Quickie Review- May contain spoilers, fair warning upon reading the review
Fury of Denial is the third installment and this is my favorite dragon for our hero. He is delightful. Although his book didn't quite live up to expectations. I was slightly disappointed on that a bit. It was still an enjoyable story. I loved the pairing for these two though. Our heorine is a native woman from France who is a pastry chef. And our hero, loves pastries especially anything with lemon. They instantly bond when rebel dragons have come hunting them and working with their clan they find ways to battle their enemy.
I really had a fun time with many aspects of this story. It also delivered on some solid feels and it was so interesting seeing how the author created this story and developed this relationship. I couldn't quite connect to this couple but I did appreciate the intense moments of feels that this author delivers. So having a fun time with this series and still going strong. Now the issue that I had with this one is I did want a bit more depth happening from the romance. It just could have bit a bit stronger than what is delivered on this one here.
This is the third novella in the Scotland Dragonfury series and I enjoyed it, but it suffered from length. Things happened quickly and while I can accept the mating, I prefer a slower, lengthier approach to allow me to connect. I still had a good time and even picked up the first audiobook in the full-length series.
Dragon warrior Wallaig has spent half a century wanting revenge on the rogue faction who blinded him. When they return to Scotland and set their eyes on a young female, he steps in to save her.
Amantha Leblanc is a pastry chef and dreams of owning her own shop. Wallaig breaks into her apartment to defend her and Amantha attacks with a rolling pin. Did I mention Wallaig has a sweet-tooth and Amantha is sassy? I loved their interaction. The back-and-forth banter had me smiling.
It turns out Amantha is a high energy female and wouldn’t you know it, his mate. With the enemy circling, Amantha must decide if she will let this dragon warrior defend her. Passion, food talk and bringing her to the Scotland lair kept me listening.
Felicity Munroe once again narrates and provides unique voices for the characters. Her pacing, lilt and tone make listening enjoyable.
I liked this story. Both characters were good and I love this series so I will absolutely continue with some of my favorite dragon guys. But! This one had a lot of editing issues that bothered me quite a bit. They pulled me out of the story sometimes. So, three plus novella stars. Happy reading!
Ending to the Scottish pack series . . . Or is it?
3.8 Stars
I actually really liked this book, although it felt a little rushed. It quickly got to the point although I think I would've like more dialogue between Amantha and Wallaig. But all in all an EXCELLENT story.
While i’m enjoying this series and getting to meet more of the dragon pack, I do wish that the books were a little bit longer. By the time I get into the story and start to fall for the characters, I feel like it’s reaching the pinnacle of the excitement, and then the story comes to an end. But that being said, I have bought the entire series, so I’m excited to continue with it and see more of the dragon pack interactions.
Blind dragon warrior, Wallaig, rescues Elise's best friend and pastry chef, Amantha as the evil rogue pack of dragons closes in, Wallaig is alone against 9 dragons. Will Wallaig and Amantha become lovers or enemies.
It’s a wild and fast ride, all the greatest bits of the Dragonfury series just a lot faster. The Baddy is as awful as they get I hope he gets taken out soon.
Wallaig can feel the emotional pain that Elise is going through about disappearing on her friend. Cyprus won't let her contact Amaranth so she writes what she wants to say to her in letters. When Wallaig finds them he decides to sneak into Amaranth's apartment and leave the letters. Well everything falls apart when she is awake cooking instead of sleeping at three in the morning. Wallaig also realizes that she is a high energy female. Un the meantime, Grizgunn the enemy dragon, searched and found Elise's address. Since she was Amaranth's roommate, the enemy is surrounding Wallaig and Amaranth. There is some adventure to be had in this book along with romance. I definitely wanted more story, but I always do when reading the Dragonfury series. I love this series and don't want to stop reading. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoy dragon shifter books!
I enjoyed this book, first I love Wallaig since the beginning, he’s a strong warrior and his blindness doesn’t have any impact on it, he just sees another way. Also, he has a humour kind of special and like to tease everybody but especially his friend’s mates.
His encounter with Amantha is caused by his big and kind heart, as he wants to help Elise who’s struggling with her secret. Amantha is surprised by the arrival of this big man in the middle of the night. One of the most amazing things is that she’s the one who connects to his mind first. However, incoming troubles shortened presentation and learning about each other.
I think my favorite moment is when Wallaig just arrived in the apartment, starts eating the pastries, and just asks her if she has any tea, Earl Grey would be perfect 😂
Again, I enjoyed this book. Each Scottish Dragon warrior have such unique personalities. To have a love of a true mate is so enticing and never boring. Two lonely but emerging personalities where each thought the other did not exist but would find each other in extra ordinary circumstances. The warrior trying to please his commander's mate by communicating with her best friend; never realizing he would also meet his own destined mate.I
Again the author displays her skill at characterization and her descriptive style and keen sense of locations. The author is very familiar with the Scottish coastline and people. Most times I truly felt like I was in Scotland.
It's review time 🎧 Warning ⚠️: part of a series, standalone, fantasy, shifters, paranormal.
