I've only read a few of the Misadventures books but this one is my favorite so far. It was written at a really good pace for these characters, and had just enough heat to keep me intrigued but not so much that the smexiness took over the story. I liked that we got to see Piper and Jackson grow closer together without their own problems keeping them apart. Even Jackson the commitment-phobe couldn't deny that he needed Piper in his life.
There were some issues that I had near the end that made me like Piper a little less but I got over them quickly and the book ended on a good note for me. It's definitely one I would recommend and if you're new to this author it would be a great introduction to her writing.

I don’t know why I haven’t availed myself of this talented scribe’s works before, but this was my inaugural outing with the delightful Ms. Kendall Ryan. Where have I been? I smirked and gasped my way through this deliciously steamy, highly amusing, and enticingly clever tale of a good girl finding her mojo on a new job with her cranky and demanding boss, a difficult to please yet sexy powerhouse of a boss who found himself similarly distracted and preoccupied with his super efficient and beautiful new assistant. The characters were smart, endearing, and well nuanced, I adored them. Ms. Ryan’s writing style was crisp, vibrant, and breezily engaging. I promptly added her to the top of my list as a new favorite; the stalking will now commence.

Piper is extremely smart and turns out to be a great assistant and a big help to Jackson and the attraction between them does not die down, they end up having some very steamy situations. The chemistry is undeniable and the book is a good one.

The stories are steamy, sexy, and typically dive right in! They’re the perfect length, if you’re looking for something that’s a quick fun read to get your motor revving!
In this installment of the Misadventures series, Kendall Ryan slays this hotter than hot sexy office romance!! I could not put it down! Jackson and Piper set my kindle on fire and I’m not about AT ALL! If you’re a fan of the books in this series or looking for a steamy no holds barred type of read...YOU NEED THIS BOOK! It’s dirty talking, office romance, catching feelings kind of perfection! FLOVED IT!
It’s the perfect setup! Neither character is looking for anything serious. They meet, they hook up, then they go their separate ways. BUT the fun really begins when Piper realizes that Jackson is, in fact, her new boss. That’s when the fun really begins!

This was pretty much what I was looking for. It was sexy, sweet, and had a great office setting (which I really enjoy in romance books).
In my opinion, it was not anything mind blowing or perfect, but it was a fun read that I think a lot of people would enjoy.

I seem to be on a roll with the Misadventures books and so far I think this one is my favorite. I always seem to enjoy a Kendall Ryan book so it stands to reason I would like this one.
Piper just moved to the city and doesn’t know anyone. Her bossy little sister creates a profile on a dating site and forces her to go on the date trying to tell her she is only doing it so she can find new friends. The only problem is she did it on an app that is primarily for hook ups.
I really love a sexy book with enough substance to keep it interesting. And this hot office romance was perfect.
Jackson is a very successful real estate executive and tends to be a hardass that goes through a lot of Executive Assistance. So when he realizes his hot hook up is now his new VERY efficient assistant he decides to strike up a deal because he definitely needs her professionally and he WANTS her personally.

Can’t say I loved this one. I hovered between 2 and 3 stars but decided to go with three. I hated the way the MMC talked about women in the beginning of the book (and even up through the beginning of his arrangement with the FMC). It was just gross. I get that it was trying to convey that the MMC didn’t do commitment and just wanted sex but it can be worded in a better way to sound less degrading. That said, I liked the FMC a lot! She was smart and competent and was great at her job. Her decision at the end of the book was one I didn’t agree with though, so that was another contributing factor to my three star rating.

Ugh, I love Kendall Ryan so freaking much.
Misadventures with the Boss is kind of just like every other book in this series: short and predictable. Yet, I love them and ate them all up. Plus, they all helped me slowly, but surely, catch up in my reading challenge. MOSTLY because I'm so behind - freaking September is killing me. I already can't wait for October because I need to catch up on my reading - plus I need some downtime from work.
In it, you will meet Jackson and Piper. Their relationship was definitely cute and they had great chemistry. Yet, there's always something about an office romance. Maybe it's the whole 'will they get caught' thing about it but it also sometimes rubs me the wrong way. No idea why but it does. It's not the main characters fault, it's just usually with the side characters. Evil bitches.
Other than all of that, I really enjoyed these two. Some scenes were hot af and make me wonder if this stuff really does happen in other work places. Trust me, I heard some stories about crazy things happening in the parking garage underneath my work building. Makes me think of wearing a hazmat suit at all times. Maybe putting my car into a bubble as well?

Wow! So this story is everything you expected. Super cheesy, sexy, and dramatic towards the end but it was the one story that gripped me and made me want to keep listening to it at work. I recommend it if you want to read boss x employee stories.

AGAIN I find myself telling you what a great series this has turned out to be. Every book has been short, sweet and on-point. Not too much of this or too much of that. Just great storytelling!
I really loved Piper and Jackson. I loved how they met. I loved the aftermath. I loved their progression. I even loved how it all wrapped up. It’s a short story and normally those tend to lack in depth, but this did not. Both Jackson and Piper were well thought out characters and their baggage was incorporated into the story nicely. I had a huge smile on my face the whole time I read this story and I know you will too! I haven’t read enough books by this author to say she’s a #oneclick for me, but what I have read has always been on-point. So go forth and enjoy another excellent addition to The Misadventures series!

