Introducing Book 3 in the SHADOWS OF MAGIC series!
So I’ve got one of my oldest enemies held in a magical cage, the Acadamh is finally off my back, and I’m finally training to be a druid.
Of course, it isn’t quite that simple.
It never is.
Because, you see, I thought I was good at making diabolical plans, but I’ve just met my match. Druids play a long game, and they’re good at smiling while they slide the knife between your ribs.
And in the end … I may have to choose between saving the world and sacrificing everything I love, or saving those I love and letting the world burn.
Either way, I’m going to make the bastards pay with their lives.
From the author of RISK BE DAMNED, a new fantasy series full of magic, snarky druids, kickass heroines, punch-in-the-face worthy villains, and just a dash of romance! Perfect for fans of KF Breene and Rachel Carter!
Natalie Grey grew up in rural New England, surrounded by a lot of vegetables and relatively little excitement. Therefore, she was obliged to make up excitement by pretending to be a knight, mage, jet-setting international assassin, jedi, or (occasionally) a shape-shifting dragon. She read everything she could get her hands on, from Lord of the Rings to Modesty Blaise, and eventually started writing her own stories full of what-ifs and snarky put-downs. Now she lives with her two German Shepherd mixes in the frozen wilds of Minnesota, and does a lot of inventive swearing while she shovels.
Who wouldn't like to put their crazy sociopath in a magic cage? I'm a say good-by and forget them kind of girl, but Natalie Gray brings up a whole different kind of can or worms. It's well written with characters you either hate or love, or possibly just want to bitch slap. All the more believable because, when you try to change your life for the good. Well, there are always going to be problems. It's the path, not the outcome, as someone famous once said. I give you a big well done, but it was kind of slow and I like to read a book in one sitting, so to speak.
Well I’m three books into this series. While it is not my favorite series of this author and I hate pseudo cliffhangers (one adventure ends, just as a pending disaster appears on the horizon), I will be there to read the next book because the characters just seem to grow on you.
I loved the latest installment (3rd) in the Shadows of Magic series!! Great characters,! Natalie Grey is always coming up with unexpected twists & just enough humor in dire situations, to keep me coming back for more. I can't wait for book 4!!
I really didn't think this series could get better, boy oh boy was I wrong. The writing is great and the story line - well it grows with the characters and doesn't leave you wanting. Waiting to the next not too patiently.
