In a world of prejudice and secrets, the magical elite, sorcerers, look down on shifters. Servos Roesch, half-sorcerer and half-shifter, is content with his successful, if mundane, life in the supernatural city of Tarnov. That is until an urgent plea from his friend's wife threatens his well-earned peace. He is not only compelled to help her but also track down a pack of werewolves before their crimes lead magical law enforcement to his door. After being taught to hide all his life, Servos must face a life-altering choices that might very well reveal his secrets to those who will only seek to use him.
This was a great read. I agree it is definitely not for the younger readers due to violent content including rape of the main character. I thought the plot was compelling and it held my interest. It had an interesting mix of supporting characters as well. I can't wait to see where book 2 takes the reluctant hero and his clan.
My only issue is the few sex scenes, they were a bit rough and we basically rape scenes because the main character was drugged and forced into it even with the many times he said no. Other than that it was a good read.
