This is the fifth and final book of the Abnormals Underground series.

Alyssa is now only one step from becoming the Dark Pentagram, the being the demon Thoreau will use to merge Earth with the Infernal Dimension, and she's seriously freaking out. Since she has the touch of Death, the fire of a dragon, deadly War Magic, and the curse of having to drink blood, Alyssa's done her fair share of bad things lately. It really puts a damper on the fact that she and Xavier are finally free to be a real couple.

The worst is yet to come. The most horrible part of Alyssa remains to be awakened, and it's darker than anything she's faced so far. She vows to avoid it at all costs.

As if.

When she and Xavier learn that Thoreau has enslaved the only beings in the world capable of killing him, there's no choice left--Alyssa must venture into the Infernal Dimension to free them and save the world. But doing so will awaken the darkest part of her, completing the Dark Pentagram, and it just might rip Alyssa and Xavier apart and destroy everything she knows.

In this harrowing conclusion to the Abnormals Underground, we finally discover the fate of our heroes and of the world. We've followed Alyssa and Xavier as they battled against the evil demon controlling the Dark Council - five powerful eternal beings bent on destroying the world by merging it with the infernal dimension. No matter what they did, Thoreau was always one step ahead, manipulating Alyssa into fulfilling her destiny by becoming the dark pentagram. In her, the magic of all five members of the dark council had lain dormant, but try as she might, something always forced her to awaken each aspect. As her power increased, so did the danger to the rest of the world. Can she and Xavier defeat Thoreau before he uses her to merge the infernal dimension with our world?

As with the other four books in this series, the entire tale is told by Alyssa, from her first person point of view. Once again we are drawn into her internal conflict - in order to defeat her enemies she needs more power, but each new ability is more terrifying than the last. As she struggles to maintain her morality, it is her love for Xavier that anchors her. Ironically, it is her guilt over past misdeeds that threatens to unravel it all and plunge her deeper into darkness. In this book, Xavier and Alyssa are finally honest with each other about their true feelings, which is a refreshing relief after so much tension and resistance in the previous books.

Throughout the series, we've seen glimpses of the hellish infernal dimension where Thoreau has trapped and enslaved countless humans and abnormals. In this book, we finally get to journey through it, and Holly's descriptions create a vivid picture. We see the horror, feel the immense heat, and resist its pull toward demonic selfishness right alongside Alyssa. I also enjoyed seeing the water park where the final battle goes down. It felt as though I was really there, climbing the structures, crawling underground, and witnessing the fear and carnage of that conflict. Once again Holly has created a masterpiece. I hope we'll get to visit this world again in a future series.

I volunteered to review an ARC of this novel.

Ok, I've got a problem here, the kindle blurb is too good. It gives both everything you need to know without spoiling things and, in just two words ("as if"), gives you a real feeling for the heroine's snarky humor. Oh phooey. I'm going to simply skip all of that stuff and go to the bottom line. That bottom line is that this had been an absolutely superb series, filled with 5 star books, and this finally sadly (I say sadly as "finale" presumably means no more seeing these wonderful characters in action) is really the perfect ending. This book has everything you'd want, and more. Perfectly crafted, complex, layered characters and a wonderfully written plot that addresses everything I wanted to address. So goodbye Alyssa and Xavier, I will miss you. Goodbye too Thoreau, you fiend, I will sorta miss you too as you were a great evil character nemesis for our leads to deal with.

If you've been reading this series all along then I guarantee you will love this book. If you're new to this series then you're in for a real treat - but really start with book one and read book by book (they're all excellent, as mentioned) building up before turning to this one. The impact will be so much more powerful then.

"Highly recommended" is a weak shadow of how strongly I recommend this book and series.

I absolutely adored this series and I am kind of sad that this book is the last one in the series as I love being immersed in the world within this book!!! Although I am excited to see where this author's imagination goes next.

The storyline of this s book goes places that you really don't expect giving this book an extremely thrilling story full of surprises and thrills. I think that is what makes this book the most addictive of the series! You will not be able to stop reading this story and not just because of the amazing storyline but also because if the descriptions that are so vivid and realistic in a fantasy world. This author is able to mix reality with the supernatural and make it somewhere that the reader never wants to leave!!!

