We’ve all heard the saying, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade,” but what if the lemonade leaves a sour expression on your face? That’s what Dani wonders until the day she receives two perfect presents. Instead of letting life’s glitches set her back, Dani prevails. Ryker had only one aspiration when he left his hometown eight years ago, to be prosperous, but that blew up in his face when the love of his life left town. He takes his glitches and turns them into meaningless encounters with nameless women to feel adequate. Ryker and Dani bring new meaning to ‘keep your friends close and your enemies closer.’ What happens when Ryker is faced with the reality he left behind? What happens when Dani is faced with her past and the people who turned their backs on her?
Dana Arden is a romance author and an avid reader, as well as a mom to four children. She is originally from Virginia, but moved to North Carolina in 2009. Her children are her muses when it comes to her books that have children involved. Who funnier to get little snippets from than from the mouth of babes.
He kicks our heroine to the curb and joins the army. He maintains a relationship with her and another woman at the same time. This other woman says she is pregnant with his child and his parents accept this other woman and treat our heroine very badly. Our heroine goes out of town and has twin sons alone with the help of her family. He continues having sex with his ex, even finding that the child wasn't his. I think that's disgusting. He is a son of a bitch. 8 years later they meet again and she accepts him back very easily. I would make him crawl and beg for forgiveness on his knees.

This just didn't work for me. The H just up sticks for years, leaving the teenaged h alone, confused, and very pregnant with twins. Turns out he joined the Marines to help the couple reach their goals but decided he would just skip town without even a conversation with his girlfriend. SURPRISE! The H's awful parents and his jeering side piece whore bag turn the h away from their doorstep after taunting her with news of the H's engagement to said whore bag. Broken and very pregnant, she heads back to where her parents live (and her dad happens to preside over an MC), gives birth to twins, then miraculously buys a stripper bar, turns it around making it one of the hottest bars around, and buys her dream home, all on her own with two children to raise.
The next thing you know, H walks into the bar with the h's cousin. Then he's staying at her house. Then he's introduced to the kids. The h took the H back way too easily. The twins accepted he was their dad way too easily. He slid into their lives almost effortlessly. That didn't compute for me. Add to that the H's wingnut parents who lost their damn minds when the h showed up pregnant on their doorstep, AND a psychotic kidnapping, and I felt like I was back in the clown car again.
And despite that, my overall takeaway was Meh.

Confused! She was 18 and just found out she was pregnant with twins. Things don't work out and she moves to be with her parents. So my question is who was she living with in Virginia? Plus Ryker was sleeping with Sammy just a few months before getting together with Dani. That's why he believed she could be carrying his child. Later it mentions Dani knowing his parents forever and they should have known better than to believe Sammy. Fast forward several years and Ryker literally walks into Dani's bar with her cousin. What makes me mad is he says he never stopped loving her. Why did he not try to locate her and see why she left when he returned 12 weeks later. Instead he took up with Sammy again. Makes me wonder if the baby would have been Rykers he'd have never been with Dani the second time.

So much great writing and characterization. Such an interesting premise and structure. I believe everyone would love a chance to go back and change things in their past. Correct mistakes in order to change their life or their loved ones lives for the better. But changing one thing may only lead to a new problem……then you have to go back, change the first mistake, then the second one, and so on. It was touching, well-written, beautiful, full of expression, insightful, anything you could want in a book and then some. It started off with a bang, that wasn't a bang. Have learned so much in this book. Honestly, Minor Glitches has to be one of the best books I've read in a while. Dana Arden did a great work putting this together and I must say it deserves 5.0 stars out of 5. I would definitely recommend this wonderful book.
i love to read new authors, i see a great start with this series looking forward to see where it goes. just wish it was a little longer , more input of the characters .
just read the first three books in this series back to back and loved them. great stories, great characters. a few issues with editing but that is tolerable. the books are super fast paced - lots happens in a relatively short story and though they could have been fleshed out a bit more the stories more than carry themselves as they stand.
23.04.19 - reread - very fast paced, rather cliched and very easy to read (not really so easy to believe, but it is fiction) - still, quite enjoyable
The Hero is an idiot and his parents did something no sane person would ever forgive but, of course, the heroine does immediately. An unsatisfying read.
