Michaela "Mickey" Martin isn't thrilled with her life--not one bit. So, when it completely changes for the better in the span of one night, she doesn't feel like asking too many questions. Turns out, she made an inadvertent verbal contract with the Devil...and he soon collects by placing her on an old cruise ship with a group of other people who have done the same thing.

"My problem? My problem is that I hate this job and I would literally sell my soul to Satan himself not to have to do it anymore!"
If I have to describe this book in three words, I would choose these three: hilarious, mysterious and wild. There's a lot of swearing, a lot of laugh out loud moments and you get to channel your inner Nancy Drew whilst reading.
Michaela "Mickey" Martin ends up on an ugly cruise ship with a bunch of other strangers when she sells her soul to her devil to get out of her job. As if that wasn't a big enough problem, they have no idea how to get off the damn ship -- until Mickey brings some much needed gung-ho and go-get-em attitude to the group, and the detective work begins.
If you like a more laid-back type of mystery that has dialogue that actually feels real instead of woody, descriptions that are easy to visualise and relationships that burn hot and fast, but still gives you that "I need to keep reading because I need to know who it is" feeling, then you'll love this book.
Just remember to never sell your soul to the devil, or you might get stuck on a mysterious ship with ugly decor and weird mind games.
The Devils Triangle is all what you expect for a book - it have a lot of funny and serious moments in a story that you'll not stop reading until you get to the end. Michaela - Mickey - is one of the most relatable characters ever and she'll give you a lot of laughs (the beer talk is one of the best moments of the book) and you'll like her right on the first page. The others characters on the cruise are really great and you'll get along with most of them while reading it, all the group make a good reading experience. The tiny appearances from the Devil is all what you expect from him: a funny presence that will make you enjoy most of his pranks and, of course, hate him a little bit. You'll have many guesses about who is him (i had 3), but i'm sure that you're not expecting what will happen!
The author takes you on a fun journey with the main character Mickey and her accidental deal with the devil. you feel the character's frustration in the most hilarious way possible. The story smoothly sails from her time at the strip club all the way to her final moments on the ship. The relationships she forms before and after the deal are also just as interesting. You grow attached to almost all of the characters as if you were on that ship with them. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a story with complex charactes, extremely entertaining storyline and one hell of a plot twist.
"Rough morning? It's only 7am." “Yeah, well, don't underestimate my ability to start having a shitty day very early in the morning,” I replied with an eye roll and exaggerated groan. “I'm adept.”
Mickey has unknowingly made a deal with the Devil. This does not stop our heroine from being badass and sassy as she works out how the hell to get herself out of this mess.
Jessica Benoist-Young's writing is fresh, witty and laugh out loud hilarious!
This book is everything you could want in a story- humor, mystery, romance, plot twists, and lots of swearing. This book is like no other I've read with a witty, hilarious, bad ass main character, a new and original plot, and so many "I need to write this down" lines. You won't want to put it down as you learn more about the characters and work with them to figure out how the hell all of this happened, and how the hell they can get out of it.
