Not my cup of tea.
I love apocalyptic fiction, so I figured this book would be right up my alley. I struggled to finish the book because I didn't think Trevor was a good match for Rebel. He's self serving in his secretiveness, objectively understands that Rebel would leave him if she knew the truth, and outright lies to her about his past when asked. It irks me when male heroes remove the heroine's agency when they think they're doing what's best for them. This was so much worse because Trevor knew he was doing what was best for him, and not Rebel. He also spends a goodly portion of the book trying to manipulate Rebel into doing what he wants, again for his own interests.
I also couldn't bear Rachel. Maybe I'd like her more if I had read the first book, but she was such a damsel and every time she horned in on the story she just made things worse.
The writing was superb, no complaints in that category I just had such a negative reaction to Trevor and what I considered an unhealthy relationship that I couldn't enjoy it.

I really wanted to like this book and was gutted to have to give it such a low score. I have read the first book and that was pretty good for a romance story plopped in the middle of an apocalypse because I liked the characters and the story line was OK. Book 2 however was not good, it starts with Rebel letting Trevor who she has literally just met cop a feel and more when she has no idea if he is going to kill her or worse and she doesn't even know his name! I couldn't finish this book as Rebel and Trevor annoyed me so much, I will have a go at reading it another time and update my review if that happens.

Trevor🐺🔫, the ultimate bad boy🔫💪, walks out of his cell on death row💀 when the known 🌎world ends from the Ebola virus. Billions die, few are left, it seems only healthy young adults and a few children still live.
Trevor🐺🍌🌋🔫 vows its day one for him, he is starting over, he will be the good man he wants to be. The past is past. Done. Over.
Trevor🐺🍌🌋🔫💪 finds a farm in California where the small group of people there welcome him. He's quite a sight. He's tall, blindingly handsome🐺 and blonde, with an upper body filled with tattoos⚓ and huge, hard muscles💪. He wants a woman👰 of his own and the few women on the self sufficient farm are already in relationships.
The farm broadcasts over the radio each night, hoping to reach other survivors. Hoping more survivors will come to live at the farm, hoping they will form a new community.
Rebel Case hears the broadcast. She's a former movie star. Everyone is a former something, nothing is the same anymore. They are survivalists now.
Somehow Rebel contacts the farm, and they send Trevor to help her arrive safely. There are gangs, there are wild animals now. There are men that live like animals. Rebel knows, she was raped by two of them and is pregnant.
Always the dead, decaying bodies everywhere, the vehicles blocking the roads. She just wants safety.
When she sees Trevor, she realizes there is still some hope, because she wants him, she wants his lust, she lusts for him. Deep down inside, he is everything she has ever wanted. She wants his hard, tatted⚓, sexy, body FOREVER.

Overall, the book is very good and interesting, combining erotic romance with dystopian sci-fi. I had some problems with Rebel's character, because she was worried her child wouldn't be accepted by Trevor and the others. I found this attitude didn't fit with the all for one, one for all, nature of the book.
The author additionally attempted to create problems and tension between the characters about a threesome that Trevor had participated in before he met Rebel. SO WHAT. These things seemed so trivial and weren't needed in the story.

I'm voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book, and the opinion expressed is strictly mine. I read Michelle Mills' novel, Die for You, several months back, and was blown away. I just read Kill For You, Mills' second novel in her post-apocalyptic Catastrophe series, and was blown away again! Trevor, the ex-con and former third in the triad from book one, shares the spotlight with Rebel Case, mega-movie-star and fellow Ebola plague survivor, but this is so much more than a romance. The meat of the story is the existential dilemma both Rebel and Trevor must learn to resolve: When the world ends, and everything you had or did is gone forever, who are you? For one, the dead past is a relief and survival is a heaven-sent fresh start. For the other, past glory is gone and survival is pure loss and grief. For both, it is time to move forward and build from the ruins whatever kind of life that they can. Rivetingly good writing and flawlessly authentic characters drive the story. The romance is sweet, the sex is hot, and the trials of true love are hard on them both. There are moments of pristine joy, little glimpses at the unexpected blessings of this new life, while the lurking danger and derring-do make for a suspenseful and stupendous finale. New characters join the mix at the survivor's farm, and there's plenty of potential to speculate on for the next book. Author Mills makes a gutsy call and resists the obvious happy-ever-after-on-the-commune ending in favor of a HFN that feels true to the post-Catastrophe brave new world. I like her vision, I like her style, and I'm eagerly anticipating book three.

