What a big tongue you have!

The better to eat you with, my innocence...

Prince Zane

The idea of me as a hero of any kind is laughable. I'm the one that draws the unsuspecting into the world of sin. Not the one that rescues them from it!

That doesn't stop me from lying through my wolf-ish teeth, pretending to save luscious, sweet little Red when she finds herself alone in the dark up against my loup-garou. But there's no hero worship in her sharp eyes. Smart girl. I'm nobody's hero. But I need to play it right to get closer to her...

Ruby Devaux

All I wanted was to be free to choose my own life. Free from my over-protective, smothering family. Free from all their expectations. Instead I ran headlong into the arms of trouble. Smoking hot, devilishly handsome trouble, that won't take no for an answer!

The kind of trouble that wants to eat me up. Literally!

Wolf is an over-the-top, spun sugar sweet and filthy STANDALONE modern fairy tale romance novella with no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

USA Today bestselling author Miranda Martin writes fantasy and scifi romance featuring heroes with out-of-this-world anatomy that readers call 'larger than life' and smart heroines destined to save the world. As a little girl, she would sneak off with her nose in a book, dreaming of magical realms. Today she brings those fantasies to life and adores every fan who chooses to live in them for a while.

Though born and raised in southern Virginia, Miranda Martin is a veteran who's traveled to places like Korea, Hawaii, and good 'ole Texas. She's since settled in Kansas, the heart of America, with her husband and daughters, a cat, and wishes for a pet dragon or unicorn. When she's not writing, you can still find her tucked away somewhere with a warm blanket and her nose in a book.

Prince Zane is a Singarti who is on the edge. He has been giving into the wolf's desire too much and is turning a little more beastly than he likes. He is bored of his normal pursuits and is looking for some way to deal with all his jaded feelings. One night he decides to go out with his gang of Loup garou friends to find some entertainment. They discover a lovely young woman taking a short cut through the alley. The minute Zane sees Ruby, he is determined to make her his. So he and his friends put on act portraying him as the rescuer and the "hero" chases the bad gang away.
Ruby is feeling smothered. She is 18 and freshly graduated from college but her parents still see her as a kid. Her up-bringing is very strict and controlled and her parents still use parental controls on her even though she is an adult. However she has no way to make it on her own so she is stuck with her parents until her grandmother demands her presence. Ruby gets distracted on the way to visit and misses her train. Knowing her grandmother would get upset if she waits for the next train and turns up late she decides to travel by foot. This is a bad decision when she runs into a trouble making gang but she is saved by Zane. Zane takes her to her grandmother's but later sneaks her out for some fun. He shows her a whole new world and gives her exciting new feelings. She even gives him her virginity but just as they are finishing, they are interrupted by the gang leader who accosted her. Ruby figures that the whole night was a lie and storms out.
Zane is devastated. His feelings for Ruby makes him want to be a better man but she won't even talk to him. This is a great retelling of Red riding hood except the wolf is the good guy after meeting Ruby. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

Red Riding Hood was never this hot!

Prince Zane has been giving in to his wolf side a bit too often lately. But when he and a group of fellow werewolves find a young woman taking a short cut, he feels compelled to make her his and sets the scene of him as rescuer and his friends as the baddies!

Ruby is young but being smothered by her parents who won't let her grow up! When she is summoned by her grandmother, she takes a shortcut and runs smack into trouble! Zane performs his "rescue" and taker Ruby to her destination but later returned to show her some fun. She even decides to lose her virginity to Zane but when the so called leader of the gang interrupts them, she realises Zane manipulated her and storms off. they are interrupted by the gang leader who accosted her. Ruby figures that the whole night was a lie and storms out.

Great adaptation of the fairy tale and great "bedtime reading" for adults!

Good short story

As usual, I always wish there is more to the short story, but it was good. So far, I'm really liking Miranda Martin. I'm highly anticipating her next dragon story and Elle's story. I'm assuming she's going to show up to the cotillion somehow. This world seems really interesting. It would be nice if the author wrote a full length novel for it.

I loved this take on "Little Red Riding Hood". Adult-themed fairy-tales are the best. I really liked that Zane knew he needed to change without being told or given an ultimatum. Can't wait for Elle's book.

4.5 Stars. This is a really hot sci-fi/futuristic retelling of Little Red Riding Hood with a really hot Wolf and a tough but sweet Red. Zane and Ruby are well-written with a very entertaining story that still keeps elements of the original tale.

A little filthy like it says

Definitely a filthy sweet fairy tale romance just like the title says. I wished it was a little longer. Maybe make Zane grovel a little more. Maybe Grandma could have gotten more coming to her. It was good otherwise.

Not bad

It was OK. It was not terrible either. But it is different than any other paranormal book about a wolf.

This one was enjoyable. I was ready for the fairy tale thing this time around. Still very steamy, dirty & fun. Very quick read.

The wolf finds his beautiful, red headed beauty.

It was a good blend of the old with the new. It was a nice twist on a classic tale.

Definitely steamy - but ultimately, a story about how love can change us. If we let it.

I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.

This book is set in the same world as Beast: A Filthy Sweet Fairy Tale Romance. The MCs of Wolf made an appearance (separately) in Beast, and the MCs of Beast are mentioned in this book. But I feel that this book can be read as a stand-alone.

I loved the beginning of this book. It is a real quirky take on Little Red Riding Hood. I loved the chemistry between Ruby and Zane. My only real problem with the book came with Zane's redemption. I think it should have been more show and less tell. I kind of question Ruby's belief in Zane's change as I don't feel she actually sees his change, she's just taking his word for it. Still, I found it a quirky and enjoyable tale.

2nd Read
While I still find this book to be an okay twist on the fairy tale, I find it not as enjoyable on the re-read. I still have issues with Zane's redemption.

So well written!

I'm really impressed with how well written this story is especially the range of word usage and the lack of grammatical errors! It holds all the elements you need to enjoy a modern retelling of a sweet but steamy fairy tale :) I hope there are plenty more stories to be read from this author if there I have no doubt I shall happily purchase them!
