Okay, so I can't believe this is happening, but... I didn't love this.
I lurrrrrrved Shaw and his crew from the first book in the series. Like, book boyfriend level love. We meet Constantine in the first book and he is essentially the leader of the English faction of pirates. He and Shaw had a great camaraderie in their scenes together and I was really looking forward to learning more about how the bastard son of a king could possibly find himself a plundering pirate.
But Leader of Titans didn't deliver on my expectations. This is a historical romance but I personally didn't feel the romance between the lead characters at all. In fact, I barely liked the lead characters. Their first (and only that I remember) sex scene was not romantic. It felt rushed and I felt like the Gregoria (heroine) was coerced. This is such a massive departure from the connection between Shaw and Jane in the first book that it really affected my enjoyment of the rest of the story.
I also felt like much of the action/fighting happened off page and from the wrong POV for the moment. My favorite parts of this book were the scenes where Shaw was present and I did enjoy the genuine moments of brotherhood among the pirates.
I 100% plan to continue with this series, but I'm hoping to connect better with some of the other upcoming couples. Both Thor and Lucifer are interesting leads so I can't wait to see how they handle meeting their match.

Constantine le Breque, fearsome pirate and bastard son of a king is sailing the seas with a giant target on his back. His enemies have clued in to his biggest weakness and fashioned a Delilah just for his Samson.
Lady Gregoria just wants a little house by the sea with a garden. If doing her brother's bidding will get her what she most desires so be it.
Kathryn Le Veque has penned a rollicking ride of a sea tale. The story is chocked full of nautical research. Familiar family names abound. True Le Veque fans will recognize them and sigh. Newcomers will enjoy the adventure and swashbuckling fun.
These pirates don't mind getting down and dirty, but they also retain a bit of their knightly training. A very little bit.
This new series with its seafaring heroes and the women who love them is truly worth the read. I devoured it and enjoyed every minute of it. But what happened to Vivienne and Genevieve? Dare I hope that they will soon be reunited with their precious pups? I sure hope so!
I received an ARC of this lovely book from the author. This review reflects my honest opinion of this work.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋 Second in the Pirate Lords Of Britannia:Lords Of the Sea series. Hard to put this book down once you start , the story just flows to reveal a wonderful Man and a downtrodden Lady , who find love and adventure not only on the high seas ,but avoiding the Earl Of Marches army .
Loved every minute of it can’t wait for the next one ,The Sea Devil by Eliza Knight
A Series Where Pirate Scots and English Actually Look Out For Themselves!
This is a series written by well-loved authors. Eliza Knight is known for her Scottish Historical Romances, while Kathryn Le Veque is known for Medieval Historical Romances. Here the authors have taken to the seas. The series begins with the focus on pirates of the Scottish ilk in book one, Savage of the Sea. We learn there is a strong connection between Shaw MacDougall, the Scot leader of The Devils of the Deep, and the hero of Book two, Constantine Le Breque. Constantine has his training as a knight, but has rarely picked up his sword. Frankly, he’s been running for his life and feels safest on the seas. He’s a savvy ship captain, trained by the best shortly after he was knighted. He seems to have a grudge against the world. Being born the bastard of the king, he is in line to become king, something he’d never want, but those who prefer another outcome are eager to take him out of the running.
He keeps his men happy, well cared for by plundering and pirating, and lives in a modicum of luxury. He hasn’t thought much about right or wrong, but one little lady, Lady Greggoria “Gregg” de Moyon, has a large impact on him, blinding his better instincts to question and analyze. She also has him questioning his way of life. We witness the softer side of a pirate. They have their own honor among themselves.
His fiercest friend? Shaw MacDougall. It’s a friendship based on respect, admiration of skill, honed by battle saving each other’s hides. This is a rare friendship—one that both can count on; the story aptly shows us how deep the friendship is. In fact, Constantine is also very close to his men, particularly Augustin and Lucifer. Both are knights with their own tales. So here we have it. Knights reduced to plundering and killing, on sea most of the time or back at Perran Castle, Constantine’s hold, surrounded by water. The French pirates (The Water Bearers) and Spaniard pirates (Demons of the Sea) are enemies to both Shaw and Constantine. Side note: The French pirates are just plain ruthless, disgustingly so.
Gregg has her own set of problems. As women of that time, she’s manipulated with little choice to the direction of her life. Gregg’s brother is working with someone close to the king who wants Constantine dead. She is sent to convince him to help her in a plan, one where Constantine will be the loser. If she succeeds, her brother will provide a cottage for her and means to live quietly. She’ll do what she’s told, not liking how she’s used, but her payment will steer her free and clear of her wicked brother.
