Ace wants to make amends with Maris and her brother Chance but especially Marisa. He broke her heart and the walls are so high, but he's willing to do the work.

Ace feels responsible for the accident that caused Chance to be a quadriplegic. He is depressed. Marisa is working two jobs trying to pay off the medical bills, but she feels overwhelmed. So when Ace comes back into their world, Marisa is very suspicious of Ace's intentions, he does everything he can to so that Marisa will see he really means what he says.
I have really enjoyed this series. Recommended.

Ace Caldwell is an alcoholic and his past actions have ruined the life of his former girlfriend and her brother. Now working AA and at a good place he has a PI find them to make amends and is shocked to discover she lives near by. What he isnt ready for is the small house, the two jobs, the state of her brother who hasnt recovered or even tried. He sets out to fix that, help her, help him and maybe fix himself.

Marisa Foreman cant stand seeing him, cant stand hearing him and cant stand him. He ruined her live but more he ruined her brother, Chance's life but he won't stop showing up, fighting to help her, to help Chance. When Chance finally starts to react and become more alive than he has been in years the first cracks show. When, through no fault of her or him, she loses one of her jobs, she is distraught with how they wll survive.

Problem solved, Ace moves them to the ranch, no rent, people around. Chance thrives, walls fall and soon she is questioning if she can stay away, especially when he takes her to his special place no one has ever seen, besides his family. Then one night. Booze. Will destroy her trust. But was she wrong or is she right?

Ace's partying lifestyle came to an end when he and his best friend wrecked a truck drunk driving. Ace made it out without a scratch. Chance is paralyzed from the waist down. Marisa, Chance's sister and Ace's girlfriend, blames Ace completely. As Marisa struggles to take care of Chance and the mountain of medical bills, Ace realizes that he is going to have to fight to make amends for his mistakes. Working through the AA steps has helped Ace become the man his family hoped he could be. Running a ranch, helping bring Chance out of his depression, and fighting Marisa for the right to help is a lot to take on, but Ace knows that he never stopped loving Marisa. I've enjoyed this family and this series so much!! Great themes of redemption and resilience!

Embrace Change

Don’t like her-Didn’t like her- Won’t like her. Marisa is a woman who is very hard to like. Ace is a man who loves with all of his heart and soul. As we change in our life, we learn and go forward. Ace was able to do that, but Marisa constantly found fault. He married her but I kept waiting for her to doubt again.

Thoughtful Read

In reading this series I’ve fought the fact that I often don’t like at least one of the characters in the beginning. As they grow and change through the story, and I think about their changes, however, I learn to like them and understand them more. I won’t go into story details, that’s what the book blurb is for, but this is a thoughtful and worthwhile read.

A Bride for the Cowboy

What a great book. I loved Ace. All that happened and what he went through to become the man he was supposed to be. Marisa had trouble trusting and after what had happened in the past with Ace she was doubly afraid now.