I'm still loving the abandoned cities and post-apocalyptic vibe we have here. Our small group of survivors is slowly growing into something that can defend the place they've claimed and that's a good thing considering all the crazy stuff they have to deal with.
Well, wait. Let me back up. The group MIGHT be growing. If, you know, the new people showing up decide to stick around. Which is something Rebel isn't committed to, when we first meet her. She's wary and tense and her attraction to Trevor throws her off balance even more. While she's all for meeting Trevor's group and learning from them, she has no intention of sticking around long term. For reasons. REASONS.
That said, she does throw herself into a physical relationship with Trevor pretty whole-heartedly. She just has it in her head that there's an end date on it.
Meanwhile, Trevor is ready to follow Rebel to the ends of the earth. He doesn't go about winning her trust in the best way (lies, man. they never help anyone.), but he's 100% ready to be her dude in this post-apocalyptic craziness.
There's some nice set-up for the next book (OR BOOKS? YES? I WOULD READ MULTIPLE BOOKS!) and enough danger floating around to keep all our survivors on their toes. I liked.

First time reading a book from this author and although I enjoyed reading the book, there could be a lot more things added to make me live the book. Post-apocalyptic book with only a few survivors and the main thing some of them worry about is not having enough women to be with. Trevor and Rebel were explosive but meeting each other for the first time and letting a guy give you an orgasm just because you desperately need it seems a bit odd. The story could have been a lot stronger and with lots of content so that readers will be at the edge of their seat reading it.

Good End of the World Story
I absolutely love dystopian/post apocalyptic books!! And this one was good!!! Major event to kill off most of the worlds population?? CHECK! Two unlikely people getting together?? CHECK! Bad men and drama?? CHECK! Super smexy times and good guy dirty talk??? OH YEAH! DOUBLE CHECK!!! Off to read the next one!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This was a great post apocalyptic book full of suspense and steamy scenes. I loved how the two main characters were opposites who end up coming together to save each other. Definitely worth a read.

Trevor is a badass. Rebel is his match made in heaven. I really adored the two of them together. I also liked how Trevor completely turned his life around to be someone better than he was before. I think there are a lot of people who wish they could have an opportunity like Trevor had to start over and try and make things right for himself. He's not perfect, but he's trying, and that says a lot in my book.
I enjoyed this much more than book one, although Rachel is still around screwing up the works for others. Overall, a solid 3.5 star read

Imagine watching a train wreak happen in the wrong order.
I had to stop at 40 percent before I just couldn't take it any more.
1) I do not fetishize neo-nazis.
2) Essential motivation-based information was consistently provided 20 pages after it should have been.
3) A book that fetishizes neo-nazis should probably not spend its time also preaching about racial equality. Because Nazis.
4) I had a hard time believing a woman wrote this on the misogyny alone, but be prepared for some 'male gaze' bs.

This is a tough review to write. I like the premise, the storyline was interesting.....BUT!! The editing was sporadic, the dual POVs were not defined and somewhat odd, and some of the secondary characters were just plain unpleasantly weird. Overall, the book did not reach its potential!