Gregg isn’t expecting to be attracted to Constantine. He just wants to plunder her curvaceous body. Heck, he’s a pirate, right? He gets what he wants, but Gregg provides much more for him. As you know, life and its danger are in the journey. You’ll wonder how Constantine can be so blind. You’ll wonder if Constantine’s men can keep him safe – for they aren’t under the spell of the lovely Gregg.
There are many aspects of the story I really like. The battles at sea are exciting. A rather fierce battle takes place in a tavern, well written, keeps me on edge, as the story coils tighter and tighter. Le Veque’s style of writing provides the reader with all the ingredients to an entertaining, action-packed read.
Book three, The Sea Devil, written by author Eliza Knight is now available on pre-order. I’m eager to begin this one since Constantine has recently gifted Shaw an awe-inspiring ship, sure to draw the attention of greedy pirates.
What an exceptional story! I normally do not read about Pirates but because of these two authors that are really good in their own genres, I wanted to take a chance. I am thrilled that I did because now I am hooked on this Pirates of Britannia Series. At first I didn't know how this would work because we have two great authors and they take turns writing a story in their new Pirate series. Eliza Knight writes about the Scottish Pirates and Kathryn Le Veque writes about the English Pirates, which form the alliance and Brotherhood of the Pirates of Britannia. The authors take turns writing the stories. The stories flow seamlessly which keeps the reader wanting to continue on to the next one. It is a great concept when you have two great authors that can make it work.
This is Book 2 in the series and it is Constantine le Brecque's story. He is the leader of his band of pirates. He also has quite a history. He is a former English Knight turned pirate, one who is very handsome, cunning and a rogue among women. Danger is always lurking.
Greggoria de Moyon appears literally on Constantine's doorstep. She has come to seek his assistance. She is a beautiful woman, one that Constantine might not able to resist.
There is action, passion and several laugh out loud moments that I thoroughly enjoyed. All of the secondary characters are great. And we get to know the characters that will be forthcoming with stories of their own.
I can't wait for the next stories in this new Pirate series.
Constantine le Breque is the Commander of Poseidon's Legion, pirates all. He is also the bastard son of King Henry V. The current King of England's successor, Edward, the Earl of March, wants Con dead because he is a very real threat to his succession. Through intimidation and threats, Lady Gregoria, posing as the daughter of Con's murdered quartermaster, is persuaded to lure Con to Three Crosses Abbey where Edward's army will be waiting to ambush and kill Con.
I am not really a pirate gal, but I read the first book "Savage of the Sea" by Eliza Knight and enjoyed it. Ms. Knight wrote about Scottish pirates of the Lords of the Sea saga. Ms. Le Veque picks up with the English pirate side of these entertaining books. Things move along quite quickly in this book, but it was a satisfying story. I am looking forward to future books involved characters that were previously introduced in the first two books. Two talented authors writing about pirates for a change, while maintaining their specialties (Scots and English knights, respectively) was a bold move but a successful one. Very entertaining!
This wonderful story, a stand alone novel, is the second in a trilogy; a series about pirates! In this tale, Gregoria and Constantine meet because aring goid romance! is sent by her brother to lure Constantine into a trap that could lead to his demise. Gregoria is a simple girl, she just wants to be left alone in her own little cottage with a pet or two of her own. She can have this if she betrays Constantine but if not, she will suffer an ugly fate. Constantine is a leader of men, pirates, and he is charismatic, fearless, and yet more. Gregoria begins to see Constantine as a man, and begins to fall for him. Can she betray him and send him to his death? Could she live with herself? Will she live at all if she doesn’t? The story has pirate battles, humor, lust and romance as well as some pretty interesting ship lingo and descriptions. It was a rip roaring good romance! I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy some action and intrigue with their hea. Who knew pirates were such fun?
The Leader if the Titans is Book two of The Pirates of Brittania, and takes place during and around the same time as Savage of the Sea. The Leader of the Titans is the story of Constantine Le Breque, the bastard son of the English King, Henry. The Savage of the Sea is about the Scottish pirate counterpart of Constantine. Kathryn LeVeque is a master storyteller who incorporates amazing detail into the development of her characters making them stand out in the readers mind as if they were in fact real. One of the things I love about these books is that the characters are given real emotions, doubt, suspicion, hope, love and forgiveness. The reader becomes immersed in the characters, their motivation and what makes them who they are. This is yet another example of how much of herself Kathryn pours into her books. I didn’t want to put it down until the end. I fell in love with The character Lucifer as well. Truly hope he has a story soon. Fantastic book! Could be stand alone, but I would suggest reading them in order.
