These old timey comics are so wild to me. They're just killing people left right and centre. People are getting shot, thrown and punched to death constantly. It's kind of hilarious.

Dale of the F.B.I.
So first of all, you already saw it, but this characters name is Dale. Dale, as you can see, works for the FBI. He's taking down (can you guess?) Criminals! I am getting kind of tired of the "oh, bad guy escaped prison, now bad guy has kidnapped the daughter of a wealthy oil baron, now go and help, good guy!" that's been like, 75% of these so far. "Stop reading shitty Marvel comics from the '40s", I hear you say. To that I respond with "no". Dale Ofthuffbeeiy.

Breeze Barton in the Miracle City
Much better than Mr. Dale Ofthuffbeeiy, Allied pilot Breeze Barton gets shot down because he's not as good a pilot as he thinks he is. He lands in the magical Mirage City that has existed forever and traps the people stuck inside into immortality. He leads a war party against the other Mirage city, this one full of DEMONS! and then leads a slave revolt against the demons. I kinda liked this one, there was even a Neanderthal man who was treated like a human! That was cool.

The Purple Mask
Yet ANOTHER man with a gimmick mask making that his personality. I didn't care much for this guy, he was kinda boring. Although he did shoot the fuck outta a bunch guys and threw another into acid. All of these heroes are just "Jack Barton; Assistant District Attorney", like that's impressive or intimidating. My favourite part of this is the mystery mansion with a wealth protecting acid moat in the basement.

The Phantom Reporter
Did you not hear what I just said Marvel? This guy is literally billed as "ex-all American fullback, ex-collegiate boxer, wrestling, fencing champ. By day - Cub Reporter, By night - yadda yadda. What a wimp! Even his boss thinks he's a chump! I guess he can punch pretty good though.

Trojak: The Tiger Man
I do think I liked this issue more than our last visit with Trojak. It was less subtle racism and more anti-nazi propaganda, which is good for me since I dislike both racism and Nazis lol. However I didn't like that this devolved into another damsel in distress (they all are so far) it did lead to Trojak kicking some ass. I just wish the huge ass mammalian dragon was in the story more. Also if it was mammalian that "dragon" must be some prehistoric rhino. I care more about him than anything Trojak did.

Marvex: The Super-Robot
This story was... good? I actually really liked it. It's about a robot man created in the fifth dimension to be a slave, but he hates that so he smashes these beings into each other and kills them and then falls to Earth. This part was almost funny as it runs opposite to every other hero so far, where Marvex buys a suit and tie so he can fit in with the regular peeps. Then he protects a woman who's father got 'sploded and gets revenge on the crooks who did that by throwing them into or through walls to kill them which also made me laugh. I didn't expect to like Marvex as much as I did, but what really solidified it was at the end, when he told that girlie that they "can never be more than just friends" cuz like, he's a robot.

Captain Strong of the Foreign Legion
Another war story about Americans going into another country and telling those people they're living wrong. Really not much to say here. At least the Arabian people weren't shown as like, monsters. Which is better treatment than some in these books.

The Medicine Man
Old West, single page, Snake oil salesmen comic. "Dead men tell no tales" indeed.

I enjoyed this issue a lot more than the last. There’s only two stories I didn’t like, the first - Dale, of the FBI. Like, that’s the title of the story? Dave, of McDonalds. Sue, of catering. Steve, of accounting. It’s a nothing burger of a story. The other is the Foreign Legion story, which is just a run-of-the-mill war story.

Otherwise, the stories are good. The least of which is Purple Mask, who is clearly a Batman rip-off. A dude drops into a vat of acid and melts screaming. Yikes.

Phantom Reporter was a great highlight for me. This is clearly a retcon of the previous issue’s Phantom Bullet, where we also have the blue suited, lazy reporter shooting dudes. Now, he has a third alert-ego, a millionaire playboy. This, I dislike. I don’t think it adds anything to the character. His reporter persona is great though, the only one of these Golden Age heroes with an actual personality. Yes, sir.

Marvex is actually… good? I absolutely love the design, an ironworks robot with a very human face, like some kind of statue. The moment he accidentally switches dimensions is… odd, but the fish out of water story always works and seeing this robot man stood on the street in a suit being all incognito is hilarious and satisfying. By far the better robot hero than the rival Electro over at Marvel Mystery Comics.

Then there’s the wackadoodle story of a pilot who crashes into a Mirage city, a city locked in a kind of time hole. It’s pretty fun and weird, a right romp. Then, lastly, Trojak, the Ka-Zar knock off. This one was actually alright, because it has a weird monstrous creature to fight, he works with the native Africans, so they are his equal, and they fight Nazis.

Some typical storylines that seem like rehashes. Trojar, was a different rehash of Kazar but still with a back-lying view of natives. Also another super strength robot. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a precursor for Iron Man. But also some interesting additions. Captain Strong is probably the best one of the bunch. Also the nazis feature in this one which brings history into comics and probably worked as propaganda to teach the kids.