So, she set up Piper’s profile on a dating site. Jackson has had a lot of stress with merging his company so he is looking for a release (ahem… below the belt kind of release 😊). Jackson 21782 and Fantasy Girl 29 set up a blind date. After a few drinks and flirty banters, the two have a hot one-night stand. The next morning Piper reports to her new job and lo and behold her new boss is none other than the sexy man she was in bed with just hours before.
Jackson is a hit it and quit it kind of guy. He is much too busy for a relationship or clingy women. Jackson is sexy, successful, in control of his life and his business. However, there is more to Jackson than what he is showing everyone. Jackson has a heartbreaking past, growing up in the system. He could not afford much of anything but he managed to crawl his way out and build an empire.
Piper is a homebody. Smart, beautiful, and much more innocent than what her profile says. Piper thought she had one night of fun and life goes on, but her life is about to be complicated as she will be working closely as Jackson’s new assistant. Can they separate business and pleasure or will the attraction prove to be too much for either to handle? There is also a little surprise to the plot which will test Jackson and well as Piper’s characters. You will not be disappointed with the lovely ending. Steamy, fun, sweet, enjoyable read. Awesome chemistry and beautifully written.

In true Kendall Ryan fashion, she gives us the perfect combination of sweet and sexy with her latest office romance, MISADVENTURES WITH THE BOSS. This steamy standalone will most certainly check off all of the right boxes. From beginning to end, I was in a constant state of happiness and just pure giddiness. I’ve gotten so used to this author transporting me to my happy place over and over again. And with Piper and Jackson, she took me there almost effortlessly. When a hot and heavy blind date turns into something so much more, Piper and Jackson never stood a chance. Their chemistry, their attraction was too powerful to deny. The antagonistic banter paired with the scorching hot love scenes, well, you couldn’t have asked for anything better to make your day brighter! I LOVED this latest release by Ms. Ryan. She continues to remind me that she will always be one of my FAVORITES for the genre.

Okay, this is my favorite one in the series up to date! I blew through this book on a Sunday afternoon. We all know that I read almost every book that Kendall Ryan writes, so when I saw that she was writing for the Misadventures Series I knew I had to get my grabby little hands on it.
I loved Piper and Jackson! These two had chemistry. OH LAWD they some major chemistry going on!!! They were lighting up the pages with it. Had me fanning myself while reading. Jackson was such a dirty talker, very steamy stuff ya’ll!
What I liked the most about this book was that it was so much more than just sex. We got to see their relationship bloom and become into something great. I couldn’t help but fall in love with them throughout the story.
The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars because It did get a bit predictable towards the middle there for me.
Overall, this book was great! I loved the characters and it had great amounts of steamy moments. Even if you are new to the series, I suggest picking this up. Especially if you like office/forbidden romance!

This was the kind of romance that make you smile and swoon though the whole book.
It's the 11 book of a standalones series and I'll definitely read more of them.

Piper moved to a new city to get a fresh start.

After spending time together they realized that they were falling for each other but didn't really want to admit it. Both of their lives were turned upside down when Piper found out she was pregnant. It destroyed them both but everything worked out in the end.

*3.5* A standalone novella, one time hook up, turns into office kink, romance with a hea. Jackson is a womanizer, asshole businessman, knows what he wants kind of guy. Piper is a little lost and confused, but she surprisingly holds her own in the story. Very predictable, but I still enjoyed reading it.

I really love the Misadventures series as they are all fun stories with a favorite author's distinct flair. When I read the blurb to Misadventures with the Boss I knew I needed to read it. Add the fact that this was a Kendall Ryan book and I was sold! I loved this story!
When Jackson Dane and Piper Daniels were looking for some hot and steamy fun, they never would have expected that their one night stand would follow them both to work the next day. But when Piper discovers her hot and sexy hookup is now her boss will she be able to forget him and not act on all their sexy chemistry?
I thought this was a really cute and fast-paced story! Piper was strong and sassy and the perfect match to Jackson. Likewise, I liked that Jackson was determined to not let Piper forget their night together! This was a fun and hot office romance that had all of the amazing staples we love in a Kendall Ryan book. Misadventures with the Boss by Kendall Ryan was the eleventh book in the Misadventures series. The series was written by multiple authors focusing on short and sexy storylines.
Jackson Dane was the CEO of his own Real Estate Development Company. He was gorgeous, intense, a work-a-holic and extremely difficult to work for. He didn’t have time for relationships so he scheduled hookups for every couple weeks through a dating app. His company was his life and he intended to keep it that way.
Piper Daniels had just moved to New York. She was looking for a new beginning while leaving the old behind.
Misadventures with a Boss was humorous from the start. I loved the beginning interaction between Piper and her sister and it had me hooked from page one. The storyline was the quintessential new city, need to hook up one last time before I start my new job, oops my new boss was my hookup story! It was predictable but it was also fun and interesting.
I enjoy this series and was thrilled to see Ryan as one of the authors. I’ll definitely read more Ryan and I can’t wait to read more Misadventures as well.

