The only thing standing between this fallen angel and redemption? The woman he loves.

Eons ago, Seth fell for another angel--literally--and was cast down from the Heavens. Seeking redemption, he works for the Angels of Death, taking the lives of those destined to die, his only desire to return home. But everything changes when a beautiful brunette explodes into his life and plunges his ordered world into chaos, tempting him with something he hasn't experienced in millennia. Love.

A busted radiator strands Lyndi Garrison on a deserted stretch of coastal Maine and shoves her directly into the path of a sexual predator. She fends off her attacker until an NFL-sized stranger appears from the darkness to help. She's instantly enamored of her quiet hero, and before the evening ends, they share a devastating kiss and a knock-out round of sex unlike anything she's ever known. Though she can't help but wonder...

Has she finally received a second chance at happiness? Or is Fate being a bitch again?

Brandi Evans was raised by a caravan of traveling Gypsies. She spent her days learning the ways of her people and her nights lost in legends as old as time. Okay, not really, but that's way more interesting than the truth!

In reality, Brandi grew up the oldest child of an ordinary family. Grade school, middle school, high school. Nothing extraordinary happened until she left the nest. She joined the military, went to college, got married, and became a mom. And somewhere along the way, she discovered she liked to read—and write!—stories hot enough to melt eReaders.

Heroine starts off as so strong and in control and then the minute the hero leaves her apartment, she becomes a basket-case who tries to throw herself off a lighthouse. Yes, I know. The "demon" was working her magic and playing mind games with the heroine, to get the hero "the angel" to do as she bid but the heroine went from "I can handle anything to Ohmigod, everyone hates me so it's best if I killed myself." Overdramatic, much?

Tempted is one of those books you don’t expect; to understand my reaction to it might be better placed if I start with some context. I began reading this book last week after learning my husband’s grandmother, whose health had faded dramatically over the last two years, had passed away.

I really enjoyed the quiet, thoughtful bits of solace I’ve stolen in Ms. Evans touching novel about a disgraced angel working his way back to salvation. We meet Seth, who became classified as a fallen angel when love steered his priorities from the Divine. He has since taken up with the Angels of Death as—for lack of a better word—a staffer who does the dirty work. Seth encounters the foul-mouthed, wounded Lyndi Garrison on one of his assignments, and intervenes against his better judgment to save her from a cruel fate.

I’ve read a good number of erotic paranormal romances that take on religious themes, and they tend to exceed my expectations every time. While Tempted is no exception, it felt like a different sort of paranormal from the get-go—intertwining both hotter-than-you-know-what sexual encounters with well rounded characters whose emotional connection, while rushed, never seems forced, making for a thrilling erotic read.

However, the erotic element—while truly spicy—wasn’t what I took away from the novel. For me, the underlying themes were sacrifice, courage, and recovery. If you’re looking for a read with evolved characters, depth, and let’s face it, seriously hot sex, this is the book for you.

Well, Tempted by Brandi Evans was a complete surprise to me, not because it was my first read by this author, but because is was a) a paranormal erotic romance, b) instead of being about shifters, vampires, and werewolves, it was about a fallen angel, and c) it hooked me immediately and kept me reading until 5:00 a.m.. As always happens when I am hooked on a book, my only complaints are that I wish it has been a lengthier read, and I felt there was an overabundance of the "f" word used, and for those reasons, it gets 4.5 stars from this reader, rather than 5.

Tempted, being my first paranormal read about angels, brought to mind one of my all-time favorite films, City of Angels, because the hero in this novel is Seth, a fallen angel trying to redeem his heavenly status by working for the Angels of Death, and when we first meet him, he's about to follow orders and send a serial rapist and murderer to hell, but according to the rules, he must do so alone, with no witnesses. He's ready to do his job when he notices a lovely but potty-mouthed lady whose car has overheated and broken down in a parking lot, and the serial rapist he's supposed to send to hell is stalking her. Surprisingly to Seth, Lyndi is perfectly capable of taking care of herself since she teaches martial arts/self-defense classes for women and makes short work of her stalker, although she's not completely out of danger, since her car isn't working and she doesn't have her cell phone with her. Violating the rules governing his existence, Seth makes himself visible to Lyndi, helps get her car on the road, and she invites him to the family dinner at her parents home that evening--and being so physically drawn to her, Seth accepts her offer.

