The Davis sisters have always been close. Being raised by a single father has only brought them closer. When Ava goes out for drinks with her sisters she doesn't know she ends up meeting the man who breaks all of her rules. Never sleep with the same guy twice. Get out before he gets attached. No cuddling. When she wakes up to do her normal walk of shame out of his apartment the familiar voice of her best friend stops her. Not only can she not walk away but she doesn't plan on falling hard for her best friends brother. She tries hard to keep her emotions out of anything involving Mark but he won't let that happen.
Mark doesn't sleep with the same girl twice. He usually ends up kicking them out before they can pass out. He's knows that he's a player and loves to live that way. It isn't until a certain Davis is caught leaving his bed that he realizes he can't let her go. Will he break his rule when it comes to Ava Davis?
I really enjoyed this book. Ava and Mark were perfect for each other. I absolutely loved the Davis family bond, it was so beautiful and amazing. I really loved the secondary characters especially Kevin(freaking hilarious).
I really enjoyed meeting the Davis family. All of the characters just speak to some part of you. The four sisters, Jessica, Eliza, Ava and Carissa, who would do anything for each other. The single father who raised with with the help of a single brother and single friend. The bestie, honorary gay brother to the girls and his hot brother and friends that break down the walls around the girl's hearts.
Any man that would date any of Ben Davis's daughters would need to be be strong men who are willing to fight to the end for their HEA's.
Ava and Mark were both commitment phobes but one night changes them and it was entertaining to watch how they navigated their love story. There are so many moments in this story that will wither have you laughing, feeling their hurt, and sighing watching them love.
*WARNING* contains adult situations and bad language Mark is a hit-it and quit-it type of guy and that's the same type of girl Ava is. So why not .... with each other? The answer to that may be a spoiler and it's also funnier when explained in the story. The story doesn't explain why Mark is this way, but it does for Ava. I think that, not only is it sad that these girls feel this way, but also show a very real version of how our parents can impact our lives. Ben is the best dad ever, but as hard as he tried, his life with the girl's mother influenced them heavily. These characters are great. I'd like to reach in and shake some sense into Jessica though. Carissa is my favorite of the girls. Every girl needs a Kevin! You won't be able to in your laughter with some the things these characters say/do.
First things first; I like the cover of this book! Loving a Davis is the first book in the ‘’Davis sisters’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Ava isn’t looking for love. She doesn’t believe in love. When she meets Mark will she give love a chance? The chemistry between Ava and Mark is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.
I don’t know why I waited so long to read this but I fell in love with this group of characters on the first page. Ava is scared of commitment but Mark is willing to do whatever it takes to break down her walls. I loved everything about this book and can’t wait to read the rest!
Really like this author but I hate glaring mistakes. Very 1st chapter she says she is the second oldest but then lists her age as the third sister. Couple pages later, while sentence repeated in same paragraph. How does no one pick up on this before publishing?
Finding love from a one night stand. Mark and Ava find out her bestie is Mark's Brother Kevin. She doesn't want relationships. She is afraid they would walk away. This story is funny, crazy and laugh out loud.
Oh my goodness, I love this story !! These girls are awesome and we’re cracking me up !! Oh and of course we can’t forget Kevin :) Ava’s story is perfect and just when you think you know exactly what direction she is headed, you don’t !! Absolutely loved it and can’t wait to read the next one !!
This story sucked me right in. Fell in love with the characters and they had me laughing and enjoying every minute spent with them. Mark is determined and will not give up his quest for Ava. You will have to read to find out what happens with these two.
Finding love in a one night stand.. I fell in love with Ava and Marks story immediately. I loved all the Davis sisters, the family bond they share is beautifully written and very entertaining. I can't wait to read the rest!
Really cute story. Loved the people. Love the family. Mark and Ava are great together - especially when they finally figure it out. And the figuring it out part is fabulous. The book really needs an editor but even with that, I love this story!
The beginning of the book seemed a bit slow, but overall I really enjoyed this story. If you want an easy fun read with little drama, this book is perfect.
I loved this book. There was a lot of repetition, but it was great. It broke my heart in parts and made me happy in other parts and made me so mad at one part in particular. Kind of a beautiful, predictable love story that I didn't want to put down. Can't wait to see what's next for the Davis sisters
“I know you feel it too, the connection between us. I also know you’re scared. There is something going on here that I can’t even explain, but I’m not going to give up on this. You can run, My Ava, but I will catch you. And when I do, I know that I’m not going to want to let you go.” - Mark
I discovered this book by searching for free Kindle books on Amazon. I sometimes do this as it's a great way to find new authors and books. The search proved fruitful this time, and I discovered Mallory Funk who I've never come across before. The blurb for Loving A Davis had me hooked and despite having other books to read and review, I couldn't wait to jump into this one, so stayed up late to read it. This story is a great read that isn't full of drama and allows you to focus on the relationship building between the couple. I needed to switch off, and Loving A Davis allowed me to do that. I loved everything about this book, and my only complaint is that it wasn't long enough lol. I wanted more of Ava and Mark!
We also got to meet Ava’s sisters who will hopefully all get their own books, along with Mark’s friends. In fact, Jessica and Tyler star in book 2, Falling For A Davis, which I've pre-ordered because I definitely want to keep updated with this series.
One good thing about discovering a new author is that sometimes they have a few books released and you can binge read. This is the case with Mallory Funk, and I've already downloaded her three other released books. I'll definitely be reading them as soon as possible because I need more from this talented author.