Whatever flaws we might identify or frustrations we might feel are trivial in comparison to a reader's pure joy in losing himself/herself in a narrative. When all the elements come together: an intriguing plot, well thought out themes, characters, and language that make us shudder for its honesty, clarity, and confidence; we gratefully set all analysis aside and give ourselves up to the sheer magic of a great book. And for me, Minor Glitches (Southern Chaotic's MC Book 1), is such a book.
Author Dana Arden weaves a steamy tale of mystery and suspense, with intriguing twists and turns that easily captivates the reader's attention from the beginning. The story had every element a good story should have. An exciting plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well illustrated scenes that really make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that's something I look for in a good book.
The book description introduces the series: 'We’ve all heard the saying, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade,” but what if the lemonade leaves a sour expression on your face? That’s what Dani wonders until the day she receives two perfect presents. Instead of letting life’s glitches set her back, Dani prevails.
Ryker had only one aspiration when he left his hometown eight years ago, to be prosperous, but that blew up in his face when the love of his life left town. He takes his glitches and turns them into meaningless encounters with nameless women to feel adequate.
Ryker and Dani bring new meaning to ‘keep your friends close and your enemies closer.’
What happens when Ryker is faced with the reality he left behind? What happens when Dani is faced with her past and the people who turned their backs on her?'
Now, if that’s not enough to whet your appetite, I don’t know what will. But if you want to find out what happens you’ll just have to turn the pages for yourself to find out! But I will say it's well worth the read. It's my first time reading this author and I must say I was very impressed.
This captivating and commendable work had me immersed from the beginning. The story flowed from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling. There are plenty of attention-grabbing moments in this page turner that will take the reader on a truly entrancing journey!
It’s one of those books that come along once in awhile that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader. I will say, however, that fans of the Romance genre will love having a nibble this one!
If this book is anything to go by, I’ll certainly be looking forward to reading more from Dana Arden in the future. I would definitely recommend this book. Five stars from me.
Really enjoyed this book. Dani is a strong woman and Ryker got screwed over by his own parents, his mother mostly! But it all works out in the end. My biggest complaint is the editing sucks! There are a lot of words used in the wrong context and there are words that don't make a lick of sense in the way they are placed.
This is a really good story. The MC is more of a background group. The main characters are Dani and Ryker. 8 years prior Tyler joins the military without telling Dani and heads off to boot camp without a word. Dani finds out she is pregnant with twins and goes to his parents to get contact info from them. instead of giving her a number they treat her bad and call her names. Dani decides to leave Virginia and move back home to her family in Georgia.
Now 8 years later Dani has made a life for herself and the kids. Dani's cousin Trigger comes home from the military and brings a friend with him. Tyler is surprised to see Dani and even more surprised to learn he is a Daddy.
Can they work something out for the sake of the kids?
Dana Arden has done a great job on this story. I did think there would be more biker action since it is A MC series. But it was still worth listening too and I can't wait to get started on book 2. There is some sex and a lot of language but it is one of the calmer MC books I have read/listened to.
Lacy Laurel and Logan McAllister done a really good job with the narration. They kept my full attention all the way through. I finished this book in one setting.
I was given this book at my request and have left this review of my own choice.
Dani is a hard worker and when, at age 18, she discovers that she's pregnant and alone...she relocates to live with her uncle and his MC, Southern Chaotics. She has worked hard for 8yrs to provide for herself and her twins...she now owns a successful bar/strip club, owns her home and has the support and love of her MC family. Ryker returns from the military with his bff, Trigger, and plans to stay with him and his family for a few days before heading home. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that Trigger's cousin is none other than Dani...the girl that he thought he would be with forever but who disappeared on him 8 yrs ago. When Ryker and Dani meet...the tension is palpable...Dani is furious and still hurt by his mistreatment 8yrs ago...Ryker is confused. A long overdue conversation clears up the miscommunication and as it was, the shenanigans of Ryker's ex gf and his parents are at fault. That said, I think that Dani forgave Ryker a bit too quickly, but she did and they have their HEA. There is some drama with bad guys, but the story is very short so we know that we will have to move on to the other books in the series to get the rest of the underlying story.
Do not let the length of this story fool you, there is a lot going on, so come listen to this second chance romance! Dani and Ryker are childhood sweethearts. When Dani finds herself pregnant with twins, she goes to tell Ryker only to get a surprise of her life! She is on her own. When Dani's cousin Trigger, brings his friend home 8 years later, the two are reunited. But will they find their love has stood the test of time? There are many obstacles to overcome, a little suspense thrown in and a surprise in the end leaving me wanting more! Lacy Laurel and Logan McAllister narrate this fast moving romance, from the alpha men in the motorcycle club to the adorable young twins. I love these two together, they compliment each other well with their array of voices and have me looking for the next story in for this motorcycle club.