I’m a fan of the Hero in this book.
Trevor is a pretty complex character. I was looking forward to reading him as soon as I heard about this series. I almost skipped to this book first.
I’m a little on the fence about my decision to follow the series order. I think I would have loved or at least liked this book a lot more had I read it first. After book one? This was a bit of a let down for me.
The relationship between Rebel and Trevor was rushed. Left a lot of room for pitfalls. I get they are both kinky, but even so, there wasn’t a good buildup and chemistry. I did find the other girls constant complaints about needing to find men somewhat silly. The fact that these whining comments actually steered the course of where the group would eventually go was ludicrous.
I found this book to be a mixed bag of tricks. On the one hand, it’s an apocalyptic romance so of course I love it!!!! On the other hand, I do feel there was an imbalance. Something was off. The careful attention to detail found in the first book was slightly lacking. I also felt somehow many of the characters regressed. There was some high school style angst I really could have been much happier without. At one point, a character calls out some of the behavior as high school, and I actually sighed with relief. It’s not just me. I’m not alone in this frustration. I don’t know why our intrepid survivors took such a turn. I really hope they regroup in the next installment!
I could tell the author wanted the group to be forced into contact with the Aryan Bikers in the hills, however I challenge that their could have been a better method. A scouting trip, a hospital trip to use medical equipment - a variety of scenarios could have brought the two groups into contact. But the juvenile, petty, high school type break up during an apocalypse? Really? And they run off as a smaller band with less protection to parts unknown with an imminent nuclear fallout? Come on.
There are so many elements left to explore, the potential relationship between Christian and Justin, the obnoxious put-off relationship between Phoebe and Sebastian(please something needs to be done there, Justin’s mindset makes no sense, why is he taking this stance, don’t drag it out too long.) Spike is still around and likely staying. I approve. He’s also the best choice to go find their missing group member. Someone should be hunting for her, how are they throwing a wedding instead?! That’s terrible.
Another area to explore, the woman who escaped from the Bikers on her own, the one Smith called “the original woman” that they all shared. She has a story to tell. The bare bones of this series is freakin awesome and has so much potential. I’m counting on the author to provide more meat.
Despite my grievances, I DO recommend this story. You are the best judge if the book is the right fit for you.

What I didn't like - The typos and other grammar and punctuation errors, Spike, the misunderstanding, the secrets lasting nearly the whole book, and there were things in this book (and the 1st in the series) that seriously could have been described differently. Some things just about made me throw up. I didn't think the traveling of the new group made sense. It didn't make sense that they fell into the sorta trap because they has been told about those guys. I understand somenof Spike's reasons for his behavior, and I sorta feel bad for him, but why is he still there? I hated the very ending. That poor little girl. How was that an appropriate way to end the book? I totally saw the Christian thing coming! i figured that out way early. I actually like that, but I guess it feels like this wasn't the plan at first but became so later on. It didn't seem to fit, but I think it's a good thing overall. I don't like that's there are no more books in this series yet, but I never count that stuff against books when I rate them. I don't like promiscuous characters, and the I like Justin and Rebel but not the new 3.

There's a lot I like in this book, but it's way preachy and a little racist against white people. Most white people are goid people. There's good and bad in just about any race, group, or classification. All white people don't need to be discriminated against any more than any other group of people. It's wrong, and I'm tired of it. I've recently read several if Mills' books. I keep reading them because they are good overall, but I've noticed a trend of complaining about how humans treat the earth and now about race. Things aren't perfect, but stereotyping any race is bad, even Caucasians. It is no better than any other form of racism. And yeah, there's polution, but there are also a lot of people who do what they can to prevent more pollution and to fix the danage that has been done. It's unfair to act like all humans are irresponsible, that all white people are bad or racist, etc. It's all very frustrating. And this kind of stuff and the preachy and complaining way it's all presented is why these books are hard to enjoy.

