full of it...frontin 😂 Sean Sean Sean you blew me away even when you felt unappreciated and was cleaning up messes aka Papa you kept it one hundred didn't compromise your character even when it came down to Ma Dukes. They don't makem like you anymore at all and your story blew me away see you in Arraignment !!!!
lets just say I used to like Nasir King but the more I read this series the more I dislike him. I feel like he does not see that he will be the one to bring the underworld down, and when it come to family and not snitching. I fell Nas will sing like a bird and be like family who. Sean is the real boss They are sleeping on Sean they do not see his real potential on Mj and Lauren can see it. I like that Sean has the Doc on he side he is thing 10 steps head and I hope that It works out for him I love Jackie for seen. this was on of my favorites in this series
Nako comes through again leaving nuggets with her knowledgeable pen game! Of course she gets your attention from the first page until the last still leaving your mind in a whirlwind with thoughts and questions! Never sleep on a nicca who's quiet but always got a business plan because he'll always come out on top after a storm is the lesson I learned from Sean Carter!
I loved this story. Sean always has had a aura that made him unreadable and those type of people are always slept on. I hate how Nas tried to belittle his role in the underworld and in the end it but him in the ass. Sammy better watch herself with my man I know that much. I love Pap and Demi and it was refreshing to see Papa and Mj somewhat cool again. I loved to see how Jade is getting back into her marriage I hope they make it. Can't wait for the finale
It was great to get to know more about Sean Carter story. He mother is a grimy as hell, he gone have to kill her before it over. Who is the wife. Nako it is killing me, with the last two books , you have made us readers aware that one of the wives wives has turn state. Is it Demi? Yes, readers the book was good and I recommend it to the world. I can't wait for the finally.
When people count you out. So you want is for everybody to get along. What's up with Jackie??? Lo can't never be happy tied to this fool. Nas karma coming Chi and Jade can't give it up she ain't worth the headache. She don't love my baby. Wild a** Papa .... When it all hits the fan, who gonna remain ten toes down?... Messed up about his mama he should have kill her.
I've waited on Sean's story for what seemed like forever but it was worth it!!! He has become my favorite male character in this series😍😍 Sean is the best I thought Malachi had mommy issues but Sean's mom takes the cake that was some grimy shit she did 😡😡!! I hope that He and Jackie's relationship can survive the truth about her ex husband's death..I'm so looking forward to The Arraignment 3
I am so proud of this author!!! I have read all of the Underworld series including Arraignment III. This is the first series that I will read over and over again. It is full of drama. It has a lot of life and business lessons as well. After reading this series you should at least want to be a better you and be more productive in love and in business. Best series I have read!!!
I am an avid book reader and I have never anticipated the ending of a series more than this one! The underworld has me entrapped and at full attention. Sean Carter is a good and smart dude. I was happy to see he has the insanity card to play. As a defense attorney, I’m looking for a way out for everyone well maybe except Nasir. I just want Lo to win in life just once!
I was so interested in Sean's story after him and Lauren slept together. I immediately wanted more of him. I can see why Nadir is so threatened by his presence. He is a real man in every sense of the word. He is humble and caring and on so loving. Jackie had no choice but to lower her guard concerning him. I hope he pulls away from the Underworld for he and Jackie's sake.
This book gave us background into Sean’s story and also updates in everybody else’s stories as well. Sean is a quiet laid back kind of guy that does his own thing. Then the kind of male characters I like (the strong silent type). Reading about Sean’s development, I definitely agree with the title: Before You Judge. I didn’t like that I found out the major details to Sean story at the very end but I am glad that I know and I am eager to read the Arraignment 3 and the Sentencing
Nako you have done it again!!! I knew the love in my heart for Sean was for a reason. I like how you have brought the underworld full circle through everyone's story. Sean is a Beast, low key and smart. I had my reservations about Jackie still on the fence with her. I love Sean!!! People this is a must read Nako takes you on a unforgettable journey!
She has done it again this book was so good it was a few things in here I didn't see coming...and which one of the wives is talking, poor Lo. Sean is a beast and not ass dumb as Nas thinks he is, I was like Boo and Sammy in this boom also oh boy.!!! If you have not read the underground series please do
I was glad to read this installment and get a little more insight on Sean & Jackie's relationship. I was kinda of iffy on the whole her ex husband was his friend but to now know details we can be cordial. Awaiting Arraignment 3, it's gone be litty. P.S. Nas still ain't SHHHHHH...
Sean didn't get the credit he deserved or the respect the other bosses received. He was a very important part of the underworld. As this series comes to an end, it was good to read his story including his secrets and insecurities. Important follow up other members given. Good connection to the Connect series.
Before You Judge: The Sean 🚗ter Story (The Underworld Book 10)
The Underworld, headed by Nas, is going down now that the Feds are handling the case or will it?! From the top gov't officials, judges, DA's, cops to The WH, everyone has their ✋ in street crime. So, who will be the 🐀...The Arraigment III (Finale of the Underworld) is coming soon and needs to shut it all down.
It usually take me a couple of day to finish a nako book but because I knew that this was the last of the underworld besides the arraignment i took way longer not wanting it to end but it has and it is def a good one I need the next so I can know what the hell is going on
I loved it! I think Sean is my new favorite Underworld member. He has business savvy, street smarts, and a heart of gold. Sean is "the man" and Nasir doesn't even know it. This book was very enlightening as it explains a lot of things I had questions about. This is a must read to understand the Underworld.
Wow Sean really had some demons to work out! He had plenty of opportunities to walk away too but he just wouldn't let it go! I really am ready to see how this all ends! Lauren, real dumb! Somebody is about to do time For real! Story is really deep so far!