Piper just moved to New York for an executive assistant position. She has a few days off before she starts her new job and planned on a few lazy days watching Netflix. Her baby sister has better plans for her. She sets her up on a hook up site and her first date just so happens to be her future boss. She just doesn't know it yet.
Jackson owns his own company. He's driven and too busy for relationships, preferring casual hookups. He's never wanted more until he hooks up with Piper. Being the clueless man that he is, he doesn't know why he wants more. When she shows up as his new assistant on Monday morning, it doesn't help him forget about her.
This was a quick and hot office romance read. Jackson is your typical playboy who only wants to work hard at work but not at relationships. Piper is the type A character that is perfect for an executive assistant. She's organized and takes charge at work but she's typically more reserved in life. Her baby sister has to push her to go out in the new city to keep her from staying home every night.
I like how the author handled these two characters. While Jackson was clueless at first, you do get to see him fall for her and owns up to it when he finally realizes it. I appreciate that so much more than the man fighting it and it was a nice surprise. Piper, despite being the reserved type, was able to let herself be open with Jackson.

Even though I love Kendall Ryan’s work, this one was a total waste of time.
Hero is a world class asshole.
“Stalking toward my desk, I pressed down on the intercom and said, “Jane, I need you to find me a date for tomorrow night. Some internet site or something should be fine. And when is dinner supposed to get here?”
Yes, this is what he says to his assistant. And the heroine lets her sister to make an account on dating website. That’s how they met. Later they find out that they are working together and since it’s a short story we don’t get to see any character development.

I would have rated this higher but the author going down the dampened my enthusiasm somewhat, especially because

I received a copy of this novel via Bare Naked Words in exchange for an honest review.
I can't decide how I want to rate this one, as I felt it left me wanting more. It was perfect, absolutely perfect, until the end. I would say it was a complete five stars until 80%. Then it felt rushed and just didn't hit the same chords the beginning of the novel hit. I was severely let down.
For Goodreads purposes, I'll give it five, but it sits at 4.5/4.75 in all reality. The first 80% was too good to let the ending hold so much sway over my rating.
Edit: okay, 1/5 of this book was not terrible, but just eh. I can’t give it 5 Stars. This is weighing heavy on me. I have to change it to 4 Stars.
It's got a little bit of the Christian Grey feel to it, bad boy billionaire, minus the BDSM. Piper and Jackson are the perfect feisty duo. They really even each other out and make for a wonderful read. Their relationship dynamic makes your heart flutter. Ms. Ryan really portrayed their story in a way that makes you feel the couples emotions and feel as if you are in the story with them.
Like I said, the end wasn't my favorite. It felt rushed and I would have preferred Ms. Ryan stretch it out. It was a short novel so there was definitely room to work with. If there hadn't been an epilogue, I would've hoped for a continuation story, such as Misadventures with a Superhero and Bolt by Angel Payne.
It's a super quick read, it took me less that four hours. I didn't actually time how long it took but I started reading at 10AM and it's 1:45PM now. I did take sporadic breaks throughout for lunch and coffee refills, etc.
Definitely read it and let me know your opinion down below!

Boss and employee romances are not new, they are not original...but, when they are written well, and have characters you can relate to, they are one of my favorite tropes. Kendall Ryan hit all the points for this one. You like Piper and Jackson, you relate to them, and their attraction is compelling and their conversations are interesting and fun.
I liked getting to know them, and seeing how they worked out their relationship from a one night stand.
I enjoyed this title and I recommend it.

This story started off with a bang, literally. A casual hookup that left Piper and Jackson all hot and wanting more takes an awkward turn when they discover that Piper is Jackson's new assistant.
With equally steamy and hilarious moments, this story has many "aww" scenes as well. Love the character development for both of them as they get to know each other professionally and personally.
Piper is this super-efficient assistant who knows exactly how to handle Jackson's bossiness at all levels, be it at work or during their romps. Jackson may seem bossy and demanding but no one made the effort to get to know him like Piper did. This couple has lots of chemistry, to say the least.

I love Kendal Ryan and the stories she comes up with. However, not every book is a winner (4 of 5 star) for me and sadly, this one falls into the that category. I don't dislike the book, it's just not one that I was wow'd over.
This book started off with a great premise and I loved both characters, Piper and Jackson, and how they were handling themselves. Then somewhere in the middle, things felt rushed and the characters were contradicting themselves with their actions. And then came the big bomb and to be honest, I was expecting it. But the bomb wasn't what made the book continue down this path of me not loving it, it was the characters reactions to everything.
So to be even more vague on this review (lol) this book wasn't terrible, I felt let down as the book progressed. I love the premise and I really liked the characters in the beginning. However, things went south after the midpoint, which for me, hurt the overall vibe of this book.
This was a very quick and I knew that going in so I had expected thing to move quickly. It was just how they Piper and Jackson reacted that really hurt the book, not the time frame, which is a rarity for me.
