“That's your fault, how many times you forgiven me? How was I to know that you was plain sick of me? I know the way a nigga's livin’ was whack But you don't get a nigga back like that!”- Jay-Z, Song Cry After getting her heart stomped on for the 1000th time, Emory “Stone” Mercer, made it her mission to stay far, far away from the person who nearly destroyed her - her ex, Xavier. She thought that leaving the state that she loved and pursuing a life she hated would be just what her young life needed to keep her promise to herself…and her sister. While away at school, Stone realizes that she needs a weekend away to re-evaluate her goals. She's excited to go back to the place she calls home and clear her mind. It's been months since she’s checked back in on the people that mean the most to her older sister, Leilani, “brother”, Malakhi, and best friend, Mercy. With slight weariness, Stone wonders how much trouble a weekend of partying could really cause. Is she tripping, or will a quick weekend getaway threaten everything she's worked so hard to forget?

This author did a great job painting a vivid picture of the characters. You will find you said mad and happy all at the same time. Can't wait to read an update on these characters.
I was hooked from the very beginning up to the very end and I can't wait to start the next book. I LOVED the characters in this series. Stone, Lei, Malakhi, Mercy, Naeem, Naliah and Samir can stay but I don't care what happens to the rest of them. Xavier was at one time a favorite character, but the way he went about things was wrong on so many levels. The truth will always come to light. Slowly it's revealed what was actually said and what happened between Xavier and Stone in the past. Even though I don't hate Xavier after everything was revealed, I'm on the fence when it comes to him. This story was filled with laugh out loud moments and moments that will have you smiling. It's steamy and full of great characters but it will also have you wanting to shake a few of them. It's my first book from this author and I will definitely be recommending this one to family and friends.
When I tell you that this a good book ....this is a darn good book...I need Stone to get it together...I hope she end up with Naeem...This book was very well written....I look forward to reading Part 2....
This book has the makings of being a banger but it just never got there . In all fairness I stopped at 30% because I just couldn’t read another page of it
This story caught my attention and I found myself thinking about what I would do in the main character's shoes. It included complex characters and the street element many readers enjoy. I look forward to part 2!
Enjoying this read so far. I feel bad for Stone right now. Xavier did her so wrong and she's real,y hurt. I'm hoping Naeem can get her to let down that wall and let him love her
I’m just hanging on my seat like what’s gonna happen next? I read this in a few hours because I couldn’t put it down. Love it! I hope Stone doesn’t go back to Xavier, he damn sure doesn’t deserve her. On to the next part!
This my first read by author and I couldn’t put it down. Samir, Naeem and Khoi can have get it all. They rough around the edges and just soft enough. I hope Stone is okay. Not sure about Xavier though.
Xavier really messed up when he was trying to do the right thing. There is no coming back from this. I like Naaem. I think he is too advanced for Stone. We will see. I am proud of Khi for stepping away from the game. You did a great job 👏
Stone really needs to grow up.... yes she's young but dang, stop making the same mistakes. I like Naeem he's very mature so let's see what happens next.
This is my first read from this author and I must say I'm very impressed! I found myself relating to each character. I fell in love with Stone and Zay's relationship, then I fell in love with the character of Mercy. The sex scenes in this book are bomb tooo!!! Eager for part 2...
Intriguing storyline while it's not fast paced it reads like a good movie that each new part your holding your breath waiting to see what happens next. Excellent read can't wait for what's next.
I literally read this book in four hour's and yet it didn't feel rushed at all! It was great from start to finish, the characters were so easy to connect to that I felt real tears. Im just hoping Naeem can come to save the day.
This story had quite a few characters and a lot of subplots going on. I could never actually pin down what Naeem Black, Malachi and Samir did for a living. A lot of things were alluded to but nothing concrete. Stone and the inssesant drug usage was almost too much. I know it's art imitating life, but this story glorified it a bit too much for me.I did lots of skimming through those parts. A good read if you follow the urban verbage.
This book was so good. Beginning to end. I grew to love ALMOST every character in this book. Lol. The story and the relationships in this story are incredibly believable and relatable. I'm so glad the next installment is already available.
