Bear Chasing
Neil has a crush on the big guy across the road. But someone so masculine wouldn't be gay, would they? And even if they were, they wouldn't be interested in someone like Neil. The guy across the road could only be described as a bear, and Neil? Well, he's skinny, awkward and shy.

This is a short story in the anthology, "A Taste of Honey", which I have read and reviewed.
This story was worth the re-read, because it's cute and educational, and very sexy.
This tale has Neil, who helps his sister by babysitting, and is attracted to the "bears" that moved in across the street. It's sexy, informative and fun.
A first class short tale of a big bear
and a smaller, sweet man !

I loved this but wish it had been longer and more fleshed out. This author is definitely becoming a favorite of mine.

This is a short story so everything happened too fast for my taste. We have a bear and Neil, a geeky twink that realizes he is a bear chaser.

Aww..this is so cute. Short and entertaining. Insta-love was there, and I'm okay with all of those hours counting and how much Brett and Neil wanted each other.
Just knew there are bear chaser and chubby chaser... I need to find some chubby chaser to chase me. Now. LOL.

Wasn't so sure about the Woof business, seems like everyone says it a lot and it's just wierd to me... However, I'm a hetero female with a kink for hot guys, so, not really my scene... It seems like a good way to find out if someone likes you though lol
So, just a short little story about neighbors who find their way together... thrown in with some cute kids and a lot of label explaining!

I’m pretty sure I’ve read this before. The author could have called this An Education on Bears. 🐻 Either way, it’s short and sweet and moves pretty fast. Too fast to be really believable. I forgot how Renae Kaye writes real sex.

After I was able to tear my eyes away from that gorgeous cover, I was treated to 39 pages of a light, humorous, feel good read that helped get me one book closer to finishing my 2017 Reading Challenge (Why did I chose to start off with 100 books? 😩)
Neil, our geeky protagonist, lives with his twin sister and helps her raise his nieces and nephew while programming and obsessing over his bear of a neighbor, Brett.
Brett is a big, bearded man with an interest in dragsters/race cars and is described as a 270 pound bear who is all muscle, tall with wide shoulders, hairy and extremely forward with a filthy mouth. With descriptions like "fat finger, chunky arses, rounded pecs, biceps and guts", it was a delight to read a book with men who are not conventionally attractive and are AUSTRALIAN, including Neil, a skinny boy with glasses.
The attraction between Brett and Neil was instant and Neil's geeky exclamations during sex was cute AF.
Critical mass was approaching rapidly.
My only "issue" was that it wasn't kept as a fun, sexy read. By 77%, there were proclamations of wanting something serious after three meetings and making serious plans down the line. Also, Neil is obssessed with the word manly.
This whole Woof concept was ...interesting. Learnt something new and I'd say if you're looking for a short, funny, insta love, steamy read about a man discovering he's a bear chaser, this is the book for you.

September 11, 2018I enjoyed this romance between neighbors; there were several moments that cracked me up, and it felt like a respectful engagement with bear culture, if slightly infodumpy on occasion. The geeky MC is into bears but knows nothing about bear culture, and gets a crash course from the chubby bear love interest, while beginning to fall for the neighbor he's been crushing on. It has cute kids too, as the MC is co-parenting his sister's kids with her. There's a bit of pushiness from the bear character, but it felt right for bear culture, in my experience of it, and didn't make me uncomfortable as a reader. I generally liked the chubby rep, thought it matched bear culture in my experience of it, with one exception: I wish the author had not listed the exact weight of the bear love interest.

Oh short stories. My bittersweet love affair with you continues. It's my cross to bear. Why is that I find so many good short stories? I want to spend time with these characters. Get to know their quirks and unique qualities both good and bad. And then they're ripped away with only 38 pages of time together.
This story is a delight. Both sweet and funny with a dash of hot to keep it interesting. Like my favorite dish of Indian food, it had all the bear necessities I needed for a tasty treat.
My biggest complaint is that I didn't get enough. There really wasn't anything that happened other than the romance and so no real character development. I was able to enjoy the story regardless, but I know some would grin and bear it through the minimal plot.
Overall, this story is better than your average bear. ;)

If you are looking for a short, sexy, and sweet romance then look no further. Brett is a sweet bear of a guy and Neil is a backward nerdy guy who happens to be a bear chaser. Brett moves in across the street from Neil. With the help of a baby and a couple of cute four year olds the guys get to meet. Its cute and funny with a full cast of snarky sarcastic characters who will have you smiling, laughing, and fanning yourself. I am proud to say I'm a big beat lover and I'm with Neil on wanting to catch one.