Narrator score🎧 ; felicity did a great job I liked her performance and it was very good... she did well with the other books as well
Level of steam🔥: the book is hot for the length if it.... and the book isn't long at all... you have some steam in here
Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: I can't say the book was sad... it had the same ora like in the previous books ... and it wasn't sad.
The book itself📖: I think the book isn't bad overall... for the length of it and for the story it was good.... I liked it . Could it be better? I think it could but then it should be longer and woth more depth... and not all books need it.
Another great short story in the Scotland Dragonfury series. I really like Wallaig in the previous books so was glad that he was up next. As expected with a novella, it was really fast paced and insta-love/connection, which I'm usually not a huge fan of but I love this author and will read any Dragonfury book she publishes. Wallaig was so swoon worthy and I really cant fault him and I'm happy to say that Amantha was certainly a worthy mate, someone who was brave and took to lair life with ease. The ending was a little abrupt but otherwise a great addition to the series. Really looking forward to the next one.
I think Wallaig might be my favorite Scottish dragon so far! He is very sweet, a big softie. Amantha was Elise's roommate and best friend. She is also a pastry chef which is lucky since these dragons seem to have a sweet tooth. Wallaig goes against Cyprus's orders to stay away from Amantha when he shows up with letters for her from Elise. As fate would have it Amantha is s high energy female and instantly Wallaig's dragon is hooked. Trouble is never far away as Grizgunn and his pack have surrounded Amantha's apartment.
The DragonFury series is one of the few series of books that I read over and over again and each new addition to it ensures that I’ll continue to do so. Fury of Denial in no way disappointed! A fast-paced bit of insta-love, this Scottish Pack novella keeps you grounded in the world of Dragonkind with a peek of what it’s like for the good guys who aren’t necessarily part of the Night Fury Pack. A great book! Has me anxious for the next book, whichever side of the Atlantic it is on.
The story about Waleig and Amantha was good as usual ( love this series) but my goodness Coreene find a better proof reader! There was more misplaced words; her instead of his and more. Sentence structure and no words where there should be. Sorry! But the book is still a good addition to the series! I'm starting really dislike Grizgunn he's really a smart evil dragon 🐉.
Though rather exciting, this could work as a decent bed - time story. It is short enough not to keep one awake all night reading, even has some hot romance for pleasant dreams. But the action may add drama to those dreams. So your choice of day time reading or before bed. This is fast paced. However, the villain still remains unvarnished. The epilogue sets us up for another story. I look forward to reading it, when ever it comes out. Soon I hope.
The formula works on this author's books but the main story always seems to drag. I hope this series catches up with the Nightfury books soon but it seems this author doesn't know how she's going to wrap things up. That's disappointing and I hope I'm wrong. It would be awesome if she wrapped those up and continued with these characters in a new plotline. Unfortunately, few authors do that. Once everyone has a mate the stories mostly end. Darn it!
WOW, this series that's tied to the original is awesome!
This book was artfully crafted and uniquely designed to pull you into the storyline of the characters and experience everything with them and pull your emotions out to the beat of each hero that finds his mate!!!
This book is just as great as all the previous ones? It holds your attention from beginning to end with enough action and drama to keep you on the edge of your seat? The steamy hot love scenes are five stars that don't take over the storyline with awesome characters. A must read series and waiting anxiously for the next book.
Wallaig, a blind dragon and Amantha's story. With Amantha being a talented pastry chef, the pair definitely sparkle in this instalment of the Scottish Dragon Fury series.
There is drama, and life and death situations galore. On a down side, I wish the kindle editions had been proofed a little more before the publish key had been hit.
Great pace to story line that kept you excited to see how it ends. The friend left behind gets a visit and just before the Danish dragon pack descend to capture her. Lots of close calls, bravery required, and a happy reunion with a dash of expected surprise. Great follow up to the series.
As always Coreene tells the adventure of a Dragon pack. This is her third story of the Scottish pack including a baker a blinded dragon. The only disappointing portion was less characterisation of Wallig than usual in her stories.
Another look at the life of dragonkind. Fast paced and thrilling. The author brings all the stories together with each next chapter. Love and lovers. Friend and foe. Fly high and strong my warriors, for tomorrow your enemy gets a little closer.
I'm wondering if they will find his brother before he gets hurt or is killed. I was hoping they had killed the rogues. Oh well makes waiting for the next book that much better.
I gave it four stars because I love the dragon series. The Scottish ones do not disappoint at all. I am loving this series as much as the others. I love Amantha and Walllag's story, so glad she ends up back with her best friend.
Absolutely love the Dragonfury series. It's full of adventure, excitement and of course hot and sexy dragons. You can't help but wish you could find one of your own.
No Shakespeare here but a very short novella with set ups but no conclusion. A little disappointing. This author's pro is development of characters; her downside is repetitive language
This series feels too rushed and there is no real camaraderie built between the dragonkind warriors. I was never able to care about the characters in the books. They were to bland. The overall plot had good potential.