Whilst having read Book 1 would help you understand this world, there was enough explanation of recent events etc to be able to follow the story if you haven't done so.
I enjoyed this much more than I did Book 1, it felt faster paced and I liked the extra characters. I think the author had got 'into' the world a little better and this was reflected in a more captivating story. This is a dystopian romance with some darker aspects, though by no means would I ever put it in the dark category.
I did find it a bit (or a lot) unbelievable that Rebel wasn't absolutely terrified of a strange and tattooed man, given that she had been so seriously assaulted a few months prior, but heck the whole scenario of the book is far fetched, so I let that one go. My only other issue was with the very brash trio of girls who appeared part way through the book. I would have thought survival in this new world was slightly more pressing than finding a bloke to shag, though within a few chapters it became clear that it two of them weren't quite such avaricious man-hunters.
I found the writing easy to read and personally didn't have a problem with whose viewpoint we were seeing - especially as the book is written in the third person. I loved the mix of romance, steam, action and suspense. There were also some powerful themes explored in the book, without it feeling too heavy or preachy. Yeah you could pick wholes with certain parts of the story (such as if it's a genetic mutation that saves you a few of your close family should also carry it and have survived) but the virus was a way of pressing 'restart' and changing life as we currently know it, the story shouldn't need to hinge on being scientifically factual.
I'll definitely be continuing with this series of books. If you like action packed dystopian stories with a side order of steamy hot romance, this is a good one to try.
I enjoyed this much more than I did Book 1, it felt faster paced and I liked the extra characters. I think the author had got 'into' the world a little better and this was reflected in a more captivating story. This is a dystopian romance with some darker aspects, though by no means would I ever put it in the dark category.
I did find it a bit (or a lot) unbelievable that Rebel wasn't absolutely terrified of a strange and tattooed man, given that she had been so seriously assaulted a few months prior, but heck the whole scenario of the book is far fetched, so I let that one go. My only other issue was with the very brash trio of girls who appeared part way through the book. I would have thought survival in this new world was slightly more pressing than finding a bloke to shag, though within a few chapters it became clear that it two of them weren't quite such avaricious man-hunters.
I found the writing easy to read and personally didn't have a problem with whose viewpoint we were seeing - especially as the book is written in the third person. I loved the mix of romance, steam, action and suspense. There were also some powerful themes explored in the book, without it feeling too heavy or preachy. Yeah you could pick wholes with certain parts of the story (such as if it's a genetic mutation that saves you a few of your close family should also carry it and have survived) but the virus was a way of pressing 'restart' and changing life as we currently know it, the story shouldn't need to hinge on being scientifically factual.
I'll definitely be continuing with this series of books. If you like action packed dystopian stories with a side order of steamy hot romance, this is a good one to try.

Trevor and Rebel's story. Hot, steamy and sexy even though the end of the world occurred. A worldwide deadly Ebola outbreak kills off 99% of the world's population. Finding survivors is a slim to none chance, but Rebel and her travel companion, Justin, hear a ham radio transmition from Adam (Book 1) and set up a meeting. Trevor volunteers to meet up with them because once he heard Rebel's voice he had to be the one to go. Once he gets to the meet up spot he sees Rebel and is blown away by her immediately. It is HOT from minute one with them, despite the fact that everyone else they've ever know is long dead. Trevor wants his own woman to live with, in this New World, and he has his sights set on Rebel. Trevor and Rebel each have secrets they aren't willing to divulge and it could destroy any trust the two have built since meeting each other.
Huge part of the storyline is that Trevor is an ex-con, in prison for life for murder, and also being in one of the deadlyiest white supremacist prison groups in the country. However, since he was let go by the last few dying prison guards, he's decided to turn a new leaf and start a new life, even though evidence of his dangerous and deadly past are written all over his body... The scary MC gang is back in this one and the women are again in danger, but have enough men who love them to save them... Loved it!
I could have, however, done without the addition of the three female survivors (one of which ironically happened to be Rebel's immature, sex-starved cousin) who were almost more sex crazed than any of the men in either book. There presence was a mystery to me other than to say there were actually other female survivors. The addition to them in this story seemed unnecessary. They got themselves into trouble because they were "thinking with their vaginas" instead of using common sense.

