When a sight-seeing excursion turns tragic, Ziva and the gang land in the middle of a murder investigation. Fashion designer, Melanie May, was a girl boss on a mission, but her ambitions may have cost her her life. Who wanted her dead? Turns out, just about everyone. Disgruntled customers, jaded rivals, a controlling boyfriend, and even her own parents top the list.
And the killer isn't done yet.
Is the killer targeting women in leadership roles? Can Ziva identify the next target before it's too late? You've never seen Vegas like this before! #girlbossstrong
I'm a mystery author with a soft spot for romance and humor, too. I love all things girlie with a dollop of danger, have a strong affinity for the color pink (especially in diamonds and champagne), and, not to brag, but chocolate and I are in a pretty serious relationship.
My books are fun and flirty, and feature smart and sassy sleuths. If you love books with a dash of spice and twist of whodunit, you're going to love my work!
This was another good mystery in the series. This time Ziva and her fiance are in Vegas. Their helicopter crashes and of course they find a dead body. This then leads Ziva to begin trying to figure out what happened. Along the way we find out many secrets. Although, I was surprised by who actually did it. There are two more books in the series I hope they continue to be as good as the rest have been.
A trip to Vegas, what could possibly go wrong? As we all know, Ziva has a knack for finding dead bodies & scandals. This time however, will Ziva become the killer's next target? Was the helicopter crash a sign or a warning? Ms. Damore has done it again. She creatively and skillfully draws you into the life of boss girl Ziva Diaz. Ziva is more than your typical boss girl thanks to Ms. Damore's ability to create a character that each of us can relate to. Ms. Damore is able to not only create a realistic character like Ziva, but she takes her view of the real world around us and mixes a little fantasy to allow us not only dream of the possibilities but also picture them and feel the emotions from them. Another great thing about Ms Damore and her writing is that she doesn't just focus on ziva's Career the makeup world the skin care line and all that she mixes in other people's dreams and careers. Such as in this story we moved from the skin care line and from Port Haven and we head to Vegas to attend a women's leadership conference. We also get to dabble in the fashion industry. Viewing the different perspectives and creativity in the world of fashion design. See how cut-throat it can be and perhaps even glamorous. Implementing different styles I think is very complimentary of Ms Damore's writing style. Implementing different ingredients into a story especially, one that is a series I feel is key in capturing and engaging the reader. A key that keeps your audience wanting more and wanting to come back to read your stories and Ms Damore has done this as I said before. One of the biggest reasons for my interest in Ms Damore's writing beside what I've already written, is that it is a clean story. it is not filled with f-bombs or mainly focused on the sex lives of her characters as many out there do. Ms Damore doesn't fill her stories with inappropriate material. The ending to this mystery was definitely a surprise and that is all I will say. This is a cute, cozy, funny, and awesome romance mystery. Come along for the ride.
(I received this advanced copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it)
“You’re taking this case on, aren’t you?” “How can we not?” I countered, deliberately adding the we in. “Um, because we don’t want to be the next dead body dumped in the desert?”
In this the fourth book in the series, Ziva, her fiancé Finn and friends Aria and Vince are in Las Vegas for a Conference. Leave it to our heroine, wherever she goes, there always seems to be a dead body! Question becomes, why did someone kill the young designer?
Working in conjunction with the local police, Ziva’s accessing people and places that the cops wouldn’t connect, like family, friends and even reporters. Because she’s a virtual outsider people seem to trust her. Question is, should she trust them.
Deep in the investigation puzzle, Ziva and Aria are allowing the “wedding muse” to come along for the ride. Nobody expects any of these things to intersect, but they don’t know her mad sleuthing skills.
I really enjoy this series. I wish I knew Ziva: she’s smart, her branding skills give her backdoor access to the complicated world. Damore’s writing is tight and entertains the reader. Looking forward to more.
Ziva and friends are in Vegas, attending a conference for lady entrepreneurs when their sight-seeing helicopter crashes in the desert, which is a bummer, but no where near as bad as the dead body that is lying not too far away, with its head smashed in. Melanie May, owner of a successful bridal shop, and brand, had enough enemies in the wings, waiting to do her in - Veronica, her failed ballerina mother who resents Melanie's success, her father, a wealthy business man who will not tolerate insubordination from her, her rival, Mr Frederick, who claims she stole his designs last season, her customer, whose card was charged in full for a $20,000 dress which she no longer needed. Although Ziva did not really want to get involved, it would appear that the killer had it in for lady bosses, of which she is one!
Another fun read from Stephanie Damore. I received this ARC to review and this is my honest opinion.
Another fabulous book in this series with beauty entrepreneur Ziva. This time the setting is a conference in Las Vegas and the action is quick with fascinating characters and a plot that thickens with every page. I loved the blend of a mystery, bridal fashions and a location with 24 hours of adventure. Murder always seems to be where Ziva is. In her charming and smart way, she manages to get suspects and witnesses to open up to her in ways the police never can. She certainly is creative. In this book, Ms. Damore keeps the twists and turns coming from beginning to end. The ending was quite a surprise! Although part of a series, this can easily be read as a standalone. If you start with this book, I encourage you to go back and read the others. Each one is fabulous.