You find out so much more about the characters in this book, the good and the bad, you see motivations and plans that have been laid for a long time as well as struggles for humanity and people accepting their fate and the reality if their lives!!

This really is an amazing book, you need to read the rest of the series before this book otherwise it won't make much sense plus the author's books are amazing and readers will enjoy the journey in every book!!!

Everything has been building to this! Demon Magic picks up right after the end of Vile Magic. Alyssa confronts the darkest parts of herself, both inside and out, as she finds herself racing across the Infernal Dimension. Xavier struggles to keep them both alive as he battles his environment, his enemies, and Alyssa's growing darkness. Together they try to stop the horrors that are quickly closing in around them as they barrel towards the climax and Alyssa's destiny. We finally meet the Fifth member of the council as the circle closes and the final pieces of the puzzle are revealed. This was a great conclusion to a thrilling series. I hope this isn't the last we see of these characters as I would like to know what led to and came after the story.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

Quite the journey.

I have read all of this series and it was great. Alyssa finds out something very disturbing about her family and she is one step from becoming the Dark Pentagram.

Alyssa (a vampire), Xavier (her war mage battle partner), Liliana (Xavier's little sister), Janine (a new vampire and Alyssa's friend) and George (Janine's cousin and a werewolf) must work together to keep Thoreau (a demon and mayor of the human town) from bringing the Infernal Realm to the town and then the entire world.

I'm sad that this is the last book in the series. Maybe Holly will give us an update on the characters one day. Maybe they all lived happily ever after or maybe not. Enjoy and Thanks Holly.

I was given an ARC for review (and the poor thin is running quite late)

I think this book, overall, is a good end for the series even though I was waiting for something different in the end, specially with the reunion in the end. We know it happened and how but I'd like to have seen it. We can see a lot of character growth along the series and the books are really well intertwined. It's been a while since I read Vile Magic and this one started right where that one stopped. This series is a really easy and fun read

This is book #5 in the Abnormals Underground Series. It takes up right where book 4 left off.
Things just seem to get worse and worse for Alyssa and Xavier. Full of suspense, all kinds of supernatural characters and magic! What is not to love. I was very happy with the conclusion!!!
I am looking forward to what Holly Hook writes next!!

What a spectacular ending for Alyssa and Xander’s story. Non stop action from start to finish that kept me on the edge of my seat.

I've been delaying this review because this really means that this epic story is over.
Demon magic is a great conclusion for the series, this was the most moving book of all 5, with so many emotions and yet a lack there of (you'll get what I mean by that once you read it)
The final showdown is an epic one. Great finish to a wonderfull storyline.

Demon Magic is the fifth book in the Supernaturals Underground series by Holly Hook.

Only one more step and Alyssa become the Dark Pentagram, a demon. She will be use as a tool for Cazio to release hell on earth. Of course she doesn't want that . Now Xavier and her can finally be a real couple the only thing that is going well in her life. But when she learn that the only thing that could kill Cazio is in the Infernal dimension where she's not supposed to go, she won't hesitate even if it set thing in motion that she doesn't want to. Awakening something that will scare her more than anything.

I have really loved this book and cannot wait to read more in this universe. I have received an arc of this book from the author.

This is the final installment of the Supernaturals Underground series. While it is sad to see the end, the book was a wonderful wrap up of the series with a hopeful and somewhat open ending. Throughout the series we've ridden the roller coaster ride of adventure that Alyssa's and Xavier's lives have become. We have seen Cazio try and use Alyssa and her unique heritage to end the world. While she keeps taking hits she never stops fighting. Best of all we do have a hea ending. A fantastic series from beginning to end! I recieved an ARC copy from the author. This is my honest review.

This series was a good one that Holly Hook wrote.

Alyssa doesn’t have much longer until she becomes Pentagram, but that is not what is really the plan for her. She wants a happy ending with Xavier. The only way she will live a happy life and be with Xavier would destroy Cazio forever.

for some reason I thought Vile Magic was the last book but I found a link to this book in my email a few days ago and quickly downloaded it and read it. this was FANTASTIC. I flew through this one and I felt like the questions I originally had at the end of book 4 were answered and everything wrapped up nicely.