I requested this book because I had high hopes. There were so many places this book could have gone because the world was over, there were no more rules. I thankfully didn’t look at the cover. The lead male was described as pretty much a sexy white supremacist, but the cover has him as a hipster. Conflicting views to me. One of his main physical features are his white supremacy tattoos, but they are no where on the model on the cover which feels like an oversight. If I would have known the main love interest was literally in the Aryan Brotherhood, I wouldn’t have grabbed the book. I don’t see how that was missed in the description, that is a huge plot point like the entire book could not exist without it.
The main female lead was clearly out of her element which I found brilliant. She was doing what she had to do to survive. That was ruined in the first twenty pages. It became clear that the only reason that Rebel existed was to be used by men. She had no real plot except to be claimed by Trevor (but they couldn’t have sex yet because she had been raped three months before, but it was perfectly ok to give him complete access to her body anyway), claimed by kidnappers, and again claimed (without consent) by Trevor. It is a huge issue with me that condoms were not used without consent. In the first scene (really well written, I started to get into the book), Trevor actually uses a condom. Then in the next, he goes to town without one. He admits later he was purposely trying to get her pregnant so she would be his. Gag. I am done. If the story didn’t have amazing sex scenes, this would be a one star. It was still almost a one star because of the kidnapping plot.

I've been waiting for what seems like years for this book, and it did not disappoint. Michele Mills does not hide what she writes. Filthy romance with a HEA. If you're not looking for over the top love starring bad boys with badder mouths, look for something else (but really why would you ever want anything else?!?).
I fell in love with Trevor in Die For You. I thoroughly enjoyed Adam, but I'm a sucker for bad boys. As much as I would have loved to see ex-con Trevor pair up with some sweet little innocent thing, Rebel is his perfect match. She looks sweet and unassuming but she is way more than she seems. I'm a fan of instant love in books. I know it gets a lot of criticism, but I think in the world created in this series the way Trevor and Rebel meet and fall is absolutely perfect.
The Catastrophe series is post-apocalyptic, yes, but it doesn't focus on the big horrors of what happens after the end. Sure, there is always talk of the dead bodies and the looming threat of nuclear destruction, but this series focuses on how to retain stability and a sense of normality when the world around you has gone to shit. I believe with the first book in the series, I said something about it being a good book to introduce someone into post-apocalyptic romances. That 100% holds true with the second installment. It isn't super gritty or horror filled. There's just enough action and threat to hold true to the genre, but most of the conflict comes from within their own little group not some threatening outside force.... but we do get a little bit of that, too. Don't worry!

I had started to read this book once before.
I lost my way after Hurricane Harvey decimated my city. It was so difficult to read a dystopian novel when I was going into a situation where I didn't even know if I had home to go back to...
I am so glad I was able to pick this book up again after life stabilized and I stopped crying everytime I saw new signs of damage.
Rebel was lovable and I am thrilled with Trevor finding his happily ever after! I enjoyed visiting characters from the first book.
My criticisms: the author is in love with the words swooped, bizarro, and the phrase "eat him up with a spoon". I also found I only needed to read the physical description of Trevor's facial hair and dimples once- not multiple times. A few instances of wrong word or names in the story, but it was fairly easy to figure out what was going on at all times. A few plot holes- which I will update soon.
I am looking forward to several books in this series, so please don't leave all of my survivors hanging. I definitely want Phoebe and Sebastian together, Katie found, and happiness for everyone...even Spike may be redeemable!