Pedicures & Prejudice is book 4 in a series that only started in April 2017. The Beauty Secrets Mystery series gets better and better. Is is rock solid writing by Stephanie Damore. A cozy series with a strong storyline. With humor, romance, action and suspense. Ziva and bbf Aria in Las Vegas for a women's entrepreneurs conference, are joined by fiancé and husband. This great trip begins with the couples surviving a helicopter crash. While gathering a plan for their rescue Aria discovers a dead body. A murder victim from the conference. And once again Z & A take the case of solving murder. Will Ziva have time for any wedding plans/shopping? Even pick a date?!? I received this book as an ARC. I am voluntarily posting this review. Worth reading? YES! YES!! YES!!!
I was provided a copy of this book by the author and the opinions are my own. It is a standalone story and can be enjoyed as that. I liked the book. There was a good plot, lots of twists and turns and a surprising ending. I knew who did it but the author did a great job of providing numerous suspects. Ziva in Las Vegas - what could possibly go wrong? Ziva Diaz is an entrepreneur in the makeup industry. She is invited to participate in a women’s leadership conference in Las Vegas. Ziva sounds like a great, strong woman. Her friends and boyfriend are an amazing bunch. So join, Ziva, her boyfriend Finn and her bestie resolve the death (s) in this story.
Meet Ziva Diaz -- skin care entrepreneur, and her fiancee Finn, charter boat captain. Ziva is smart, opinionated and more than just a little stubborn. With Finn and BFF Aria along, she's up for any mystery, especially if murder is involved. This series gets better with every book, and this fourth installment is no exception. In Las Vegas, Ziva finds herself in the middle of the murder of an up and coming dress designer. These books are well written, totally enjoyable, and well worth your time.
I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book. My review is voluntary and the opinions my own.
This is probably the best in this series so far. The character of Ziva is very funny and yet quite believable (for a cozy mystery, that is) The plot is clever and throws the requisite number of red herrings at the reader, before coming to an exciting climax. Ziva's romantic back-story provides a nice counterpoint to the mystery, and there are lots of very funny moments as well. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author, but I voluntarily wrote this honest review based purely on my own opinions.
This is book#4 in the Beauty Secrets Mysteries. This is a fun, intriguing cozy mystery with everything I love about cozies - interesting likable characters, an intriguing mystery (no graphic details or violence), friendship, and some romance. This book and series has it all! Ziva owns her own beauty/cosmetics company. Ziva, her boyfriend Finn, her best friend Aria & Aria's husband head to Los Vegas for a conference and vacation. Add to that, a rock star, a wedding dress designer, and a few other suspects and you have a wonderful cozy mystery!
Honestly, the typos bothered me. There were quite a few, and it took away from my enjoyment of the story.
I like Ziva, but this book was a bit implausible. I just had a hard time with a Vegas police detective allowing Ziva to investigate like she did. And she kept saying she was working on a case, but she develops and sells beauty products. She's not a PI. In the first 3 books the investigation kind of naturally happened, as they tend to do in cozies. This felt a bit more forced.
Las Vegas Will Never Be The Same This cozy mystery keeps you smiling all the way to the end. I have read several of the books in this series and this one does not disappoint. The mystery keeps you guessing to the end. The plot twists keep your interest and the humor is great. I love the characters and the situations they get into. I received a free copy of this book (ARC) and voluntarily chose to share my honest review.
What was supposed to be a relaxing business trip to Vegas for Ziva and her BFF, Aria, has turned out to be anything but. Their arrival by helicopter ended in a crash landing in the desert where they discovered the body of fashion designer, Melanie May. Attending a conference and trying to plan her own wedding doesn't stop Ziva from trying to find the suspect. There's more to Melanie's death than meets the eye. So many possibilities. This series just keeps getting better!
I received an ARC from the author. My honest review follows:
Loved, loved, loved Pedicures and Prejudice!
Beauty consultant Ziva Diaz stumbles upon another dead body, this time in Vegas, with her handsome fiancé Finn at her side. A must read whodunnit you won't want to put down. Highly recommend.
Successful Female Executive Accepts Marriage Proposal From Kindred Soul---Ziva is on her way to Vegas when she stumbles across a dead body. Not surprised are you? This is a great read. The author gives such a wonderful description of the wedding gowns that you will be laughing one moment and swooning the next moment .
Ziva in Las Vegas - what could possibly go wrong? This book is a great addition to the Beauty Secrets series. You'll find a body or two, a divine wedding dress. a flamboyant designer, Ziva as a keynote speaker at a women in leadership conference and more. There is humor, romance and a really great read waiting for you

I love everything about Ziva, she’s an excellent character. I love each mystery, it’s well thought out, no rushing to solve it and it’s always plausible. The only thing that could even be considered a drawback is her interactions with Finn. There is minimal romance but some things just don’t make sense but it’s not a deal breaker either.
Las Vegas conference turns into an investigation. Of course.
Ziva, et al, find a body after a helicopter crash. Ziva volunteers to help investigate, and she isn't even a suspect this time. :) And she ends up in danger again... I love the characters and their interactions.
Lots of twists and turns in this book. The characters are well developed, and the outcome was a complete surprise. I look forward to reading more by this author, and I do recommend!