To Lyndi, Seth, who tells her he's a vacationing cop, is overwhelmingly gorgeous, 6'9" tall and ruggedly built. The attraction between these two begins to sizzle from their first meeting, and again, although it's forbidden, that sizzle turns into a blazing couple of incredibly steamy and graphic encounters, but there are other fallen ones out to do Lyndi harm out of sheer spite and evil, and as the heat rises, so too does the life and death battle between Seth and the evil fallen ones, because at stake is Lyndi's life, her soul, and Seth's hope for redemption.

There were a number of things I liked about this title, the first being that it was non-denominational, and the second being Ms. Evans' two leading characters, Lyndi, who'd suffered real tragedy in her past, and Seth, who was just learning what it was like to be human--to feel connected, physically and emotionally, to another human being, and to risk everything for love. I only wish that the novel had been longer because I would have loved to seen what the the future of these two characters was like, a year or more down the road.

Since this in the first novel in a series, I can't wait to see what's next, but be forewarned, there is quite a bit of graphic sex in this novel, and other triggers like attempted rape, the loss of a child, depression and suicidal thoughts, so if these are triggers for you, read something else. As for this reader, this was a quick, exciting, sexy and emotional read, and I'm happy to recommend it.

So, this was a bit of a first for me - and a happy virginal moment it was too. I’m heavily into my erotic romance genre, and very aware there are many many sub genres within that, but I have definitely been going for the same Alpha/Dom style storylines up to now.

I knew Angel stories were out there - but thought they might be a bit ‘pure’ for me, I guess it’s fairly obvious that we’d think that right! And yes, the delicious Seth really is a good guy, so much so he doesn’t realise just how good he is himself. And again yes, the fabulously foul mouthed Lyndi had her own demons to be slayed, but for me this book was about saving Seth - refreshing.

On a personal level, I really really enjoyed the spiritual elements of Angels/Demons/fallen. I get a great sense of comfort from feeling that there is something more, something looking out for us all, of redemption and keeping score. So this was a win-win for me in now involved I felt in the storyline.

A light, fairly quick read with some rather delicious sex scenes, this was a great way to spend a few hours. The characters were warm and inviting, there was no angsty ‘will they/won’t they’ or ‘love/hate’. Their relationship was intense and enveloping from the get go, and somehow I found that comforting, like wrapping myself in my favourite cosy blanket.

Definitely looking forward to reading more from Brandi Evans

Tempted is a nice hot quick read. Seth is a Fallen Angel currently working as an Angel of Death. He is stalking his next victim, a filthy rapist, when he spots Lyndi Garrison stranded in the same area as he was and his assignment has set his sights on her. She proceeds to kick his tail and almost get away but Seth is drawn to the woman and is determined she is not harmed. He accompanies her to a family gathering and has broken all kinds of Angel rules by revealing himself to Lyndi and her family. He promptly breaks some more rules when they get it on in a mind blowing way for both of them. He can’t seem to stay away from her and has put her in even more danger when his ex Fallen Angel girlfriend puts her on the death list. He has to save her but will he be willing to do what is asked of him?

This book will challenge everything you thought you knew about angels but keep reminding yourself that it's a fantasy. Bearing that in mind, this is a sizzling hot romance that you'll not soon forget, all wound up in the power of love and the need to protect those we love, as well as what we are willing to give up for the ones we love. Although both the angel and the woman swear more than I think that God would care for, this is a front-to-back, can't put it down, don't drink anything because a bathroom break takes too long, thriller that will keep you riveted.

Seth is a fallen angel that works with the Angel of Death to take people's souls. He is ready to take the soul of the serial rapist when he sees Lyndi. He feels he must protect her, so he takes on a human body to do so. Lyndi is a strong woman who says what she thinks. There is a strong connection between Seth and Lyndi. What happens when an angel falls in love? The religious view of angels and demons is brought to life here. They fall in love, but can a human and an angel find a way to be together?

Seth is a fallen angel who, on a mission for the Angels of Death, sees Lyndi in danger and he rescues her. Their relationship is quick and passionate. He is blackmailed into saving Lyndi again when she is threatened by dark forces, and he chooses good over evil. He chooses Lyndi.
The story moves fast. The whole book takes place over just a few days, but they fall in love and end up with an HEA. I definitely recommend.