The storyline had a lot of potential. I really wanted to be in love with this story, and while I enjoyed it, I didn't love it.
A big issue was the poor editing. Example: is the guy's name Justin or Jason? Because "Jason" kept popping when I thought it was Justin. Rachel and Rebel kept switching places, even when only one of them was in the scene. That really kind of turned me off the whole story.
The three sex crazed females were another turn off. There were unnaturally obsessive with the idea of sex... and they were really making stupid decisions because of it. Their "banter" was just juvenile and annoyingly unrealistic, it felt forced.
The other characters were okay; I guess I expected more from this story than it actually gave.
I gave it three stars because there is something there worth reading, but really it is more of a two star to two and half star rating.

I love post-apocalyptic books but this book fell short for me. I haven't read the first book but as this is a standalone, I didn't feel like I was missing anything. Trevor was on deathrow when a virus wiped out 90% of the population. Released by a prison guard, Trevor wanted to start anew and be a better person. He found a group of people to live with. When a call comes in on their radio about 2 more people and one is a woman, Trevor goes to meet them. He wants his own woman. Trevor's desire for a woman was...odd...he claims her from the first moment he sees her. Rebel was a movie star and now finds herself traveling the road in a RV with a new friend. The relationship between Trevor and Rebel doesn't flow well. I don't want to give too much away but there is a situation that occurs for the first time and then a few pages later it happens (again) for the first time. Bummed.

R....l. Basically the same name as the heroine in the first book. This one isn't any better. The world as we know it is gone and after 3 months you should have learned the virtue of carefullness, especially as a woman. This one is also tstl.
Repeating pattern, this time without the threesome, not that it made any difference. Totally unbelievable that a woman, a victim of gangrape, easily comes to terms with that she became pregnant and the only bothering thing is that she doesn't know who fathered the child. Ugh.
Add a couple of horny women that are so desperate to get laid they leave security, but when captured by horny bikers suddenly it's desaster. One would think they would be delighted, getting all the pounding their greedy p...y needed.
The books ends with a clear hint of installment no. 3. That hasn't come out yet, but I wouldn't read it anyway, so no worries.

This is my first time reading a book by this author. I had not read the first in the series but Mills nring enough backstory into this book so you don't feel like your missing much. I liked the story line although I wish there was more with them scavenging cities and such. It didn't feel really apocalyptic to me. Other than the whole white supremacy I liked Trevor. I didn't care much for the lies and such. If he felt like Rebel was the one for him pretty much as soon as he met her, he should of been upfront from the get go. Rebel. I just couldn't bring myself to like her much. You would think with what happened to her she would of been more on guard and not so dang trusting.
There's plenty of drama, suspense, action that keeps you reading. I enjoyed this book but wasn't in love with it.

Almost perfect
Loved characters and was rooting for them from the start.
Couple of things didn’t buy into, her not knowing what his tats meant. She wasn’t naive and with Hollywood she was surrounded by storytelling and even mentioned some prison, whit supremacy groups. No way would men that went without for so long would have waited a day, especially if out of prison.
No way would have all the men left. They would have been not from prison and just joined with group To survive. Would have been great if the person that made food (maybe former chef, farmer) had stayed and asked to join in with their group.

Dark and lovely
I am really all about a post apocalyptic type romance novel so I immediately clicked to buy this book. And boy am I happy I did! I didn’t realize this was the second book in the series but that did not take away from my enjoyment of this book. Rebel is a former famous actress and Trevor is a former criminal who walked out of prison after almost everyone there died. They meet and immediately feel a deep attraction however they both are keeping secrets. I really enjoyed this book and I definitely recommended it if you are into dark, steamy romance. I’m rushing out to buy book one now!

I really struggled to get past the h meeting a stranger (who could just as easy kill her as help her) and two seconds later letting him finger bang her after going on about how sexually traumatised she was. It was just incomprehensible to me.
I didn’t really like the H when he was in the first book, but I still wanted to see where the character went. But my misgivings regarding him quickly became validated and he turned even more selfish and creepy. And I can totally see how this guy could have been a part of the Aryan Brotherhood.
I felt he was constantly only a hairs breath away from tying her up in his basement.