Constantine le Brecque is a pirate who has claimed a huge chunk of the coastline around Cornwall and Wales as his personal territory. His to harvest as he sees fit. He also has family connections that will cause him big problems. He is an expert at making enemies. Lady Gregoria de Moyon has been bullied by her brother into persuading Constantine to go somewhere he can be captured. Our hero is a typical pirate with all the arrogance and violence that come with his chosen profession. He also has a strong bond to his brothers in arms. Our heroine is a brave but foolish young lady, in well over her head. An exciting all action story with marvelous characters. It is part of a series but easily read on it's own. Hopefully we will get to meet some of the characters in their own stories later in the series.
I really enjoyed this book! I have always loved Knights and Pirates and this book is the best of both. Constantine is known as the fearsome English pirate called LEADER OF TITANS, but his experience with his ex-lover wasn't enough to drive him away from women. He loves them, and loves them in droves. Passion, plunder, and pirates his is motto. When he meets Greggoria he is immediately attracted to her. This was a fun story to read. I enjoyed the interaction between Constantine and Greggoria. I loved that Shaw from Savage of the Sea was in the book also. It made it fun. I would definitely recommend this book.
Constantine le Brecque, illegitimate son of a King, is a man totally embracing his inner and outer Pirate. The opening scene is an eye opener as to the extent of his actions to obtain what he wants, when he wants. Meeting a damsel in distress, he is captivated by her and her story. He agrees to assist her-against the wishes of his crew. The crew is right to be suspicious. Lady Greggoria (Gregg) is determined to remove herself from her brother's rule. But, she must do one thing for him and his friend. Fortunately for us, it is a very well written story of betrayal, love and loyalty.
It wasn't as good as the first book book especially when it came to Con making love to Gregoria ( Gregg). Come on, on the ship, Con flips up her dress in the cabin and afterwards when he's pulling up his pants he noticed some blood. He kind of hmmm's it with a "must be her monthly courses or surely not her being a virgin" and it's never addressed again. That wasn't funny but it made me laugh to myself because of the stupidity of it. Could of be done much better. Lost interest in it about one half through, just not enough there.
POSSIBLE SPOLIERS: . . . . . . I just think that Constantine deserved a better, longer, more detailed story that included details about their relationship after the big reveal. And speaking of the big reveal, I cannot believe that Gregg waited until the last possible moment to reveal her deception. Like, REALLY?!?!!! She has all these feelings for him but allows him to continue to walk right into danger like a stupid dumbass. Then after thinking on it for all of a minute, he’s all okay with it......? I enjoyed the first book (Shaw and Jane’s story) much more than this one.
Great story written by Kathryn Le Veque. This is a series that she is writing with Eliza Knight on pirates. This story is about Constantine and Gregoria and how Gregoria was going to betray Con by leading him into a trap so that his half brother could kill him. Con is the result of King Henry and a lady from court. I enjoyed reading this story and can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series .
May be I hoped too much after reading Savage of the Sea ( book 1 of Pirates of Brittania ) but I never thought book 2 will be a total rubbish. Naive pirate leader fooled by selfish hypocritical heroine and very forgiving first mate of pirate ship who didn't fulfill his own threat , solf-hearted quartermaster and clueless pirate crews. I mean how can that be a notorious frightening pirate gangs? Anyway I take it may be because they are pompous English instead of fearsome Scottish pirates.
This story seems like it was written just for the money. It didn’t have the usual character development I appreciate from Kathryn LeVeque‘s normal length novels. Constantine and his brethren had potential but the book was too short to get there.
A LOVE based on lies. A women forced by her vengeful brother to decieve a feared pirate goes in with a plan to his demise. Soon she t realizes her brother had lied and she starts to form a lust filled attraction to the pirate she is leading to an ambush. Filled with humor, feared truths and forgiveness.
Another fabulous tale from one of the best romance authors. Constantine is a fearsome pirate who falls to his weakness, a lovely lady. She is a plant to lure him to his death, but can she overcome her weakness for him? Great story!!
No time to waste. A plot to trap and kill the king's bastard son, also traps the young woman used as bait. Once she meets Constantine she is torn between her fear and her love. An action packed book that moves very quickly to will she or won't she for an HEA.
This is my first time reading a Le Veque book of pirates. While it is a good story of us not on par with her tales of knights and their ladies. I will most probably finish this series, but I'm already missing my gallant heroes and their castles!