The WORST H. Just the worst. Left the h for the marines without telling her because “it would hurt her too much to tell her I was leaving” and that he “did it for them so they could have their dream”. Disconnects his phone so she can’t contact him. Thinks he got another woman pregnant at the same time he was seeing h. Doesn’t think too hard about why h left HIM without any contact and just keeps banging the OW. His parents are horrible, picking OW over h because she was pregnant “That was our family Ryker!” but when h sends pictures to them of the twins birth they just put the pictures away in a box and never opened another letter from h for SEVEN YEARS. Never telling the H he had kids. Then when H confronts them they’re self righteous and H is in no way out of his mind raging at them for stealing the first 7 years of his kids life from him. All of these people are irredeemable. DNF.
The characters are so important in a book, and in this one they were all well developed and felt real. However Dani was a real standout, her ability to forgive and move on is amazing, it was a highlight of the book for me. Ryker however I didn't like, he was kind of an arse, I can't figure out what Dani sees in him.
The chemistry between Dani and Ryker is hot, lots of sparks happening here.
I really enjoyed listening to it, it's fairly short, but there's nothing missing. The dual narration was great, excellent character voices and the tone and pacing worked well.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
Stilted conversations, bad sentence structure, bad punctuation -and I am far from a grammar nazi. However, when you have to read and re-read sentences and mentally put in the right word and/or correct tense....well, then I just start skimming. Everything was resolved too easily for me (I'm definitely not as forgiving as Dani) and felt matter of fact, like bullet points that had been expanded on instead of story telling. Even the big climax with the evil ex at the end felt very....anticlimactic. The next book seems to be about another near virgin (yes, Dani in Minor Glitches was celibate while Ryker wasn't) and a manwh*re MC member, so....I'm out.
Ryker and Dani were young lovers. Inseparable. They'd talk for hours making plans for the future: kids, house, cars, you name it and the conversation had been had. Then it all changed overnight. Dana Arden has taken these characters and let them make a mess out of things until fate had to take over. An easy read with a plot that takes a twist here and there, characters you will either love or hate and a chemistry that would make some blush. Of course, there's a HEA waiting at the end.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A short story that is written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. He leaves girlfriend and town to join the Army. But she did not tell him about the pregnancy before he left so when he returns there is a surprise for him. He has been a manw**re while away. Having her and others at the same time. Can they make it work again? I would have liked her to be stronger because of his actions. He is my to my likings with having other women besides her. She makes it too easy for him. But enjoyable and easy short read.
Dani tries to get ahold of her boyfriend, Ryker. Nothing works, she shows up at his parents home, only to be confronted by the ex. His parents lay down some nasty words and basically tell Dani to kick rocks.
Fast forward eight years and a connection that no one knew of, leads to a unexpected surprise for Ryker.
Dani is by far the most laid back MC princess I have read about. The drama and trauma that the ex of Ryker pulls, that out coke she gets.. should have happened years before.
I won this book in a giveaway. The plot was okay but not well-developed. The story rushed to a conclusion in a way that was a bit unrealistic. There were also so many editing errors-- words used wrong, misspellings, tense errors, missing punctuation. Many times I had to stop and reread because something didn't make sense as written.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
What a nice quick listen. This book is great if you don’t have a ton of time but still want to listen to a book that has all the emotions and drama you need. Definitely a recommended book. Starting the next one right now!
This is the first book in the Southern Chaotics's MC Series. This short story is fast-paced, with twists and turns and steamy scenes. The narration was well done. I love Lacy Laurel's voice, she's one of my favorite narrators. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
I absolutely loved dani and rykers story!! Rory and Tate are absolutely adorable!! I love how they just became the family they were always supposed to be!! Can't wait to read chases story
Minor Glitches has the bones of what could have a really good story. Unfortunately there is no emotion in the story. It's story line should have been filled with emotion . Instead it's like the characters where given valium and really didn't give a sh*t.
I loved this book. Dani and Ryker are made for one another but one woman ruins it. Years later, they see each other again and it’s like they never missed a beat. Awesome writing.
